why is the thumbnail of curly brim but the video tutorial is straight brim? also does every stitch have to be in only front loop for the brim or only the first row? i followed your explanation but it doesn't curl with as much volume
I've been crocheting for over 20 years & it take me longer then an hour to make a hat like this so for the beginners out there don't be be discouraged if it takes you a few hours for a couple days to finish the hat 🤗🥰

this came at the PERFECT TIME for me. I made a chunky bucket hat with the tutorial you mentioned at the beginning, and i wanted to make a Tote bag, but i’m not skilled enough for granny squares yet so i’ve decided to make another hat, but i was using thinner yarn this time around and you just happened to post this one the same day i’m making my hat!!! thank you!
Great tutorial! My first bucket hat was granny squares but this one worked up so quick and ez...I love it! I did my hat with burnt orange and teal around the curly brim with a marijuana leaf in teal at the front. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Greatly appreciated!🇯🇲❤
Im so glad I found your channel! This tutorial is sooo helpful. The half double crochet starting is so much easier than the other methods (that i know) and also the two single crochet then slip stitch to make it even. Thank you and hope to see more from you!! 😊

As a beginner i find it a tad bit misleading to see that the hat thats being made isnt the hat in the thumbnail simply because i was looking particularly for a wavy brim tutorial and the one made in the video doesnt seem to have much wave to it. It doesnt give too much security on the outcome of the project. I recognise as i contonue ti make things maybe things like that will come more naturally and make sense but it wouldve been nice to see the tutorial on the hat thats pictured ♡.

This is super cute and I'm getting ready to start on mine right now! Thank you for offering such great FREE tutorials! I just wanted to say, though, that having almost 10 minutes of talking about the video's sponsor is overkill on top of overkill. I follow many UA-camrs who get sponsors and none of them take more than a few minutes to tell about the sponsors before they get on with the video. Yes, I can skip over that part, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a sponsor, doesn't it? If I have to skip over almost 10 minutes' worth of advertisement, chances are I'm never going to patronize the company being advertised.
Im working on the sides part andf its not standing up, im not increasing but i think its how soft my yarn is/: im thinking about maybe decreasing to see if that will help with the structure
I've made 2 with the curly brim - Love them. Trying to find the instructions for the flat (single crochet) brim. Kind of new here, an I missing something?
Hehehehe ☺️ you may have added more stitches somehow, you can try counting and remove stitches until you have 100, so yes, 30 stitches more might change the size slightly so keep that in mind 😂🥰

hi! thank you so much for this. i've been repeating the "different brims you can do the bucket hat" part and i still can't understand how i make the second row of the brim. do i have to do full double half crochet all the way row and for the third row, i'll do the same as the first row? so it's going to be by turns or like i have to do like the first row for the rest of the brims? thank you so much i really looking forward to your reply! xx

Or do I need to start over :( beautiful hats!
I wish you did the curly brim version since it’s the picture for the video. When I end my first row, I end with 1 hdc between two increases for the brim. How do I finish the rows? With a slip stitch. Do you have a tut for the curly brim?
She uses size 3 yarn in the video, so if you want the same size as her you’ll need make less rows for the crown. And 5mm hook is the most common for size 4. You can also use the recommended hook size, but the gauge may be different

Say if I use a different yarn and I only have 14 cm, should I do another row. 9 hdc inc?
I’m just curious: what does the slipstitch do and what would happen if omitted?
It secures the stitch and locks it so the yarn doesn't unravel
