  • Welcome back to the channel, today i take a visit to the Lady Buddha and Chua Linh Ung Monument in Da Nang, Vietnam!
    In this video, i explore the beautiful Lady Buddha and Chua Linh Ung Monument, one of the most iconic landmarks in Da Nang. Located on the Son Tra Peninsula, the Lady Buddha is a magnificent statue that stands at a towering 67 meters tall. It is considered the tallest Buddha statue in Vietnam, and is a symbol of peace, compassion and love.
    To get to the Lady Buddha, you take the winding roads up the Son Tra Mountain. Once i reached the entrance i was greeted with some Monkeys hanging around and looking for food. I then reached the entrance of the monument, where i was greeted by the sound of Buddhist chants and the fragrance of burning incense.
    As i walked towards the statue, I was amazed of its size and. The Lady Buddha is made of white marble, which glistened in the sunlight, and is surrounded by a peaceful garden and a pagoda. I climbed up the stairs to the base of the statue, where I could see the intricate details of the Buddha's robes and the serene expression on her face.
    After spending some time at the Lady Buddha, I then made my way to the Chua Linh Ung Monument, which is just a short walk away. This monument is a beautiful complex of Buddhist temples and pagodas, with stunning views of the ocean below.
    So whether you are a history buff, a culture lover or just looking for a peaceful and scenic spot to unwind, the Lady Buddha and Chua Linh Ung Monument are definitely worth a visit.

    It's a relief to see the end of the selfie sticks within these attractions. Still, watching them tour guides waving their flag poles, I become like a raging bull. Want to shove them where the sun doesn't shine. Omm, peaceful and serine location, Wayne

    Thanks again Wayne. It was interesting to see what the tourists were up to. And when you said things seem a bit more serious in Vietnam than Thailand, that's my recollection from my long ago time in VN, People were friendly and back then before Da Nang and Hanoi became Tourist Hot beds I was a bit surprised by how many locals were overjoyed to and happy to meet a foreigner. Also, if you can, I'd appreciate your take on accommodation. I was chatting with an American ex-pat who been in Da Nang for about 5 years and he's expecting to see accommodation prices to increase dramatically when VN goes back to 90 day visas He also had the following to say in regards to what many first time nomads encounter and I was hoping it not the norm with rentals:
    "One of the biggest issues is people seem happy to pay close to what they'd pay in the west for some places here, but then get annoyed when the apartment leaks, has mold everywhere and zero soundproofing so you can hear your neighbors sneezing in every room! Landlords love the fresh off the boat foreigners, who are happy to pay in USD and don't know much about the real rental prices. I suppose you can't blame them as they're in it to make money. Agents will push prices as much as they can here, often with dual pricing for locals and foreign customers."

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  Рік тому +2

      It's a tough one with the accommodation, because the visas are so short, it's hard for me to judge what a longer term price would be. It's still pretty cheap, but I booked a short time here with booking..com, so I'm paying more than i would if i was going around looking for a deal. I have a couple room reviews coming soon but i haven't had time to go around doing proper reviews.
      IMO this place will be the new go to place in the near future, so prices will defo only go up.
      Cheers man.

    How long would you suggest to stay in Da Nang?
    Does is feel safe there at all times for a foreigner?

      Thanks Mark, great to have you on the channel mate. Da Nang is great. You could stay the full month there easily ( only 1 month visas at the moment) but at least a week to see some things. Da Nang is very safe and the people super friendly. The sellers can be a bit pushy though , so you can get ripped off if your not careful. Top city though 👍
