This video shows your efforts are paying off. Thank you for taking us on your adventures and I look forward to the next one.

    Thank you for this video. It's doubtful that I'll ever visit England, but that is a walk I'd like to do. As lush as some parts of Washington State.

    It's a beautiful trail, Mary. England, everywhere you go. Always beautiful pads. Especially very clean trials, I am wishing one day, I can visit every trails you had gone. I love the water, love the greens, and love the clear energy. Thank you, showing us these trails. Any advice how to get in UK for hiking of these places?

    The broad leaf plants down by the river almost look like a rain forest. I think I've commented before, but that area reminds me of the Appalachian mountains near my home. Nice video, thanks

    brill vid again mary, wye dale and chee dale are one of the hidden gems of the peak district over looked by the masses that stick to the monsal trail, was over grown like that last year when i did that walk, they are dippers you saw, and they are trout in the rivers, how would you like one of them cottages at wye dale ? i would move into one in the blink of an eye.

    It’s been so fun going along on hikes with you there, so beautiful. Hiking in your country is on our list, but not sure it’s going to be attainable now. If you would like, you can see some hiking here in Alaska on our channel. A bit different here. Thanks for the adventures.

    Uai, você parou de acampar ? A Estrada Real te espera. Have you stopped camping the royal road awaits? Super prepared for various environments. The only place I camped was in my aunt's backyard, I was about 10 years old

    I was a little confused, so I looked it up: This is a completely different River Wye from the one I have seen, which is in the West Country and forms part of the border with Wales. I was thinking for a while that maybe your Wye was the same and maybe originated in the Peak District and flowed SW. But they are completely different watersheds. What a beautiful little river valley. With all of the rock formations, the little bridges and the verdant growth, it almost seemed like a fairy tale environment.

      I thought that myself at first, it’s odd we have the same names for two different places. I’m coming across it a lot recently!

    I enjoy watching your hiking videos, especially the ones where you do not add any music like this video, because it gives a more realistic impression of the surroundings you are hiking in.
    If you still have the original recordings from your PCT thru-hike I will sugest you make a long video (1- 2 hours) of your thru-hike from start to finish without any talking and any added music.

    Hello again Mary Mansfield,
    It's Devon Boy Mike from Chesterfield here, sorry I've not messaged you on UA-cam for a while, sadly I've been struggling with my mental health illness and been in hospital for a bit to get myself better again and to get the help I really needed.
    So I'm now just catching up on your lovely walking videos, and must say, I've started with the best one.
    It looked a beautiful walk, and to be honest I prefer to go out early myself when walking, I think it's best to go out early in the morning when it's nice and fresh and not so busy.
    I've walked the Monsal trail before, because as you know, I've mentioned before that I'm a big Railway buff, but never walked the countryside part, but have known of people who have, and I must say that it looks like a nice walk too.
    Have you had a chance to visit the new cafe/information centre at Miller's Dale old station yet?
    I've been told that it's worth a visit now the place has been done up as somewhere to stop off and have a cuppa.
    I must say that those stepping stones looked a bit dodgy, but I've never seen anyone walk so quickly!!!! As in fast forward made!!! Lol 🤣😆 you must of had your Weetabix that day I must say!!!! Lol 😂
    And I must say that I've never known a person with so much energy and lots of smiles that early in the morning either, what's the secret? Because I could do with some myself at times. Lol 😂
    It's always nice to see a presenter on these videos who has a lovely smile like yourself and who like myself has a great passion for walking.
    Here's one walk which is one of my favourite, but sadly not done for some time, but it's at Matlock in Derbyshire, and is called High Tor and there's a really scary bit called Giddy Edge, not going to spoil the surprise, unless you know about it, but that part of the walk is the best bit, especially if you like a bit of an adventure? 😃 then it brings you out onto a walk called Lovers walk, (which I felt a bit of an idiot walking alone that route, as I'm sadly still single), but after that it brings you out to Matlock Bath, next to the cable cars which go up to the Heights of Abraham and out next to the old fashioned Railway Station which is now open and is a friend's of the Derbyshire Wildlife group and again well worth a visit.
    And then there's another walk in the same area which I enjoy, and that is the Cromford Canal and the Cromford and High Peak Railway, all the way up the village of Middleton.
    So maybe a couple of ideas for your next videos?
    Anyway my lovely, please keep up the good work and I'll look forward to watching your next uploaded video on UA-cam soon.
    All the best from. Devon Boy Mike. xx

      Thanks so much for all your kind words, I’m so sorry to hear you have been struggling though. It sounds like you’ve been having a tough time of it so I hope you are having better days now you’ve had more help.
      I really appreciate your walk ideas, we were there in August last year actually, but I don’t remember the Back Tor or Giddy Edge so I’ll have to revisit that! I’ve never visited the Cromford Canal so I’ll look into that one too.
      I hope you have a wonderful week and manage to get out for a walk yourself. Take care of yourself 😊

    Hi Mary your walk by the river wye , wye dale, Chee dale, & millers dale , ? we are coming back to the peak district in May based in Bakewell would love to do that walk you did absolutely lovely beautiful scenery ! is it easy enough to find from Bakewell ? thanks keep up the good work love your video's .

    • @MarysOutdoorAdventures
      @MarysOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Russ, yes it is very easy to find and is one road from the centre of Bakewell. It should take around 15mins in the car by heading North West straight along the A6 until you get to a laybay opposite a farm called Topley Head Farm. (The laybay is called Chee Dale Laybay and the postcode is SK17 9TF - you can see it on a map) Then head down the path at the corner of the laybay into the valley and follow the path all the way down, then down a bit more to a bridge - then you are at the River Wye. Have a great time!

      Thanks Sarah L, it was nice to do one without music. When I do add music it’s because quite often I’m trying to block out that awful wind noise across the camera!

      @@MarysOutdoorAdventures aha I didn’t realise it was a cover😁. I thought the rode wireless mic really helped with that, I have one just not tried it much when hiking.

    Mary: Just wondering what agencies are responsible for maintaining the trails you're hiking on?

    • @MarysOutdoorAdventures
      @MarysOutdoorAdventures  3 роки тому

      As far as I am aware it is a mixture of land owners (as most areas are privately owned), government bodies and local councils. Also places like the National Trust which is a charitable organisation as well as volunteers.
