HUGE SHOREMAT Fluke (Summer Flounder) from the Surf!!!

We are just days away from the opener across the tri-state area, and here is a video from the vault to whet your appetite - a SHOREMAT fluke caught from the suds! The gold standard for shore fluking is to accumulate the number of shoremats (25"+ fluke) over the lifetime. And proper documentation is imperative to keep the integrity of the sport.

Are you casting it just behind the beach lip? I think I cast too far.

It's worth casting into the trough and working the jig back to the lip. There's no such thing as casting to far. While you an score a big fluke in the trough, some of the biggest fluke are caught right at the lip. You just need to maximize the float time between the crashing of the waves and the following undertows. Will cover more of that in subsequent videos.

Changing of tide, time of day amongst other things. But I sense an urgency to a window that's closing fast.
