IT GETS WORSE!!! Think about this aspect: The company gets a box of Flawless, does the scan, and sees that there is a Logoman inside. They go out and buy another box of flawless, scan it (to be sure there's nothing in it...plus it gives the customer a video of the scan)... then tell their "customer" that nothing was in the case they sent. Now that company has a logoman and the money from the scan. $65 per pack? If they find something massive in there, it's NOTHING for them to go find another pack of it.
Very good point, and simply so easy to do.... They could have a whole inventory of pre-scanned product ready to go. Could even do a quick switcheroo if the customer is on site to watch their box get scanned.

I feel if these people are able to do this without any recourse, I thought card companies will place something to block the scan but that is expensive. I wonder if the card manufacturers can replace the blanks that are in some packs with cards that have a camouflage type of foil print on them, to break up any hit patterns. I don't know what the cost would be, but it would be better than losing money due to no consumer confidence.
They can scan your pack. Say you have a charizard. They could go buy another pack and swap it out and fuk the person who sent in the charizard. Who is to say they won’t swap your shit out if it’s nice?

In regard to the content of the video I fear that nothing good can come from the CT scanning even if they stamp/barcode/label it somehow permanently. The reason why sealed wax has value is because of what is known to already exist on the market and what could possibly be inside. For example say you purchase a $9000 box of 2003 Topps Chrome basketball for Lebron refractor chases. The second the box is scanned and found that none of that exists inside that value basically becomes practically near 0$. And the statistical odds of you having a box like that are extremely low. It’s essentially like the tv game show “let’s make a deal” there’s no deal to be had if the known contents of your box is the $1. For every 1 box that will show a card that you can recoup your value there’s prolly 20,30,40+ boxes that will be absolutely dog shit value. You’d have better odds/return on investment to go set your $10,000 on 00 on roulette. I just don’t see scenario where a collector would risk that much money for a near zero chance to improve their position. And that should absolutely kill this business model of scanning the cards ethically. So if it doesn’t then I’d have SERIOUS concerns of scams and lack of integrity within that company.
It’s not a big deal because not that many people will do it with packs. People already weigh packs for hits, people still buy those packs. It’s more breakers scanning high end boxes like flawless and NT and hitting the logomans and selling the duds to LCS or other breakers.

Every box has a serial number. Register it in a database as scanned. If they are reputable. And break the seal.
