Thx for the vid Jerry. I did see you down at the water when I was driving by on the bridge the other day. Always a treat to watch your videos. C u on the water.
Hi Jerry, I went fluke fishing today on my friend's boat. We drifted the bay and creeks near Ocean City, NJ. We used the typical Hi-Lo rigs with teasers. I used one of your felt teasers on the bottom with Fish Bites Squid and Gulp on the top teaser. I usually catch on the top teaser. Today I caught 2 on the top teaser and 2 on the bottom felt teaser. Three of the 4 fish bit the Fish Bites. Your felt teaser worked great and I think the Fish Bites Squid did better than the Gulp. My friend caught one fluke on the top teaser using Gulp and real cut squid. I only used a 1 inch piece of Fish Bite on a barbless 4/0 circle hook. I think I'm going to use Fish Bites a lot more. Thanks, Mickey
Man that sounds good I should use the felt more it sounds like it certainly works great with GULP and those fish bites I should check out too. Always an awesome day out fishing and thanks for sharing mickey! Your the tops!
Hi Jerry, Just wanted to let you know how good your felt trailers worked and that the Fish Bites Squid worked really well. I'm going to get some Crab Fish Bites and see how they work. Thanks, Mickey
Nice video! We went Thursday and there was So many Sea Robins then after the sun went down a total mosquito attack I am still scratching ...They were waiting for us at the restrooms too ha ha . They were hitting on the clams too I lost a few bigger fish that might have been flukes.
Oh man they got me the beach day good! I could not count the number of times I was bit seriously must have been 100 going and coming from the ocean and they followed my a good half mile till they dispersed! I feel your pain literally! Sho7uld be some better fluke soon had a few close ones much better then before. Thanks as always Steve!
We have some good weather for the beach this week too! I am away but hope to get back to the tail end of it before the end of the week. Thanks a bunch Zigma!
Hey fellow fisherman ! Love your videos👌🏼 I just started fishing out in jones beach went out today to the inlet caught a couple small fluke and a keeper 19 almost 20 inches. Really a great spot your vids are very helpful just want to say thank you sir 👍🏼 Tight lines!
Good rig Jerry. I think a lot of people think "false albacore" when it comes to the epoxy, but bass, fluke and blues all like it too. I'm convinced it's the farthest casting lure for its weight also. Teasers are rarely a bad idea also. I've even been using two fly/lure rigs in freshwater fishing lately. Got some fat sunfish this weekend in an Adirondack lake on a Seaducer (a salt fly!) and a tiny caddis nymph (kinda like a hare's ear nymph). Fish Jones Beach baby! (...and Jones Inlet...and some back bays...and the piers...😄) Tightest... Frank
Hi Frank and thanks and always look forward to hearing from you always learn something from your shares. I used to use these often way more then any other rig and had some bigger fluke in the past just because I fished for them more often. Gonna use it again soon and have some fun I recall limits with 4-8lb fluke in the past but every year is each its own. Was on the susquehanna this weekend but it was way high for bass on the bank should have went catfishing but wound up doing much the sam went to a local lake and had small bluegills though with a stimulator on top. Best fishing to you as always! Jerry
Hi Peter and thanks so much. If you do not mind walking almost every beach has hidden gem spots away from crowds and hold fish. just take a walk down any of the beaches youll see what I mean
Jerry, that was a great video! I always use a bucktail jig and gulp for fluke. I never thought about using a epoxy jig and teaser. that was great to see and educational. Jerry when you fish this way are you doing a straight steady retrieve or do you give the epoxy jig and teaser an occassional twitch? I assume your keeping this rig very close to the bottom? Thanks brother
Thanks! They work great when fish are active in summer. As the retrieve I do vary. Sometimes slow and steady sometimes fast. Pauses and counts like 2 -3 -2 -3 or 6 - 6 - 6 - 6, the dashes are pauses. Generally the key is to feel the bottom so the deeper the water the longer the pause or faster the current the longer the pause before you tap. I just have fun with it but there is certainly a feeling when you work. Hope some helps and great question, thanks again!
Hi Jerry, Great results on the epoxy jig. Looks like you had the right combo of jig and teaser. Do you have a new rod? I don't see the tape on the grip. Another interesting video. Thanks, Mickey
Hi Mickey how is it going! thats one of my casting rods to get it a bit out and fish all day its pretty light! The old tape on the grip gave it away! When I get the chance hope to throw some chunks out next week
Question about the epoxy jig...1) are you dragging it in the sand or swimming it ? 2) if you are swimming it ..where in the water column are you swimming it ?
Not really dragging it more of a bottom tap and crank. When on the jig I ride slightly above bottom with slight pauses. On the teaser you can actually let it sit the water currents give the teaser a great action. But I try to keep it near the bottom all the time. Good question!
Hi Jerry.. I learned from a pro on Distance casting techniques.. look him up and check his vids out.. BREAKAWAYTACKLE.COM.. he's an Aussie that now lives in Tx.. Big surf fisherman.. Good person & willing to help in anyway he can.. Tight Lines! Joe
good fishing and hands as steady as a brain surgeon lol
Its a tough condition to go through life with but I deal. Dr's say things they can do to help but I say fuck I have gone this long
great video. teasers work real good.
Thanks Mario! they are great one of my favorite things to get at them with a staple of mine!

master easy setup very interesting
To make it simpler you can just use a sinker and teaser! But I prefer the jig it catches fish too thank you Hassan
great video! I have yet to go out there! Darn! Perfect weather too!
We have some good weather for the beach this week too! I am away but hope to get back to the tail end of it before the end of the week. Thanks a bunch Zigma!

Thanx man! I was at the upper end of the Susquehanna about the same time... Otsego Lake. Didn't get to fish though...
I took a wrong turn on the way back and almost was in binghamton!
...where you'd find another River! 😊
Way to go Jerry. Hope to meet up someday. Bare foot fishing is the best.
My favourite way to fish too Jack, you just cant beat it when the weather allows even nice in the rain!
Hey Jerry! Great videos. What beach do you fish off of that there are no people around. Looking to find a new spot. Thanks!

Let me know how you did! thanks for watching!

Hey jerry what was your retrieve speed?
Cancel that question The video finally finished I had an issue finishing the video my WiFi was a little wonky
Thanks Reg, one thing I dod do often is change it time to time
At 1:10 you're fishing barefoot. Would it be dangerous to step on a Stargazer?
I never thought about that! YES, it would not be very good shoes on next time or at least I will try! stay well ted!
Jerry
where did you park to get there
You can park at any of the lots steve just have to use a permit after dark if you plan to fish at night
where is there legal parking if you can share that info
You can park any where in the lots and walk down you just need a permit for night. They are all over the area now and can be caught about everywhere
