Wrench life 604, where does one purchase a neutral safety range switch? Having a hard time finding one for the ‘98 online.

Holy shit I thought I would never find and info on this issue. In my case the wiring harness got disconnected and then dropped down and got shredded by the cv axel.

does the neutral safety switch has to be align probably or hold does it needs to be align ?
Where does the other end of that wire connect to? Is it a nearly impossible to reach place? Or is it easy to reach?
My car will go into all gears expect drive. Would this sensor have anything to do with my problem ??

Im having a problem where the van shifts into the park gear but not Engaging it is only remaining in reverse and reading reverse

Bro I need help really bad. I use my CRV '99 to go to work but now I can't. At first, I can switch into gears but I do have to press the shift lock release I can't put it into park that's why I put it in neutral then turn off the ignition, then remove the negative connection on the battery then release the key. But now, it has gotten worse, I can't switch into any gears and luckily, it got stucked into the neutral gear so I can still push it. This happened after a mechanic fixed the brake lights. Any thoughts?
The brake pedal switch is used to shift out of park. So maybe was an issue at first with the brake pedal switch. The connector to the switch or maybe the adjustment of the brake pedal switch. If ur stop lights are not coming on when you hit the brakes that may be your issue. I dont know why your car wont shift out of neutral rn. The shift lock release should work.
I don't know much about fixing cars so i need help. What exact tools do you need to uninstall this and re install it? so i can buy those tools? and when i re install it i just pop it back on the metal thing sticking out? thank you. I have a 2001 honda crv ex 4wd btw, 1st gen. I just tryed to start it wont start and key wont come out. when i turn the key to on it says its in drive even tho its in park so im assuming this is the problem. However i will disconnect the battery in the morning hopfully its just a bad signal or something. But yes what tools did you need to uninstall the part. Thanks.
Think you need a 10 mm socket and a socket wrench. Your problems might be that the sensor isnt in the park position. You might need to turn it so its in park then install it back onto the transmission

See if the brake lights come on when u hit the brake pedal. If they do not. Then u need to check the brake pedal switch or wiring. The brake pedal needs to be pressed. For the car to go into gear

exactly where did that ear belong? I don't see in the video where it came off
it was apart of the switch. it broke off.
What is that piece called?
Sometimes called a range switch. Others call it a park neutral switch. Id call it a transmission range switch tho
It's a neutral safety switch if you go to buy it at a store that's what you need to look up
So I did replace it but it worked for a day then it stopped working any ideas

@@BE74297 yeah I figured it check your gear shift to see if anything blocking it , that’s what happened to mines there was a hair tie stuck in it.

99-01 CR-V doesn't have this issue. They changed the automatic transmission (even though it's still a 4-speed :P) that MY.
The red crv in this video is a 2000.

My 2001 has this issue currently. The column won't go into park. If u try, u end up with the shiftlock on(easy to reset) it's as if the cable won't reach a position

Is the vehicle currenty stuck in park or will it go into gear if u hit the release switch. Its kinda unclear what you are saying
