I mean yeah, of course, he’s basically just goodness incarnate which is ironically why he’s not very interesting. The reason he’s a 6/10 in character is because he’s an 11/10 person
Giorno is basically what Jonathan would've been if he was poor, tortured, tormented. He had to steal in order to survive but he was always kind to others like Jonathan. He was gentleman for most of the part. Maybe that's what araki had in his mind creating him. For me, he is one of the best characters in jojo.
So Giorno is basically just Jonathan is he lived in dios life. Although dio went through worse shit and Giorno did have help from gangster then but I can see it
@@famousdestroyer7 Giorno had to perform an act of selflessness before he began receiving help from that gangster, so it was in him all along. Dio probably would have sold the gangster out without hesitation lmao
@Gan Tz I agree. For someone who has the most bizarre and unique bloodline. (Both dio and Jonathan). I didn’t find him interesting and it felt as if he was the Jobro as the story focuses mainly on Bruno.
Naw you guys...I think you're really underselling Giorno. There are essays out there that might help you appreciate what Araki was trying to do with him.
With Jonathan, while I do agree some of his simplicity backfires on him- leaving him to be perceived as a bland and reactionary character- which is true to some extent. However, it’s truly his death scene that truly highlights his benevolence- telling Erina to save a baby he doesn’t know and embraces DIO, a monster that caused Jonathan misery the latter didn’t deserve- with selfless love- likely figuring DIO on some level, missed that from his own mother. It’s that kind of purity that makes him stand out against his descendants along with his gentleman demeanor/honor that inspired the loyalty of Speedwagon and redeemed Bruford.
That's what I LOVE about Johnatan, his simplicity, compasion and will is so strong you can still see influences of him in everyone of his descendants, despite many of them being straight criminals and knowing almost nothing of him besides him being a gentleman and sacrificing his life to save the world
Josuk8 is so underrated, like not only is it one of the best representations of amnesia in media since its accurate down to little details and the fact that he is the most human jostar, no overbearing heroism, no unrealistic edginess, no quirky one liners, just a confused dude doing the only thing he knows in an alien area, not to mention he is by far some of the most interesting fights in the series
Hey have u heard of sun blood vendetta? Its a motion comic/ animation created to be a fan part of jojo taking place in mexico. Crazy quality and its made by the official dub voice of abbaccio and they casted the official voice of jolyne before even actual david productions did so the voice acting is just on point as the art and vibe. Plz check it out im only promoting this because I doubt any jojo fan wouldn’t appreciate hearing about this and i think its Severely underappreciated. Thank you
After finishing part 8 I couldn’t think that Joseph was my favorite anymore I still love him head an easy 2nd but man I freaking love Josuke so much as exited as I am for the likely part7 anime I’d be lying if I wasn’t looking more towards Part 8!
Jolyne will be always my favorite, her growth is the most notable (besides Jhonny) during her part, learning how to fight and making mistakes while she was trying to save her father and proving her value as Joestar. Also she is a good counterpart for Pucci, who is also my favorite villain.
@Christina Azarian nah, part 6 is one of the best, Araki did a lot of foreshadowing to the end and its cast is one the most interesting (one living stand and the brother of the main villain, for example). My only complaint is that I wanted more interactions between the party, certainly it feels rushed towards the end. But the tragic ending, closing the Joestar saga with DIO, *chef kiss*
@Christina Azarian part 6 is a masterpiece. it ended in the most poetic way possible the thing that i very liked in this part is the power scaling establishment where there's no bs way to defeat the main villain. the tools are already established (discs) from the start, as well as its activation and pre-requisites. unlike some random giorno bullshit happening in 5, or the most pathetic one: a fucking deus ex machina bs in part 4. and this is also the first time the plot has been serious about anything, so that's why it's a fresh breath of air when i was reading it
Jolyne is the worst Joestar. Literally loses her own series even though she was carried harder than any of the other protagonists. Even loses her Jojo name because she was such a letdown to the series.
I feel like Josuke is also underused so much in his own story, just like how you said Giorno was. Like yeah, he is the most relatable and also the most fun Joestar after Joseph, but I feel like he gets overshadowed by nearly every member of the Morioh Gang. Rohan had a more personal reason to find Kira because of his connection to Reimi and Koichi had a lot of character development through the story, even his stand develops. Even Okuyasu had more character development after gaining the confidence to make his own decisions after seeing his brother in the afterlife while Josuke remained a static character through the whole part. Not to mention how Josuke had less rivalry with the main villain than Rohan, Jotaro or Koichi and Josuke wasn't even the one who defeated Kira, it was Jotaro who dealt the final blow. Overall Josuke had the potential to be a great Jojo but he was just underutilized so much that he never even feels like the MAIN protagonist of his story.
I think josuke was a great jojo, but I get your point. He was shown very little in DIU, which is surprising since he's the main jojo. Also, I feel josuke and kira have a very personal relationship that goes deep into their characters and stands. For example, killer queen can destroy while josuke fixes. Also crazy diamond can perfectly counter killer queens first bomb and SHA. And while josuke stands out but is a nice kid, kira blends in but is evil. And josuke did the most damage against kira in the final battle.
What are you talking about jouske and giorno got the most screen time in they're parts and a lot more then Jonathan for obvious reasons but still the reason you never see them again is they're completed they're done no more.
I'd say Josuke is something of the true heir to Jonathan's character amidst the leads. We go back to a purehearted, just overall good kid who loves his family, takes pride in where he comes from and doesn't have a mean-spirited bone in his body. Hell, the way in which his Stand is a manifestation of his charitable, loving nature in its appearance and powers is even more evocative of Jonathan than Star Platinum was, but he's what happens when you take Jonathan and expand upon him. Not just being good, but _why,_ he's so good and making it _relatable._ You get to really see where Josuke comes from, what motivated him to start being the way he was, the delinquent who saved him and his mom in the snow, his mother raising him alone, his grandfather being his guidance in life -- and when his grandfather gets Uncle Ben'd, it truly inspires a sort of Spider-Man change in Josuke. And that's something you can say about him, he's very much the Peter Parker of manga in the best ways. Friendly neighborhood Stand User, who just wants to defend his town. He's not out to save the world or vanquish evil, he just wants to keep people safe. Giorno on the other hand is essentially the closest thing to a villain protagonist of the Joestar line. He's not a nice person, and he's not a good person, either. His first entrance shows this; he pretends to stop a pickpocket and return the wallet to the girls who lost it only to rob them himself, and we see that, unlike Jotaro who will only ever kill an enemy if it's absolutely necessary, and Josuke who just won't kill at all (Not including Jonathan and Joseph since they fought literal inhuman monsters) Giorno will straight up murder a motherfucker and not lose sleep. But what keeps him in line is that he has ideals. He doesn't really have morals, but he has a *rock-solid* ethical code that he _will_ die for. Giorno honestly succeeds in living up to what he effectively is: a Brando tempered by a Joestar's inclinations. ...And yeah, Johnny is effectively just the best protagonist out of all of 'em; he has the most dynamic and well-traveled journey from jackass to hero of the whole lot.
josuke for me, is a fusion of jonathan, joseph and jotaro. His kindness and good will is inherited from jonathan, and even a bit of his stand as it can heal just like jonathans hamon and is super strong. He's also very chill and willing to make new friends, even if they tried to kill him. His wits, goofy nature, cheating and smarts are all from his father joseph, the most direct inspiration for him. He's goofy like how joseph would act, but is secretly a battle genius and uses his stand is crazy ways to trick his enemies. Also his cheating of rohan out of his money is defo a joseph trait. His design and stand is an evolution of jotaro. While jotaro was based on clint eastwood and the rougher delinquents of the time, josuke is based on prince and a much gentler, kinder deliquent. His design takes the school uniform of jotaro and stylizes it to match prince and josuke eccentric nature. And his stand is very clearly based on star platinum. Its big, strong and surprising looks alot like the world. But instead of being a power focused and battle crazy as star platinum, its ability makes it better at supporing and helping people, in stark contrast to the offensive OP time stop of star platinum. So in all, josuke has the kindness of jonathan, the smarts of joseph, and the design/power of jotaro.
@@ProjektTaku I don't think Josuke is a "evolution" from Jotaro. Josuke is just a extroverted person while Jotaro is introverted, they are just different people. And as a introverted myself i preffer Jotaro
I kinda feel like Girono needed another story. I don't mean that he should be in part 6 but there is a lot to his character that isn't really explored in Part 5 because he has to share screen time with something like 6 characters at once. I feel like he should be like Jotaro. He has his own part that does a decent enough job, but its the other stories that really build upon the character that makes him truly great.
It does suck a bit because much of what we see of Giorno is either cementing his own resolve and elevating others. Even in Purple Haze Feedback, Giorno is still elevating others and giving them chances to show resolve and redeem themselves.
The only part were tells everything about Jotaro as a character is part 3. While in the others parts tell nothing new about his personality. But for Giorno i agree, he should had another part
I totally agree. Especially with the way Part 5 ends, I think Araki could craft a beautiful epilogue/continuation of Giorno’s story, as being the new boss of the largest gang in Italy HAS to have interesting stories to be told
Jotaro is my favorite simply because of his stoic nature hiding his feelings from his enemies while still caring deeply for his friends and family, showing it by his actions.
His approach to relationships also suffers because of it, expressionless resolve may work in battle but as jotaro proved, its not so good in marriage. The thing i love most about jotaro is that he is an immovable pillar that protects and nurtures people in his own way but we are also shown the consequences of that trait. He can't express his emotions because of what he's been trough and thanks to that he usually ends up alone to shoulder the responsibility of wielding the most powerful stand in the og verse(ignoring requiem of course). It makes him somewhat tragic wich gives him a depth many similar characters simply don't have.
Gappy had an incredible arc of struggling to find the origin of his existance, to then struggling with the truth about this, and after overcoming it, cementing his goals to Holly in the T.G Hospital, tremendous.
And then he decides to not go further with all of this madness at the end because he knows that it will hurt more people if he does and he is the last glimmer of hope for the higashikatas being the one to influence them besides norisuke and joubin
I forgot if it was a fan theory or something but I saw somewhere that Gappy is Josuke and Kira at the same time In a different universe if that makes sense
With Giorno, he’s a mature beyond his years, stoic, kind with a ruthless streak to those who deserve it, and has what Crazy Diamond does- only even more animal/plant/life-energy based and that’s before he gets Requiem- which aside from maybe the reboot, has no Stand capable of matching up. The major flaw is that it’s an ensemble story and he’s essentially a newcomer to an established implied narrative battle between the more prominent Bucciarati and the main villain, Diavolo- directing the group to defeating the source of misery in Italy and cleaning up after Bucciarati. While Giorno’s moments do stand out, it ultimately is Bruno’s group story.
@@rylenmccoochie4198 in terms of potential in its ability, yes. In power and speed, no. In how they're used, no. Josuke is a far better stand user than giorno.
josuk8 is perfectly represented by go beyond. His previous bubbles came from josefumi (plunder) and kira (explosion) as he learned about his identity. But go beyond is his own ability he created but formed from his previous bubbles, like how josuk8 was created by josefumi undergoing equivalent exchange with kira. And it doesn't exist, just like how josuk8 doesn't really exist.
Jotaro was my favorite Joestar due to him being the one with the most exposure. After watching the future parts, Giorno and Josuke became my favorite ones. I like all the Jojo's to be honest Jonathan does get to much flack. Jonathan tries to do the right thing even after the abuse at the hands of his father and Dio. He still wants the best in life and in people.
After Joseph, Jolyne Cujoh was an immediate favorite of mine and yea not only because I'm gay for her but the fact that she's very adaptable and versatile. I can see bits of Giorno in her when it comes to being intuitive, Jotaro in being brutal to her enemies, and Joseph when it comes to unpredictability. She indeed embodies the essence of a Joestar. I can see how realistic of a character Araki wanted her to be, to the extent wherein she's actually relatable (atleast for me). Easily one of the longer parts in JJBA having 158 chapters, it just showcases how far her resolve and strong conviction to save her father runs. Her stages of growth as an individual is very evident. I also very much love how strongly rooted her decisions and judgements are, literally a "Now or Never" personality which is something that isn't really innate to the Joestars apart from Joseph. Plus, she actually has a proper and solid hold onto things, she makes incredibly quick decisions in order to achieve an objective without jeopardizing her current situation as much as possible despite having a non-OP Stand, but a simple, tricky, yet very adaptable one (much like Bucciarati's). She has a very attractive personality too and has strong sense of camaraderie (as expected in every jojo part), she knows which battles to pick which instantly makes her a grounded character. I just think the writeup in her part could've been better though (I don't blame Araki for this, could be Shonen Jump issues). I know everyone has different opinions but i just won't trust anyone who dislikes Jolyne, including those who think so just because she's a girl. Like pls grow up. She's a badass and can kick your ass just like every Joestar could.
What you said is also a fact, i was just pertaining to what he did with Steely Dan. He oftentimes gets brutal with his enemies when they have really pissed him off. I can see that in Jolyne too. Both of their patience and tolerance aren't that exceptional after all. Just that observation is all i meant.
its such a shame because jolyne just seems like a fun girl to be with, unfortunately stone ocean's stand fights were boring and the plot was confusing (most importantly, misogyny) so jojo fans read part 6 as quick as they could to get to part 7 and on
@@neonangelsrequiem09 well the plot WAS actually confusing. This isnt a matter of being mentally weak. I read the manga before the anime released and sometimes it was just a "it just works" moment for me. I don't get why the dio sons had to be added, or why did ermes just let herself die? OR why did star platnium just decline jolyne? This is a result of araki not planning out stone ocean well and making last minute changes. Did it turn out for the better though? Maybe. And don't assume people's mental strength. I don't wanna sound like a nerd but I could say that I'm mentally strong/ learn things quickly.
jolyne is cool. she's my personal favourite character in jojo. man's right. if you say jolyne sucks then you deffinately speed read part 6 and that's as good as if not worse than part skipping
With Jolyne, she’s definitely not the token saintly girl amongst boys, she’s too crass, perverted and punkish for that. She is however, a very adaptable character, going from a delinquent who sought love in the wrong places with understandable daddy issues to a fierce badass that doesn’t take nonsense from no one while also having a Stand is very versatile. My only criticism is that she loses her protagonist role to Emporio of all people, which either a well done shock or a bait switch that leads to a contrived way to deal with Pucci who’s god mode at that point.
@@realo3503 1. Johnny- he undergoes the most development as a character and his backstory is the most explored- with it tying it into his development. 2. Joseph- the most dynamic personality, with his unorthodox fighting style and general unpredictability. Even with diminished roles over time, he still has major moments. 3. Josuke- he’s got a versatile power, a down to earth personality that still has unique quirks and both funny and badass at the same time. 4. Jolyne- she’s flawed, but she adapts well into a true badass. 5. Jotaro- he’s a badass who’s only fault is that he starts off as a unemotional jerk with Polneraff standing out more than him. He does get better as a stoic mentor going forward. 6. Giorno- he does have great moments but his subdued nature undermines his nice yet ruthless nature and is overall overshadowed by Bruno in the narrative. 7. Jonathan is basic- a pure hearted gentleman, but that’s because he’s the foundation. His too good for the earth personality helps him to be unique, but DIO and Speedwagon overshadowed his presence in the main narrative. 8. Josuke/Gappy- he started off as interesting as an amnesiac hero with a quirky personality, but gradually he becomes somewhat aimless once his initial mystery is solved- with the Higashikata family, Mamezuku, Yasuho, Tooru, and the people who composed him- all overshadowed him in the narrative. Additionally, his Stand compared to all of the others, looks very dopey and it’s a wasted moment that it didn’t evolve physically in addition to getting a new ability to help it stand out more.
@@animefan77 Ah really? Personally I feel like Gappy is my personal favorite. He's a guy who starts off with no knowledge, in a haze. However, he slowly finds out about his past lives, and finds out the truth about himself, and even though he has no connection to his past lives he still decides to fight for those who came before him. Dreams over memories, all that jazz.
Jolyne and joseph is the best jojo for me from the original universe. idk, both character really carry their own story and not over shadowed by the side character. They are involved in 95% part of their story.
@@08xac68 Hey have u heard of sun blood vendetta? Its a motion comic/ animation created to be a fan part of jojo taking place in mexico. @@08xac68this just means that jolyne had no interesting side characters in her series that could carry parts of the story alone. and its also ironic to say this because every other jojo has defeated their villain while EMPORIO beats Pucci even dealing the final blow and everything while Jotaro was a large part of the battle against Pucci.
I always imagined SBR to be the story of Johnny growing from a scumbag into a genuinely good person, but he is by far the most human protagonist in my opinion shown by (spoiler) his death in part 8. Even though he has grown he still gives into his desires, and after that he still wants to be good, but then he dies. That’s just my interpretation of Johnny though.
Joseph is the Florida man of Jojo's but cool as fuck and he's so disadvantaged when it comes to abilities compared to everyone else. Yet he still uses everything to his advantage and leads to the most attention grabbing fights in the whole series. His standout character drives his individual part's story forward in an exciting and entertaining way. Got married and had children that all survived, Is one of the richest men in new york and the richest in the Joestar bloodline (Not counting Jorge Joestar I), Lived the longest and even (Spoilers) outlived every member of the Stardust Crusaders despite being the oldest, Is one of the smartest JoJos and arguably the most battle smart JoJo of them all, Has one of the best openings, *Has a dubstep character theme, and crashed 3 planes, sent an aztec stripper to space and survived a volcano explosion that sent him miles into the sky (madlad)*
I mean he technically hasnt outlived jotaro yet…we dont know anything about post part 6 except that Jotaro and stuff are back alive albeit never experiencing p6.
Disadvantaged? Joseph in part 2 is absolutely broken and always a step ahead of all his enemies. He also gets 99% of the fights. We still love him though.
With Joseph, he’s very much his own category- He’s too genuinely strategic to be the hot-blooded hero archetype that relies on instinct and he’s too passionate to be the typical strategic character that tend to be stoic. He’s unpredictable- genuinely funny one moment and audaciously charismatic the next. He also undergoes an arc in which he slowly learns to truly respect others while maintaining what’s his core. While his role gradually gets diminished in later parts, he maintains the over-the-top nature that makes Jojo so bizarre.
Actually Giorno is definitely a favorite JoJo of mine. He’s underrated. I think his outlook and philosophy on life is very interesting. He’s a kind hearted dude (for a mobster) but he also becomes insanely mad about evil for evil’s sake. He’s idealistic in the best way, despite dark origins. I think Giorno represents hope even in a very dark world. And it helps that he’s a clever badass with an OP stand.
I'm extremely fond of Giorno, but I think much of my love for him comes from his potential rather than what we actually see in Vento Aureo. Like many have already pointed out, he's the perfect combination of Joestar compassion and righteousness with Brando ruthlessness and ambition, with a solid backstory and a clear, compelling goal. Just think about the jarring dichotomy of his polite demeanor towards his allies and grief at Narancia's death (and the symbolism of him looking at his own dead body; "the wounds on him are my own," anyone?) and his cold disgust for people like Cioccolata and Diavolo, who he subjects to excruciating pain without hesitation. He is capable of tremendous empathy and understanding, but he's eerily prepared to turn those traits off when it best suits him. His observant nature means he is able to quickly judge whether others deserve mercy or punishment. And once he decides he wants to accomplish something, nothing and no one will stop him. Unfortunately, I can't help but feel that his story was cut short just before it reached its most interesting phase: what happens after he gets what he wants? Because like I said, one of his greatest strengths is his ability to quickly read people, to judge whether they are good or evil (which, to me, has always just seemed like an abused child's shorthand for "safe" and "unsafe"). It's a surprisingly black-and-white perspective for a character whose very existence is so steeped in grey. His insights about others hold true during Part 5, because he happened to fall in with a group that shares either his noble motivations or some sort of sympathetic background (outcasts attract outcasts, after all). It's a simple worldview, and if the narrative did not validate his judgments, it would seem like a very naive one as well. But what about after Giorno becomes the leader of Passione, and needs to confront the day-to-day reality of what running the mafia entails? What about the splinter factions, the covert groups, the government corruption, the enemies by circumstance, the backstabbing of allies, the inevitable civilian casualties? How high of a standard does he hold himself to, how does he rationalize his immoral acts for the greater good, how does he solve an unavoidable moral dilemma, and how does he react when he makes a grave error in judgement that calls his godlike status into question? Hell, how does he cope with the revelation of who his father really was: the living embodiment of evil, whose origins are disturbingly similar to his own? Can he, like his other father Jonathan, feel compassion for a monster - one who is a hundred times worse than the one he damned to hell? (Also, I would have given the world to see him interact with the rest of his family, especially Jotaro. Those two would have so much to discuss, like... um... animals! Yeah. Let's ignore the elephant in the room and talk about jellyfish instead.) It's such a phenomenal setup for a character: take a traumatized teenager with an idealistic dream to prevent any more children from being hurt like he was, a sensitive heart shielded by a shrewd and calculating mind, and a code of ethics that is both loose to the point of hypocrisy and rigid to the point of unenforcability. Give that teenager virtually unlimited political and supernatural power. And then, put him into situations where all of that power is still inadequate. But viewed through that lens, that's all Vento Aureo is: a really fantastic origin story that ends much too soon. Tl;dr: If Araki were to rewrite Part 5 today, with all the practice he's had creating sensational morally ambiguous characters, Giorno Giovanna would have been the single greatest antihero in all of manga. As he is now, he's just pretty cool.
i agree with you and this is why i personally hate part 6. there was no reason to go back to the dio plot straightaway when part 4 and part 5 are arguably top 3 most popular parts (5 wins by a longshot) and we should have seen atleast one more part where giorno returns for a chapter or two (like jotaro in part 5 or joseph in part 4) or he himself could have become the main villain/final villain
I do like how later works and interpretations of Jonathan (ie, All-star Battle and Eyes of Heaven) make him really down to earth and wholesome, with the fandom mirroring this. I'll just never understand why Araki's modern depictions of Jonathan have his wear Caesar's headband while Joseph gets an aviator hat with goggles.
Giorno's motivations felt kinda lackluster to me because I've always felt like Bruno had a more personal motivation to defeat the Boss and end the drug trade than Giorno because of his backstory showing how drugs ruined his life and how he betrayed the Boss because of how much he cared about Trish, while Giorno's motivation to end drugs were rooted in naive idealism of "changing the world" which is a lot less compelling to me.
yeah. Also, bruno used his stand sticky fingers more interestingly. The way his utilizes his stand sticky fingers is super fun and not how you would expect it to be used.
Is it really all that naive? Giorno personally witnessed that corruption himself and his entire personality is a byproduct of that god awful environment. Bruno's goal and motivation is amazing, but it's not true to diss Giorno's when Diavolo planted seeds that completely ruined his home town and Gio wanted to do good like his personal hero. Him being ambitious and wanting to take over the city for himself is pretty cool.
@@nuibaba280 but its still not very personal or a good enough reason. Just wanting to stop someone to be good is a pretty lackluster motive, nothing compared to bruno's motivation.
there's another aspect of part4 to part8 that's makes gappy is my number one joestar. the duality with the main villain. both gappy and tooru, heck even jobin have mommy issues. and yet, araki shows 3 different ways of interpreting it to us reader. that speech gappy says about wanting to save holly while in the middle of pursuing head doctor was an explosion. and also, bro was a nobody who wanted to know about his past so bad he even makes other be in a dangerous situation to became a nobody who's accepted what he have at the end of jojolion is also a good point in my heart
Part 6 was my favorite part while I was reading it. Then, part 7 was my favorite part. I don’t know why people complained about Jobin not being part 8’s main villain. He wasn’t set up to be the main villain, he was clearly just part of the bigger picture.
With Josuke, he’s very fun, but in a different way than Joseph, he’s a normal kid- mischievous, trying to be cool, and friendly. His anger trigger has a heartwarming excuse and he’s probably the genuinely social of the current pre reboot JoJos. Also, while Star Platinum is an incarnation of raw might, Crazy Diamond is a powerhouse, but with a seemingly just a helpful healing factor that’s very versatile in unorthodox usage- which becomes the series’ staple going forward.
I love how crazy diamond mirrors but twists star platinum and how josuke uses it. Its strong and powerful like star platinum, but has a kind a helpful power, unlike star platinum's offensive power.
With Jotaro, compared to Jonathan’s gentlemanly boyishness and Joseph’s lively boisterousness, is a stoic, doesn’t take nonsense from anyone delinquent with a calm demeanor that hides both his compassion and passionate Justice against evil. His going to save his mother from death in spite of the immense dangers he faces in spite of being annoyed by her cheerfulness, says volumes about him. He’s hard to get at a first impression- a distant, seemingly misogynistic jerk that is difficult to root for. As time passes on, his depths are revealed- he’s a tactical fighter that’s able to adapt, caring for comrades, and does have a sense of honor. His later appearances in future parts explore his development into a mature mentor and his flaws flesh him out as a parent that wants to connect with his child, but his duties estranged him- which make him even more tragic.
Jotaro did nothing misogynistic though, he is just rude. And i say this as a woman. Also it's funny how people don't care when Jotaro is rude with man.
Jolyne is my favorite mainly because shes not given a busted ability or a complete ass pull ending. Everything she did was entirely through hard work and the options she was given. Her stand is my favorite of them too. Its simple, adaptable, and very strong in the right hands. There are no abilities really given to Stone Free its all just ways types of ways strings can be used ranging from restraint, to detection, to communication (atleast in the beginning), to protection with bulletproof fibers being woven. It has flaws like the humidity in the air, she cant use too much thread at once, the strings are 100% breakable. I just love how her character and strengths is earned almost entirely through hard work and wits. Its all simple "Who can make better use of what they have and what they experienced to obtain victory" and the other joestars and giorno I just feel dont have it the way jolyne does.
With Johnny, he’s someone who’s underwent tragedy, became bitter from it, got karma from his bitterness, became jaded from the karma, and developed one of the most solid friendships in the franchise to get out of his cynicism. He ends up less cynical by the end, but outside of the latter’s few notable sinful traits, I’d argue his ultimate goals that he gets from his friend aren’t that different from the main villain’s- saving certain people for personal reasons. And his initial reasons are even more selfish in the beginning. His Stand undergoes the best development visually, going from a small, cute thing into a powerhouse that I’d argue matches GER in sheer broken power.
Jonathan is a personal fav for me , he's just nice to everyone kinda like Superman it just works for me. And I guess with people in real life disagreeing about every single thing it's just a relief to see someone like that.
Giorno is my all time favorite character in fiction and the reason why is the argument that ever uses against him. During the very shot screen time we see giorno, he really got to set his place in the story, show his strength and weaknesses and fully get fletched out as a character. And in the end of the story Giorno really becomes perfected with (SPOILER) the death of Buccarati and the gang. I can go on and on on why I love him and thats why he always will be my nr. 1. 11/10
Joylene's enemies have some of the most complicated stand abilities that I don't see in previous iterations. Araki used her as a platform to show abilities that when used can take out even the star crusaders. I mean Jail break , Limp Bizkit, Whitesnake, Survivor .....very scary abilities.
I think you’re missing some stuff on gappy, he finds an identity throughout the part, an identity of himself that he struggles to find the entire part, the last couple of pages shows him finally being a part of something after worrying that no one cares about him the entire part
For me Giorno is the best protagonist, the way he works with in the subtext of the story and he’s not the leader of the group (like other joestars) but he slowly begins to inspire the members of passione, even bucceratti at some point, being some what the inheritor. He’s earns the thrust of the gang, with his arrival everyone resolve change for the better. By the end of part 5 giorno basically becomes the leader of the gang and I just love the subtlety in how he works as a protagonist.
Jolyne was just held back by her setting imo. She had such a versatile stand yet Araki figuratively imprisoned himself in terms of storytelling. Not that the writing is bad, bc it’s some of the best in the series. it just lacks variety.
what i love about jonathan is that he does not break. ever. he is the 100% good guy through and through, which for me makes for a character that is so deeply into a trope that he even comes off of it, since many other good hearted protagonists always have a bad moment which they doubt their morals or something like that.
Guess I'll just list out my own thoughts Jonathan: The sort of character who benefits greatly from the reader's imagination. What we see from him is all pretty basic stuff. He's noble, kind, and selfless, someone who simply wants to be the best person they can be. His personality seems to be more of a starting framework than a full-fledged character. The Anime also doesn't do him any favors. In the beginning of Phantom Blood, there are a few scenes in the Manga that were cut from the Anime, presumably to ensure that the opening arc would fit into one episode. A scene of Dio openly stealing from Jonathan, as well as a few scenes of Jonathan wondering if he'll always be at Dio's mercy for the rest of his life. These scenes help set up for his inital childhood confrontation with Dio after Danny is killed, giving more strength into Jonathan's realization that he has to be the one to pull himself out from underneath Dio's shadow. After this, one can infer that Jonathan's personal motive to defeat Dio is to remove Dio's shadow from his life completely, though this is only somewhat referenced in the Joestar Mansion battle ("Settling the Youth with Dio" and all that). In the end, it's still a simple motive, but a gives him a bit more character. In the end, the major appeal to Jonathan is just that he's a kind soul in a world where such a thing seems rarer by the day. A reminder that there's good to be found anywhere, even in one's own enemy. Joseph: My personal favorite (confident, quippy characters are my usual favorite). Joseph, as well as the rest of Battle Tendency, are what made me decide JoJo was fantastic. I liked Phantom Blood, don't get me wrong, but Part II is what got me *invested* in the series. He's skilled and unpredictable, which lends both a fun factor and a cool factor to any action scene he's in, which helps the reader stay interested in what's going on. Admittedly, his development isn't the most clear-cut either, but his arc is there, him learning to work as part of a group and consider everyone else who is involved in the same cause he is, even if it has to be taught to him the hard way. In Part 3, he's grown into a leader who helps keep the Crusaders together, even after losing Avdol for most of the journey, he still does his best to look out for everyone despite their (mostly Polnaereff's) unpredictable actions. And while he's older, he's still himself, goofy and ready for adventure. Seeing this side of him appear to vanish in Part 4 hits hard, showing just how long it's been, and also the lasting effects of the two incredibly impactful adventures he's gone on in his life. This isn't too much of a hot take, but after the Achtung Baby arc, he does seem to have improved somewhat in the few moments we see him, perhaps due to him building a (offscreen) bond with Josuke, and by the end of the arc, it seems as though he's going to be alright. Couldn't ask for more Jotaro: I was not a fan of Jotaro at first, but things change. During my first read of Stardust Crusaders, he came off as little more than a bit of a jerk who seemed otherwise uninteresting. However, after seeing some fan takes on the character, I slowly started noticing the other bits of his character. Realizing that most of my favorite arcs in Part 3 were ones he was featured in definitely helped. In part 3, he certainly puts up a front to give him a tough image, but he mostly appears tough due to his rough appearance and his habit of being quiet unless something really pisses him off. "The less he spoke, the more he heard" would be a pretty good way to describe him. Him being a jerk was a completely wrong take on my part as well, as he truly does care about his mother, her being his motivation throughout the journey, and his new comrades, as he shows faith in Kakyoin during the Lovers battle, or acknowledging Polnareff's strength during the Anubis fight. In Part 4, he's melloed out considerably, still putting his keen observational skills to use and keeping his outbursts to a minimum. He is an excellent mentor figure to both Josuke and Koichi, trusting Josuke to make the shot against Ratt, and of course, acknowledging Koichi's reliability. Finally, through Part 6, we see Jotaro trying to be a father in a world that just won't let him. I wasn't too convinced of his sincerity the first time I read Stone Ocean, but further readthroughs helped, hopefully his character can be well conveyed when Netflix releases the last third of Stone Ocean in September 2025 Josuke: As I mentioned earlier, I wasn't too big on Jotaro my first time reading through the series. Josuke on the other hand, was a whole different situation. Part 4 was the first part that I knew almost nothing about when I first read through the series, and Josuke made an excellent first impression. While he isn't my favorite of the bunch, I will say his development feels the most consistent over the course of part 4, even with Koichi taking the spotlight every so often. After Sheer Heart Attack, the story mostly stops focusing on Koichi, which gives Josuke his real chance to shine. Highway Star is one of my favorite arcs in DiU, mostly because of Josuke and his creative ways of using Crazy Diamond. In my opinion, Josuke helps tie the story together, being able to approach the events of the story from the perspective of the average Morioh resident while still managing to have a unique personality. He doesn't do much outside of the part, and he doesn't have to. He simply helps out his own little part of the world, just like that mysterious stranger once helped him (Will write the rest of this later, I've got other things to do today)
i like how hes like "yeah jonethan is kinda one note and they just want a whole good vs evil thing but thats the problem... meanwhile jotaro is so amazing i mean sure hes kinda one note and boring but thats what i love about him hes just a good guy that has to save the day"
I think giorno is by far the best to carry the joestar blood which is ironic. All other joestars only got involved in shit once it involved them or their very way of life. Giorno however much like his father Dio he took initiative and did what he needed to do to follow through with his goal. He is ruthless and deadly like Dio being raised in a similar lifestyle, but he has the strong sense of judgement and kindness which he gets from his other father, Johnathon. Giorno is just such a great character.
Jolyne is a female protagonist done right. You see her flaws and how she changed throughout her journey, she reflected on her actions and adapted to the situations dealt to her, raising above the occasion and growing as a character. I admired Giorno as a person, someone who set out with a goal in mind and is determined to get it done. He could be ruthless but never once lose himself or his sight on his goal.
I think jos4ke and giorno both had really good characters and are criminally underused, like the only reason we don't really see their character grow is because they just aren't given that much screen time in thier own parts, like characters koichi and mista have more development than giorno and josuke, like they could have atleast gotten to appear in another part , that would have helped a lot to enrich thier character
Josuke shines in his part. He reminds me of Onizuka a lot. This gangster bad boy who at the end of the day wants to fix things because of his desire to help others. Also like Onizuka Josuke doesn't have to be always the focus, but when he's on the scene his charisma and wacky energy steels the show.
Josuke is my favorite because of how simple he is. Hell, the entirety of part 4 is simple which isn't a bad thing. I liked how small part 4 was because the whole "saving the whole world" thing kind of gets old in media
Jonathan and Josuke take the top spot for me. Both gentle souls with proper manners, and a sleeve they were all their emotions on. Josuke’s just a quirkier, modern version of Jonathan with a bit of Joseph’s clever side. Fantastic characters. Even without all the depth, they inspire. Jolyne is pretty close though, even as a runner-up.
this is a REALLY and I mean REALLY good list, i'm not going to talk on part 7 or 8 because I haven't seen them. the only thing id say is that Giorno also isn't a prodigy. Gold Experience is actually a lot weaker then Stone Ocean, Buccarati is stronger than Giorno being the one in the group with A power while Giorno has C power. The only thing i'd argue is that Jonothan is more than just Ok and he is actually a really good character. I think Jonothan is also used really well to establish that DIO is the villain and the Jostars are the heroes with no debate, and Jonothan is actually a great character. He is generic to todays standards though, being the same as every character like Tanjiro - the righteous hero, but what he actually does is incredible. He is the ONLY JOJO other than Jotaro (the main JOJO) from part 1-6 to take on the main villain all by themselves and win. Jonothan goes through extremely tough challenges in an amazing first 3 episodes (some of the best in jojo), yet still wins despite being powerless without vampirism, a stand or hamon. Jonothan is the original jojo and a crucial part of the jo star bloodline and their battle against DIO
giorno feels like his intended impact was just cut short. it felt like he was being set up to be a similar presence as to jotaro, popping up in other parts and being a interesting multi part spanning character and then... we just never saw or heard from him again. really sad honestly
In terms of characterization my personal rankings are (best to worst) Johnny Josuke 8 Jolyne Josuke 4 Jonathan Joseph Jotaro Giorno But I still like all of them regardless
The thing about Jolyne I think it's the way her ressolve starts showing, she matures really fast emotionally I think ,despite not having an overpowered stand or being super incredibly smart, she starts taking risks just to pursue her goals
This video made realize a simple pattern and it shows why I love Jonathan and Josuke so much and why Jotaro and Joseph are the most popular JoJos. People in general seem to think that if a character actually cares about doing good/the right thing that means they're one dimensional. On the other hand people seem to relate to characters who don't care about doing the good/right thing and just do it because they have to or to save the people close to them. I genuinely care about doing good/the right thing so I relate to Jonathan and Josuke much more and don't really sympathize with characters like Jotaro (Part 3) and Joseph (Part 2) as much. (Also, Eren seems to fit here as well)
Actually Jotaro is the one who cares about doing good like Jonathan but he is more chaotic. Josuke just want to live his life and do pranks to make money.
With Gappy, he’s a weird person with bizarre origins even by the series standards. He’s the byproduct of a depressed Josefumi and a much nicer version of Yoshikage Kira. He starts off as eccentric but gradually becomes the stoic strategist that all JoJos are. He’s sadly overshadowed by Mamezuku, the Higashikata family, Yasuho, and even Tooru by the end. He’s the spark that ignited the change for the better. Also, his Stand while having a unique power, looks dopey compared to previous main hero Stands, making me wish he underwent an evolution power that also changed the look of the Stand into something uniquely badass.
Damn turns out I wasn't subscribed, I'm sorry my man. So I am kinda late to comments, but Following through your opinions about 1-6 jojos it even makes more sense Johnny is your favorite. He has this clint-eastwoody part in some episodes (every jojo starting from kujo has i guess), the part is set in wild west times setting which adds, and also he, just like Jolyne, isn't op from the start and grows and does it plotwise multiple times better, more satisfying and more apparent than her. As for J8suke, I think a lot of people (me included) feel kinda odd towards him, like, it's hard to make something out of him... He's present in the story but not so much as a character. I think you made a good point of him being more of a force. He's like essence of hope rather than a person i feel. It actually is consistent with what araki said he was planning, you know, the idea of -lion meaning blessed one, that jojo brings miracle due to saint corpse and all the shenanigans in the story, the flows... And after all, Jojolion isn't really a story about a jojo like other parts. _Jojolion is a story about breaking a curse_
what makes giorno my least favourite is how he has such an interesting origin that’s way more complicated than the other jojos being the son of dio and jonathan and yet it wasn’t explored at all, he had the potential to be the most complex joestar. though I do see traits of both jonadio in him it doesn’t matter cause somehow he still feels so boring and flat, aided by the fact that he’s relegated to a side character in his own part, he doesn’t feel like a main character at all lol
a little nitpick is that jotaros motivation was to save him mom in part 3, it wasnt "save the day because justice must prevail, im really cool". he's a 17 year old edgy kid who cares about his mom, he's badass while he's on his adventure to egypt but his motivations are still that of a kid who likes his mom.
Don't think I didn't hear the absolutely wonderful Johnny theme made by Friedrich Habetler Music and Gappy theme by Lucas.mp3... Best fan made themes for their respective characters, as far as I've found.
Joseph will always be my most favourite Jojo. Honestly, when I first read part 6 while I really liked the story idea, I didn't know how I felt about the cast..... Yeah that changed with the anime drop and Jolyne almost beats out Joseph for me at this point. Unfortunately neither stand a chance of being my favourite so long as Dio is about. And Koichi.
The Jostars must somehow inherent their ancestors abilities and skills Joseph just knew how to fly plane he just got hamon and all the JoJo's after him are geniuses
Joseph and Josuke is my favorite, they can be goof balls but also can be badass.. the same with Gyro , he radiates the same energy even though he is not Joestar Protagonist

As a character Jonathan is a 6/10, but as a person he’s a solid 11/10
I like the idea of the first Jojo just being a good person like he is this world superman/Captain America moral why
I mean yeah, of course, he’s basically just goodness incarnate which is ironically why he’s not very interesting. The reason he’s a 6/10 in character is because he’s an 11/10 person
@@ArteMarie56 I don’t get how that makes him a 6/10 character. Johnathan is written perfectly for the type of the character he’s supposed to be

W take
So Giorno is basically just Jonathan is he lived in dios life.
This!!! Totally agree
agreed
this alone actually made DIO respected Jonathan out of all of the joestar bloodline
Basically Jonathan is a fatherfull charecter
Thank you
You just listed the reasons why I don’t like Guts lmao

After finishing part 8 I couldn’t think that Joseph was my favorite anymore I still love him head an easy 2nd but man I freaking love Josuke so much as exited as I am for the likely part7 anime I’d be lying if I wasn’t looking more towards Part 8!
Calling Yoshikage Kira a 'normal guy who just wants to have a simple life' is like calling Hitler 'just a troubled painter'
@Christina Azarian part 6 is a masterpiece. it ended in the most poetic way possible
the thing that i very liked in this part is the power scaling establishment where there's no bs way to defeat the main villain. the tools are already established (discs) from the start, as well as its activation and pre-requisites. unlike some random giorno bullshit happening in 5, or the most pathetic one: a fucking deus ex machina bs in part 4.
and this is also the first time the plot has been serious about anything, so that's why it's a fresh breath of air when i was reading it
@@icybear7792 what do you consider a stupid deus ex machina in part 4, Okuyasu's revival or the death by an ambulance?
@@turokokokoko9714 that's actually rlly sweet I've never seen anyone try and spread high quality projects like that
Jolyne is the worst Joestar. Literally loses her own series even though she was carried harder than any of the other protagonists. Even loses her Jojo name because she was such a letdown to the series.
"Araki played it really safe with him"
Also Araki: *makes an foreigner main chatacter in a time when it was a complete taboo*
Haha try blood sun vendetta
True! It just seems safe by our time period, but back in the '80s Araki was a badass madlad for this decision at the time.
Well it still feels like josuke’s story PART 5 MAKES GIORNO LOOK LIKE A SIDE CHARACTER
I feel like josuke and Giorno were the first two Jojo’s that people didn’t have to rely on all the time
I don’t even think he is that interesting even his relatability isn’t even that interesting to me I find him kinda disappointing
Josuke turned a dude into a rock and another into a book. I think this is worse than death

I hope in Jojolands we see an alt Giorno
I think giorno is just op 15 years old taking down a mafia stand group in weeks and defeat top 10 strongest stand
Jotaro is my favorite simply because of his stoic nature hiding his feelings from his enemies while still caring deeply for his friends and family, showing it by his actions.
If u like jotaro then try blood sun vendetta
Same
His approach to relationships also suffers because of it, expressionless resolve may work in battle but as jotaro proved, its not so good in marriage.
While Giorno’s moments do stand out, it ultimately is Bruno’s group story.
crazy diamond is used far better than gold experience by josuke, since giorno is such a stand noob.

josuk8 is perfectly represented by go beyond.
Didn’t think of that. Great analogy!
Jotaro was my favorite Joestar due to him being the one with the most exposure. After watching the future parts, Giorno and Josuke became my favorite ones.
I like all the Jojo's to be honest
Jonathan does get to much flack. Jonathan tries to do the right thing even after the abuse at the hands of his father and Dio. He still wants the best in life and in people.
@Christina Azarian agreed I can't wait for Johnny. His darkness is very relatable due to his upbringing.
Jotaro is not brutal with his enemys at all. If there is something Jolyne got from Jotaro is her determination to get the job done
What you said is also a fact, i was just pertaining to what he did with Steely Dan. He oftentimes gets brutal with his enemies when they have really pissed him off. I can see that in Jolyne too. Both of their patience and tolerance aren't that exceptional after all. Just that observation is all i meant.
its such a shame because jolyne just seems like a fun girl to be with, unfortunately stone ocean's stand fights were boring and the plot was confusing (most importantly, misogyny) so jojo fans read part 6 as quick as they could to get to part 7 and on
@@stinkybing23423r it's ok to be mentally weak
Johnny Joestar truly an amazing character. He is my favourite character out of everything that is fiction
jolyne is cool. she's my personal favourite character in jojo. man's right. if you say jolyne sucks then you deffinately speed read part 6 and that's as good as if not worse than part skipping
Man you have been doing great on your analysis of these characters couldn’t have said it better
How would you rank the main characters
@@realo3503 thanks
@@animefan77 Ah really? Personally I feel like Gappy is my personal favorite. He's a guy who starts off with no knowledge, in a haze. However, he slowly finds out about his past lives, and finds out the truth about himself, and even though he has no connection to his past lives he still decides to fight for those who came before him. Dreams over memories, all that jazz.

Jolyne and joseph is the best jojo for me from the original universe. idk, both character really carry their own story and not over shadowed by the side character. They are involved in 95% part of their story.
1 - Dio's Bizarre Adventure
2 - Joseph's Bizarre Adventure
3 - Polnareff's Bizarre Adventure

@@08xac68 Hey have u heard of sun blood vendetta? Its a motion comic/ animation created to be a fan part of jojo taking place in mexico. Thank you
@@08xac68this just means that jolyne had no interesting side characters in her series that could carry parts of the story alone. and its also ironic to say this because every other jojo has defeated their villain while EMPORIO beats Pucci even dealing the final blow and everything while Jotaro was a large part of the battle against Pucci.
@Christina Azarian second only to Funny Valentine imo
Joseph is the Florida man of Jojo's but cool as fuck and he's so disadvantaged when it comes to abilities compared to everyone else. Yet he still uses everything to his advantage and leads to the most attention grabbing fights in the whole series. His standout character drives his individual part's story forward in an exciting and entertaining way.
Got married and had children that all survived,
Is one of the richest men in new york and the richest in the Joestar bloodline (Not counting Jorge Joestar I),
Lived the longest and even (Spoilers) outlived every member of the Stardust Crusaders despite being the oldest,
Is one of the smartest JoJos and arguably the most battle smart JoJo of them all,
Has one of the best openings,
*Has a dubstep character theme, and crashed 3 planes, sent an aztec stripper to space and survived a volcano explosion that sent him miles into the sky (madlad)*
With Joseph, he’s very much his own category-
He’s too genuinely strategic to be the hot-blooded hero archetype that relies on instinct and he’s too passionate to be the typical strategic character that tend to be stoic.
I agree with most of your takes, Johnny is def my fav Joestar. Great video btw

Those two would have so much to discuss, like... um... animals! Yeah. Let's ignore the elephant in the room and talk about jellyfish instead.)
It's such a phenomenal setup for a character: take a traumatized teenager with an idealistic dream to prevent any more children from being hurt like he was, a sensitive heart shielded by a shrewd and calculating mind, and a code of ethics that is both loose to the point of hypocrisy and rigid to the point of unenforcability.
Jotaro is the coolest one, but Josuke Higashikata is my favorite
This LITERALLY THIS
@@nuibaba280 but its still not very personal or a good enough reason. Just wanting to stop someone to be good is a pretty lackluster motive, nothing compared to bruno's motivation.
@@ProjektTaku Giorno is a product of diavolo’s environment. ofc dude would want to change it
there's another aspect of part4 to part8 that's makes gappy is my number one joestar. the duality with the main villain. both gappy and tooru, heck even jobin have mommy issues. and yet, araki shows 3 different ways of interpreting it to us reader. that speech gappy says about wanting to save holly while in the middle of pursuing head doctor was an explosion. and also, bro was a nobody who wanted to know about his past so bad he even makes other be in a dangerous situation to became a nobody who's accepted what he have at the end of jojolion is also a good point in my heart
Part 6 was my favorite part while I was reading it. Then, part 7 was my favorite part. I don’t know why people complained about Jobin not being part 8’s main villain. He wasn’t set up to be the main villain, he was clearly just part of the bigger picture.
i feel like it was bandwagoning. idc about Jobin
Also it's funny how people don't care when Jotaro is rude with man.
giorno is a good character, but it went to waste when bruno and mista simply carried most of the times than him😭

Part one jojo has to be my favorite. He is the reason I’m so hooked in the story
I love Jotaro too! I love that he's just around to look cool and punch. His self-assurance is off the fucking charts.
Jolyne's has got to be top 3. She's like the emo Joestar

Giorno is my favorite JOJO, because I just find him to be so cool.

Giorno and Jotaro will always be my top Joestars ever.
Joylene's enemies have some of the most complicated stand abilities that I don't see in previous iterations. Araki used her as a platform to show abilities that when used can take out even the star crusaders. I mean Jail break , Limp Bizkit, Whitesnake, Survivor .....very scary abilities.
God damn animefan77 been hitting the mark on these character analysis
Ah good ol Meta love the vids bro keep it up I could see you growing way bigger! Have a awesome day if you see this too
Jolyne was just held back by her setting imo.
Id u wanna see a cooler jojo in my opinion check out blood sun vendetta
Jolyne is joseph but multiple times more
extremely creative and expressive and uses rope to fight
joseph is a bloody legend tho
All of them are good
Guess I'll just list out my own thoughts
Jonathan: The sort of character who benefits greatly from the reader's imagination.
Couldn't ask for more
Jotaro: I was not a fan of Jotaro at first, but things change. I wasn't too convinced of his sincerity the first time I read Stone Ocean, but further readthroughs helped, hopefully his character can be well conveyed when Netflix releases the last third of Stone Ocean in September 2025
Josuke: As I mentioned earlier, I wasn't too big on Jotaro my first time reading through the series. He simply helps out his own little part of the world, just like that mysterious stranger once helped him
(Will write the rest of this later, I've got other things to do today)
Hoho from blood sun vendetta is the best jono
i like how hes like "yeah jonethan is kinda one note and they just want a whole good vs evil thing but thats the problem... meanwhile jotaro is so amazing i mean sure hes kinda one note and boring but thats what i love about him hes just a good guy that has to save the day"
I think giorno is by far the best to carry the joestar blood which is ironic.
I really appreciate you because you see jolyen is good character unlike some trash people
I love Jolyne’s stand the most, it’s so versatile!
" part 5 is where everyone gets screentime" meanwhile Fugo be like

A NEW METAS VIDEO LETS GOOO
Jonathan and Josuke take the top spot for me. Both gentle souls with proper manners, and a sleeve they were all their emotions on. Josuke’s just a quirkier, modern version of Jonathan with a bit of Joseph’s clever side. Fantastic characters. Even without all the depth, they inspire.
Jolyne is pretty close though, even as a runner-up.
I was waiting for this one!
this is a REALLY and I mean REALLY good list, i'm not going to talk on part 7 or 8 because I haven't seen them. the only thing id say is that Giorno also isn't a prodigy.
Jonothan 8/10
Joseph 8.5/10
Jotaro 9.5/10
Josuke 9/10
Giorno 7.5/10
Jolyne 7.5/10

giorno feels like his intended impact was just cut short. it felt like he was being set up to be a similar presence as to jotaro, popping up in other parts and being a interesting multi part spanning character and then... we just never saw or heard from him again. really sad honestly
Speedwagon is the best protagonist
He's also the best narrator
And the best side character
And the best love interest
And the best villain
Very nice video
In terms of characterization my personal rankings are (best to worst)
Johnny
Josuke 8
Jolyne
Josuke 4
Jonathan
Joseph
Jotaro
Giorno
But I still like all of them regardless
(Also, Eren seems to fit here as well)
Hey have you heard of blood sun vendetta? Just tryna gauge the amount of jojos fans that know about it. If u dont def check it out
Actually Jotaro is the one who cares about doing good like Jonathan but he is more chaotic.
Josuke just want to live his life and do pranks to make money.
Wait part 4 in the snow, that can be explained how after part 7... Araki please,
With Gappy, he’s a weird person with bizarre origins even by the series standards.
Also, his Stand while having a unique power, looks dopey compared to previous main hero Stands, making me wish he underwent an evolution power that also changed the look of the Stand into something uniquely badass.
are you saying I don't look badass?
@@TheNaz_O5-15 mf said S&W looks dopey! WTF!
@@TinglyCauliflower ikr
I wish Josuke stayed a goofy guy, that was the best part about him.
Damn turns out I wasn't subscribed, I'm sorry my man. So I am kinda late to comments, but
Following through your opinions about 1-6 jojos it even makes more sense Johnny is your favorite.
Johnny is my absolute favourite. He was crushed and put back together
His Gappy take summarized : "kind of"
Blood sun vendetta
Joseph is so far my favorite Joestar protagonist with Jotaro coming in at a close 2nd but for the memes, GAPPY ON TOP FOR HAVING FOUR BALLS.
5:28 kira is not crazy? Interesting take
what makes giorno my least favourite is how he has such an interesting origin that’s way more complicated than the other jojos being the son of dio and jonathan and yet it wasn’t explored at all, he had the potential to be the most complex joestar. though I do see traits of both jonadio in him it doesn’t matter cause somehow he still feels so boring and flat, aided by the fact that he’s relegated to a side character in his own part, he doesn’t feel like a main character at all lol
Jotaro was also more expressive in the manga. Not by any insane degree, but the anime definitely amplified that "stone cold badass" persona
a little nitpick is that jotaros motivation was to save him mom in part 3, it wasnt "save the day because justice must prevail, im really cool". he's a 17 year old edgy kid who cares about his mom, he's badass while he's on his adventure to egypt but his motivations are still that of a kid who likes his mom.
And Koichi.
Johnny is my favourite because i like his progression throughout the stories and hes different compare to other joestar
love your vids too much
The Jostars must somehow inherent their ancestors abilities and skills Joseph just knew how to fly plane he just got hamon and all the JoJo's after him are geniuses
Joseph and Josuke is my favorite, they can be goof balls but also can be badass..
the same with Gyro , he radiates the same energy even though he is not Joestar Protagonist
