The Corvette just got on the marbles and slid off, its being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Passes happen on that corner all the time. The Peugeot cannot simply brake to slow down while cornering at the curved entry of the Porsche curves. Both drivers committed the one on the outside would have been ok if it weren't for the marbles late in the race. Its a racing incident everyone is tired at this stage of the race.
Extreme words there coming from Davidson! I have to admit he was in the wrong there. As they said he was taking a lot of unnecessary ricks and really punishing the car, which you can’t do in a 24 hour race when you’re trying to make it last the distance. As for the incident with Collard, he really should have held back and not passed him there. He should have waited and then passed him round the outside of the second section of the Porsche curves like he did with the Luc Aventures Corvette earlier. I have to admit I was both surprised and impressed the way the Corvette boys were able to get it repaired and back out again, but to no avail.
I know it's Speed (American coverage), but there was no contact in the Davidson episode. Furthermore, Collard is an experienced Le mans guy and shouldn't have been taken by surprise. As for the comments about not overtaking in the Porsche curves, that's simply wrong. It happens safely on numerous occasions. I understand the American ire, but come on, this is Manu's 16th Le mans.
When the Vettes come to LeMans, they get smoked. They don’t have IMSA in their back pocket to give them far better BOP adjustments . Davidson was 100% wrong... I am not even a racing driver and I know that overtaking a GT car in the Porsche curves is a death wish. The gt cars simply don't have the grip to adjust their line thru the corner while in the middle of the corner. Corvette weighs an extra 300 kilos - over 600 lbs.. Smaller tires and less than half as much downforce as the Peugeot. His comments made him really look like a prick too.
It's all ego with him. He made the same mistake with Toyota 2 years later. That one left him really banged up and with concussion. Because he had no patience. He owns the road so he says "Get the hell out of my way."
How often they blame Davidson in the Peugeot for the crash of their precious Vette... There wasn't even contact, just no grip and probably marbles in the grey. These manovers happen all the time, the Vette simply lost it. But respect for putting the car back on track so fast. Endurance mechanics are something else!
Why didnt the Corvette yield? He was way in the lead of GT, Davidson was in a rush so the radio would have told him, never touched him was on the inside line, Corvette was like fight for position?!? Stupid idiot.
@@1010thechamp its simply a racing incident^^ nobody did it on purpose, the vette was in the grey and lost it. Why not stay on the racing line? It was too fast for the grey and spun out...

@@siniyden Davidson's a dick! His whole career has been bent on his knack for being an arrogant ego driven racer. That's why he got kicked out of F1 and why when wrecks happen he's involved. @@germanenglishengineer2054 To be fair, Davidson has endured more heartbreak than most at Le Mans. In 2010, his Peugeot suffered an engine failure just a few hours from the end when it was catching up to the leading Audis. In 2016, his Toyota broke down 3 minutes from the end while leading, and in 2017 his car had to spend over an hour in the pits, thus taking it out of contention. And attacking him for his crash in 2012 is disgusting, given that he was injured in the crash and the Ferrari was at least as much to blame as him.
Well, to be fair, he's been very unlucky at Le Mans over the years, with 2010 and 2016 being two instances where only mechanical failure denied him victory.
I always liked Anthony Davidson, but damn, he took the leading Vette right out! What douchey thing to say about the Vette, and it was HIS fault for fvck sake!!

Corvette team is probably the best prepared team next to audi! They almost always fix it!
I look forward to the C8 racing in 2020!
Dont forget that he blamed the corvette for it too
