Love your channel thank you. In a previous video you used 2x high gloss over plasti dip. In this one I really like the black Emerald but wondered if it needs more gloss and if so, could you use the 2x high gloss over top of hyper dip or if you’d even need it.
Hey, thank you! I havent tried spraying 2k gloss over the black emerald so im not sure if it will react differently compared to spraying it over regular plasti dip but i may need to test it out
Great video.after reading the DYC website description of each color, I came into this video thinking I’d like the emerald more, but the piano one blew me away!
Thank you for showing the process with super light coats and extended time. Definitely worth taking your time and doing it right. My vote is for the piano black !
Great video, definitely has me interested in the piano black. But... how well does it last? I don't go offroading or anything, just simple suburban driving. Heard mixed reviews on plastidip lasting
Another Great Vid, Looking to Do My Emblems & Front Grill/Badge (Prefer a Gloss Look). It Would Be My 1st Time Dipping, So Question would be Piano Black or OG Plasti-Dip w/ 2K Gloss?
Have you tried applying the matte black pd as a base and on top of that give it the hyper dip piano finish, do you think it is easier to apply like this and give it that final finish as if you were applying black pb + glossifire
I’ve been looking for something to cover my front chrome grill and the chrome trim on my Honda Civic. If I take my vehicle to Delta Sonic for a car wash, will it come off?
quick question about dipping. i wanted to do my rims and some chrome on my car and was curious how long im supposed to let it sit before doing stuff like driving or going through a car wash? its almost winter here so I'll definitely need carwashes from the salt.
@@EhabHalat Great thanks! How do you think this compares to actually painting the chrome and rims? More difficult to install and which would you personally recommend?
This is more easier method and is removable in the long run. Painting takes more time and skill so it really depends on what your looking to achieve but i have been using removable coatings for a long time and no issues!
@@EhabHalat Do you know if you can apply Plastidip directly onto chrome surfaces? I've heard some people needing to sand them down to do real paint to it, so was just curious.
You’ve got one of the best spray techniques I’ve seen on UA-cam. Some of these videos make me cringe lol It’s as if they’ve never touched an aerosol can of paint before 😂
Great comparison. Do you feel like the piano black has less of an "orange peel" look than gloss black vinyl wraps? From pictures, it looks like gloss wraps have ripples...
I ordered the emerald black thinking it would be a nice contrast to my black car but I actually don't like it, not feeling the metallic. The final look appears more like a charcoal grey. I have piano black coming today, do you have to submerge the cans in warm water before use like you do with the original Plastidip?
@@EhabHalat Awesome, thank you! I don't think the person who did the emerald black for me applied it properly anyway, it doesn't look even. Could also have been too humid. I think it'll turn out much better after I do it myself with the piano black. I appreciate your reply!
I use dip release from dipyourcar. Apply it on the tires before spraying and then after u do a coat on each wheel do a coat on the side wall of each tire where u applied the dip release and then after your all done it will peel off the side wall of the tire with ease
I use dip release from dipyourcar on the tires and once im finished spraying then the plasti dip on the tires will peel off easily. You can even use tire shine but make sure to only apply it on the side wall of the tire and not the actual wheel
I use dip release from dipyourcar, you just wipe it on the tire and spray a coat on the side wall of the tire every time you do a coat on the wheel and then after your done it peels off with ease. You can also use water based tire shine if you dont have dip release handy
As long as who ever swaps the tire is careful you can change tires without any damage to the wheel. If the wheel does get damaged its easy to touch up with thinner and re dip it
@@EhabHalat - yeah I saw your video, Plasti dip just doesn’t have any of the colors that the Hyper dip comes in, I’ll follow your same technique and it should come out the same, hopefully LOL thank you
@EhabHalat thought about trying it on a chrome bumper. If done plastic dip on chrome and it worked pretty good. Do you think this stuff is just as good?
I am really starting to hate these channels when they start off begging for a subscription. I never sub to the channels that do that. It is my choice if I want to subscribe, not the You Tube creator. I know how the whole You Tube thing works. So if you are a channel that begs for a subscription you are not going to get it from me. You Tube creators that ask or beg for a subscription even before the content starts tells me one thing. It tells me that the creator cares more about the money that the channel brings in then the content they create. If you are a creator that loves providing content first then you will get the subs. Not the other way around.
