Excellent video, is not easy to pick just 10 dishes, nevertheless, i think you may find that some major tradicional dishes were left out, for instance: Caldillo de congrio; curanto, cordero al palo, chacarero, cazuela, leche asada. prototos con riendas, machas a la parmesana and so on...
Great video! Choripan is an Argentinian/Uruguayan import - not a traditional Chilean sandwich. Typical Chilean sandwiches are churrasco or lomito with different ingredients. The best is churrasco chacarero en hallulla, a thinly sliced steak, with fresh tomatoes, green beans, green hot peppers, and a little mayonnaise, which is optional. It’s a springtime sandwich in Chile, since it’s made with fresh green beans and peppers, when in season.
Choripan is a generic South american dish, even when called chorizo the Sausage is different from what is found in Europe, it is of pre-Columbian origin originally prepared with animals such as guanaco and deer, It does not have a real country of origin since it precedes the countries of the continent, Being a common preparation among several native communities throughout the continent along with other types of sausages, dried and smoked meats. Churrascos and Lomito They are the Chilean take in sandwiches from the U.S.A, as well as the complete one, these do not have a traditional origin. Half of the food in this video is of Creole origin taking the base of European cuisine with native ingredients, Chile and all the countries of the southern cone have a huge gastronomic culture but most of the videos focus on these Western friendly recipes, They even ignore important traditions such as the different types of Asado, Raw meat or even blood that is part of different traditional preparations, the most common on internet is Ñache and one of the most gore looking ones, although traditional one uses guanaco, chicken and deer blood instead of Lamb.
@@neeklahs I was living in Chile for many years and I frequently ate sandwiches at different fuentes de soda. I never saw or heard about choripan. You may have realized that I am very familiar with Chilean fast food the way I described the Churrasco chacarero en hallulla. I saw my first choripan during a trip to Uruguay. I see choripan in Argentinian and Uruguayan videos, all the time. Seeing choripan in Chile is something new to me.

I’m chilean, and we eat choripan during “asados”, we don’t buy it in shops usually. The choripán from video looks like an argentinian one, but in Chile we have our version
@@Cappongo That’s fine. I left Chile in 1973, and I was frequently eating at Fuentes de Soda, mostly at Dominó, which had only one location, at Calle Agustinas. Now they have almost 20 stores. I also ate at Falabella and at another, big one, on Alameda Bernardo O’Higgins. I saw churrascos and lomitos; Barros Luco and Barros Jarpa; and Completos - never Choripan. Choripan was probably introduced in Chile sometime after 1973. Also, a single pizza slice at Pizza da Dino, Calle Tenderini, was a full meal.
