I made it with a single strain of yarn and a 5.0 mm hook. Is was a little loose but okay. If I make it again I will try to use a 4.5 mm hook. When I measured it was about an inch larger. My head measures 22 inches.
I used to do all my crochets many years ago when they had them in crochet magazines. They had them in youtube but now you have to get or buy tha patterns. Now its all tutorial and niw i forgot how to do the patternsand now i go by the tutorials and i make alot of mistakes. But i dont sell them so it makes no differents is i do mistakes or not.
What did I do wrong???? I made this hat and used 6mm hook, used two strands of yarn by Red heart Super Saver Med 4, counted stitches after every round...and my hat turned out HUGE!!! looks almost twice the size as yours in the video. I cannot figure out what went wrong...any ideas???
Try going down in hook size. My hat was also to big using a 6mm hook. I redid it using a 5.75 mm hook. A 5.5 mm would have been better, but I didn’t have that size.
Maybe you should keep checking if the top would fit your head every round until it looks like it would fit? But I don’t know if it would work I’m still a beginner to! Just hoping it would work!
To slow the video down, go to the cog settings icon, then click on playback speed. You can adjust to really really slow for the time you need to view. Works wonderfully.
