Thank you for your exceptional hard work with all these videos, every one is excellent and I have learned so much. I have the full works saved so that I can refer back when I get brain fog (which is quite often 😅) - really appreciate the effort you have put into these, you’re a star ⭐️
This is great, thanks! What about SVG? Specifically, when I save svg, I notice a lot of transform elements wrapping my shapes (presumably based on how I’ve moved them around while working). Is there a way to “apply” the transforms directly to the shape, so the saved SVG is smaller and cleaner?
Hi Keith, I don't use SVG that much and am trying to understand the question a little better. When you say transforms, what do you mean? Like FX and the warp tool? Also can you explain how they are 'wrapping' your shapes. Cheers 👍🏻
@@ArtistWright I mean in the file itself. SVG is a text-based format, which is really useful in web development (my job). So instead of a in the file at coordinates x, y, Affinity produces something like -- the transform applied to the group (the tag) moves the circle into its final position. I'd love to remove these extraneous transform rules to simplify the file and make it easier to work with. No worries if you don't know how; I've dug around in the past and not found a way to strip them out.
Ah yes I understand your point (although i'm no web developer). You can reduce it by making sure 'flatten transforms' is selected in the export panel. I just tested to make sure and it definitely cleans up the code a fair bit. I tried with and without an artboard.
When I work with artboards (pretty much always) when I switch to Export persona each artboard is automatically set up as a slice without me doing anything. I don't remember changing a setting it to be that way. FWIW I'm on macOS 14 and AD 2.5.5.
Thank you so much for another great tutorial. Do you mind making a video on how to remove background of typography png? And also how to remove the shadow and stroke of the typography? At last, how to remove background if the image is on a mock up. For example, there is a png image of a typography, but that typography is on a shirt. In this case, is it possible to remove the t-shirt and only keep the typography?
@FRACC847 yes here are other ways to remove a background by using adjustment layers. Seems like you are wanting to edit raster images like pngs. Affinity Designer obviously has pixel Persona but it's limited (as it's mainly for vector graphics), so I usually do most editing in affinity photo
I was waiting until the end, and then I forgot to ask. What about the all-important cat tool? Oh, wait, you’re probably preparing an entire series on how to effectively use it. Yeah, that makes sense. It deserves that kind of treatment. 😂
AHH yes! of course! I am tirelessly working on a 6 hour video specifically about the cat tool, you aren't really a designer unless you know about that. so I'm impressed you even brought it up, hats off to you sir 🎩 🐈 😂
Thank you so much, very useful tutorial
No problem
Love the video dude!😆
Cheers

You are a power learner! Great job and thank you so much
I think splitting the megatutorial into these bites is a great idea. Thank you :)
Thanks! It took a fair amount of time to do that, so I appreciate it
Thanks
Thank you for Supporting my channel Anne!

@@ArtistWright oh nice! I'll give that a shot. thanks!

Will have to keep an eye on that

@@ArtistWright Oh! I thought it'd be a different method for the issue I'm talking about.
