- Whether it’s a 3, 6, 12, or even a 24 hour race, the multiple IMSA series never seem to disappoint when it comes to finishes. Here are a few of the most unique and thrilling finishes that I could find. All credit goes to Fox, ESPN, and IMSA.

9:20 Fun fact: they guy in the corvette is Haas F1 driver Kevin Magnussen’s father, Jan Magnussen
Mansoor Kamrani “Most unsporting driver on the grid” -Nico

You're a great driver, you really are
He is crazy
corvette got penalty, it for while she got the compuls to let Porsche go for on 10:43
That Dan Gurney move is pure genius.
That Dan Gurney move would have gotten him a 5 minute penalty in the next race nowadays.
They would throw the caution and remove him from the track. DNF more like it
I will take that. 5 minute penalty in the next race in exchange for a 24 hour Daytona win. Not like a 5 minute penalty is the end of the race for a 24 hour race anyway.
It was a brilliant strategy.
It would be a disqualification. That is essentially what happened to Toyota at LeMans when they stalled on the last lap. They got it restarted, but since they were "too slow" on that lap, it did not count, and hence they "did not finish" the race.
3:10 A HUGE KERFUFFLE AGAIN IN THE FINAL CORNER
No Here 3:12 That Is Better Not 3:10
Those cars looks like they are worshipping satan lol
lmao wtf is a kerfluffle.............that words makes me giggle!
3:44 can feel the frustration of that other corvette
NGTL Racing MrSBS well this should be able to pass if it is yellow flag if you pass someone you get penalty
9:18 Everyone who has ever played Gran Turismo.
Trying to block someone in first , i get it
If it’s paved, it’s track
gran turismo is for amateurs, long life for assetto corsa, automobilista, and rfactor 2
@@thesucker555wt7 umm, no, gran turismo is one of the best racing simulators ever created,
Nontas Georgoulias It’s a arcade game, as much as I love gran turismo it’s not a simulator the physics are wonky and the force feedback is next to nothing it’s a game that appeals to the masses so it has to be “arcady”
3:50 I really really really feel bad for the vette
yeah was like pure bad luck, the one side he wasn´t got unlocked.
IMSA is the best series on earth for racing.
Agreed! I wish I was alive to experience IMSA GTU & GTO as well as GTP. Some of my favorite race cars and race car design philosophies are from that era.
V8 Supercars is really good they have really equal cars
.....WEC when Porsche and Audi were in Lmp1. But even now, WEC is still awesome, especially in GTE
Best north american motorsport
@@davidbowman2991 omfg true, back when it was Peugeot, Audi, Toyota, and Porsche in the battle, i still remember Audi's solo victory run with 1 car against 3 peugeots
What the porsche did to the vette, in that last turn, after he held the break so the vette would rear end him and give him an excuse to spin him...bergmeister's season should have been over and probably his imsa career at that point. There was no excuse for crashing Jan and giving him a proken tail bone, bruised ribs, and a few bruised vertebrae, just my opinion.
Well, he also had ptsd from Sebring with the Ferrari which makes this even more of a movie-like moment
12:28 I think you should watch it again..
It was also pitch black during the race, almost impossible to see anything
@@alcides2494 I agree, but to the point where bergmiester claimed I could see Jan in a later interview, I'm sitting there thinking: you couldn't the bright ass YELLOW headlights in your mirror. Just my opinion
@@09TYPER I did and even a bump like that is no reason to point a guy into the wall at 150, bergmeisrer knew what he was doing
Oh you can spin that guy into the wall at over 130 mph just because he lightly touched your car, but if you dare go down the track to pass, your ass is grass!
how have I never heard of this.....? This is fking awesome....
@Lavern Davis jr yo
I think NASCAR is overrated
@@awkwarddoggo05 No nascar is underrated
@@manueltjuhh3807 overrated as hell
Watching all of this is my pregame for today’s Rolex 24
3:11 when vtec kicks in and you go ftl
ahahaha I thought this was only happening to me!!
Lol, V-Tech. "BAAAHHHHHHHH"
Reccomended right after the LMP2 photo finish yesterday. What timing
That dude in the Porsche pisses me off reminds me of forza 7 12:35
Bergmeister for you xD
Victor Andrade wait, he was being “too aggressive” on a track where there are very few passing opportunities against a Porsche on, like you said, very bad tires. Yeah, guess he should have just gave up..... LMAO do you know what “racing” is? It usually involves pushing yourself and the car to the limits.
@@IPL_VIC watch when the Corvette passes him before turn 1. He drives away from him...BAD. The Corvette was obviously faster, and the Porsche driver literally dove off the racing line to wreck the Vette.
Bergmeister is a piece of shit...he can drive his ass off..but he's still a piece of shit.
Victor Andrade I don’t see what’s wrong with a bump n run, if you have the faster car, take advantage of it. The Porsche was in the wrong
@@IPL_VIC He is not a better driver than Antonio Garcia first of all, secondly the Corvette was much faster regardless and the Porsche driver was fighting a losing battle and took the cheap way out to win. The Corvette had every right to be aggressive when he's running much faster.
The Corvette finish at Daytona was beautiful!!
3:11 & 3:31 let’s be honest everyone who has raced this track (real life or video game) can relate to that.
me and the bois vibing on the track and takes away a guy's victory by accident
As good as WeatherTech Series has been, having ALMS and Rolex Series running seperately from each other was an era of racing im very glad I lived in
Also RIP Speed Channel
ALMS was legendary
I'm so happy tons of ALMS races are archived here, mainly because I didnt grow up with it (same with Grand-Am)
Awesome video, but this got the thumbs up from that very first clip. Incredible
Gonna start watching IMSA from now on!
In that first clip all I could think when Barbosa spun was "karma"
That first announcer, the Australian one, is the best commentator in all of sports hands down.
Cole Trickle mode. This was truly spectacular that great recap
Great finish at laguna, will always remember
Even though the pit-out rule was completely stupid and ill-conceived.
I was there
12:27 C O O L V I B R A T I O N S
All of that and the Corvette still almost won
Amazing video!!!!!! There are a lot of great finishes. I'm sure you can do a second part!
You somehow managed to miss the greatest IMSA finish of all time... Sebring 2007
PttyBlue43 Sebring 2006. That entire race was incredible from start to finish.
I said Sebring 2007
PttyBlue43 Oh, did you? For some unknown reason I didn't hear you. Sorry. Anyway I said: "2006, 12 hours at Sebring" because the entire race was intense, especially the GT1 category.
I'll go back and watch it
I was at Sebring in '07 standing above the Risi Ferrari pits with my father during the final laps of the race. It was a NAIL-BITING finish in GT2!!!
0:09 it would’ve pained me to try not to say “ricky had a little bobby there”
The crazy thing about what dan gurney did is the fact that this year the 24hr race winner couldve slowed down and cruised across the line as they had a 15 second lead i think, i wish they did it too as it was a anniversary...idk how many years but it wouldve been beautiful tribute if they did it
Damn I'm watching IMSA from now on
Yeah fuck Nascar
@@geraldmoon2382 did u know imsa owns nascar?
That lmp2 finish was crazy
45 should of been DQd for that. Yeah Jan bumped him but he still had control of his car. Crashing the vette should of landed the 45 in last. But porsche biased stewards didnt see it that way...45 kept the win.
Dayonta's Let's Go Away [Dinosaur Canyon] goes SEEMLESS with this video for some reason. xD
You're forgetting one of the best finishes of all time. 2007 12 hours of Sebring
12:34 This is everyone the first time the ever played a racing game, the competition aren’t people they are obstacles
Thanks for posting this content! You guys know where I can watch these events LIVE online??
12:29 He let anger get to him
im confused what to think of this, the corvette was racing hard and sorta pushing the limits of what id call aggressive, but the porsche driver essentially sent him for a full hit. Almost feels like the porsche driver was just upset this guy can drive so hard.
@@coleomo Aye yo WTF, if that corvette going flat out was agresive for you, How can we call the thing the Porsche driver did.....
I mean Lifes are involved, You can´t just push a driver in to the wall and wish him his best to survive an accident that´s just simply not acceptable, even if you are the most pised of person in the planet, he could have killed the Corvette Driver..
And those little touches are pretty common in racing, if your car is fine you just must continue, You won´t let me lie, almost every race in history has had those little touches since they are going flat out.... But what is not common..... are unsporting drivers pushing other drivers in to the wall...
SOY UN BANANO, Id push you into a ravine if you bumped me for the win.
@@thomaswilliamson625
In that supposed scenario let me tell you what you deserve for the stupid desition you just made!
1-Your team gets instantly disqualified
2-You get 15 years in jail or 25 if The driver dies. (probably get brutally killed or raped in there)
3-You lose your Racing Driver Licence
4-The Vette Team takes the win
5- If you survive the jail you get murder or attempted murder record
So yea it looks like a fair move, Deranged weirdo ;)
😁
The first race is literal karma at work lol
Exactly ÙwÚ
You could include the whole last 30 minutes of the last Bathurst 12 Hour Race 2019 🔥
IMSA finishes, bud.
That's IGTC
First clip is just straight karma
Stll binge to watch this now days !
thanks for that video :) i love
The first one was karma
Mystic シ it was a clean pass. Taylor should have backed off after the pass.
Great post.
Dan Gurney is a badass driving a goddamn bomb.
Dan is the most complete driver born in the United States. Ever.
It's not even close to debate
i love how it’s always vetted
Awsome Vette finish guys!
Barbosa deserved that to be honest running someone wide is unsportsmanlike
I remember watching that Sebring race.. Still hate that 45 for robbing the win.
2:00 this is probably where they got the cars 1 scene from
Oh man I remember watching that last clip live! What a time to be a Flying Lizard fan!
"if you ain't first, you are last"
Would’ve loved to see the JLP-4 in action
Pause, what kind of racing series is this? Where is it from? Never seen this but it looks sick
1:18 bob varsha what a final lap
What about that wild Ricky Taylor vs. Joao Barbosa vs. Richard Westbrook IMSA finish at Detroit several years ago?
What a smart move by Dan Gurney
7:47 I dare you to.
This first guy sound like he’s from Alabama, Britain, and Australia at the same time, it hurt my ears
Something you gotta love about American motorsports: they have radio advises like "Last Lap", or "clear by five", or "traffic ahead".
I am not watching racing before so I don't understand the last clip. Can the slower car pit the car in front? Why don't the Corvette pit #45 earlier? He has so many opportunities to do so.
4:51 wait, did he just say Luhr? I think I know that guy.. Lucas Luhr
13:25 the vette pit maneuvers himself by pushing back he didn’t get run into the wall and was in first he cut back for no reason
With how that corvette was driving and trying to overtake in those clips I would've been pissed off too. But maybe crashing someone out is a bit much?
Hey the first one was at Detroit I live there
MJY5 THE RACING GAMER yes
what about Sebring 2007 with Melo vs Bergmesiter, or VIR 2014 with Fisichella's Ferrari against Henzler's Falken Porsche, or Ferrari vs BMW in Laguna Seca 2017
2:54〜 Wow!!
way more exciting THAN F1 and NASCAR! combined!
I don't understand. At 3:31 why do they park in the track like that? Anyone with the knowledge, please explain.
There's was a wreck at the exit of that tight double 90 degree corner. The three wrecked cars created a road block, making the already narrow corner exit even narrower. The following prototype car's line was just awkward enough to get stuck, blocking the GT cars that followed. It became a parking lot from there.
I was there for the LBGP and it was the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen! It was hilarious!
Why do the cars from the first clip have corvette badges?
Imsa= i must see again?
Rikki-Tikki-Tappi
For the win
The last corvette said Kachow
How can they call it a corner cut on the front straight?
Cos it's... not a straight?
Why did the corvette just, do himself like that
3:11 they were just having a little car meet. Nothing to see here just keep racing lool
Wait, who won the last race? Did the Porsche get a penalty? Was it a racing incident?!?!
Liam Campbell guarantee the Porsche didn’t get penalized because it Chevy if it was vice versa it would have been
That vette hit him on purpose, I would say the Corvette got what he deserved for trying to race dirty and loosen him right before the end.
@@linuxhowto3562 the Corvette driver was mad because the Porsche tapped him out of the track @11:25. From my point of view, Porsche driver shouldn't squeezed the Corvette at the end.
@@SchafdoggGTO I hope the whole corvette Racing Team punches the hell out of the Porsche driver.... it maked me so insanew to see him wrecking the faster corvette driver
Porsche should’ve been DSQ
Themontrealman Sorry but I don't agree with you. Both of them bumped the other car, you cannot dsq one but not the other just because of the results of the bump.
Nope, the Ferrari over drove the corner
Oh yeah, that incident, I agree that there should have been some penalty, because he drove him all the way to the wall and then wrecked him, but I don't think a DQ was in order
Ed Kell Maybe not, but certainly a good ass-whooping was in order.
The Vette smashed right into the back of the Porsche on purpose.
Hahaha *LOVE THIS* !!!!
“Rubbing is racing”
Where is the 1st and 2nd place Corvette finish?
6:59
3:50 anyone know why they don’t red flag/freeze racing order?
It was the last lap anyway and the track wasn't blocked completely.
captain Barbossa pirated his way over and sure enough got cursed on the port
2:14 sneak 100
0:50 - well you need a new commentator. That dude got put on the wall. Thank god Barbosa blew his tire.
BoP has been fucking Corvette over for the last 3 years. It's absolutely infuriating to watch Porsche pull dirty trick after dirty trick and get away with making Corvettes heavier and heavier as their fuel management gets ever better. 12:30-12:39 is the reason why Corvette fans hate Porsche lol.
FIA would give a penalty of lifetime for racing like this in f1 :D
I mean, the cars wouldn't probably survive driving like this so the penalty wouldn't be needed, but I know what you mean
Milner , its James
Gran Turismo Sport be like 13:33
You mean Forza
Definitely forza, that Porsche driver had enough of the corvettes shit
Sebring 2007?
I want to race for Bentley
MUITO BOM! VILA BELA/MT.
tHAT WAS A FUCK3D UP CRASH AT THE END
Subbed
Should have added VIR 2014
dude I was enjoying the first race but I actually got mad when the #5 got a flat, and I am a #10 fan. that blew it for me
Should’ve been some type of penalty on the end , he drove him all the way into the wall.... didn’t just bump him, he basically pitted him into the wall
Look at the Porsche's front wheels he was on full lock after the hit, and the Vette dove forward when he hit him. I'm sorry but how is that in any way fair? To win after literally forcing your opponent off the track (if he hadn't caught that slide he would have spun). Bergmeister lost a race in the exact same way a year back or so before this so naturally he wasn't going to let it happen (since they wouldn't have penalized the Vette in any way if he would have just let him through let's be honest). I don't blame him, I'd have done the same exact thing.
the vette just had to back of he hit him before the last straight and thats the only reason why he was going to win so he shouldve stayed behind the porsche
gebakken aarshaar yeah the corvette should’ve just braked while the Porsche was literally hooking his right rear quarter panel. Would’ve solved all his problems, surely.
Slimme naam
@@stefanpetrov8 Magnusen went in deep for an early acceleration exit. Bergmeister broke early to cut in before to defend. Magnusen had nowhere to go.
Stop being biased. Bergmeister is a driver for hire within porsche fulltime in GTD for a reason, where as Magnusen is in a fulltime position in a factory team (GTLM) for a reason.
Jorg is good, but makes stupid defensive moves too late.
