Slipknot PARTS WAYS with JAY WEINBERG?!?!?!?!?!
This can't be jays decision, he has loved slipknot basically his whole life and it was his dream to join the band.
Could also be he's gotten disillusioned for being in the band for ten years. I doubt it's the case, but one could never know
It never is. Taylor and Crahan are businessmen over anything.
@@jensen1646but what clown and Corey saw in terms of business firing Jay? I don’t understand
Jay was in the band for 10 years. Maybe he asked for a raise or something who knows.@@ruanfelipeax
It could be Jay's decision. Slipknot is a band, without a sequel, unfortunately. The end so far is probably their last album, maybe there will be another one, no more. Jay is young, i think he want create something new
Got rid of a dude with more passion for the band than the damn OGs still in it. Crazy shit man.
Also, I don’t think Jay is even 30 years old yet, or maybe right at.
This. Drumming is a thankless job. If you find an excellent drummer, hold on and don’t ever let go
@@digitalxspectre he’s 33 but still. He’s the youngest out of all of the members I think.
@@arabclipzy1615 yeah aren’t they all pushing 50?
might've been his call leaving. or he was toxic, either way i doubt that this was made without good reasoning.
It’s been a good run boys. RIP slipknot. Their last hoorah was We are not your kind.
I mean, The End So Far was pretty good too. Probably not better, but it was still a decent album
@@Pogohgit wasn’t
Agreed.
We Are Not Your Kind is the best of the post-Joey and Paul material, but it still pales in comparison to their first 4 records. Slipknot hasn't made a great record since 2008.
Imo .5 was their big album really liked it last 2 albums Zzzz.
Paul dies, Joeys fired, Chris is fired, Joey dies, Craig is fired, now Jays been fired.
“This is the end of everything”
I'm 90% sure that craig left on his own terms but yeah, this is the beginning of the end for them. Clown and Corey fucked the band in the ass with this "Creative Dissension"
Good one
@@Kona4404I need you to send that pfp to all your friends and family
I could take it or leave it with them parting ways with Craig. But Jay has become such an essential part of their new sound, and he was the perfect successor to Joey. If it turns out that it was amicable and that Jay left on his own terms, that's fine. But he was literally just playing with them FRIDAY, and he just changed his profile after Halloween back to his Slipknot attire. It's not likely he wasn't kicked.
opposite for me as regards craig i identified with him for whatever reason and it just looks strange not to see the guy with the needle mask in the photos.
with jay it seems a strange one will be interesting to see who can replace him.
Lol, yeah. I loved craig and felt like I could relate to him on so many levels even though he was pretty much silent and very little was known about him😂. Still get this weird, happy feeling when I see him in the videos and stuff but it’s sad to think that I will never see him live again 😞. Be interesting to find out more about Jays case and if they have someone as backup/a replacement as it definitely doesn’t seem as planned out as craig’s was 🤔@@SuperClarky666
They literally did the same thing to Joey. Instead of helping him they just emailed him and said your finished go fuck yourself pretty much. Its just Slipknot showing their true colors. The brotherhood is dead and they rather focus on being a franchise
I'm shocked more than I am heartbroken. I love Jay's drumming and will continue to follow his career, wherever that may be, and I love Slipknot's music and will continue to follow the band. It's a shame that they split ways but I know things will continue on, so there's no reason to be heartbroken. I'm just shocked with how sudden it is.
I respect your opinion but to me, as a fan for more than 20 years, it seems like Corey and Clown are seeing Slipknot as a business only and they are making decisions based on that only leaving the music part behind. To me Slipknot started to die Yesterday.
Absolutely gutted he carried the band the last ten years
Yeah bro this shit sucks
lol what? he did no such thing...
that's some actual retardation my friend.
@@spet59youre right their new music always sucked
@@ThyFilthyCasualThen your obviously not a fan😂
I honestly can't see any other living drummer being nearly as good of a fit for the band. He far exceeded any expectations anyone could have possibly had of him as their drummer at basically any point in time. This honestly has me kinda shook not gonna lie.
I don't know if it would or could happen, but I think Alex Rudinger might be the only person that comes to mind that could possibly be a good drummer for Slipknot. But Jay's story was so perfect, and he played the parts super well.
El estepario would be a direct replacement and to be honest nobody would deserve it more
@@williamcollects393 well now my curiosity is peaked. Im gonna have to check him out because that's some pretty high praise all things considered lol.
Aoyama Hideki from Kami Band comes to mind. That dude is a beast
brandon pertzborn
Theres just no way that Jay left the band, he was definitely fired because of that Corey/Clown dictatorship within the band. Jay loved Slipknot, Jay worked so hard to be in Slipknot and did an absolutely incredible job in the band. He was so proud of his work, proud of his masks, proud of his legacy, and most importantly, he was voted best drummer 2 years in a row. I believe that he was fired to make room for other musicians that Shawn knows from previous bands or because of jealousy from Shawn. For Slipknot then to mention Joey in the statement as if Jay was only there to fill Joey's shoes and not create his own legacy, and to mention Joey as if Slipknot didn't kick him out and say bad things about him in the past before Joey died, is such a low blow to Joey's name and Jay's efforts. I know that many people love Slipknot and probably won't feel the same feeling I have about the band especially while knowing that Slipknot will continue, but if Slipknot disbanded today, I wouldn't care, and I would be absolutely fine with it. 3 firings in 4 years tells us that there is a massive problem within the band that isn't something to do with the guys that were fired. Shawn takes a lot of time off from the band and in my opinion, has a very small contribution to the band these days. I think that he knows that perfectly well and fires people to make room for his friends so that Slipknot can never fire him. They also only just finished the tour cycle for The End, So Far this past week. This was definitely orchestrated by certain other individuals. The whole thing about "creative differences" and Slipknot wanting to "evolve" is just disrespectful, Jay Weinberg is the kind of person who would have done anything for Slipknot, even if it meant changing styles, writing songs that were different from anything they've done before, and changing image, he is wholesome, he is a family man but was so dedicated to Slipknot, he is so diverse and took on every challenge handed to him. Those words alone in that statement tell me that they are replacing him with someone else and the last time Slipknot fired someone and had a replacement on hand, was the Chris Fehn/Tortilla man thing, and Tortilla man came directly from Shawns other band 🤷🏼♂️
I feel exactly the same. Joey's name should've never even been mentioned in that post. Disrespected both of them.
@@TheOneTrueAJ Definitely disrespectful to both of their names. Disrespectful to denounce Jay's legacy and time in the band as living in Joey's shadow, and disrespectful of Slipknot to mention Joey after they kicked him out and degraded him publicly before he died and then began the pity party afterwards. Every person in Slipknot are clowns now.
@@Kengoorooshkanobody in slipknot ever degraded Joey before he died your making shit up. I get you are still not over how he was let go but he couldn’t stay and play the way he needed to play anymore and he was unreliable as a person by that point. Corey never flat out said he was on drugs but other band members have and even sinsaneum loosely alluded to that in their statement when Joey died
Paul, Joey, Chris, Craig, Jay.
The line from "Til we die" is starting to sound pretty hollow at this point. "Don't go on without me, the piece that I represent compliments each and everyone"
Makes no sense… completely shocked. He’s so incredible. Literally the metal drummer of the year 🙃
Look, he was a good fit for Slipknot's style and played Joey's parts well enough. But drummer of the year? There are countless guys that can play circles around him and make him sound amateur in the metal world. Hell, at my peak when I was playing all of the time, Slipknot songs were rather easy for me to play. FUN to play, yes. But still easy. I probably would have a hard time now that I haven't played much at all in the past 4 years, but still. And these freaks of nature metal drummers make me feel like I've never played in my life LOL! Start with David Diepold or Eugene Ryabchenko. Alan Cassidy, Shannon Lucas, Alex Rudinger, Adam Bjork, 66Samus, Kevin Paradis, Dan Presland, Krimh, and the list goes on and on.
@@OneSickDrummer why on earth would you think pure skill is all that's required to be drummer of the year?
Jay's presence in Slipknot was huge... he literally saved them after Joey's departure.
His skill was valuable... his persona was immense.
@@OneSickDrummer Surprised you didn't mention Evgeny Novikov
@@OneSickDrummerAgreed, and I'll add to your list Eloy Casagrande and Mario Duplantier...
@@Todrick451 Absolutely correct. Like I said, he was really good for the band. But I’m just saying that there are literally tons of drummers that could fill those shoes and do it much better. Wearing a mask and head banging is the easy part. I would know. Although, I don’t expect you to believe that. I’m just speaking as a drummer who has been playing for a long time that was actually very inspired by Joey. He was the reason I started playing and his style is still somewhat reflected in my playing style. But these guys now… they’re absolutely unreal.
He is the metal drummer of the year. What hell is going on with Slipknot?
Damn jay brought a new energy into slipknot that it needed. I swear man, it's not even a brotherhood anymore. Just people clocking in and clocking out. I miss the old slipknot. Back in the day they said nobody would be replaced, but money talks.
What’s crazy I just saw Jay post yesterday about what a great show they just had… and now today that’s it?? Ugh…
I now know what fans felt like when Joey got kicked out… Heartbreaking, no one loved slipknot more than Jay and we’ll all miss him
Yeah seriously. What the HELL! Definitely surprised. I wonder what will happen for the band in the future. 😢
I hate what Slipknot has become, every former member has been treated so poorly that I can't listen to them anymore without thinking about it, especially Chris and Joey, they deserved better.
You know, it would be funny if Chris, Craig and Jay just got together forming their own band now that they've been cast aside. It'd be even funnier if they got Anders for vocals
In all fairness, Chris turned around and sued the band while he was still a member and then tried to backpedal after talking shit when they kicked him out.
@@everyonelovesmajima Chris had every reason to sue
Shawn & Corey are narcissistic scumbags.
Chris tried to sue the band while in it and Joey couldn’t fucking play the material and wouldn’t tell them what was going on so they had to boot him
I’m done with Slipknot. First Joey, then Chris, then Craig, now Jay. Corey and Clown are crazy and it’s obviously them who are making these decisions
Don’t forget about Chris
Do not forget Chris Fehn
You cant really blame them for joey though can you?
Craig ask to leave.
@@niklasevensen7418 You can, considering the way Joey got kicked out.
Idk how this is possible, he seemed so perfect for the band, I thought hed be around long after all the OGs left. This is actually so crazy to me, I literally cant believe it. I need more time to process. I cant imagine a singlw person out there bringing the sound n energy Jay did.
Corey has talked about retiring in a few years, wouldn’t be surprised if this is something he’s pushing for
He's such an amazing drummer, this hit me like a truck. I recently started to realize how fucking good he was, and believe it or not, I read this news while I was watching one of his drum plays. I can't believe it
All Band Is Gone featuring the new number 1 hit People = Fired.
😂
fr tho lmao
He probably had a 10 year contract. Tried to renegotiate his next contract but ask for a (completely reasonable) increase and pay and Corey/Shawn fired him.
Corpknot strikes again
I'm thankful I got to see Jay live in March at Melbourne Knotfest, I can rest easy knowing I got to see that legend live in the flesh- his precision, poise and creativity elevated The Knot more than anybody could ever hope to achieve. It's bittersweet, they booted both drummers who both ended u being generational talents for the same band- but I know Jay will be an upgrade for literally all bands he decides to play on with, he's still young in his music career and I have nothing but love for him, he got me started in drumming.
The post is erased right now WTF.
@@Franpunkieanarquista yeah wtf their entire instagram page has been redone
Slipiknot died with Paul. After that, Corey and Shawn have been doing everything to own the band.
From a source close to the band, there is less revenue split when there are less "permanent" members. By removing Jay, it allows for them to hire session drummers (which can honestly play just as well) without having to share actual profits. Solely a money driven decision.
That doesn't make it right
It's not even a Band anymore... It's a business. Owned by Corey and Clown... painful to say but it's true...
@@twardy11 Probably barely owned by Corey anymore ngl. Clown has been making a lot of decisions when it comes to the band lately
its Slip Not anymore
That's sad but true
I just can't believe this. Jay was so open with the fans and so creative, I mean, his music was the highlight of the last few slipknot releases. I just don't even know what to think. I'm stunned and heartbroken. This one hurts as much as Joey leaving.
Corey has been in fullblown egomaniac mode lately.
slipknot is a company and the members ar employees. when the company thinks its enough, its enough. jay got fired. just like joey got fired, chris got fired and craig got fired. when the bosses (shawn and corey) are not down with you, youre out. its as simple as it gets.
but i personally think, that jay saved slipknot when joey left. and now that hes gone, slipknot is slowly but surely dying.
and now… lets sing the dying song.
Let’s not forget that this man was a dedicated fan of the band and had just won the 2023 Metal Drummer of the Year award on Modern Drummer….
Definitely no shady stuff going on behind the scenes…..
They're gonna take on Mike Mangini 😂😂😂
It's a Money thing Shawn and Corey own everything
*ALEX!!!!* my man, u have been a Slipknot fan for such a long time, and yet u NEVER LISTENED TO "THE BLISTER EXISTS"??? its some of Joey's BEST DRUMMING and some of Slipknot best work!
don't sleep on this one plz (please dont do the music video, do the audio is way better) is probably their most headbanger song
also do "THREE NIL" probably the most underrated song from the same album one of their best and most underrated songs overall that doesn't get enough love, also they're from 2004!!! 19 years ago! Some of their earlier work, the instrumental is amazing and Corey sounds really young which I rly like, not trying to compare this "new" Slipknot from nowadays to the old Slipknot but like the old Slipknot just hits different, these 2 songs are SO headbanger! Like super headbanger! Break yo neck listening to them (not literally)
Also
Listen to System a down self titled songs: MIND and War?(audio, not music videos) PLEASE

Thank you, j Weinberg, for your contributes to Slipknot. You are a Beast, continue on and prosper my friend.
i deadass dont know what to even think rn. jay has loved the band for his WHOLE DAMN LIFE and not to be biased or anything but hes brought so much energy to the group i just dont know how they can ever replace him. i have tickets to see Slipknot at Sick New World and im so depressed i wont be seeing Jay drum with them.. Im speechless.
That's something. Also if you ever get the chance I highly recommend listening to Dark Tranquility. My recommendation is the Fiction record from 2007. Song I recommend is Misery's Crown or Focus Shift. You won't be disappointed. Trust me.
I'm so pissed man. My favorite member 💔
Corey openly said earlier this year that he probably only has 3-5 more years left in Slipknot before he retires because of his health. With half of the original band gone, I don't think they much care about cohesiveness or maintaining a vision. They've become impulsive. It's natural. When you invest everything in a vision and then something damages it or it transforms into something different, you throw your hands up in the air and cease caring about the original vision and just go with the flow regardless of where it takes you. Sad, but it is what it is. Slipknot fans shouldn't be too surprised these days.
Wild speculation time. Slipknot were incredibly excited to get their last album out of the way because it meant ending their contract with Roadrunner Records. And they even gave their album the name The End, So Far. This was said to be a nod to the changing of direction, the end of one life as a Roadrunner Artist and the start of a new life, free to make whatever albums they want without being obliged to make them. So i suspect that this is Slipknot making some huge change. I dont know what it is, but maybe they want to go in directions they couldnt before and maybe those changes means downsizing the band and calming down, a decision that certain members (Jay) might not be down with. Or maybe they want to go this new direction with only classic memebers of the band, though with Joey no longer being with us, they need a drummer of some sort so god knows why they'd drop Jay. Its a story which i think might have many mor layers to it, yet to be revealed
Thank you for bringing us this sad news😢 I love your content!!
We don't know what we don't know. All we can do is hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. Even if this is the beginning of the end of the band as we knew it, it's still one of the best acts in rock history, and I'm still glad I got to witness it.
Bruh WTF IS HAPPENING????
WE are LOSING our members,
Paul, Joey, Craig, Jay, Chris.... What is this Slipknot? This isnt the Slipknot i used to like
Edit: I know Paul and Joey passed away, I know that I'm not saying the others died, I'm just saying we are losing the band members,
Listening to Only One when Corey Clown and Chris scream "ONLY ONE OF US WALKS AWAY" is like "no, 5 of you walked away
This sucks so much
Maybe Shawn lost his mind
I rarely comment, i recently became a massive fan of slipknot this past week. Listening to all there songs and watching there live performances. Went through the history of slipknot and learning about the passing of Joey and Paul. Learned about the departures and then boom... This happens... Bloody mental mate.
This is a direct move from the "two" horseman that operate Slipknot.
Craig's departure was the death rattle, Jay now was the final nail in the coffin. RIP Slipknot.
You csn rename yourselves The Clown and Corey NFT show.
Imagine spending that amount of time with people over the course of 10 years, touring the world with them, writing material and then one day, right after playing a festival you get a phonecall, probably from management (not the actual band,) telling you you're done, unemployed.
One positive is that a huge amount of the drumming community has shown support for jay including zildjian, his endorsed cymbal company. New drummer rumoured to be jeramey kling
Surely Jay is one of the youngest members in the band? So it can’t be due to getting older and wanting to slow down?!
He never had the chops to begin with and hasnt improved.
@@satriconI know your joking and all, but I really can’t think of a reason why they got rid of him
Jay is really good but there might be something going on that we don’t know because kicking someone out of the blue? Don’t know Rick
@@SPINlX im for sure not joking. He cant play their songs live without fucking up. He has never been able to play the heretic anthem without having to replace the double bass parts with improvised tom fills cuz he simply doesnt have the stamina. and some fucking how, he never improved either. If you dont know drumming, im you might think he's good, but if you know what joey could do. you know that jay isnt able to.
Jay was literally the best out of all Slipknot!!
Listen to their last performance on Rescurrection fest. Jays playing is very sloppy.
I'm sorry but it's true, I was very surprised by how bad it is.
Not even close...
Still in shock. Hes an amazing guy and talent
Slipknot is now the KISS of Nu Metal.
The way it’s worded seems like they fired him 😢
They had to have. Most likely a decision between Corey and Clown. Jay absolutely loved playing in the band, it was his dream as a kid. He even posted videos of him drumming on his YT like yesterday.
Slipknot is turning into the band ghost with how they keep changing members lately
Slipknot’s latest album name actually predicted the future, except for the end so far it’s just the end. Shawn has completely lost it at this point. Jay would never leave the band willingly, I think he’s one of the youngest in the band as well. I can’t believe what Slipknot has become over the years, and I was a new fan too. In just a few years the band will probably change the name to The Shawn Band. Since when did Shawn become the leader in the band anyways? He didn’t even start the band. Shouldn’t the band make all decisions together? This was definitely a money move made by Shawn. But who knows, hopefully I’m wrong but my point still stands, Shawn has become the bands leader and he can just pick whoever he wants out of the band. I’m not supporting the direction this band is taking, either something changes or… Well it’s the end.
Saying Shawn didn't start the band is really splitting hairs dude.
@@fruit9484 Sure, I’m being picky and I’m obviously making it seem like I’m angrier than I am. I’ll just miss Jay as the drummer for the band. But I’m not going to deny that the band is declining.
His son will be their drummer. Then Corey’s son will replace Corey in a few years time too as Clown will retire from the Knot w Corey. Nepo baby knot come soon enough
As a fan since 1999 and gone to multiple live shows, believe my slipknot days are numbered. Just not what it once was.
The post that the band put up sounds more like Shawn than anything
Bro I’m just glad I saw him live two days ago in Mexico, I never expected I would witness his last concert with slipknot
I’ve been following Jay on UA-cam and what I’ve discerned is he is branching out into something else. I could be wrong but it’s the feeling I’ve gotten from his videos and interviews. Subtle but it’s there
WTF?? Jay is one of my favourite drummers out there and is one of the reasons why i started playing. He was perfect for Slipknot. He is not Joey but he played his songs nearly perfect. Honestly i dont think there will be a next slipknot album. Gald i´ve had the chance to see them last year at Wacken
All it's weird, the post is erased now WTF.
This is ridiculous. And it literally came out of nowhere. It was shocking with Craig leaving but this is even more shocking.
I just heard and it’s honestly sad he was an awesome drummer and an even better person
It's probably to do with Corey and Clown.
Apparently Clown is the main person who’s in control of the band from what I know and I don’t think it has anything to do with Corey, but I could be wrong.
Wtf is happening??? Is there really a better drummer than jay Weinberg and Joey? Cuz I can’t think of one. Wtf!
eloy casagrande?
The drummer of Gojira is currently the best metal drummer, but I get your point
@@Jcv337Mario the besttttt
Yes these guys are all great (Thomas, Mario, Eloy, etc) but what doesn’t change is how integral Jay became to SlipKnot’s sound. He’s my favorite drummer in the world and he’ll go on to do greater stuff but still….wild man
@@Jcv337 it's not about who is the best drummer. It's about who is the best fit for SlipKnot- there isn't one

Wow dude. Jay was amazing. He was a great replacement for Joey, he had the same style of drumming. Slipknot has just absolutely been breaking every fiber of my heart lately. I've been a fan since 99 and granted they are a band and line ups will change but man I was just not ready for the heartache of losing members from the band that brought me to metal.
Best guess is Jay is hard to work with (as much has been said in other bands) and he must have made a string of decisions that Clown and Corey finally said “Look man, it’s been a good run, but it is time to pack your stuff.”
I just wanna cry.
Ever since Chris has revealed the sketchy things that happen behind the scenes, Slipknot has definitely been falling off the rails
So, fun fact. Jay's drum tech is my neighbor.
"His contract was up." Is what he told me.
I’m crying right now
First Paul Gray, Joey Jordison, Chris Fehn, Craig Jones and Now Jay Weinberg :'(
Slipknot slowly turning into Mushroomhead v2
Think its important for people to not jump the gun and wait for more info. They hit the 10 year mark. Maybe a decade of service was a deal they worked out. Or that he could get the band through their last 3 records before they were done with Roadrunner. It could be something shitty of course. Time will tell.
I really prefer the band ends rather every OG member being slowly fired
@@ruanfelipeax And I can totally understand why. I'm more the "things will change but Slipknot will remain because of new blood" camp. I'd rather new members (for whatever the reason) step in and take up arms in the name of Slipknot and Slipknot's message.
I’m kinda done with my favorite band ever. First Chris, then Craig, Corey saying dickheaded things about his band mates, and now getting rid of the only thing that gave them life since Paul’s death. Wtf
It's either Jay wants to do something else outside of music and if you've been following his social media accounts he posts his paintings and the fact that he also does other collaborations, those could also be a key factor
They're no longer under contract with roadrunner so they're doing whatever they want.
I guess slipknot wasn't lying when they dropped the end so far cause to be honest. This really is the end
Probs just gonna end up with Cory's son taking over vocals and clowns son on drums
I highly doubt Jay left on his own terms unfortunately.
Slipknot was something he was very passionate about and always put his soul into
They prided themselves on having the same line up of 9 for so long but it's completely changed now
I fucking loved jay, I’ll miss him so much man. I’m hoping this is some sort of messed up prank cuz I rlly can’t believe this is happening. I’ll miss him so much. ❤
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...
So glad i saw craig and jay with slipknot twice!
Listen to .5 the gray chapter... Jay is a legend
it gets even weirder.... they deleted the announcement from all social media.
I was just blasting unsainted right before you shared this news. And I was thinking on clowns mask and they're age. I can't see slipknot carrying on with all the change this year. I hope this isn't true but Jay was a saving grace
The 3 “Cs” of the hiring process: Competency, character and chemistry. The first two can be changed over time, the third is difficult to change.
WTH? Jay was awesome. He was a perfect fit for them and is one of the best damn drummers out there…
Shocked and awe
Well if you are interested in another band. Psycho from Windsor. Hope that helps w/ the void.

Oh well, there's still new music coming out featuring Joey so I'm happy enough.
How the hall can they get rid of him? Most talented guy in the band and by far their best drummer. I thinks it’s time Slipknot called it a day.
By far their best drummer? Nah mate, that would be Joey. Jay surely was a great follow up for the drum god himself, but nobody can do it like my boy Joey.
It's time for El Estepario to jump in 😁
Looks like Mike Mangini landed a new gig.
“Creative decision” my ass.
Where's the official post? I can't find it!
Can you say
El Estepario!!
Rumor has it he wjll be doing drum duties. One handed!
El Estepario Siberiano posted a video almost a week ago about his new band and the end of his channel then Jay Weinberg parts ways with Slipknot? I know I'm reaching here, but it would be interesting to see him join Slipknot.
