I'm a traditional wife. I dress comfortably because... I want to. I keep our house, do the cooking, and look after my grandchildren so their parents don't have that worry while they try to live in an economy that forces women to work outside the home. I worked while raising my children. When my youngest got married and moved out, I quit working because my husband prefers me at home taking care of things. Does this mean he does nothing? No, he works very hard to provide for us and... *gasp* he still helps out around the house as well as doing lawn care and vehicle maintenance. Right now he's rebuilt the engine for my car because I'm too attached to buy a new one. We can afford it, I just don't want a new one. We discuss all decisions. Neither of us walk roughshod over the other because we have to live with each other. We talk to each other, we make decisions together. We love our family and support them as much as we can, sometimes financially if it's dire but mostly just emotionally. Our family unit is strong. Our biggest complaint? The family text group going off late at night because our kids and their spouses want to talk to us or one another. How many "woke" families can say that?
So having a mom and dad that aren't dysfunctional is a bad thing? What is everyone growing up with broken family or something, like is that what "society" want now?

The ideals behind traditionalism aren't radical on their own, it's the methods some wish to use to bring it to fruition that are. To me, becoming obsessed with social norms and enforcing of those through violence and constant supervision is no different from the globalist assholes we're currently dealing with. Unless such efforts can be achieved through less drastic and more constructive means, I cannot see this as a valid alternative... as concerning as the destruction of the family unit is.

The history has shown how dangerous anti-science can be, and in a traditional society, such sentiments are a possibility. It is that worst case scenario that makes me see it as such. I am a defective doll, one cursed with a diagnosis that would brand me as not fit for society since birth. My safety is not guaranteed in your ideal society, so I seek for another way to fight against the mainstream and the illness you speak of. My wife stays home and raises our children. We get this abuse all the time. I view it as part of our sacrifice for our children to endure it. All my children are well ahead of their age groups in math, reading, and science. My eldest daughter is 4th grade and reads at a 9th grade level and just tested past Algebra 2. She will likely pass calculus before the end of her 9th grade.

I don't think it was for your age group it was unthinkable... i think we pose that to kids. It should be seen as tragic and of some fault... even if that fault was getting married in the first place... now, people shouldn't avoid the divorce to avoid the tragedy, IMO, the tragedy already occurred. My parents divorces and my sisters went downhill. The middle of the 3 has depression, is unemployed, doesent study and is only on the PC and my mom does nothing when she is depressed. My wife stayed home until our kids went to school. Now, she works 20 - 25 hours a week. She gets the maximum time with family but still has experiences and friends outside the home. I'm the one who works 50 hours a week.

My mom, when she was not going through a bad bout of health, stayed home. She cooked, did laundry, cleaned, made sure my dad had his uniform in order every day, helped my brother & I with homework, and balanced the budget since she was much better at Math than my father. My dad worked a horrifically degrading job. He missed birthdays & holidays. But he kept a roof over our head, food on the table. He took out the garbage & mowed the lawn. And every. single. day. my dad told us how proud of us he was, even if my brother or I didn't feel like we had done anything worthy of his praise. He even dedicated a wall in our house as the Proud Of You Wall, where he would hang our artwork, awards, and good grades. We went to Church every Sunday. When my mom became so sick that she needed to be hospitalized out of state, my father sent us to live with his sister (where we attended a Catholic private school, despite being Protestants), so he could continue to work so that he would not lose the Health Coverage that my mom desperately needed at the time. It wasn't always perfect, because no family is. But this is what I want when I have a family. Dedication, Love, and Sacrifice. If a man is a good, moral, decent person, it isn't a problem to submit to him, because he will always have your best interest at heart. Been going through a similar situation myself as of late; I have a few male friends and we enjoy each other's company in general, but not many female friends because... I guess I don't know how to be friends with most - not all - modern women, in this day and age. Perhaps it's because I wasn't good at making friends in school, or because some girls can be catty and mean in ways most boys aren't and that, in combination with all this SJW stuff, kinda messed with my preconception of females in general. Granted, I have had female friends before and I remember enjoying their company quite a lot; we just went in different directions life-wise. Nowadays I don't want to be labeled, just left alone and maybe that makes me a weirdo, haha. But despite my frustration I still would love to have female friends! However, I'm not sure how healthy this preference of "male over female friends" is, if left unchecked.
The new “trad” idea is sort of a subversion of what a traditional family was like though. Women always had a great deal of input into decisions around life, sometimes even more so than the man. @@renim2974 The idea is not that a man "makes major decisions." If you've ever worked on a cooperative project that actually came to fruition, you probably had a leader who had the final say. If you _didn't_ have a leader who had final say, then the project likely devolved into arguments, constant dispute and a complete lack of direction. A man is the one who listens to ALL of the input, in situations in which there is no perfect path, and makes a decision. You know what the man also does? He bears the weight of the decision if it fails. This is _not_ a "master and servant" situation, it's a "commanding officer and subordinating officer" situation. Neither is lesser of a human, and the input of both is valuable and important, but _someone_ must make final decisions, end disputes and set the course, and generally it's the man's logic under the counsel of his woman's emotion and empathy.

The argument of "no career" against tradwife post divorce makes no sense at all in the US, in the US alimony still is a thing. Alimony is an archaic system from another time, but makes perfect sense in a tradwife lifestyle and in these specifics cases I am totally for the concept of alimony. And as research shows, it didn't do women any good. We have to watch our pennies living on a single income, and our neighbors all drive nicer cars than we do, but life is great. She's happy, I'm happy, my kids are healthy and well adjusted, and every year they crush the standardized tests our state requires us to take. I understand if people say they don't want this lifestyle, but I find this to be deeply meaningful and fulfilling. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Fascinating to me that they (the BBC and respondents) frame the traditional wife as "submitting". I don't know about this couple's case, but in general the sexual division of labor in the home, community, and country has never been that simple. Even in fuggin' medieval Europe, it would be difficult to make the case that wives were simply submissive in most things. Especially in royalty where they generally had to permit their husband into the treasury and willfully formed the driving force in wars.
It is a huge boon to have one parent or person stay home with the children and manage the home/social lives. I was a trad wife...*cough. I mean house husband. My ex made considerably more money than I, and we were more than comfortable with her making the bacon and me cooking it. Or so we thought. After our relationship failed it was very difficult geting back into the job market. A lot of it had to do with my own mistakes of course. But now I am the bread winner of a relationship. It has it's challenges but it feels much more like the roll I should have been in all along.
As a stay at home mom who had previously been in the workforce, I can safely say, I hate corporate work, and love home work. I get to be with my kids, I'm only accountable to my family and husband. It works. And I didn't come from an intact home. I love life at home. Especially when all your grade school friends talk to you about is their 9 to 5 and how drunk they got over the weekend. Lmao! No feminist is going to tell me, a normal woman, how to be happy if I can't tell her that she SHOULD have kids so she can ACTUALLY have a purpose for the future. 🤷♀️😬

You care for and support each other. You lift each other up and give and take. Who wouldn't want to submit to a husband that puts them first?
I honestly wish I could afford to support a wife, but honestly the dating market in my area is saturated with unemployed, oblivious, self-important, selfish, shallow women, and I'm sure the men are just as bad. I'm on a dating hiatus for sanity right now, but when I was looking around I was consistently amazed by how many of the women I met had the idea that all they had to do was show up with a list of demands. About half of them couldn't even hold a conversation, and some of them even had outrageous body odor issues. How trad do you have to be to wear deodorant?
It baffles me how people still buy the whole "traditional women back in the days were submissive". That's not how that worked always and everywhere. It depended on class, geographic location and era (to simplify). Another point: we all know it's a myth that your brain can simultaneously work on two different, complex issues. Instead, it rapidly switches between tasks. Partnerships work a lot like that (healthy ones). The partners switch fields of responsibilities between them. Depending on expertise and interest, the one better suited will have the final say. If you blindly submit to a partner without first establishing whether they are better qualified than you, that just makes you a lazy, gullible fool. Not a tradwife.

So Dev, in my (US) state, stay at home parents are "paid" by sharing in all of the working spouse's income. And not having job skills is supposed to be taken into account in support payments. But there is an increasing emphasis on _becoming_ independent because, too often, joblessness is used as a sword to win child custody. Which then makes them less able to work enough to become independent and so on. Essentially, marriage is the social safety net for the tradwife. But nobody should expect marital duties continue any longer than necessary after divorce.
Every national survey reporting happiness has shown women's happiness relative to men's has gone down since the 70s. Not saying correlation is causation, but I wouldn't be surprise that "liberation" hasn't done much for women's life satisfaction.
Traditional gender roles are based on sex differences between men and women. A man provides his wife and kids with protection, access to resources, and nurturing. The woman provides her husband with children that are his kids. She nurtures the children and takes care of them when they are young. Both parties bring something to the table that the party desires.
What people seem to misunderstand about "submission" is that it isn't. In the Bible, Paul instructs husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the church, AKA unconditionally and sacrificially unto death; he merely instructs wives to respect their husbands. This doesn't mean that they cede all authority to their husband; that would be stupid. It just means that they should be considerate of their husband's sacrifices for their sake and treat him accordingly. The ideal Christian marriage is one in which the husband and wife are truly one: they love each other sacrificially, forgive one another and live in harmony, and come to agreements together over decisions in life.

I'm a traditional wife. I dress comfortably because... I want to. I keep our house, do the cooking, and look after my grandchildren so their parents don't have that worry while they try to live in an economy that forces women to work outside the home. I worked while raising my children. When my youngest got married and moved out, I quit working because my husband prefers me at home taking care of things. Does this mean he does nothing? No, he works very hard to provide for us and... *gasp* he still helps out around the house as well as doing lawn care and vehicle maintenance. Right now he's rebuilt the engine for my car because I'm too attached to buy a new one. We can afford it, I just don't want a new one. We discuss all decisions. Neither of us walk roughshod over the other because we have to live with each other. We talk to each other, we make decisions together. We love our family and support them as much as we can, sometimes financially if it's dire but mostly just emotionally. Our family unit is strong. Our biggest complaint? The family text group going off late at night because our kids and their spouses want to talk to us or one another. How many "woke" families can say that?

I don't think it was for your age group it was unthinkable... i think we pose that to kids. My dad worked a horrifically degrading job. He missed birthdays & holidays. But he kept a roof over our head, food on the table. He took out the garbage & mowed the lawn. And every. single. day. my dad told us how proud of us he was, even if my brother or I didn't feel like we had done anything worthy of his praise. He even dedicated a wall in our house as the Proud Of You Wall, where he would hang our artwork, awards, and good grades. We went to Church every Sunday. When my mom became so sick that she needed to be hospitalized out of state, my father sent us to live with his sister (where we attended a Catholic private school, despite being Protestants), so he could continue to work so that he would not lose the Health Coverage that my mom desperately needed at the time. It wasn't always perfect, because no family is. But this is what I want when I have a family. Dedication, Love, and Sacrifice. If a man is a good, moral, decent person, it isn't a problem to submit to him, because he will always have your best interest at heart. Been going through a similar situation myself as of late; I have a few male friends and we enjoy each other's company in general, but not many female friends because... I guess I don't know how to be friends with most - not all - modern women, in this day and age. Perhaps it's because I wasn't good at making friends in school, or because some girls can be catty and mean in ways most boys aren't and that, in combination with all this SJW stuff, kinda messed with my preconception of females in general.

You know what the man also does? He bears the weight of the decision if it fails.
This is _not_ a "master and servant" situation, it's a "commanding officer and subordinating officer" situation. Neither is lesser of a human, and the input of both is valuable and important, but _someone_ must make final decisions, end disputes and set the course, and generally it's the man's logic under the counsel of his woman's emotion and empathy.

Women in the workforce was a bad move. Doubling the available workforce pretty much halved salaries. And as research shows, it didn't do women any good. Women who choose career over family hit the Wall (of infertility, for those unaware of the meme) hard, end up sad and alone as they wasted their youth sleeping around instead of finding a partner for life, as older, wealthier men gravitate towards young women.
There's plenty of research that a "trad Wife" (actually, Trad Family) is the healthiest environment for raising children. I would refer anyone interested to Political Juice's 6h series on the decay of modern society.

We have to watch our pennies living on a single income, and our neighbors all drive nicer cars than we do, but life is great. She's happy, I'm happy, my kids are healthy and well adjusted, and every year they crush the standardized tests our state requires us to take. I don't know about this couple's case, but in general the sexual division of labor in the home, community, and country has never been that simple. Even in fuggin' medieval Europe, it would be difficult to make the case that wives were simply submissive in most things. Especially in royalty where they generally had to permit their husband into the treasury and willfully formed the driving force in wars.

It's sad. These people don't seem to think that a man can lead selflessly. Seriously, if your husband adores you, what's he gonna pick for you guys to do for vacation? Your favorite spot? Someplace you've always wanted to go? You really think he's gonna pick something you hate? Or what about when you need new cothes? Is he gonna pick terrible clothes? Or is he gonna get something you'll like? Or is he maybe gonna give you the debit card and say "Of course! Don't be shy, we can afford it. Get yourself some clothes that make you feel good. I got the kids". When you want to go out with the girls, is he gonna be stingy? Or is he gonna say "go, you deserve a night off. Go have fun!". Marriage is supposed to be like that. You care for and support each other. You lift each other up and give and take. Who wouldn't want to submit to a husband that puts them first?

I honestly wish I could afford to support a wife, but honestly the dating market in my area is saturated with unemployed, oblivious, self-important, selfish, shallow women, and I'm sure the men are just as bad. I'm on a dating hiatus for sanity right now, but when I was looking around I was consistently amazed by how many of the women I met had the idea that all they had to do was show up with a list of demands. About half of them couldn't even hold a conversation, and some of them even had outrageous body odor issues.

Another point: we all know it's a myth that your brain can simultaneously work on two different, complex issues. Instead, it rapidly switches between tasks.
Partnerships work a lot like that (healthy ones). The partners switch fields of responsibilities between them. Depending on expertise and interest, the one better suited will have the final say.

I know I'm 2 years late but still I found those people very baffling. It's just incredible how narrow their point of view is. They propably don't understand that there is more countries in the world than just USA. I live in Poland and I'm pretty sure that many, many women would rather stay at home than work if they could. Not even mentioning that they are not that diffrent from people who think that everything in the world is jews fault. They literally act like people don't have mind on their own and can't make their own choices. Women want to be stay at home wife? It's because far right propaganda, white supremacy and gaslighting for sure! Whats even funnier is that they say they are opressed ones when in reality they are the ones who are opressing women. Pushing women to do something they don't want or need just to make I dunno... example?
So Dev, in my (US) state, stay at home parents are "paid" by sharing in all of the working spouse's income. And not having job skills is supposed to be taken into account in support payments. But there is an increasing emphasis on _becoming_ independent because, too often, joblessness is used as a sword to win child custody. Which then makes them less able to work enough to become independent and so on.
Essentially, marriage is the social safety net for the tradwife. But nobody should expect marital duties continue any longer than necessary after divorce.
Every national survey reporting happiness has shown women's happiness relative to men's has gone down since the 70s. Not saying correlation is causation, but I wouldn't be surprise that "liberation" hasn't done much for women's life satisfaction.

Traditional gender roles are based on sex differences between men and women. A man provides his wife and kids with protection, access to resources, and nurturing. The woman provides her husband with children that are his kids. She nurtures the children and takes care of them when they are young. Both parties bring something to the table that the party desires.

What people seem to misunderstand about "submission" is that it isn't.
In the Bible, Paul instructs husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the church, AKA unconditionally and sacrificially unto death; he merely instructs wives to respect their husbands. This doesn't mean that they cede all authority to their husband; that would be stupid. It just means that they should be considerate of their husband's sacrifices for their sake and treat him accordingly. The ideal Christian marriage is one in which the husband and wife are truly one: they love each other sacrificially, forgive one another and live in harmony, and come to agreements together over decisions in life.

1.) Her not being in a relationship/ not being married
2.) If she is in a relationship, she’s usually a lesbian
3.) Doesn’t have any children/ Doesn’t want children
4.) She drinks and parties a lot
5.) Sleeps around and brags about it
6.) Thinks of herself as superior because she’s a woman
7.) Is aggressive and often makes rude remarks to men (Especially if he’s straight and white)
Meanwhile these same people will see a woman doing this and say she’s brainwashed, “She has her whole life ahead of her, why does she want this?” or, in the words of someone on Tumblr, “Needs to stop being so feminine”:
1.) Wants to be married in her 20’s (Most fertile and saftest period to have babies with less risk)
2.) Wants a big family
3.) Likes baking, sewing and/or cleaning
4.) Wants to be a housewife or stay at home mom
5.) Wants a man who’s hyper masculine
6.) Saving herself for marriage
7.) Smiles at everyone (Because for some reason feminists think smiling is patriarchy)
8.) Wearing only skirts and dresses

And feminists will say “We’re happy! We have money and booze! It’s great” but the Paradox of Female Happiness (A study that was done since the 1970’s to track female happiness over time) has seen that women’s happiness has been in rapid decline over the years and it makes sense.
Women started to choose careers over fertility (More mothers began working and sending their kids to daycare or the rise of Latchkey Kids, kids that came home by themselves because mom and dad were busy)
They started drinking, getting blacked out drunk and sleeping around with random men at bars and on college campuses because apparently flashing out tits to random men is empowering
