Can’t speak for other states, but this video accurately portrays Utah moms. Always see Stanley in cup holders of Utah moms in their big suvs/trucks, Teslas, Jeep Wranglers, TRD pro 4Runners, or Bronco with 3-6 children in the back with a Target shopping bag in the passenger seat wearing a brown/tan/white monochromatic outfit. I’ve seen this mold too often

Funnier is how it really does happen in real life--I grew up in a fundamentalist belief system where lots of people adopted their kids to get around having sex.

I'm from Utah, and we basically invented this stereotype. It's been a while since I've seen the big dumb hat sketch, so I was starting think I was hallucinating all these Stanley carrying, big hat wearing, "Spiritually Blondes" that seemingly surround me. I feel seen. Thank you SNL.

Our 16 year old granddaughter absolutely had to have a Stanley tumbler in lavender for Christmas. I spent hours and hours looking for one on line. Even had to cancel my credit card over stupidly ordering one from a scam site.
Finally found one in lilac.
And one month after Christmas she has yet to say thank you, although we did get an email picture from her parents of her smiling and holding the cup.
You kinda participated in that and its wild the lengths ppl go for something very specific (lilac) during. Time when demNd was so high. Best to refuse next time because altho im sure shea just being a teen and not ungrateful, it teaches her that following trend and having the latest item is a need and also that to want something is very important. Its not.

I was seasonal employee at Target and didn't know about the craze. First time was when two separate white ladies asked me about the tie dye ones coming out that day, the were at the store as soon as it opened but I couldn't help them. Once I learned about the craze I was more aware and could direct them better when they asked me about it. But one day I say four of them standing by the empty shelf frantically looking up the inventory online, I did an U turn and escaped before they saw me

I'm 49 and in my lifetime there have been plenty of ridiculous fads in America, but I do think this one just might take top prize for absurdity. Lugging an ugly oversized drinking vessel around everywhere. I mean, the pet rock was absurd but its absurdity was actually the reason why it was popular. Everyone knew it was a silly joke. the thing that perplexed me most when i found out about the stanley craze is that they're not even leak proof. i'm not brand loyal or anything but at least my nalgene seals shut and i can throw it into any backpack or purse without batting an eye. the fact that you have to carry these dumb cups upright at all times or they spill everywhere just seems so annoying and pointless to me.
