Thanks for the hotel reviews. I've been planning a workation in Da Nang for a few weeks. I also settled on the Draco Hotel and Suites and the room also only cost $28 US with breakfast. It was also highly rated on TripAdvisor.
Hi, we stayed at the Cordial Hotel... so our first impression was amazing. We were received very nicely by the staf, got a welcome drink and though we were two hours early, we could check in after 15 minutes. The hotel was everything you mentioned, but with a few things I didn't like. The pool had an amazing view. But the floor of the pool itself felt like it hadn't been cleaned for a while, soft like there were algae growing in it. The room we had was great. It felt like old times when I was working as a flight attendant and stayed mainly in hotels like Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton etc... The fitness room was a disappointment. No air-conditioning and very small. And if I'm correctly not even windows... it looked more like a room that had no purpose and got some fitness equipment. I was not able to do anything there. The breakfast had many choices, but hardly anything for westerners. Except for the eggs there was not much that was appealing to me. We stayed three nights at the Wink hotel in the centre of the town before and that was much better, except for the location and the small (but very well equipped) room, for a similar price. In the lobby and in the restaurant there seemed to be a problem with the plumbing, because there was a smell of poo hanging around at certain areas of the room. When we checked out, the clerk tried to convince us to book transport to the airport via her and said that I would pay more than if I would do it myself. That was not true, I paid a little less and was even willing to pay more, because I prefer to have the Grab-booking on my phone and not on hers. In that way I can control better what is happening. The taxidriver asked about 10.000 Don less than she said it would cost. Not much, but honest. We had no really bad experiences, but decided that we (my wife and I live in Thailand) not go back to Vietnam. We like Malaysia for a holiday much better.
@@TravelwithCoconutJoe I guess at my age I'm learning a lot about my own limitations. One of them is that year round high heat and humidity in the countries I like based on watching videos. I just don't think I can take it or take being confined to air conditioning!
The Charming Beauty Hotel is well maintained and great bang-for-buck. Avoid the double balcony if possible because it introduces more noise from outside. The only real con to this hotel is the hot lobby. The lobby is beautiful with plenty of seating area, but management only turns the AC on for like 2hrs a day.
Most budget hotels in Danang only run their AC’s on the hottest days for a few hours a day, if you expect them to do it all day every day it would increase the price of your stay by 30%. Not that hard to figure out if you apply just a small amount of common sense. Duh.
Really we liked both of them. The Draco had the nice big breakfast but smaller room and no balcony. The Charming -no breakfast but could open up the patio door and have air flow, more spacious and new.
Hi, yes I agree. We didn't have a concrete plan to start a channel when we went so recorded everything incorrectly ! But we are learning as we go along, thanks for the feedback ( :
I challenge you to show me where I can get an apartment for one month in the same area with the same level of comfort for USD$150. Best I've found so far is almost 1km away and three times that cost.
While apartments can indeed be cheaper, some of us won't be staying for a full month in Da Nang to get the bigger discount, and some of us also appreciate the better service a hotel provides. When things go wrong in an Airbnb it can often take much longer to get issues resolved than in a hotel.
The last place you stayed in was pretty sweet ! Nice video, good info, thanks for sharing....
Yes it was, thanks

Charming Hotel will remember it for future
Great video thumbs up.
Thank you
Could you talk about the heat and humidity in Danang and how it compares to elsewhere?
ok, thanks for the input. I will try to cover weather in a future video

So did you like Draco or Charming hotel better?
Really we liked both of them. The Draco had the nice big breakfast but smaller room and no balcony. The Charming -no breakfast but could open up the patio door and have air flow, more spacious and new.
All the hotels look so nice!
They are!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching. . Hopefully you stay at one of these places and enjoy it like we did!
Number 21 Sub how cool is that !
Yay ! Thanks
I was there a month ago and all 3 hotels I stayed at one block from the beach were $20 and all included breakfast. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else
That's great..
Great... but.... please don't use a vertical image. Does not look good.

We ❤ Danang like you guys🎉🎉🎉
Awesome
Nice 🎉
Thanks
I paid 5X more 15 yrs ago. Supplies and demands. There weren't too many hotels back then.
Wow, that's interesting
They have apartments for as low as $150 US a month. Many have workout equipment and rooftop pools. People who choose hotels are wasting money.

$17 a night at Draco Hotel? Best I can find for this hotel is more than double that. 😢
Hi the Grand SeaView was $17 ... Draco was $30-$40
Try gold time. …£8
DRACO is nowhere near that price now. :-(
Oh darn
👍🏽😊
