Yes I second all those positive comments. My interest in Endurance racing goes up and up and believe you me, when the views go up and up a small part of it is me watching again and again. Thank you Chris.
It's also pretty amazing that the P2 cars were doing 3:30 lap times and the absolutely awesome and amazing Toyota GT-One cars from 1998-99 did the same, if not slightly slower race lap times!!
They just knew car nerds would fap over these cars a decade later... Smart move Frenchies... Smart move. Sweet car too. Love the fact that you could run that monster 5.5L V12 (before they made em all 4L or less) and the V10s in the audi cars were just as awesome and didn't burst into flames as often (obviously)... They were pushing out something like 1200-1300+ ft-lbs of torque. And 800+hp too. In qualifying mode probably close to 1000hp... These cars did lap times under 3:20 and the 1000hp, hybrid 4wd Toyota that accelerated much faster than the Peugeot (amazing to say that) with its electric motors and did a lap time 5 seconds faster... Just shows that the Peugeot & audi cars were pushing out AMAZING power and despite not sounding great, were spectacular to watch! Idk what that 1300 ft lbs is in metric. One million Newton meters probably. 2nd best looking race car ever, just beneath the all-purple Silk Cut Jaguar XJR14 from 1992 or '93 The Jaaaaaaags also had a Cosworth F1 engine (mostly) and it sounded, as the British would say, "absolutely brilliant" I wish Jaguar had enough $$ to come race in IMSA and build some XJR14 replicas with some screaming F1 Cosworth V8's.
@@TheNecromancer6666 Only at Le Mans though. In most races against each other, between 2007 and 2011, the 908 beat the R10, R15 and R18 more times than it lost against. Yes, the 2015+ cars have since surpassed this 908 in speed.
I had a 2005 dodge ram with the Cummins diesel - 325 hp and 650 ft lbs of torque... And 7000lbs of truck... THAT THING HAULED ASS! For a truck at least... But in all seriousness, it could beat almost any car in a race from like 0-30mph lol
2:04:38 doing away with big Judd and HPD engines in the LMP2 category and removing GT1 cars from Le Mans were the two biggest mistakes ever in terms of endurance racing passion. Sad moment at the time. GT1 was a great category which stopped shining in the Le Mans Series at the end of the 00s while racing was still amazing in FIA GT. Perhaps there were something to do with the rules in LMS...
It seems Lamy was too aggressive on the first restart, as he almost ran out of track while overtaking GT cars along the first Mulsanne straight. And that lower wishbone connected on the tub got snapped after at least 2 hours

Can be expected from a country in which the people still say EYEran and EYEraq for the countries, Porsh for the German supercar and Moss-COW for Russia's capital. Remember: Audi were first, second and third, while all Peugeot's retired. So please, shut up
Well the thing is the Diesel was only for the fuel efficiency, which is why both Audi and Peugeot ran Diesel. it doesn't have to do with performance or anything, it's just that within regulations, they could go farther on stints and it made sense to run it.
Well Audi raced with diesel engines from 2006 to 2016 and won 8 times. Peugeot ran diesels from 2007-2011 and won once. They were much better than the petrol powered lmps, on acceleration and in the fuel efficiency department. Thats why Audi and Peugeot choose to race with diesels in the first place. Not a single petrol engined lmp could reach them. It may not have sounded as nice as the petrol engined cars, but they were faster and needed less fuel. And electric cars will surely beat petrol powered cars soon, i mean they already do. So stop whining and being delusional and just understand that petrol is pretty average, no, pretty shit.
