I watched this video with great interest because that strip on my Volvo XC90 are all failing and I needed to do something about it. I think I would have left the black vinyl strip on the trim. I’m going to black out all my chrome trim and rims for a new look but I don’t want to spray paint them. Probably I will end up covering it with vinyl tape.
When ordering replacement parts I read reviews that said there were instructions on UA-cam and called out that you must remove the side mirror. This was EXCELLENT tutorial that even a non-technical guy like me can follow, down to using the microfiber towel to protect the door paint from the disassembled side mirror. Make sure you use a good trim tool like the one in this video.
This video may have saved my marriage lol! My wife has been on me about replacing the weather stripping on the doors of her 07 CRV since late last summer. This video was the best I found on how to easly quickly replace them. Thanks!
Thank God for this video because my ones need to be replaced and because of the water going through it damaged all my door speakers that I just replaced! So lesson learned 😤
I like your video I didn’t know you could replace the weatherstripping moldings on this car now that I looked it up thank you I am going to buy me some new weatherstripping for my 2010 Honda CRV EXL
Thank you Sir, but you did it very easily, if I try it, it won't be as easy. I wish your workshop was in my city. I can't find these weatherstripping even on Amazon for Honda Odyssey. Thank you
Awesome video ! Well done! My 2007 crv needs all weather stripping around windshield as well and rear window . Do you have other videos on how to? Thanks !
This is one of the best how-to videos I have ever watched. Thanks. Great job. Question: Should I go with Honda OEM of the less expensive after market ones?
Thanks this helped a lot. My only mistake was waiting until after the driver's window trim was installed before removing the plastic protective film on the new trim. One also has needs to compare the new and the old trim tab locations on the rear window trim as both have the same end cap slants on them. Now I need to find a video on how to replace the exterior trim on the trunk windows. I am very disappointed on all the problems we have had with the CRV to include paint failing at 10.5 years, wheel bearings, tire sensors, speakers... I'm done with buying Honda.
Bro!! Searched all over to find a video like this! Gracias! Hey I'm assuming that the process is the same for Odyssey. I'm gonna make a video to help others like you did for me. 👍
Great tutorial! Replaced the drivers window however the green clips just won't snap into place...black clips are in but there is some wiggle where the greens are. Any suggestions?
Not replacing these can lead to a wet floor after a heavy rainfall. Check your floors for dampness after heavy rain. Your back carpets may be wet and you don't even know it. Also smell for mold near the carpet area.
I have seen and read some aftermarket suppliers dint clip in well or weather felting does not seat at window...can you specify where to get the parts from?
Hard to say. However, when installing , the only way to do it properly is to remove the door panel to get the clips to lock in properly. @@projectnerdvana2820
This video was perfect!! I’m a 47 year old female and was able to do this with your instructions. My old pieces didn’t pop off so easily though, what is the window tool kit that you use? Next up is my daughters 2013 Honda Civic...is it the same process? Thanks again!!!
Anyone have a link to these exact ones? There are a few options, some that people say are not the right length, so I want to make sure I get ones that will work. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this. Great info! I just bought some replacement strips and was wondering how to get the fronts on. Will a plastic spudger from a smartphone repair kit work for prying off the mirror cover and old strips?
Better thing to do is get a plastic pry tool (kit) from any auto parts store or online. They are really cheap and can reduce the chances of damage to the paint.
Excellent. Not a lot of unnecessary stuff at start, no annoying music, just a simple, straight forward, to the point "how to" . Bravo
Yes, you're right, I hate those annoying music at the startup.

O wow nice 👍🔥🔥🔥😎 thanks 🤝
I tried to replace the weather strips without removing the mirrors. You have to remove the mirrors
😅
Excellent video bro that’s exactly what people is looking for fast to the point…
Outstanding video. Thank you for taking the time to explain replacing these parts so clearly!
Just did my 07', I believe they were the original and they were hella hard to get out :) but we got em' - thanks!
Good job. Clear, concise & to the point. Thanks pal.
Many thanks for a straightforward and very clear description.🙂

Man this is the best video. Straight to the point. Great explanation! Thank you!!
Thank you for posting this. I just ordered the part and hope to try this over the weekend. Again, thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. They wanted to charge me $100 per window. I'll pay less than $50 for the parts and sweat equity.

Thx for sharing this video. I was in the impression of taking the door panel as per instructions from the service manual.

Lol @ being upset with maintenance at 10+ years
We're just considering a replacement for a 2001 CR-V we've owned from new. It hasn't missed a beat in 23 years.
Great video. Thank you for taking the time to explain replacing these parts! Is there a method for leaving a $ thanks?

Shoot, the mirror bolt felt into the door. Other that that, worked smoothly.
Same, did you have to take off the door paneling to get it out? 😭 I think I will have to do that
@@sheluvsmenotu I left it in there. Just buy another bolt and don't worry about it.
@@BruceRicard What if im not sure what type of bolt it needs? Sorry im not really a mechanic or anything, how could I go about finding the specifics?
Thanks bro, I was about to take the dang door panels off. I couldn't find the molding trim for my Ody though, I could only find the rubber parts.
Great tutorial. Simple and to the point. What's the part number for the strips? 05 Honda crv ex

Sorry if this is a silly question, but what is the tool kit that includes the tool to remove the old weatherstrips?
Very nice video I’m just wondering would it be the same procedure for a Mk2? Thanks
I found out the hard way it's not there's a screw at one end and that caused a big problem
Salute bro I see your channel getting bigger
The Mel Man Yes sir for sure is growing bro
Have you ever replaced the tailgate weatherstripping on the CRV?
I though it was more too it. Good looks, I appreciate it.
Apprecite this video. What do you call the plastic tool set you have used to remove the weatherstrip?
I think they’re calles Plastic Pry tools

Nice presentation 👏 👌 👍
Does the 1st gen crv have this weather strip? Mine doesn't seem to be interchangeable.
What tool kit are you using to do the job where can I get that kind of tool kit thank you
Where can I get that plastic tool you used to snap the molding off of the door ?
Where can I buy these parts for my 2006 honda accord? Does anybody know?
ebay
@@PaulSmithDYL you think the aftermarket one's on eBay might be better or will eventually crap out too?
