Phew! Just got my brackets and looked at this video and see the difference on that first angle. The one on this video is really short compared to mine so I'm excited that there will be no grinding needed. Got all the gear ready just waiting on some replacement clips for the panels since I hear that its best to prepare for this because they are so delicate and have a high risk of breaking when prying off the panels. So just a few bucks and a few days to avoid a lot of hassle.
@CustomsCarsComputers Thank you very much for creating and sharing this video. I needed this video as it helped me figure out how to remove that cowl part without breaking the clips. Though, I don't think I will be ordering that bracket but It looks great! 👍
Hey man, just wondering where you ran the wiring for the roof mounted light bar? kinda looks like it ran down behind the pillar cover and the cowling you took off.. am i correct in saying that? were there any issues with doing that?
The wires can be easily ran under to cowl, from the passenger side to the drivers side. On the driver, the main harness goes into the firewall there and tou can slip the wires through that inorder to get to a switch on the dash. Let me know if yoh would like a video outling the wiring.
There are a few, db customz makes the best one, but are $120, I know ebay has a few that are alot better, but are also hit or miss, avoid the Amazon ones
DB Customs fit well, but are 120, compared to around 40 for these, Rago fabrication makes some without the FJ cutout block for 80 that also fit well. All depends on what you want/fab experience/whether you want to spend the extra time and energy to get them to fit.
I'd have sent em back. Wont do work on things that should be just bolt on. You paid good money for a product that was poorly engineered then spent your valuable time modifying it to work. Not worth it.
Why not just use risers for the bracket?
haha yeh na fuck that to easy

I'm about to buy the brackets, but after watching your video , no thanks 😂
With material removed off the bracket and the weight of the light fixture does it vibrate while driving with light bouncing around everywhere.

You must do a whole lot of night off roading.
Thanks! This is very useful to me, now I changed my mind to install it.
Same here 😄
will not mod this on my fj, it's #$%^@@#
Thank you for making this dude!
great video , I'm planning to install this and I wanted to install thick 1' grommets instead of washer any thoughts ?
This video was very useful to me! Thanks! Now I just need to buy the brackets!
Perhaps they sent you a defective brackets? I’ve seen other installation where no mods were needed
It was just that brand from amazon, alot of my other fj friends had the same issue
Custom Cars & Computers: I see, I would’ve just returned it then rate it so others won’t buy it. Thanks for the video! Love the FJ
I had the same problem...too short🤦♂️ how can they get it wrong?
I think you just bought a bad bracket. Mine fit. But do you have an electrical install video?
How to I connect the wires? And to what?

Brackets are great. How do you run the wires?

I guess you could change the bolt length and employ some spacers.
Are these the Chinese models?
this cowl piece has a very strong will to stay on the car holy shit
Gool ol' junk yard numbers XD, Thanks for the upload man! Very useful
I need a friend like this guy who has power tools 😂
are you happy with the lights?
what a pain in the ass, wonder if there are any better quality brackets out there.

Robert Wagner will the ones from DB Customs fit without the modifications?

Coulda just added some washers snd a longer bolt.

Why not just use a flashlight out the window to see what’s in the ditch? Just kidding! Thanks for all your efforts! Good video. Cheers!
