Dude! thanks for the info, I was wondering who that was and I thought I'd have to search all night for the answer but sure enough your comment was first and saved me a lot of time...peace to you!
I saw an interview with Jim a few years ago and he said that he had to sign the equivalent of an NDA with studios that were hiring him as a session guitarist to make sure it never got out who he was actually substituting. There's a LOT of guitar parts on records from the 60's & 70's that he actually played and not the artist on the label or in the band.
Damn, imagine turning on your TV and watching this... People back then were so lucky to have all threse amazing artists making smooth, positive, and pleasing music, with no bad words, no vulgarity, and no pessimism. RIP Burt, and its good to know we still have Tom with us...

@peacenow42 listen, I was born surrounded by the most important people in the second half of the 20th country, not in one, but in three countries, and the first thing I learned from my interaction with them year after year, till my 72 years, today, especially after having 723 classmates before I even went to university, was to never shy away from calling out a person for his best and worst attributes. And Burt falls easily into that kind of analysis because he LOOKS and SPEAKS, AND ACTS as if he was the most normal, one in a billion type of person. Look at that face. Then, try to imagine having a talk with him at an airport VIP lounge, or some place where a celebrity of his statute, but which does not own a plane, or uses it, and you will see the REAL Burt. Tom Jones is the opposite, he shows his devilish nature, publicly, but in person is the kindest, less pompous person you or anyone could wish tp meet. So, in short, you wanted me to be either an optimist or a not well informed type of person, but neither would equal the giving of a REALITY check in Bacharach's case.

The blues they send to meet me,
Won't defeat me,
It won't be long 'till happiness
Steps up to greet me...
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head,
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red,
Cryin's not for me,
'cause, i'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because i'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
Nothin's worryin' me...
But there's one thing, i know,
The blues they send to meet me,
Won't defeat me,
It won't be long 'till happiness
Steps up to greet me . . .
... One two three four
Five six seven eight...
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head,
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red,
Cryin's not for me,
'cause, i'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because i'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
Nothin's worryin' me...
This song makes me remind my childhood..good memories, from Brazil.
I'm from Brazil as well. Today I am 42 years old, but since my 15 years I listen that song and other ones. Definitely, My father has participation on this.
