Tilt the bucket forward and pull back use the bucket as a rake. That way you can pull debris back from the foundation without having to get off and do it by hand. Of course you’ll have to do some work cleaning but not as much. Let the sun shine in, cut those big trees down holding all the moisture in there, especially over the roof.
I would recommend spraying out the full yard where nuisance plants are growing with some glyphosate herbicide a few passes to kill off all vegetation. Once a few passes are sprayed give yourself some really high quality sod for ground cover get it super clean and level. Blanket spray permeferin for bugs get some from tractor supply in the concentrate and spray monthly to keep the bugs at bay. Harbor freight has a cheapo backpack sprayer to get started and upgrade to a high quality sprayer later.
Great to see you are putting those machines to work 👍 definitely back savers for sure! Looking forward to more work videos when you get time. It’s great to see the place getting cleaned up 👍
thanks, very curious to see what machine you bought. I am happy with my purchase but i am seeing little details on mine that are fixable with mods, but seem to come as options on other machines, pressure relief in the auxiliary, pressure gauges, fuel gauge
Maybe I am missing something. I loooked and they are like 160… the idea is good but maybe I ll pick up a universal car fuel pump and just use that .. but thank for the suggestion
I'm pretty sure you'd be quicker with a wheel barrow and the shovel. You need to get some seat time on that equipment. Try doing a timelapse and just spend 3 hrs continuous on a machine at a time. Also use the bucket backwards pressing down from the house to pull away, then scoop up
i probably am faster with a shovel... years of experiance there. am already taking your advice in this video, finding simple projects where i can't do too much damage and learning the machines. But thanks for the tip too, using the bucket that way makes sense
Go to harbor freight and get you some jeep bumper j hooks and bolt them to the bucket… much stronger just saying from my 45 years of of running equipment
@@betweenthesharksgarage go watch papa junk and see how he built his mower head for his mini might give you a really good idea for you to build one I built mine using a separate engine to run the hydraulic pump for my mower head on my mini
Be careful tracking up there in the vines you don't want to get them wrapped around the tracks and underneath the machine to be a nightmare but since you got that thumb attachment grip it with the thumb attachment and track yourself back and see what routes will break just start to see if it's kind of pulling down on anything and that's when you'll know how strong the roots are
Loved the video can’t wait until the house and shop get done that truck will be cool to get running and that lil motor home be cool to see what in that with full build too
I think the teeth thing would work better if you used a sleeve around the bolt and a nut on the end. Grade 8 bolts have a lot of tension strength but the are brittle when they start to bend.
When pullong hard with the mini drop the blade into the dirt. Get a 32 inch muck buck ,it will help alot on this job. Only way to be any good running a machine is to put your butt in the seat and go forth and learn. Proud of the honest truth you speak. Poison Ivy is a diaster for sure.
I'm along for the RIDE ! I Diffently don't envy you, BUT you're doing a darn good job ! ! ! I'd much rather watch Hot Rod Builds, but this is a challenge I want to witness! Newk from Kentucky
i appreicate you sticking with me you have been there since the beginning.. we are not giving up on the hot rod builds at all, but right now i have time(barely) to make a video a week and I gotta get this property to some kinda stasis.. but i miss working on the t
George, George, George of the jungle, Watch out for that TREE !!. ............ Still thinkin' goats. ... God cover your rear. Still like the can do mentality
@@betweenthesharksgarageGet a tooth bar or cutting edge on there pretty soon or that bottom edge of your bucket will lose its straight edge, get thinner from backdragging and be more likely to bend.
Teeth for the bucket isnt that mostly for digging? I think a bucket without teeth is a better choice for you for the things that you are doing with it so far.
Kinda. It helped to grab the wisteria. Someone commented and suggested jeep tow hooks from harbor freight for the job. Brilliant and way cheaper. I picked a few up
Tree work there must be much cheaper than here in NW MT. Was quoted $1000 just to take down a 3 stem fir with about 36" butt. That didn't include cleanup, only putting chunks on the ground. That was motivation enough for me to buy an elderly Ford 4500 diesel backhoe and learn to use it. You can take down all but the worst leaners/heartrotted trees yourself with a 24' ladder, a rope winch, 200' of rope, a couple of straps, a few pullies, a sharp chainsaw, 3 wedges and YT tutorials...
The backhoe was for the stump, cleaning up the branches and to skid the logs to my bandmill. Already paid for itself a few times (lots of house-threatening trees, all gone now and have carved out an additional 1000sq ft of backyard from the hillside behind).
Craig put the bucket up tilt it forward drop it down and use the back drag method instead of trying to fill bucket
Exactly what I was thinking (yelling!)😊
Yeh, back dragging 100%

Use your thumb on your excavator to grip stuff and pull it out
I love this series
Thanks dude
When are you going to fix the house?
Me too so ready to see more!

Harbor freight sells a battery operated fuel transfer pump cheap that will help tremendously fuel those things. I keep several for backups
Maybe I am missing something. I loooked and they are like 160… the idea is good but maybe I ll pick up a universal car fuel pump and just use that .. but thank for the suggestion
I know it's too late but check into a forestry mulcher for that type of work if you have to repeat the process.
They are awesome but they are soooo expensive.
Looks like the machines worked pretty good. Worth the money.
So far so good They are for sure helping me out
Maybe try softer bolts, grade 8 is hard, but brittle on shearing. Low grade will bend, not shear off
interesting thought

Get one of those battery powered pumps at Harbor Freight (AKA Horrible Fright), it will simplify fueling that skidsteer.

That foundation! OUCH!
she is hurt... we ll fix it

very impressive and very fun to watch. the property is like my abandoned cow town house. the whole village is a bamboo forest now.
thanks man, bamboo seems to be a similar challenge to these vines
Flail mower attachment would work great for your situation.
I think you are right. I have been trying to find one for machines this small. No luck yet but there is for sure a market out there for it
Drop your bucket at a 90 and back up to scrape out
thats smart i ll try it
I'd be extending those drive handles on excavator!! Looks uncomfortable bent over while driving forward/backwards.
that s a pretty good idea, they are a little touchy as well.
Definitely working good for you so far For sure
use fire maybe? but i fear it would catch more than wisteria and stuff
Not sure all your viewers are "fellas." Thanks for helping me decide about getting a Chinese excavator.
I ll try to be more careful about that, thanks for watching glad it helped
If you looked up, that was probably soffit that fell off?
I like it when you work on your car.
i appreciate you saying that, i cant wait to get back to the t
Looks like a job for some Landscape youtubers like Al Bladez :)
i gotta get them to call me

Why aren't u using the thumb on the bucket?

You should go around all the trees with a hand say cutting the ivy at the base of the trees
It’s on the list lol
Great video again.
thanks man
How does the travel speed of the mini skid compare to the mini ex? Two times faster? Any speed spec in the manual?
No spec that I saw but the mini skid is way faster. May have to do with the dual pump vs single. But can’t say for sure

the goats were a great idea... and it would be rad having goats around, but by george , expensive
Your wisteria ripper outer is your thumb and bucket.
That left earring. Lmao
Don't forget that you have a thumb on your excavator.
There is a replaceable cutting edge blade that goes on the bottom of the bucket. It fits between the teeth and bucket.
interesting is that what the bolt holes are, the edge is welded on this one... or is that not an edge blade at all

Coming along. U'll be drawing attention now I hope u put a deer cam up or something......just saying👍👍
Hey this might be a good idea. Maybe you should move into this place once you get it just about done and you can live at the property 🤷♂️
we might just do it, the property has a lot of potential

I like the videos but it would be great to see more work less talk
Fair enough thanks for watching
have a word with next door about getting rid of all the trees on the property line you never know they may say go for it
