Hello, dumb person here... I grew up as a dumb kid, and eventually took a job as a truck driver. I did some really dumb things behind the wheel, and let's just say there is a stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike that will be polluted with toxic chemicals for the next 10,000 years because I overturned a tanker truck full of phosgene gas cylinders and they exploded all over the road. After that I was barred from ever driving a truck again, so I went to school to be an engineer. Now I am a successful engineer designing suspension bridges and airplane fuselages. I don't always do the best work but I try really hard and I apply myself. I just got a job with Boeing as a matter of fact. I'm happy that I can inspire others to be successful in spite of carelessness and poor choices!
I feel like the real dumb people think they are smart and are percieved as such because they aren´t aware of how much they don´t know. So in my mind the "dumb" people you are referring to are actually smart people who are aware of how vast the pool of knowledge is and how little of it they know. Great video!! You gained a sub!!
That sounds awful 🫠 But best of luck tomorrow! (the fact that you don't know what's going on means that you're on the right track...or something like that idk)
if you're smart enough, you can play dumb if you're not smart enough to play dumb, you're actually just dumb if you don't have to play dumb, you're not actually that dumb Great video, interestinf perspective I never learned to study for tests, because smart privilege, now in high school that's starting to hurt a little (although I didn't have to redo any courses anyway) I wanna be able to struggle with things fot catharsis, but I'm not dumb enough, only too susceptible to primal fear to be comfortable with people existing less than 2 meters away I try to remind myself that I'm still dumb
Ngl its annoying when people don’t consider many options. One time I had an a creative idea and bro was like “ In the laws of physics thats impossible” Laws of Physics okay bud; I understand is useful but what about the whole “Nothing is impossible” idea. Heck everybody thinks Nikola tesla with whole electromagnetic device in the air doesn’t apply to physics. But at least he was trying vs the know it alls
@@GauruvVirk I grew up thinking I was smart (for some reason (great parents I guess)) and all throughout the video I was wondering if I was actually smart or dumb after all ^^ Like what I call smart is actually more like curious. The whole "growth mindset" thing. But personally I'm quite dumb, I just think about fundamentals all day. I'm a software engineer btw ^^
There are kinda too many generalizations... So many that you smudge the facts and truth with them. I've met quite a bunch of smart people who are pleasant to talk to and are an inspiration to me. I'm looking forward to meeting them again. And, btw, dumb people don't learn because they don't want to. If you want to learn, then you're smart because you know you don't understand much. I've met a lot of dumb people with nothing on their faces and in their eyes. That's the same as looking in the eyes of a dead animal. And these people would never, ever, ever want to become someone as complicated as an engineer. They would be interested only in pursuing their instinctual desires. Not intellectual. If a problem they have to deal with is an intellectual problem - they disappear. The people you're talking about are smart enough to understand that they need brains to survive.
If I'm a chess player in a cockpit and I land the plane, I'm suddenly really smart. If I'm a plane pilot and I can't land the plane, I'm suddenly really dumb. How long have you been in your environment? Have you adapted efficiently? If you have a resource surplus from a decision you made it doesn't matter whether or not there's holes in your brain, you're suddenly really smart. Or really lucky. It just depends on whether or not the decision is potentially understandable, so lotto ticket decisions are out of the question but decisions to write a song with a IV - iv - I in it count. This shit's just built in. This video's an example of it because the moment someone is successful or influential their intelligence is reevaluated. Are you happy? Are you far and wide? Are you useful?
Being a triple treat is, smart, approachable, and decent looks lol. I think also categorizing smart and dumb is flawed. If you are very intelligent but can't effectively communicate your ideas to others, are you really "smart". I believe whole heartedly in multiple intelligences. Some people are great at interpersonal skills, some at spatial awareness, or even kinesthetic skills. I can't throw a baseball with the same force with good accuracy reliably, struggle to come up with creative/out of box solutions, and may struggle to visualize what will fit in between a space. I can however enjoy algebra II, have a knack for linguistics, and pseudo interpersonal skills.
dumb is the new smart
bro called people dumb in the most respectable way
hit em with the classic "no offense tho"

Congrats on the job! Mistakes are only in vain if you don't learn from them 🫡

To be smart, is to know how dumb you are 😎 (also very fitting that this breakdown came from a wise turtle) And thank you for the support! :)
This is literally the Dunning Kuger effect!
me dumb. me happy watch video.
you should consider becoming an engineer
@@GauruvVirk joke's on you, I'm 4 years ahead of that consideration lol
I was smart in school, but I feel dumb while studying engineering. It seems okay now
this is a safe space for the dumb-feeling folk 🫂
Feeling very validated rn
Representation is important 🙌🏽
mind.
blown.
🤯
great vid :)
thanks :)
Such an inspirational video as I have my eng45 and physics 9c midterm tmr at UC Davis (idk what is going on anymore)
That sounds awful 🫠 But best of luck tomorrow! (the fact that you don't know what's going on means that you're on the right track...or something like that idk)
This was the most insightful, interesting video I have watched today
I'm glad that this was the only video you decided to watch today
if you're smart enough, you can play dumb
if you're not smart enough to play dumb, you're actually just dumb
if you don't have to play dumb, you're not actually that dumb
Great video, interestinf perspective

Smart enough to know the importance of being dumb 👌🏽 Thanks for watching! :)
Thank You man for the encouragement man. 😂 I have my slow moments pretty regularly. Like you said I fellow dumb here always ask questions🎉.
Representation is important 🤝🫡
It's not that the "smarts" know answers to everything. Anyone does.
"the smarts" is hilarious
I must be ass ugly, but then, I have no personality either 😂
damn roasted yourself unprompted 💀

Smart people are real buzzkills - always hitting people with the "well actually 🤓"
YOUR CHANNEL IS SO UNDERRATED!!
Appreciate you 🤝🫡
Stop trying to slander furries (IT, engineers, chemists, STEM researchers)
LOL
brb gotta show this vid to my whole class🏃♀
you've just been misunderstood this whole time!
brb eating lead to become dumb
love a good life hack
Clearly something a smart person would do
So are you saying that you're dumb? jkjk
indubitably
i don't know bro, but i feel that bro is speaking facts [ i don't know anymore (civil eng'g at uplb) ]
i gotchu bro 🫡
as a fellow dumb engineer, your videos are hilarious. keep up the good work 😂
LOL thanks! :)
Teachers that are smarter than theor stufents cant teach because they cant comprehend how to bring them along
Perspective and understanding others are definitely important
That was fun to watch
Thanks! :D

dumb people just have to choose to be smart 😎

Ya solid point - the whole smart vs dumb thing is definitely nuanced
