With these CT Scanners being available, the big breakers will always be sure to have access to the best product. I’m sure it was something similar that allowed these same big time breakers to pull 25-30 downtowns from a single case; everyone knows that’s not the norm and a group of “juiced” cases got sent to or got out to the big time breakers. And yet another reason why I don’t do breaks; just buy what you want. If I want to gamble I’ll just go back to Vegas 😎😎

If the card companies start making the high-end boxes made out of lead instead of tin. This would stop it. People been using this for a long time it’s now just getting out you can use an MRI machine just like you can scan your body and look through all the bones you can look through all the cards in a sealed case.
I live 30 Minutes south of Dave and Adam's, in NY. Tonawanda is a neighboring town to Williamsville. I visit Dave and Adam's a few times a year. Its a huge shop! They would definitely have the resources. A few years ago my girlfriend commented on how expensive a box of Flawless was. I told her in front of an employee. Anyone smart wouldn't buy that box, from anyone. I usually would just buy memorabilia there and some cheap boxes. Because they have great in store prices. But could never justify buying a high priced product regardless of the ongoing scandal.
Wouldn’t this be a good thing for Fanatics, as it would drive more people to buy direct through them versus the other major third party online retailers to avoid any speculative tampering?
Yes to that extent it is but I discussed in the last video that if the secondary market loses confidence that reduced spending and liquidity impacts everyone
It would hurt Fanatics too. A lot of paper wealth is tied up in boxes that people thought would be their retirement. Imagine how much those people would lose and decide to stop spending in the hobby.
Hmm, you know what sounds fun? Pretend to be a buyer for these scanners and join these auctions, talk to the other potential buyers, then expose them. A bounty to find who's previously done scans would also be fun. Also just thinking out loud, maybe there is a material out there that would change colors if it were 'ct scanned' and that can be converted into a label on the sealed products to show they weren't scanned.
Alright here is a solution: So we can't stop CT scans but we can make them less effective, by removing foil/special cards and replacing them with one-time use QR codes. Claim your code and the company will send you, your rare card. CT scans need differences in density to be truly effective and show you what's inside. The difference between ink and paper from card to card is too small to be accurately detectable by CT Scans. You still get the joy of opening up rare cards, you just need to wait a few weeks to have it in your hand.
That is what I meant about interim redemptions. I.e. have a product ready to pack out and send. Fill with redemptions. Have them immediately redeemable
I've had 23 spine surgeries. With those come A LOT of CT scans. Well over 50. Every time they ask me if there's metal in my body or on my person. How could they scan these metal cases if metal will interfere with the scanner?
If they’re using CT to scan, a relatively thin layer of lead lining the inside of the box/case would prevent the X-rays from penetrating them. Just make the case heavier.
This CT scanner revelation must have dropped the potential buyers, of so many sealed products, by 50% minimum. If proof came out that a trusted distributor has been doing this (and it has to happen at some point), the ripple effect is going to massive. I had a couple high-end UD boxes that I regretted selling during the boom, now it seems I dodged a bullet.
If there's a way to get ahead, you better believe there's many people taking advantage. I wouldn't trust anything you buy online or in the wild. If you haven't gotten any decent pulls in a while, know you know.
Its going to get worse over time and its for sure a problem. But i don't think its one of those "streamer loot" situations, i doubt any content creators are getting special treatment from these ct scanner companies, i could be wrong, but it feels more like the whole streamer loot conspiracy thing to me.

So the 2024 Topps chrome Black box that i bought for $200.00 with a Hanley Ramirez Auto was scanned????
HQ cards don’t open these anymore
It may be a former or current employee of DA card world if it’s where they used to be located. Someone with industry knowledge and connections.
I think the guys comment is fake tbh
If the card companies start making the high-end boxes made out of lead instead of tin. This would stop it. People been using this for a long time it’s now just getting out you can use an MRI machine just like you can scan your body and look through all the bones you can look through all the cards in a sealed case.
I don't expect panini to do anything other than what will make them the most money, and as a business I suppose that is their right.
It’s fanatics who should be most concerned. They have every licensed
This is a great idea only to show a sealed product is legitimate
Isn't there a law regarding equal weights and measures? If so wouldn't this fall under that category?
Not entirely sure but know similar things have fallen under mail fraud and deceptive sales practices
At this point in the hobby, with so many scammers out there (Panini being the worst!), you got to be crazy to buy a box of anything.
Like I said in the video I’m pretty sure the comment was a troll but the concerns are real around the price of boxes etc
Corruption is everywhere! Trust no one
It’s a sad thing to say but a sign of the times. There are good people than bad ones in this hobby but we just need to remain vigilant
Comment of support. Stop throttling the channel UA-cam!
Thank you my man!
i dont think a ct scanner would work on the regular hobby box of say topps chrome?...only single card boxes like panini one, flawless correct?
It will pick up all the foil, so serial numbers etc
Buy from Walmart etc...this is gonna be a common practice behind the curtains for tcg shops for max profit and sell the crap at a premium
Appreciate you putting information out there.
Appreciate your support mate
I wouldn’t put it past guys scanning product to keep their scams going. They’ve been using scales for years to weigh packs and find hits.
Agree
Use a perforation stamp on every thing you scan. Serial number. They would do this if they cared but they don’t. So collectors are screwed.
Dave and Adams warehouse is in Tonawanda.
Like I said in the video, I think the guy who left the comment was making it up tbh
I've had 23 spine surgeries. With those come A LOT of CT scans. Well over 50. Every time they ask me if there's metal in my body or on my person. How could they scan these metal cases if metal will interfere with the scanner?
Metal is less concerning for a CT per my understanding. MRIs are the one where is extremely dangerous
My thanks for the great info and point of view.
My pleasure! And thank you for kind words
I stopped buying from dave and Adams along time ago because of how trash the boxes were. I blamed it on bad luck but now it seems riged.
I think they are in the clear tbh. Like I said in the video, commenter likely made it up
Don is the man! We need to keep channels like this at the forefront of the hobby.
*Dan
You can call me Don if you want 😂
There has to be a material that isn't too expensive that can be placed in the cases that can block the scanner
also, you should do a video on China. How did they get all of those National VIP high end cards that have flooded eBay?
I think fanatics will solve this pretty quickly
If they’re using CT to scan, a relatively thin layer of lead lining the inside of the box/case would prevent the X-rays from penetrating them. Just make the case heavier.
ALL IVE HEARD IS BOXES OF FLAWLESS I LETS SEE BOXES OF SELECT PRIZM ETC BEING SCANNED
They’ve scanned other packs and we discussed that in some of the other videos
This CT scanner revelation must have dropped the potential buyers, of so many sealed products, by 50% minimum. If proof came out that a trusted distributor has been doing this (and it has to happen at some point), the ripple effect is going to massive. I had a couple high-end UD boxes that I regretted selling during the boom, now it seems I dodged a bullet.
Agree, it’s a ticking time 💣
They need to do something to make it not easy to scan hurts the hobbie so bad.
I'm really curious what the solution to CT scanning is.
That's just terrible
Thanks for the information Dan!
Any time!
Whether it's widespread or not, people need to know.
That is exactly where Dave and Adam's is
As I said in the video I am sure the commenter is making it up
Before I buy a 10 thousand dollar box, I demand to have it scanned.
If there's a way to get ahead, you better believe there's many people taking advantage. I wouldn't trust anything you buy online or in the wild. If you haven't gotten any decent pulls in a while, know you know.
❤❤❤ great channel 👍
Thanks so much
Great info. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
That’s insane 🤦🏼
Sad to hear about your algo problems. I don't actually collect sports cards but still watch you from time to time. Keep up the good work.
Thanks mate, appreciate the support
Maybe time to go back to the exchange card/insert method?
Love your videos! Thanks for all you fo
Glad you like them and thank you for the support
Keep doing your stuff dan
Thanks mate!
I go to you for any info in the hobby. Hopefully UA-cam props you back up. Good luck
Much appreciated mate.
This is juicy 😂
🤣
Its going to get worse over time and its for sure a problem. But i don't think its one of those "streamer loot" situations, i doubt any content creators are getting special treatment from these ct scanner companies, i could be wrong, but it feels more like the whole streamer loot conspiracy thing to me.
What about 1996 skybox e-x2000 basketball? Can they see those?
If the text is foiled they can see it
This is why I won't buy anything wax from the secondary market anymore.
Keep it up Dan, don't let the UA-cam overlords bring you down!
