Thanks for this one John. I was overhauling the same type master cylinder on my 1977 Reliant Scimitar and could not figure how to get the shuttle valve out. A few heavy hits of the cylinder on a block of wood soon had it popping out - Thanks!
I have a 1978 MGB. It came with a Ford Escort break master cylinder that worked horrible. I bought a new master cylinder and servo. I don't know where the vacuum hose from the servo goes. My book shows nothing on it. Where does it connect to?

Do you hone the inside of the master cylinder (like with a wheel cylinder)? My son's 1970 Beetle is very shiny inside.
Question:: I'm missing that metal cap (minute 7:32) Does anyone know where to get one; I can't see it on the parts catalogues either.
