Its not possible to open an airplane door in flight . They are designed to open in away that they have to go inwards first. The internal air pressure (the same pressure that we worry about if a window breaks) holds the door in its frame.
With so many people lacking healthcare....or any mental health care...we should expect more of this. And the air travel experience no doubt “pushes their buttons.”

The world is going insane, and these kinds of outbursts and meltdowns will only continue to increase....If it was made known, what percentage of women are on psychotropic medications for mental and emotional issues, it would be staggering.
Imagine the terror of those that were nearby. Its not the first time on other airlines that a passenger has attempted to do the same. I think her name is Chloe Haines, and was sentenced to 2 years. Apparently her lawyer claimed that she mixed alcohol with her meds., and has no recollection of her actions.
I think Airline companies should keep a record of passengers who behave like that in an airplaine. Record their name, age, their past history of violence and being arrested...etc.. So that next time the same passenger tries to board an aircraft the airliner can refuse service because there is no guarantee the deranged passenger won't wreak havoc again. Just because of some unruly passenger a flight is diverted.. Unbelievable. Refuse service to that passenger.
Apparently a few people don't know it's impossible to open a plane door while it's in flight and pressurized. They could have let her tire herself out.
It's unfortunate that some people do get very anxious when flying. I once worked with man who was really scared of flying yet perfectly ok with other modes of transportation. I flew with him a number of times on business and it was always an ordeal for him. He obviously was not as bad as people in some of these videos so wasn't disruptive. I used to go backpacking and canoe camping with him in the wilderness with no problems at all, so he wasn't a wimp in any other way. I think that some people have a drink to calm their nerves but possibly overdo it. Trouble is that if you are not an experienced flyer the whole experience from buying tickets, packing, getting to the airport on time, possibly parking your car, finding the check in desk, going through security, waiting in the lounge, boarding, watching the safety demo, taking off can be very intimidating for some people. I just found it exciting when I started flying but this turned to boredom after a while. I'm usually asleep by the time the wheels leave the ground. At that point my fate is totally out of my control.

it's about 40 minutes....but maybe they didn't have a choice at the time. Austin isn't a big airport and San Antonio is military airspace. Maybe she was just really flaking out at the time.
@@KB-ke3fi "San Antonio is military airspace"?? Since when? Didn't seem to notice when I've flown into both San Antonio *and* Austin.
I agree that she could hv been restrained to get to Houston. It is just not that much further and the other passengers had to wait 4 hrs before getting to Houston.
Some of the passengers along with the off duty police officer should be thanked for subduing the unruly passenger. It could have turned out much worse.
You don’t fly Southwest and you don’t fly Spirit. They have high numbers of passenger disruptions.
Flew southwest my whole life and not one incident...so shadup
@@rosemariemello6675 have fun with no leg room then lol
Its not possible to open an airplane door in flight . They are designed to open in away that they have to go inwards first. The internal air pressure (the same pressure that we worry about if a window breaks) holds the door in its frame.
With so many people lacking healthcare....or any mental health care...we should expect more of this.
And the air travel experience no doubt “pushes their buttons.”
They should permantely ban these people for life. That will teach them to behave.
Looks like we need more security in the air!
I’ve watched hundreds of these during the last year and a half, also in restaurants and other places. It’s all in the states. What the hell is happening here?? People are just rude, entitled and think they can act whatever way they want towards others without consequences.
Human population is SAD!!!
I am begging to think that these are mental breakdowns caused by high amounts of stress. It’s happening too much lately.
There are mentally ill people, so it's no surprise some will be on a plane. She should get an evaluation and treatment if needed. Glad it ended well though.
What's with the chick talking about how the government needs to be careful is the government our babysitters do we want to sit and let the government do everything for us and end up like Venezuela
I hope they got her her own flight back to where she was trying to open the emergency escape. That way they can push her out and she gets where she wanted
Back to the age old statement: flying is not a right, it’s a privilege. If you can’t behave in a way that is conducive to your safety and others you should not fly.
The world is going insane, and these kinds of outbursts and meltdowns will only continue to increase....If it was made known, what percentage of women are on psychotropic medications for mental and emotional issues, it would be staggering.
Whoohoo Officer Minchew - what a way to impress your family and start off a vacation. lol The grand kids will hear about this one. :)
I'd be upset to be in Chorpus. What a dunghole. Giant flying roaches, ugh.
It is impossible to open a door during flight
“ government should do a BETTER job of....”. WHAT?
STOP serving alcohol in the airport and on the planes.
That does create alot of issues
The worst argument you can have is with yourself!
Drunk lady on a plane. The blonde lady's answer?
More government in our lives.
“They need to do a better job” referring to airport security.
Airport security is a joke in the states . But no laughing Matter.
Do they still have air marshals in flight any answers on that
No
Why do they need to blur the face of a person taken in to custody by authorities?
It seems these days people shouldn’t worry about a crash as much as they should worry about people like this being on their flight
Just because you have an ID doesn’t mean you should be allowed on a flight.
People keep thinking that throwing tantrums will change policies
Airplanes are like the new asylum for crazy women.
Midnight Daemon I usually wonder why its women most of the times who do these strange things in the airplane.
Yep. Exactly!!
That is funny you said that because usually it is a woman
Why is this scarey?
Why is it always Southwest??
Apparently a few people don't know it's impossible to open a plane door while it's in flight and pressurized. They could have let her tire herself out.
It's always the governments fault 🤯
Cringing so hard with the lady immediately saying the government needs to make us more safe.
Gee does the valid blonde want to pay the increase in tax that deep research the "government" should do to make her happy?
I’m having trouble reading your comment
.....vapid?
Surely there must be a safety device that stops any personne opening that door for no safety reason..
Should have just gone on to Houston. Almost as close.
The emergency exits can not be opened in flight.
The lady Anchor is absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
@Daniel Pearson
Actually, that reminds me of drunk lady in a departure lounge somewhere on my travels. She started ranting on about bombs.
She was taken away by security, to where I know not.
LA to Houston is a flight to
avoid
First off, you cannot open an emergency door on a plane once it’s moving, secondly if I was on that plane I would punch the stuffing out of anyone endangering my life.
@@UnitedMunich-lj2on really? Read my comment again Sir Einstein. I said you cannot open a door on an airplane and I would punch anyone endangering my life while flying. I wasn’t talking about opening a door I was talking about “anyone” that endangers my life. Do you know what a blanket statement is smart guy?
I used the word “anyone” as my blanketed comment. You should really read your 3rd grade wannabe comments before posting them. You aren’t that smart……..
It's so weird that if the lady had been a poc or wearing a hijab or something, she would've been heavily vetted before being allowed to board, even if she hadn't been acting strange. I'm glad everyone made it safe and sound.
Enough with the racist crap.
Oh give it a bloody rest tosser!
Hillary Voter
"Government should do a better job of checking who they let onto the plane."
*government increases security measures for who they let on planes*
"OMG this is taking SOOOO long! It's discrimination! So over the top! What a waste of time and money! The TSA suck!"
yeah exactly
Why are their so many meltdowns on airplanes?
low fares
How much is the fine for that ?
Assaulting a crewmember is punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment, and a fine of up to $250,000. If a dangerous weapon is used, the defendant can be imprisoned for life.
Anyone know is any prosecution is taken against this unruly passenger(s) when flights diverted and delayed.
