Light bars will be installed somewhat differently per bumper design. However, the universal aspect of most light bars consists of two end brackets that bolt directly to the light bar, then have 90* feet that bolt to the bumper. We can make a note to feature the actual installation of a light bar in a future video.
Yes! Metal-tech 4x4 is accepting a limited number of installs at this time, to install anything that we sell. Email us to schedule a time at our info@Metaltech4x4.com email.
That's an awesome video for us FJ heads., thanks for this!!! Also do you recommend removing the NEGATIVE from the battery before connecting the harness power ring to the POSITIVE battery terminal? I know you mentioned to be careful since you have the ground connected.
Ahhh but that was not a factory installation. The factory switch should be tied into the vehicle OEM light switch dash illumination harness. I believe that was the fourth wire on the OEM switch connector which you ignored. The OEM switch has 2 sets of LED lights in it. One that comes on when the dash lights are on & another when the switch is the activated on position.
This is a great example of a Factory switch set up custom so it is independently controlled by the switch alone and not if the FJ is on. Much nicer with a light bar for this since you can turn it on w/o the key. Setting up camp, airing up end of a run etc.
....like the 2006 original Toyota Concept FJ Cruiser with the hidden winch mount in the center? Toyota gets the OG card for putting a winch in the middle of the FJC stock bumper. But the first commercial bolt in winch mount was made by Chris Lucrum, known respectfully as the Lucrum winch mount that was discontinued around 2011. All winch mounts in the center of a Toyota front bumper today owe respect to the correct person, Chris Lucrum for the design. MT4x4 did not come out with our winch mount until well after Lucrum Industries closed, out of respect to Chris.
Keep the FJ content coming!
For sure!
Hello from Vancouver WA 👋🏻
Do you have a video about actually installing the light bar? This is great for the wiring info, but ...

Yes, that would be the safest way to do it.
keep these coming!
Nice job and I picked up some good pointers.
Good content thank you. Everything I needed to know.
Glad to hear it! Thanks
How do you activate the clutch or plug in the controller with the light bar there?
No issues activating the clutch
Any advice the lightbar keeps moving up and down when i go offroad so i have to pull.over to make it straight again.
Tighten the bolt the bar pivots on, on each end of the light bar.
