That's some next level stuff right there. Just recently discovered Mohini, she's phenomenal, incredible, fantastic all the good words at once, Govan is every great guitarist that's ever been rolled up into one amazing dude.
As someone mentioned on the Mohini at NAMM video. "She's in complete control of that instrument." It's so wonderful to see people free of ego and using their great skill to produce something so loved.

I adore Brian Beller with the Aristocrats but I want to have Mohini Dey’s babies. She is THE bass player’s bass player and adds a new dimension to The Aristocrats I never imagined. God bless you Mohini.
Govan has to demonstrate to be better than Bumblefoot, Mohini Dey already reached and surpassed the level by black bass player gods (wooten clark and miller)

I clearly have not watched enough Guthrie Govan videos because he's my all time favorite and I have only recently discovered Mohini Dey. She's amazing!
@@randymckinley4137 That's the thing I always feel when watching her, it seems like she's so concentrated on being technical and flashy that sometimes it just feels a bit disjoint and unmusical. Tal, OTOH, seems to be able to do both at a high level at the same time, technique and musicality.
They're both great, but Mohini is still on her "show-off phase" (youthful exhuberance). Hopefully she will settle down as she ages, as most great musicians do.
Super smoking hot trio right here, Mohini and Guthrie are made for each other, I've heard her voice, if she hit the mike there's a great band waiting!!

Well, I think their approach is very different, I wouldn't be able to tell which one of the two is the best, but both are most definetly high up in the ranks, the greatest of all times for sure
Wooten is a monster, but getting old you start to have no patience with what you don't like so he slowly entered in kind of a catch 22. Mohini, instead seems far from falling into that, and despite she can double thump, or the famous bend on harmonics (you hit with your right hand thumb's nail the string so the harmonics come from here and you can bend the string with your lkeft hand making the audience say "what the fuck????") she still have the patience and the stubborness to search for other ways. I think Wooten arrived at the top, while Dey lets you think something more is coming on.
Guthrie and mohini with matt garstka and eldar djangirov would be epic! add martin miller and you would have the jazz fussion equivalent of Dragon Force.

10% of the time practice
90% watching Guthrie Govan play the guitar.

I can't get over how good a musician Guthrie is. What a talent
