I'm a drummer that has been playing for a long time, and he's absolutely insane, but I don't feel bad about myself. He just makes want to practice more, even though I know I will never be able to put in the amount of time and effort he is able to put into it. Drumming is his living.

Thank you for pointing out a critical piece of information that most people don't realize. These super good instrument players spend hundreds and thousands of hours to perfect their craft. The rest of us have jobs and kids and other things that we choose to spend time doing.

@@marlaplunk2833 He has a video detailing his drumming journey. He admitted that when he started out and only practiced 1-2 hours daily, his progress was slow/average. It wasn't until his drumming gig and university studies ended that he was able to dedicate 8 hours to drumming, and his skills skyrocketed. He himself was amazed at what he was able to accomplish when all you do is practice drums/percussion all day. As someone who's lucky to practice 2 hours per day, I was bummed to hear this.

I agree, it's humbling to hear someone so good and far above like this but it's also what motivates us or at least me to work harder, to chase down the best as best as able....then become the best. Whether that actually happens isn't important and highly improbable.... irrelevant, it's more about the reward of giving you're best effort, maximizing the gift given.... Without having the bubble burst, it's easy to get lax......When I saw this guy, it was an awakening to work harder.

Drummer as well, started at 10 and 60 now, but haven't picked up the sticks in some time. Watching this guy has inspired me to order sticks and a new drum head for my snare so I can start with the basics again. But most people don't understand the amount of time it takes to get to his level of playing. I won some drumming awards when I was a kid, but I would practice at least 4 hours a day during the week and longer on weekends. The old saying is exactly right, practice does make perfect.

don't sleep on this one plz (please dont do the music video, do the audio is way better) is probably their most headbanger song
also do "THREE NIL" probably the most underrated song from the same album one of their best and most underrated songs overall that doesn't get enough love, also they're from 2004!!! 19 years ago! Some of their earlier work, the instrumental is amazing and Corey sounds really young which I rly like, not trying to comparing this "new" Slipknot from nowadays to the old Slipknot but like the old Slipknot just hits different, these 2 songs are SO headbanger! Like super headbanger! Break yo neck listening to them (not literally)

This guy talks about how long it took him to get this good, he literally practiced for years and years, hours upon hours every single day as the one thing he did with his free time. Maybe this man has a natural gift, but if you pile on years of work to anything, you’re going to be skilled at it, and that’s exactly what this guy did.😊

So the hand pan is actually quite similar to how could do this same thing with a metal bowl in your kitchen. the dents in the pan are all different sizes and the sound is made up of the vibrations that get tapped and depending on how you tap, it makes up the frequencies. Yes this instrument only has ten major notes but you have the ability to bend those notes to create the sounds you hear while playing it.

Thank you for keeping the artist over 80% of the screen, you have a GREAT blend of pause/play and reaction. Some reaction videos, to this guy pass judgement on him, but yet, I'm sure they could not fight their way out of a wet paper-bag.

The instrument is called Hang and was invented in Switzerland around 2000.
If you really like it, you MUST check early Portico Quartet music. Portico is a Jazz group (drums, hang, double bass, saxophone, electronica) from GB who won Jazz prices all around in Europe early last decade. Haunting and mesmerising music 🎉

I have one of those instruments and to my shame it's going to be months/years before I am that good. It has anywhere from 9 to 13 different tones, not too hard to play something that is at least a little bit decent. Alex don't feel bad, your Marvel reactions, not everyone can bring an A Game reaction the way you can! RESPECT!! You can get those instruments online for really cheap to insanely expensive. You usually get what you pay for, but just starting out, paying just a few bucks is worth it 👍

El Estepario Siberiano produced a very good, VERY well-fitting drum cover for Lindsey Stirling's "Underground".
That being said, you might find it really enjoyable to react to Lindsey Stirling's "Underground" if you haven't discovered her yet.

"I didn't know this guy could play multiple instruments" in reference to a guy who plays an entire set of instruments...
He's not a drummer, he's a percussionist. If you've seen the myriad ways that he has arranged his kit, it's always more than just drums.
Think of the handpan like a big brass bowl piano that you hit like a drum instead of pressing keys.

TheDooo is pretty musically talented. He's extremely good with guitar and pretty darn good with the piano and knows enough about music theory he can listen to snippets of songs and "cover" them. Leo Moracchioli is also quite good in that he can play a lot of instruments fairly well.

Hand Pans and Tank Drums are actually quite fun instruments, and are quite easy to find (Amazon, Thomann, etc), but they don't get a ton of play in bands you would hear unless looking for that kind of instrument specifically. They don't tend to blend all that well with most musical styles, due to the kind of airy and ethereal sound they produce, so you're likely only really going to find them in new agish and folk music. Great instruments though, with one big downside. Because the instrument only has a limited number of notes and all of those notes fall onto a specific scale, you have to select the scale of the instrument at purchase, and if you want to play something that requires a different scale, you can A) try and use magnets to adjust the scale of the existing one (adding weight to a pad shifts the frequency of the note played), or B) buy another hand pan in the scale you want to play. Another downside is that each of those hand pans, if reasonably nice ones, can cost ~$1500 and in the case of a really nice one upward of $4K. So, if you want say, 4 scales for different songs, it adds up. All that said, even a really reasonably priced nice tank drum (tank drums tend to be less expensive) in the $700 range once it gets ringing can fill a room with sound and make some of the prettiest noises you've ever heard. If you want to see some more hand pan stuff check out Amy Naylor on YT. She does a lot of tutorial type hand pan stuff.

This is my first time seeing El Estepario play this instrument or anyone play it. It's bad ass!
I played traditional Caribbean steel drums in high school, so, I can understand drums of this nature. How they produce sound etc, I don't know anything about the difficulty of playing the Hand Pan but I remember the steel drums being like trying to tune-up a sports car. You had to have the touch and not too much of it and to make them sound "good", you had to have finesse or something. Okay, I looked into it, it's theoretically, easier, but there's nothing easy in this video lol.
