For me, it’s because Jotaro was a HUGE factor for a LOT of parts. And the fact that many of the themes have some sort of Jotaro leitmotif, however, Jotaro is also one of those that started a lot of the investigations on stands, so like Jonathan he had a large influence on JoJo in general.
Different heroes and villains in each part, but Jotaro and Dio are definitely the 2 faces of the story. It all comes back to those 2 in the overall story.
Ya because Jotaro and Dio are the same I mean that those two are the most important and popular characters in the anime, their fights their memes, everything about them is soooooo great
The answer is obvious really. It’s the goddamn hat. I’m not even joking (much), when the hat itself can be used as a Jojo reference and people will understand it, you know it’s a big part of his design. The way he wears it, the way it often covers one of his eyes, it all adds a ton to his cool factor while also being a fashion piece, which I feel kind of ties together the identity of Jojo characters looking both badass and showy or flamboyant. Just try to imagine scenes of Jotaro without his hat. Does it look less cool to you? I think it does. And Araki knew the hat was cool. Any time he loses the hat he seems quite eager to get it back quickly. At the end of the Geb fight I think he actually remarked on how the stand knocked his hat off, which is kind of a big deal since it seems like it’s basically glued onto his head. Jotaro’s hat ain’t no joke.

The scene was awesome, but I felt that it would've been better if Josuke and the residents of Morioh were the ones to give the final blow to Kira. In part 6, Jotaro chooses not to beat Pucci. Instead, he chooses to save Joylne, his daughter. (and this eventually leads to Emporio's victory over Pucci) This is Jotaro's arc. The protagonist of part 4 is even his bastard son and you get to see Josuke's complicated feelings on the matter and Joseph trying to impress his son and do at least one thing right by him. Most of the time the characters go, GASP, that's Jotaro with his Star Platinum, and he goes Yare Yare and kicks their ass or doesn't. My opinion might change once I watch part 6.
I think a big influence is the fact that Jotaro vs Dio is probably the most iconic fight in the series, partly because of the various memes involving it such as "oh? you're approaching me?" and "ROAD ROLLER DA". I feel like both of those factors would give him a reputation and be known even to people who aren't familiar with the series
I like Jotaro a lot,his badass aura, all his designs, the star platinum, his battle cry, even in the worst situations he still pushing forward and move the heaven and earth to protect his family no matter what. among the others jojo's Jotaro is just built different to me
Thank you so much for not spoiling Stone Ocean 😭🙏 I know the manga has been out for years and years but I really love an analysis like this where anyone can watch and engage without fear of spoilers.
Josuke is my overall favorite. But Jotaro is my respected 2nd/3rd depending on my mood. He is like your old reliable. He’s always there, and I’m always happy to have him included even if he isn’t my favorite.
With. Joseph, he represented the crazy awesome aspect of Jojo well. But to be honest, Jotaro represents not only the self-aware craziness, but also the tendency to take it completely serious in spite of how unusual or mundane the situation is- which the true embodiment of JJBA.
Jotaro is both a stoic badass and a nerd. His imposing stature, cool clothes, and his cheesy clint Eastwood style one liners shows he’s just a huge joke in both the literal and figurative sense.
Fun Fact: Stone Free is the first stand shown in the show because of the manga panels in the beginning of sono chi no sadame Also Jotaro is the only JOJO to be hinted at the end of a part(Part 2)which signifies how important he is
Jonathan is the muscle, Joseph is the jokes, Jotaro is the calm and colected one, Josuke is the caring and protecting fella, Giorno is the one who is the drive to accomplish anything and Jolyne is the spiteful rage to be accepted and loved. For me they all are Jojos ❤️
Jotaro is a character that i enjoyed so much when i rewachted, Araki wrote a character that doesn't show much emotion but Is not emotionless, i love him so much!
I can't speak for anyone else (maybe because he's japanese native and the core audience and author were playing favorites) but for me it's mainly because of the 90s ova and the manga. I saw the 90s anime first and in just a few frames of movement I just felt that this character had such a presence about him, not to mention he's the main guy in the part that would go on to identity the rest of the series.
Honestly, I think of Jonathan as the face of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. He’s literally the one who set it all off. and he was strong asf without a stand. Plus I literally thought “JoJo” was the same person for the first 3 parts 😂 Jonathan, Joseph, and Jotaro look so damn similar! 😅🤣
Because he is kinda the Batman version of Jojo universe. He is a broody, kinda emotionless and cool looking guy. He has anger issues at young age just like Bruce Wayne but settles down after some time. He passes the baton to others but he is there when needed just like Batman and Robins. You know how it is with Batman: If he is there, he will always draw the attention of you and thats same with Jotaro. You will always expect something from him even when he is not at the center.
I didn't care for Jotaro the first time I watched Stardust Crusaders. He kinda just seemed like he didn't talk much and if the gang ever got into trouble, Jotaro would save the day by punching the bad guy harder and faster than anyone thought he could. Jotaro became a full character for me in Part 4. He gets to do more than just punch bad guys, he's noticeably more mature, and we get to see more of his personality come out through his interactions with the residents of Morioh.
He's in the most parts, he outshines Josuke in part 4 despite the fact that Joseph was buried in part 3. Also he was involved in part 5 and heavily in 6. Jonathan, Josuke, Giorno, and Jolyne only appear in their own parts.
He outshines his own daughter too The main villain was most afraid of jotaro But he just won because jotaro was just heavily nerfed more nerfed than part 4
My two faves are Jotaro and Josuke4 (shoutout to Giorno too❤️), but *especially* when they're together. Josuke is adorable on his own, but he gets reactions out of Jotaro that no one else would dare. They're absolutely hilarious together!
For me, it's simply because I learned about the series through the Capcom fighting game, and for a while, I didn't really know it was actually the third part of a whole series even after watching the OVA a little after getting into the game.
His design and the fact that he’s the first stand user Jojo are reason enough to be as iconic as he is, and it’s really cool that Araki really cares about his character arc and refuses to let Jotaro be flanderized.
oh wait i forgot how araki said if stardust crusaders went back to part 2 u would see hermit purple so joseph is the first stand user thats a jojo but the first stand user introduced is jotaro
Part 6 jotaro is probably my favorite jotaro cause he truly does care about Jolyne and if dio's minions weren't coming for him he could've had a life with his wife and jolyne.Part 4 jotaro is also rlly good but i like part 6 jotaro a bit more
Jotaro is in the most parts, being in parts 3 - 6. This makes him the most appearing jojo. You could count him appearing in part 1 in the intro aswell.
I didn't like Jotaro in part 3 but as the series went on I liked him more. The way I see it Jotaro simply matured from being a reserved badass I'm part 3(I like to think he was serious because his mom's life was at stake) to being a more open badass in part 4 then eventually being a father in part 6. Tho if I'm picking favorites I'm a Joseph fan all the way.
when u hear jojo u think of "dio: oh, you're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?" and Jotaro; "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer"
When I think of JoJo I think of Josuke. He embodies the style and feel of the show. He is funny, loveable, and most of all relatable as he is literally just a high schooler.

I like Jotaro a lot,his badass aura, all his designs, the star platinum, his battle cry, even in the worst situations he still pushing forward and move the heaven and earth to protect his family no matter what.
among the others jojo's Jotaro is just built different to me
Whenever i think about jojo i always think about speedwagon
I just love jonathan because of him being the most polite, the closest one to dio, and the one who had started it all
Thank you so much for not spoiling Stone Ocean 😭🙏 I know the manga has been out for years and years but I really love an analysis like this where anyone can watch and engage without fear of spoilers.
Yeah these guys are great
Josuke is my overall favorite. But Jotaro is my respected 2nd/3rd depending on my mood. He is like your old reliable.
He’s always there, and I’m always happy to have him included even if he isn’t my favorite.
Spoiler
Title: why jotaro is the face of jojo
Everyone after part 6: very poor choice of words
With. Joseph, he represented the crazy awesome aspect of Jojo well. But to be honest, Jotaro represents not only the self-aware craziness, but also the tendency to take it completely serious in spite of how unusual or mundane the situation is- which the true embodiment of JJBA.
Because of the finger pose
YESSSSIRRRR
P O I N T
Jotaro is brilliant, has iconic look, plus he is smart and has good detective skills and for that Part 3 will always be the most iconic.
Jotaro my favorite JoJo character even without screen time
I think Jotaro's also considered the face of JJBA because Stardust Crusaders was the first part of Jojo that really blew up in Japan
When I first heard about jojo I thought Jotaro was Jonathan but with upgraded clothing
Same here
Everything about Jotaro just says "Strong silent type". Even his voice. Seriously, Daisuke Ono and Mathew Mercer make him sound awesome.
I think of Joseph. Jotaro is pretty tame.Joseph had the most silly and bizarre personality of the mcs.
Jotaro is both a stoic badass and a nerd. His imposing stature, cool clothes, and his cheesy clint Eastwood style one liners shows he’s just a huge joke in both the literal and figurative sense.
Fun Fact: Stone Free is the first stand shown in the show because of the manga panels in the beginning of sono chi no sadame
Also Jotaro is the only JOJO to be hinted at the end of a part(Part 2)which signifies how important he is
wasn't jolyne hinted at the end of part 5?
@@emerald4740 no that was a edited fan video
@@ps_prague really? I didn't know that was fan made 😅
Jonathan is the muscle, Joseph is the jokes, Jotaro is the calm and colected one, Josuke is the caring and protecting fella, Giorno is the one who is the drive to accomplish anything and Jolyne is the spiteful rage to be accepted and loved. For me they all are Jojos ❤️
Imagine Araki later on kills of stands for another abillity
That’s what I want man it’d be so interesting to see that
Jotaro will always be my absolute favorite and this video perfectly explains why
Jotaro is the GOAT 🤛🏿
Jotaro is the Hero we need, but Not the hero we Wanted
Jotaro is a character that i enjoyed so much when i rewachted, Araki wrote a character that doesn't show much emotion but Is not emotionless, i love him so much!
I can't speak for anyone else (maybe because he's japanese native and the core audience and author were playing favorites) but for me it's mainly because of the 90s ova and the manga. I saw the 90s anime first and in just a few frames of movement I just felt that this character had such a presence about him, not to mention he's the main guy in the part that would go on to identity the rest of the series.
He's the only character who is the same ethnicity as me as well 🇯🇵/🏴/🇮🇹 character like that are rare
Jotaro is literally the only JoJo to appear in EVERY part in the original universe.
At first it was Jotoro till I actually watched the anime and read the manga so I often think of Joseph as the main Jojo.
Jotaro is my adult equivalent of that movie character one would watch as a child and then base their entire personality around
Jotaro has an iconic character design that appeals to most people.
Honestly, Jotaro is probably my favorite Jojo, but not for being the protagonist of Part 3, but for him in Parts 4 and 6. Also 8.
8? You mean Yoshikage Kira in part 8
@@mr.quilava2062 yes that's the joke
His best fights and style are still in part 3 though
@@bloobushviper5709 unfunny joke
Same..i dont care about him that much in part 3...but part 4 and part 6 literally made jotaro became my top 3 favourite jojo lol
My personal favorite Jojo and protag in Jjba he’s the poster boy of Jojo for a reason
I first thought Jojo was a show where different people fight and I thought that there was only one Jojo
He outshines his own daughter too
The main villain was most afraid of jotaro
But he just won because jotaro was just heavily nerfed more nerfed than part 4
My two faves are Jotaro and Josuke4 (shoutout to Giorno too❤️), but *especially* when they're together. Josuke is adorable on his own, but he gets reactions out of Jotaro that no one else would dare. They're absolutely hilarious together!
For me, it's simply because I learned about the series through the Capcom fighting game, and for a while, I didn't really know it was actually the third part of a whole series even after watching the OVA a little after getting into the game.
Jonathan for sure. He started the amazing bloodline (that we know) after all
Agreed
His design and the fact that he’s the first stand user Jojo are reason enough to be as iconic as he is, and it’s really cool that Araki really cares about his character arc and refuses to let Jotaro be flanderized.
3:18 OMG Jotaro Part 3 in Part 4 art style
oh wait i forgot how araki said if stardust crusaders went back to part 2 u would see hermit purple so joseph is the first stand user thats a jojo but the first stand user introduced is jotaro
Part 6 jotaro is probably my favorite jotaro cause he truly does care about Jolyne and if dio's minions weren't coming for him he could've had a life with his wife and jolyne.Part 4 jotaro is also rlly good but i like part 6 jotaro a bit more
all of the jojo's stand battlecry has some relationship with star platinum and jotaro for instance, Dora Muda ora, ora, ora.
Jotaro is in the most parts, being in parts 3 - 6. This makes him the most appearing jojo. You could count him appearing in part 1 in the intro aswell.
Jotaro being the JoJo is the anime equivalent of thinking link was Zelda
idk why but when I think of jojo I just think of the title screen.
Good video by the way
Jotaro got the best design , godly physique (in part 3 ) , and badass personality he just strikes with so many readers who aren’t mega fans
The first stand user, an important character in 3 parts, iconic design... defeated the most iconic villain...
you should make a video of ur least favourite stands
Because he was in was like in 3 parts and played heavily into the story in those three parts even as a side character
Because my grandson is cool
The strong silent type was very popular back then
I didn't like Jotaro in part 3 but as the series went on I liked him more. The way I see it Jotaro simply matured from being a reserved badass I'm part 3(I like to think he was serious because his mom's life was at stake) to being a more open badass in part 4 then eventually being a father in part 6. Tho if I'm picking favorites I'm a Joseph fan all the way.
I love jotaro so much that I punched a sand bag with Ora Ora.
when u hear jojo u think of "dio: oh, you're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?" and Jotaro; "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer"
When I think of JoJo I think of Josuke. He embodies the style and feel of the show. He is funny, loveable, and most of all relatable as he is literally just a high schooler.
