We are One with God. He sanctified the 7th day and set it apart to be holy and to rest from all work, what a delightful gift to share with Him. I'm not a 7th day advetist, nor anything other than a simple disciple reading God's Word prayerfully daily discovering more of His beauty and kindness daily. Enjoy every day with Him, especially His special holy day of rest on the 7th day, it's a true blessing, why deliberately choose any other day if I am One with Him?
Yes, it is such a gift, not a burden. We are not of any denomination either and just simply love the Lord and His word. I look forward to this sweet day of fellowship with the Lord and others every week. According to the word it is a time of rest and refreshment. It helps us to stop and have enough time to actually draw closer to Him and spend good time in His word, with no other pressures to distract.
Man this is good stuff. Thank you, Solberg! God is so good. The Sabbath is such a beautiful sign and blessing, that points to our ultimate Sabbath rest: Jesus! Sabbath: “permitted, but not required.” -R. L. Solberg Tyler M, Former SDA Pastor
Matthew 5:17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, AND SHALL TEACH MEN SO, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

ECC 12 13 When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: FEAR YAH/GOD and KEEP His COMMANDMENTS, because this is the WHOLE DUTY OF MAN.
If the blessings from God are not re-called then clearly there's still a blessing for those who 'remember' the Sabbath as those hours are blessed! And since we're not 'under law' as our master, then we're not 'required' to 'remember' it for salvation but why miss the blessing? We are not lost for breaking any of the other 10 either but we have become 'Servants of Love'! Paul said "ALL of Torah is fulfilled in a Word, even in this, 'you shall love your neighbor as yourself' "... We call them the 10 Commandments but they called them 'The 10 Words' 🙂 Beautiful...I mean come on: "God IS Love, he that abides in love, abides in God, and God in him"! **AGAPE** rightly understood is everything!!! Since God IS Love, His Law IS Love, God writes His Law of Love on our hearts and minds and bids us to love one another and that is how we honor Him best is to love each other! Since Sabbath is the center piece of the 10 commandments Yahweh wrote, it's the longest most descriptive of all the commandments, Isaiah said we will come together in the 'new earth' every Sabbath... there's gotta be a reason for all that! I may not know how to best 'keep it' and Jesus said that 'the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath'. So it's made for us and as long as I don't get 'religious' about it I think it's pretty cool... it's a weekly reminder of Salvation and Creation as in both we're resting in what God has accomplished! 💯

Well done, Rob. This is probably the clearest, most succinct exposé on the doctrine of the Sabbath available. It’s always a curiosity to me how cognizant dissonance plays such a big role in disallowing folks to accept Biblical Truth.
Great point on the initial sabbath being about trusting YHWH by not working to collect manna for a day, to ingrain the concept of works & faith deeply into the consciousness of Israel. On that holy day, when the time comes to rest in Him, one is deserving of death if one continues to work. Adam & Eve were initially living in His rest daily, enjoying & living off the garden. After they sinned, they had to work the land for food, no doubt missing the good times in the garden. Thus the sabbath law communicates that mankind must work because of sin but a day will come when they must look to the Creator to break that curse, by trusting & resting in His provision. YHWH will bring back the eternal rest of the garden in the end. But it begins with entering His rest by faith in His Son, who fulfilled all the requirements of the Law as a Man. Those who try to fulfill them by their own works after that Day will perish.
So i guess Jesus is lying when He said this. John 8:11 (KJV) She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
To Dr.Solberg or any other serious students of the Word for comment, I have a possible three part question. (Part 1) Is the 7th Day still holy and if not, (part 2) when did it become like any other day of the week thus not holy? (Part 3) Please, give biblical texts for 7th day becoming, lets say, common day (unholy). Please, stay on topic with your answers. This is a 7th day only topic..... Not the Sabbath, not the Commandments or the Law.... Just the 7th day.... Thanks.
I would say that yes, it is still holy(blessed). When you look into blessings you see several examples of something/someone being blessed and it cannot be undone. How many times did Israel rebel against God, but he held back from utterly destroying them because of the blessings and promises He had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and because they were made a holy people to Him. Here are just a couple other examples. “Then Isaac trembled very violently and said, “Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me, and I ate it all before you came, and I have blessed him? Yes, and he shall be blessed.” As soon as Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out with an exceedingly great and bitter cry and said to his father, “Bless me, even me also, O my father!” But he said, “Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.”” Genesis 27:33-35 “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Behold, I received a command to bless: he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.” Numbers 23:19-20 I know of no place in scripture where it’s either prophesied or declared that the 7th day is no longer holy or blessed.
Why did you skip over the first time the Israelites are commanded to rest in a seven day pattern during the Feast of Unleavened Bread which occurs at Passover in Exodus 12? That precludes the manna-Sabbath.
There is no 'seven day pattern' introduced in Exodus 12. A pattern is something that repeats. Rather, Exodus 12:16 tells the Israelites to 'do no work' on the first and seventh day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread simply because that feast lasts seven days. [A weekly Sabbath does not occur on the first and seventh days, only the seventh day.] Also, this is irrespective of what day of the week they fall. To this day, the weekly Sabbath is distinct from a festival Sabbath. Of the seven Biblical festivals, only the Feast of Firstfruits is NOT treated as a Sabbath. The other six are treated as a Sabbath day, or include a special Sabbath day, regardless of their length in days. This specific video by Dr. Solberg is dealing with the weekly Sabbath only, not festival Sabbaths.
I am grateful for the time spent in this comprehensive study on the Sabbath, which offers valuable insights and a thoughtful exploration of the Bible. The attention to textual detail in context in these studies, fosters reflection and understanding. My sincere thanks for the time taken to create this excellent content.

Very true: (Col 2:16-17 NKJV) (16) So let no one judge you in food or in drink , or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths , (17) which are a shadow of things to come , but the substance is of Christ . ❤ Awesome video, as an SDA who rests on the 7th Day of the week, I agree with almost, if not 100% of what you said. The faith delivered to the saints didnt include the Sabbath command to New Testament believers. Great reminders in the promised blessing through Abraham. I think the blessing was specifically speaking about Yeshua. Yet you are right as well when you say that the principles of Sabbath was to be a blessing to the world through Israel's example: 1. Trust in God's provision, and His Salvation. 2. Obedience. 3. Relationship. 4. Physical Rest. 5. Identity. May I add, 6. Joyful Fellowship with brethren. 7. Freedom from opression in the form of slavery, sin, and sickness.

As a former SDA of 20+ years, I’d suggest a study on Galatians. SDA has a false proof text method of hermeneutics and this is why you won’t likely hear a sermon or a sabbath school class taught from Galatians. Those who keep the law to be righteous (right doing) have fallen from God’s grace, are even cursed. There is only ONE gospel not two three or numerous versions and Advebtism admits that it doesn’t teach Paul’s gospel. EGW received her SoP from her accompanying Angel and there are bizarre similarities in doctrine with Jehovahs Witness and LDS, all of which arrived during the 2nd Great Awakening period and all received their exclusive beliefs from an Angel. Galatians 1 addresses this. You either believe the word of God is God’s word, the living word, or you believe it contains God’s word subject to one’s interpretations and cultural norms. Adventism claims to have a restorative end time msg for a “last day” generation. So does the above denominations as well as the Church of Christ and many others but scripture teaches us that we have been given, by Jesus, all that we need to be saved. In Adventism, she teaches that you cannot be assured of your salvation yet scripture says that in the day one hears abd believes the Gospel, you receive the Holy Spirit as a “guarantee” of your salvation. SDA teach that sabbath is the seal of God but scripture clearly tells us that the Holy Spirit is the seal, not a day, but what takes place in your mind when one accepts the Gospel. 1 Timothy 1 also warns about following and listening to “wanna be” teachers of the law who arrogantly and confidently speak but do not know what they are talking about. The msg of Adventism is condemnation unless you are obedient to the law yet the Bible tells us no one can keep the law but Jesus and it is that obedience to the law that he imputes to us by faith not by works and the faith is about love not self.
@@Eric-fq5wx I hear you, Eric. I would say that, because the 4th commandment is modeled after and linked to the rhythm of creation does not indicate that the weekly Sabbath command was given in Genesis 2. In fact, it wasn't. Gen. 2:1-3 contains no commands for anyone. Rather, as I see it, the Sabbath was to serve as a weekly reminder of the fact that God created everything. Blessings, RLS

On this general topic I find I have to remind folks of the origins of the "weekend". This especially popped up in Seventh Day Adventist discussions. The weekend is not just a modern invention, it comes from the ancient Liturgical tradition of Christianity where they continued to observe the Sabbath in a moderate way. The Sabbath was created by God and even if we do not try to follow the Mosaic law, there still is a positive principle of resting from one's labor. I also like to remind people of the origins of the term Holiness, things set aside for the worship of God like the Tabernacle utensils and us bother metaphorically and literally. There is a principle from the Torah where you should not waste things if they can benefit something. The best example of that was the Holy Water used to clean the utensils was not to just be poured out anywhere but sprinkled over the people of God, and if no one was around to do that they should pour it out over a plant at the very least. That kind of thinking was present in the Early Christians coming from Judaism, they were not bound to the Sabbath but nevertheless retained it because of it over all significance. Besides that I would also point to the Sacramental custom of paying Liturgical reverence for Holy items as an indirect way of paying God respect as well. Even in our present day culture with nonsacramental Christians like Baptists etc. we can still see that kind of sentiment ingrained when it comes to things like the Bible, which is usually treated differentially, people would even swear on it in court etc. Anyway even though Sabbath was held in respect. Why we like to stop working on Friday and actually begin some kinds of religious services starting on the Jewish Sabbath (If you were to look at the worship Calendar of a large Catholic or Orthodox church), Sunday, the day of the Resurrection has been the main day of the week for Christian worship, both because of what Christ did for us on that day, but also because of it's link to the Eucharist as far as memorials go.
@@vernmiroth1626 Thanks. It looks like am remembering something from the Apostolic Constitutions I can usually find a good Old Testament liturgical origin for everything. Thanks!
@@PavelMosko The truth is there's no such principal. Things that were once dedicated to pagan gods were to be destroyed and never to be reused again. Syncretism is rampant in modern Christianity
I prefer Hebrews 4 our sabbath rest, it doesn’t say sabbath day rest, is rest for our soul and be sure not to miss it. It is received by faith. There was a generation of Israel that were not permitted to enter into “His rest”. Hm, whose rest is it? Ours or His? Is Jesus Lord of the Sabbath also? That generation had the “disobedience of unbelief” yet in the wilderness, did they not keep the 7th day sabbath?
@@williamdecamp7343 no, they didn't keep it ! Over and over, the Sabbath is a major area of their rebellion...a very simple command which has both a physical and spiritual component, they neglected the spiritual, Christianity neglects the physical,,,both are incomplete
I’m glad you are bringing this to mind. The Hebrew word Shabath to cease not Shabbat sabbath is what Gen 2 is saying, honoring creation and not a day and the Lord’s work was good and “eternal”. No evening and morning on the seventh day of creation as there was an evening and morning on the previous six days. The Sabbath was also on a lunar calendar and not what we use today. There is far too much emphasis on a day just there thus far too much emphasis on individual works of obedience when both creation and salvation are not our works but the Lord’ work. No one can save themselves and no Gentile ever received the law Acts 15. Gen 16 tells us why the Lord gave Israel the Sabbath and the commandment also repeats what Gen 16 tells us about the sabbath. Context always matters.
Thank you for this Permitted but not required Jesus is our rest. He repeats all the moral law in the NT, but never repeats the sabbath. All days are worship days….. but we gather on the Lords day.
To imagine that faith is a condition to salvation, which is an assumption in this video AND also in many OSAS teaching, is a basic misunderstanding of what GRACE is. The NT Theologian John Barclay has explained the "shape" of Grace in Paul's writings. Which grace isn't UNCONDITIONAL but it is UNCONDITIONED...So without any conditions.. that includes fath. In the Gospels this can be illustrated in the healing of Jesus..in the beginning Jesus heals with his touch or a word then later a woman draws her own healing by believing that touching his hem would heal her. Then Jesus encouraged people's faith to be healed. So faith is unnecessary for the healing but it's something Jesus is encouraging. Faith isn't a condition but important. So if we aren't saved up on the condition of faith, we cannot lose salvation because we stop believing. Salvation is participating with Christ in his death and resurrection. God is faithful. John 3:16 is often seen as a promise but it's not. It says "those who are believing in Christ" are given eternal life because God gave his only Son. The eternal life is a result of Jesus being given . He is the gift/ the grace. Yes, John 3:16 the "believe in him" is a present verb participle BUT a participle doesn't express continuous action, like a present verb does, but acts as an adjective or as a noun!!! Get the grammar correct. Many were "believers in Christ" before his being given in the cross, so Jesus death and resurrection was so those who believed were given eternal life. It's John's commentary on Jesus words to Nicodemus in 3:14-15. It only takes one act of faith to be considered a "believer"(noun) It's quite possible those who later reject faith are still saved because God is faithful and they were participated in Christ in baptism even though "sin reigns in their mortal bodies"(Romans 6:12) but it still true according to Romans 6:5 " Since we were united in his death, we will also be raised to life" Romans 6:5. The scriptures are very clear on the certainty of resurrection..what you do with warming passages is another matter. But it comes more down to the idea of salvation. If salvation is healing then it's true some believers and some who lose faith don't experience all the healing they could have...or lose eternal rewards.. but the resurrection of their bodies is certain. It's not too difficult and idea. Every Christian needs to know their resurrection is certain and cannot be lost. SO it affects how they live now as in building for for a certain future not working the other way from it. Assurance doesn't led to living in sin (Romans 6:1) if you know it's your certain destiny. I hope this helps correct many misunderstandings. John Barclay in his "Power of Grace" says implicitly what I've said Explicitly. Grace is Unconditioned
Colossians says it all folks. If you want to keep a Sabbath or a holy day then do it if you don't want to then don't do it you're not any more righteous or less righteous for not or doing it.

The New Covenant vs. the Mosaic Covenant. There is no tripartite division of the Mosaic Covenant. That idea is from Calvin, Aquinas, and the 1689 Confessions, i.e., man-made doctrines. Sabbath rest is resting in Christ, not observing the Decalogue. 1) The Decalogue is the Mosaic Covenant written in stone Deuteronomy 4:13 " So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten [c]Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone. " Exodus 34:28 "So he was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments." 2) The Decalogue was the ministry of death 2 Corinthians 3:7 "But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones..." 3) The Mosaic Covenant, Decalogue, has been replaced Hebrews 8 "When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is about to disappear." 4) Jesus is the new Lawgiver Hebrews 7:12 "For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also." 5) The Law of Christ (summarized as loving God and loving neighbor) Jeremiah 31:34 "“I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people." Romans 8 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Galatians 6:2 "Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ." 6) The Law of Christ is possible because of the Holy Spirit Romans 8:2 " For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death." Research New Covenant Theology. The man-made systems of Dispensation and Covenant Theology are not Biblical theology; instead, they are derived from systematic theology.
The Decalogue is NOT the Mosaic Covenant written in stone. Rendering everything you said as trash. The Mosaic Covenant was a conditional covenant given to Moses by Angels, which Israel Broke. The Decalogue was written by the finger of God. It is the Moral law written on the hearts of man.corrupted by the sin of Adam. one was place into the Ark and the other was outside
A Case for Sabbath Keeping. Time in video 6:30 you said “Much later, God would give the Israelites, at Mt. Sinai, the command about the weekly Sabbath” This is absolutely false, and misleading. Sabbath was given before Mt. Sinai, and it was given to Israelites and the mixed multitude. Exodus 16: 23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. 26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none. 27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. You see how in verse 30 it says “rested on the seventh day” it doesn’t say rested on the Sabbath, but that’s what the Sabbath is, the seventh day. Your argument that it wasn’t instituted at creation is semantics. Semantics Semantics is the study of linguistic meaning. It examines what meaning is, how words get their meaning, and how the meaning of a complex expression depends on its parts. Part of this process involves the distinction between sense and reference. Sense is given by the ideas and concepts associated with an expression while reference is the object to which an expression points. The seventh day of creation is literally how the word Sabbath got its’ meaning, God rested. Wait what, you need more proof, ok: Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. God did not begin to be God at Mt. Sinai, and he did not stop being God at the cross. 2Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Did God walk differently before Sinai, was righteousness different before Sinai, were God’s voice, charge, commandments, statutes, and laws different before Sinai? Were Enoch and Noah Israelites, was Abraham the first Jew? 7:25 “Mentioned out of the blue, without any explanation” When your presumption demands that Gods’ word lacks good story telling, or is inferior/unintelligible should alert you to error. This is error. Let’s look at Moses and Aarons first encounter with Pharoh: Exodus 5:4And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens. 5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens. You have to be willfully/intentionally ignorant to think, well maybe it was Tuesday, it doesn’t say, God’s kept his Sabbath secret all this time. The bible says: Exodus 6:2 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. 4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. Ok so God appeared to them, but we’re to believe he did not share with them, arguably his most important command, or even everything they need to know, to not be kicked out of the land? The land Covenant was not unconditional, as we know the House of Juda was kicked out of the land specifically for not keeping the land Sabbath, 70 years for every Sabbath not kept. Deuteronomy 30: 16In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. 17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; 18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. Compare Deut. 16 with Gen. 26 and we can easily produce logically that Abraham in fact did keep Gods’ seventh day Sabbath. 8:00 “The only thing they’re told to rest from is gathering Manna” I’ve already established beyond a reasonable doubt that Moses reintroduced seventh day Sabbath Keeping in Egypt prior to the Exodus. God is simply instructing that Manna gathering is included in Sabbath keeping. Their only source of food, God provided double on the sixth. Manna was a new thing God had done (the word Manna means, what is it?) Perfectly reasonable for God to instruct about a new thing (their only source of food) that too is included in Sabbath prohibitions. God didn’t say not to fly airplanes either. 13:12 Exodus 16:28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? Ok so it clearly says “commandments and my laws” commandments and laws, that’s two things, and both are plural… but but but you said there was only one thing and it was only specifically about gathering manna??? Again your presumption makes the bible unintelligible. Error. 13:50 “In all of scripture the seventh day rest was never commanded of any other people” really? Isaiah 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. The commandment starts out with the first word remember, side note if you are commanded to always “remember” something… how can it ever possibly change? You said “set apart for God” not sure Jesus agrees with you there. Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Yet you want us to believe God made this great blessing for us at creation, but withheld it from us for 2,500 years. Error. Again you said “In all of scripture the seventh day rest was never commanded of any other people” and we can all clearly see right in the commandment “stranger” is included. I’m actually struggling here trying to separate all your false statements. At least false in regards to contrary to the Word of God. Peace

1. Genesis is the starting point. God gives the physical to teach the spiritual. He is a God of patterns and continuity. Genesis matches the pattern of the rest of the Torah and Prophets. God is not random. God's story revolves around the 7 days of creation and rest. Rest/Sabbath is also ingrained in the appointed times, why? An act of obedience, a sign and unification of the body. Sabbath is not about manna nor temporary. Exodus 20:9-11 [9] Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, [10] but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. [11] For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 31:16 [16] Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever. 2. The commandments including Sabbath were given to all those who would follow God, not just the native born. Remember there were mixed multitudes that left Exodus with them. Even before that Abraham's household was circumcised as well. They were grafted into Israel just like Ruth. Exodus 12:49 - ONE law shall be for the native-born and for the STRANGER who dwells among you. Lev 24:22 - You shall have the SAME law for the STRANGER and for one from your own country, for I am the Lord your God. Numbers 15:15, 16, 29 - ONE ordinance shall be for you the assembly and for the STRANGER who dwells with you, an ordinance forever throughout your generations; as you are, SO SHALL THE STRANGER BE BEFORE THE LORD. ONE law and ONE custom shall be for you and for the STRANGER who dwells with you. Lev 18:26 - You shall therefore keep My statutes and My judgments and shall not commit any of these abominations, either any of your own nation or any STRANGER who dwells among you. Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law, Deuteronomy 31:12 "Blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who lays hold on it; Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.” DO NOT let the son of the FOREIGNER Who has joined himself to the Lord Speak, saying, “The Lord has utterly separated me from His people”; Nor let the eunuch say, “Here I am, a dry tree.” For thus says the Lord: “To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And HOLD FAST MY COVENANT, Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name BETTER than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off. “Also the sons of the FOREIGNER Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants- EVERYONE who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And HOLDS fast MY COVENANT - Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” Isaiah 56:2-7 3. The whole context behind Sabbath is to rest from work. Collecting wood was work for them. Not going out meant not going to collect manna, not about traveling. It's not a burden. The purpose is to enjoy fellowship with God, his creation, our families. Offerings were about fellowship... breaking bread together. Making food and eating it isn't work. 4. Where did Jesus say you don't need to keep God's commandments anymore (including Sabbath)? Not Paul, Jesus? Paul is not the authority. He has to align himself with God the Father and Jesus. Jesus has to align himself with God. Paul can't add or take away from God's Word. If he did he would be considered a false teacher. Same with Jesus, he didn't add or take away from the commandments. If he had done so he wouldn't qualify as the true messiah. The Torah aka God's commandments are the anchor for truth. Jesus is the Torah.
Hi, DK! My opinion on Romans 14 is that Paul is addressing the tension between two groups in the Christian community in Rome-the *strong,* who are able to regard all food and drink as ritually clean with a clear conscience, and the *weak,* who are unable to give up their commitment to the dietary laws and observance of the Sabbath. Paul urges the Roman Christians to withhold judgment of their fellow believers (Rom 14:1-12) and to avoid behaving in a manner that causes others to stumble in their faith (vv. 13-23). Shalom, RLS
I suspect you’re SDA and like many out of context verses and even chapters, they are taught in such a way as to support their false theology. In Roman’s 14, Paul clearly tells us that the Kingdom of God IS NOT a matter of eating and drinking but LOVE JOY and PEACE in the Holy Spirit. You will find this concept of faith being taught throughout all of Paul’s Epistles. For example, the faith is of good conscience and love 1 Timothy 1

As it is of the law of nature that, in general, a due proportion of time be set apart for the worship of God; so, in his Word, by a positive, moral, and perpetual commandment, binding all men in all ages, he hath particularly appointed one day in seven for a Sabbath, to be kept holy unto him:a which, from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, was the last day of the week; and, from the resurrection of Christ, was changed into the first day of the week,b which in Scripture is called the Lord’s day,c and is to be continued to the end of the world, as the Christian Sabbath.d a. I have two thoughts to add or share. The first is that the language surrounding creation is the same as creating a temple. And the language of rest is similar to the language describing an idol being placed in the temple to reside. So the earth is the temple of god and he comes to dwell with humanity in it. (The language surrounding the creation of humanity is also similar to the language and practices used to create idols so humanity) second: when we read the death of Polycarp one detail that is included is that the Jews in his town were he would be burned alive broke sabbath to collect wood for the Romans to burn him on. It is also implied that this was a common thing that happened.
Thanks, Gloria! That's an interesting perceptive. Michael Heiser says, ""The creation narratives in the Bible are not so much about material origins as they are about God bringing order to chaos, establishing function and purpose, and inaugurating sacred space-the cosmos as God’s temple." Good stuff! RLS
@@TheBiblicalRoots I have not yet read Dr. Heiser’s work but I have heard stellar things about it. Dr. Sandra Richter has talked a lot about the temple language in genesis 1 and 2. If you haven’t yet read her book Epic of Eden I highly recommend it.
I think the big problem is we need to understand what the bible says SIN is. once we understand this then there can be no doubt that the Sabbath must be kept.
In loving kindness, I do rest on the seventh day to the best I know how based on the little light I have, if any. You said to keep you honest. Based on your understanding of a relationship to the Hebrew word we know as “seven” and a root relating to the concept we will be discussing “rest”. Perhaps it is a bit presumptuous to say that “we” don’t see the word Sabbath anywhere in the (English) verse (Gen2:2) in the Genesis intro because I do see H7673 in both Gen2:2 and Gen2:3 exactly where can too. Sabbath in root is in these verses at least twice, perhaps five, times whether you like the particular English translation you presented or not. Is there any reason to not be more forthright and strong in your stance about this particular detail? Along the same rationale at about 9:10 min mark you also make mention that Sabbath (presuming English) is not mentioned until Exe:16, however H7673 Hebrew “Sabbath” as English translated word “rest” is clearly attributed in Exe:5:5 when Pharaoh accused Moses “ye make them rest from their burdens.” You see, Pharaoh knew exactly what his sin(s) were against the people even before the plagues. Meaning Pharaoh's sin was (at least) NOT letting the enslaved Hebrews “Sabbath”, “Seventh”, “Rest”, and he knew this even before Exe:16. I hope you and your readers may still find it ok to rest, worship, and even go to church on the seventh day if your heart is into it. Let me know if you think differently based on the bible and the Holy Spirit. Blessings.
No where in Gen 2:2-3 is the Hebrew word Shabbat but Shabath to cease. The word Shabath also means to rest and there are seven Hebrew “root” words for rest. In Hebrews 4, it says therefore there remains a sabbath rest for the children of God. What it doesn’t say, even in the Greek, that there remains a sabbath “day” rest. Continue to read the chapter and it tells us we must be careful not miss this rest. Today when one hears and believes the gospel you enter into this rest, rest for your SOUL not your physical body. Even Exodus 16 was not about rest for the physical body but because Israel murmured against the Lord desiring to be back in slavery in Egypt. Even the Commandments to Remember is going to Exodus 16 and their disobedience. Hebrews 3 tells you that a generation of Israel was not permitted to enter into “his rest” and his rest wasn’t a day but the promised land, eternal life. Entered by faith. They were not permitted to enter into His rest because the had the disobedience of unbelief. Far too many people are looking for a way of “I must do” when salvation is not about what you are to do but what Christ has already done for us. Just what is Christ imputing to us, covering us with? His robe of righteousness (right doing the law) something scripture says we cannot do, are not capable of doing. Roman’s 3
9/10 commandments are not repeated in the so-called NT! That is an awesome repeatedly but it is still alive. There are eight specific covenants in the Bible: Edenic, Adamic, Noahic, Abrahamic, Mosaic, Land, Davidic, New. The first 3 applied to all humans, the last 5 applied specifically to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, although others can be grafted in, so all humanity can benefit. Some covenants were broken, others are still in effect. The rainbow was a sign of the Noahic Covenant, which is still in effect. It is an UNconditional promise of God, and can't be broken. However, the Edenic and Mosaic covenants were conditional, and were broken, but not by God. I think Dr. Solberg is referring to the Law of Moses conveniently as 'old covenant', not the entire Old Testament.

In that first sunset, we can imagine how all creatures, including the first pair, were led by angels in an occasion of worship and adoration of the Author of this wonderful creation. God himself set aside this day, in which he completed the project of a new world. "On the seventh day, God finished His work that He had done and on the seventh day He rested from all His work that He had done. God blessed the seventh day and holy, because on this day He rested from all His work which He had built and made" (Genesis 2:2-3). This blessed and hallowed day was to be perpetuated as a memorial of creation and family, which was to be transformed into a day of celebration.

Hi, Vern! I'm only relaying what the Bible says. God only called the Israelites into the blessing of His covenant at Sinai (Exod. 19:3-6). He didn't call the Egyptians. He didn't call the Hittites, Assyrians, or Edomites into a covenant with Him. He didn't provide the Romans with manna, He didn't rescue the Midianites out of slavery, nor promise the Canaanites a land, nor Amalek that He would make a nation out of him. @TheBiblicalRoots rather can you show an explicit passage that has God excluding an individual based on their race? No, the idea of being grafted in is not new. It was never about race with God . The 1000 year Millennium reign of Jesus Christ on Earth in the book of Revelation is an acknowledgment of the Sabbath, but it doesn’t mean that we should continue to keep the Sabbath, in fact observing the Sabbath, it falls in with doing the animal Blood sacrifices for our sins, which is now a abomination. The Church will be living the Sabbath with Jesus Christ for a 1000 years.
There is no Millennium Reign on Earth unless you are Satan. Satan will be the only being left on this bottomless pit for a thousand years while the saved will have been caught up in the air to be with the Lord at his second coming and stay there for 1000 years in his temple which is in heaven and after that time the kingdom of Heaven will descend from the clouds like a bride adorned for her husband. Hello, Highlander. You seem to be using neither the biblical definition of the word _Jew,_ nor the English definition. The dictionary defines it as “a member of the people and cultural community whose traditional religion is Judaism and who come from the ancient Hebrew people of Israel.” And in Scripture, the word _Jew_ (In Hebrew: יְהוּדִי y’hudi, In Greek: Ἰουδαῖος _loudaious_ ) has the same meaning. Claim: "The Sabbath was made for Jews." Answer: It is called "the sabbath of the Lord," but never "the sabbath of the Jews" (Exodus 20:10). (Biblical Fact #1) What did Jesus say? That the sabbath was made for Jews? No! Jesus said: "The sabbath was made for man" (Mark 2:27), for all men. The Greek word translated here as "man" is "anthropos" meaning "people, whether male or female". (Biblical Fact #2) The fact is that Adam was the only man in existence at the time God made the Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3). There were no Jews in the world for at least 2,300 years after creation. It could never have been made for them. (Biblical Fact #3) And the fact that God specifically gave his Sabbath day to the stranger, as well as to the Jews, is proof that the Sabbath was not given exclusively for Jews, but for whoever else wishes to serve the Lord (Isaiah 56:1-8, Exodus 20:10). (Biblical Fact #4) These Biblical facts debunk the message listed in the video description that suggest that the Sabbath was for Israel/Jews only. The Bible speaks for itself. These facts must be debunked (from the Bible) if one is to believe that the Sabbath was only for the Jews.
Founders Ministries Spurgeon and the Sabbath: A Theological Conviction Spurgeon argued, “And yet the Sabbath had not been instituted according to the law, which proves that its foundation lay deeper and earlier than the promulgation of the Ten Commandments; it is bound up with the essential arrangement of time since creation.”[1] Thus, he believed the Sabbath to be for all people, and it was not abolished with the Old Covenant. Jesus' example did not abolish the Sabbath, but it gave Christians an accurate portrayal of Sabbath observance. Second, he believed the observance of the Sabbath changed from the seventh day of the week to the first day due to the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Choose... Follow Spurgeon or follow the Word of God! Why would Paul say the following: (Col 2:16-17 NKJV) (16) So let no one judge you in food or in drink , or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths , (17) which are a shadow of things to come , but the substance is of Christ . Which is real, the shadow or the body casting the shadow? God always uses earthly examples (for a earthly people) to point to greater spiritual truths. If we add anything to Christ, we declare Him insufficient and are pushing our own righteousness to the front for either people of God to notice! God will have none of that!

This would be just the beginning. From now on, at the end of each week, there was to be a commemoration of these holidays, namely the Sabbath, a reminder of creation and family unity. At sunset, every seventh day, Eden entered into the feast. Perhaps then the Creator Himself and the angels stood with the new members of the family of the vast universe. Perhaps this was the visiting time of the Creator. "Then they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day" records Genesis 3:8. Surely fatigue and the need for sleep did not exist in paradise, because man was created perfectly, in the likeness of the Creator. Perhaps this was the reason why God did not create a fixed home for them. Their home was the entire garden of Eden.
Interestingly many Americans seem to observe Sabbath seven days per week, 365, all life long. And they have a Party to protect that custom. And everybody else must, by law, collect manna for them.
Its there in Genesis God blessed the seventh day and made it Holy - its His Holy day. Jesus said about marriage what God has put together let no man undo/ abolish/ dismantle. About what belongs to God, give unto Caesar what belongs t Caesar and give to God what belongs to Him. Man cannot live on bread alone but by every word of God. Small correction about the ten commandments it was given 4 times ( twice written by the hand of God in tablets of stone) twice verbally. The 4th explained in detail and in different ways. @@TheBiblicalRoots There are many in these comments who have done so. The roman catholic church changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday as a mark of their authority. They admit this in writing. The RCC specifically admits that if you look at the whole of scripture there is not ONE notion that the Sabbath was or can be changed. The RCC did it with NO authority from scripture. I see no where in Scripture that we simple humans have the authority to alter a commandment from Yahua. Also, I know it is common belief, but Messiah did NOT rise from the dead on the 1st day of the week. The true biblical start of the day is SUNRISE. The idea of sunset was falsely given by the Pagan Pharisees that set themselves up a Priest in the Jewish temple prior to Christ. They also set up the false Lunar based calendar. And the RCC changed the start of the day to midnight. Biblical day starts at Sunrise, so when the women came to the tomb on the morning (which in the Old testament is the time from dark till sunrise, not what it means today) of the 1st day of the week, the tomb was already empty. Which means Christ rose while it was yet still the Sabbath. The 1st day of the week had not come yet, because it was not yet sunrise. I can prove this out, or you can check out the UA-cam channel "The God Culture", they have videos on "when the Bible day begins". You can try to prove them wrong. Many Blessings!! Take care!
@@Prove_ALL_Things Hi, Pat! Check out this timeline of events that happened on the first day of the week: Luke 24 says "On the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb" (v. 1) and that's when they found it empty. And they remembered that Jesus said, "the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and *on the third* day rise" (v. 6). And then, *"that very day* two of them were going to a village named Emmaus" (v. 13) and Jesus appeared and asked what they were talking about. They told Him about the crucifixion and said, "it is now *the third day* since these things happened" (v. 21). So *Sunday was the third day.* And if Jesus was actually raised on the Sabbath (which the Bible does nowhere teaches) then His tomb wasn't discovered empty until the _fourth_ day. And Jesus said nothing of a fourth day. Given the staggering importance of the Resurrection, and the fact that all the NT texts related to it refer to the discovery of the empty tomb “after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week” (Matt. 28:1), “When the Sabbath was over...very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise” (Mark 16:2-3), “On the first day of the week, very early in the morning” (Luke 24:1), “Early on the first day of the week” (John 20:1), I believe the best conclusion is that the authors wanted us to associate that day/time with the resurrection of Jesus. It was the dawning of a new day and a new era! From the earliest days of Christianity that is what was understood (see early extra-biblical writings such as The Didache, Gospel of Peter, etc.) If it was important for us to know that Jesus was actually resurrected on the Sabbath surely at least one of the NT authors would've mentioned it! Shalom! Rob
@@TheBiblicalRoots I am not Pat, sorry. And you are only regurgitating to me what I know everyone teaches, which I have already stated that I believe that teaching is categorically false and why. The Jewish Religion and the Catholic Religion were hijacked by those who worship Satan and the pagan SUN Gods, plain and simple and quite obvious when one truly looks with no scales on their eyes. And They have spent a lot of time making sure false hoods are taught and believed. Furthermore that was the whole reason for the creation of the Jesuit order, to destroy the Reformation and to spread the RCC's twisted scripture. To control the education system, not only the public one, but the Religious Education system too. The Jesuits control the world, they and their leader the Pope will help bring about the new world order and the one world religion (this process has already started). The Jesuits are the top dog of the Freemasons and all the other secret societies. If one does not understand this and their agenda, then one could easily fall for all their delusions, one of which is that Christ rose on Sunday. But that is not the only one for sure. As for the verse that was stated by the men on the road to Damascus. If you look at the Greek work for "Since" it usually more so refers to something that is in the past. So most likely the sentiment is that "the 3rd day has since past". Not that it is the actual 3rd day. It is NOT possible that Christ died on Friday, that is not enough 3 days and 3 nights. A Friday death would be only 2 nights, and at best 2 days, and that is only if you do some fuzzy math or fuzzy false Jewish religion calendar math. And every single ONE of the NT authors did say he rose on Saturday. But, false teaching and false calendars have clouded how the scriptures are read and taught. If everyone actually knew the truth that the Biblical Day started at Sunrise, including those that translated the bible, everyone would have understood that Christ rose on Saturday. The apostles knew when the Biblical day started. So did John the Baptist, he was a Levite Priest who had all the Old Testament scrolls and kept the true Biblical Calendar. Also, Christ died on Wednesday. Passover was Tuesday. Christ ate Passover, then was arrested and then died during the day the next day. Wednesday night is night 1, Thursday day is day 1, Thursday night is night 2, Friday Day is day 2, Friday night is night 3, Saturday day is day 3. Once sunset hit on the 3rd day, then he would have risen anytime after sunset and it still would have been on the 3rd day because it was still Saturday, and it would have remained Saturday until sunrise the next morning, and by sunrise the tomb was empty, then in so facto, Christ rose on Saturday. Keep in mind that the translations of the Bible were done by MEN who believed a LOT of false doctrine and inserted their biases in the translations. Some more so than other translations, but all of them have issues. AS well, I have seen evidence that some of the tampering done to the Bible was absolutely DELIBERATE so that false teachings could be backed up via scripture. Just like the verse regarding the comment made by the men on the road to Damascus. Though I highly agree with them, if you really want to refute what I am saying you need to completely dismantle EVERYTHING that "the God Culture" folks are teaching. The RCC LIED (about a LOT of things), the RCC is a false church and Martin Luther should have wiped all of their doctrines off the face of the earth and started from scratch, but he did not, he continued to try to build on a false foundation, with some changes thrown in. Even Martin Luther believed that the true Sabbath was Saturday, but he sooooo much did not want to look like a Jew that he dug his heels in. When the Lutheran Church teaches Scripture only, they mean their version or interpretation of Scripture only. AND I have every right to question them, because I have been part of that Church for 27 years. Not only that my father in law is a retired Lutheran Pastor. I have at my finger tips a huge library of Luther's writings. As far as I can tell even the Lutheran church has twisted even some of Luther's real teachings, which are different than what our church currently teaches. If one does not understand that the Tarres have grown up among the Wheat and have polluted it and provided false doctrines and twisted translations and twisted scriptures and hidden scriptures that provide more truth than the enemy wants us to know, then one can get lost very easily. Many Blessings to you!! Thank you for your time in responding to me. Yah Bless!
@@TheBiblicalRoots Response take 2. I responded to this a some days ago, and I see it disappeared. To bad too, because it was a better response than this one. 1st of all I am not Pat, sorry. To start with you must understand that the true Christian faith and even the true "Jewish" faith was hijacked a long time ago. The Jewish religion prior to Christ. Pagan men came in and took over the Temple and set themselves up as the Pharisees and Sadducees. The pit of vipers Christ called them. These Pharisees came up with all kinds of laws, that they called the oral Law, and a false pagan moon calendar (ie: changed the start of the biblical day to sunset), started to hide scripture from the people, and finally kicked out the true Levite Priests that fled to the wilderness (aka the people of John the Baptist). Likewise the Roman Catholic Church hijacked the true Christian faith from the disciples and the early church fathers. They also changed the calendar, twisted the commandments, changed the understanding of the New Testament, actually forbid people from keeping the Passover feast, changed the Sabbath day, actually even made the Bible illegal to read at one point, caused the death of countless people for disagreeing with them (made up who was considered a heretic, and then put themselves as judges)), and on and on and on. You get the point, I hope. The inner Circle of the catholic church worships Satan, not God. They do not and have never held the truth, or rather I should say they have not taught the truth, they may actually know it. When Martin Luther stood up against them for the indulgences he started a good thing, but he did NOT do what he should have done, which was to wipe ALL the RCC's doctrines of the face of the earth and start from scratch. He did not do that and tried to fix a faulty foundation. When the Lutheran Church says scripture only, they mean the Only scripture based off of their false teaching of it. I know because I have been a Lutheran for over 27 years. Now back to the Sabbath. A few things. 1. The writers of the gospels certainly did know when the biblical day starts, and when you read the text from a different perspective and with what the words actually meant back during that time, as my 1st post mentioned, you can tell that they did. 2. And if you look at the greek word for your verse "21" it is highly possible that what the men really said is that the 3rd day has past already. 3. please understand if you are using a NIV Bible it is a highly corrupted text and has removed and rewritten many of the passages. Which is why so many reading it don't really know the truth. Though the KJV is not perfect, so far it seems to be the best. 4. When it says early on the first day of the week, or early at dawn, it really means the MORNING of the day. The word morning during that time in history was the time BEFORE the new day started at SUNRISE. This is most easily seen in the KJV. Look I could type on and on. Just watch this videos and see if you can argue with the speakers. ua-cam.com/play/PLru2qbCMGOi4gBY-eR6TEI5ugbM-yh1Vv.html And while these biblical scholars may not be perfect. I can pretty much poke NO holes in anything they say. Yah Bless your learning process!! The truth will set you free! And most assuredly there is little to NO truth in the RCC or most of modern Christianity. Sad too.
Jesus, in Mark 2:27, places the creation of the seventh day Sabbath in Genesis 2 and not in Exodus. He also says here in Mark that it was made for man. He didn’t say that He made it for Himself, He made it for Adam, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Paul, Matthew, James, John.
it seems like a huge amount of gymnastics to not just simply follow the plain pattern established by YHVH, if we are trying to represent HIm why not follow His pattern? how is it honest to suggest that the instruction spoken by the Divine from the mountain & inscribed upon in stone is the Law of Moses :( shameful to mix truth & error. the Messiah clearly elevates all His instruction to the heart level, not just rote obeisance.

Galatians 3 King James Version 3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? 4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. 5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? 6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. 9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. 22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: The Lord says if you Love me, Keep my Commandments. The only law nailed to the cross is the oblation that ceased because Jesus is the Ultimate sacrifice.

Galatians 1 says that if we (Apostles) or even an Angel deliver to you another gospel, not that there is another, and you believe, you are cursed, fallen from God’s grace.

Yes, and he shall be blessed.” As soon as Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out with an exceedingly great and bitter cry and said to his father, “Bless me, even me also, O my father!” But he said, “Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.””
Genesis 27:33-35
“God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? Behold, I received a command to bless: he has blessed, and I cannot revoke it.”
Numbers 23:19-20
I know of no place in scripture where it’s either prophesied or declared that the 7th day is no longer holy or blessed.
Why did you skip over the first time the Israelites are commanded to rest in a seven day pattern during the Feast of Unleavened Bread which occurs at Passover in Exodus 12? That precludes the manna-Sabbath.
Hi Zach. The focus of this video is on the word “Sabbath” and the idea of a weekly rest. Neither are mentioned in Exodus 12.
RLS
Itll destroy his argument

Thank you for this
Permitted but not required
Jesus is our rest.
It only takes one act of faith to be considered a "believer"(noun)
It's quite possible those who later reject faith are still saved because God is faithful and they were participated in Christ in baptism even though "sin reigns in their mortal bodies"(Romans 6:12) but it still true according to Romans 6:5 " Since we were united in his death, we will also be raised to life" Romans 6:5.
If you want to keep a Sabbath or a holy day then do it if you don't want to then don't do it you're not any more righteous or less righteous for not or doing it.
no where in Colossians does it say that, that's not order... that's not being on 1 accord... God is NOT the author of confusion.

1) The Decalogue is the Mosaic Covenant written in stone
Deuteronomy 4:13 " So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten [c]Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone. "
Exodus 34:28 "So he was there with the Lord for forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments."
2) The Decalogue was the ministry of death
2 Corinthians 3:7 "But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones..."
3) The Mosaic Covenant, Decalogue, has been replaced
Hebrews 8 "When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. But whatever is becoming obsolete and growing old is about to disappear."
4) Jesus is the new Lawgiver
Hebrews 7:12 "For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also."
5) The Law of Christ (summarized as loving God and loving neighbor)
Jeremiah 31:34 "“I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
Romans 8 "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Galatians 6:2 "Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ."
6) The Law of Christ is possible because of the Holy Spirit
Romans 8:2 " For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death."
Research New Covenant Theology.

Semantics
Semantics is the study of linguistic meaning.
Wait what, you need more proof, ok:
Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.
God did not begin to be God at Mt. Sinai, and he did not stop being God at the cross.
2Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Let’s look at Moses and Aarons first encounter with Pharoh:
Exodus 5:4And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses and Aaron, let the people from their works? get you unto your burdens.
Error.
13:50 “In all of scripture the seventh day rest was never commanded of any other people” really? Isaiah 56:6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

How much apostasy/staining coming out of Catholicism does today’s Christian church hold too.. ie, ( man made tradition ) are we worshiping G-d in our image or in obedience according to the word!?
I pray people read the scriptures for themselves being able to “ rightly divide the word in truth. 2 Timothy 2-15)
Exodus 20:9-11
[9] Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, [10] but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
Exodus 31:16
[16] Therefore the people of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, observing the Sabbath throughout their generations, as a covenant forever.
Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law,
Deuteronomy 31:12
"Blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who lays hold on it; Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.” DO NOT let the son of the FOREIGNER Who has joined himself to the Lord Speak, saying, “The Lord has utterly separated me from His people”; Nor let the eunuch say, “Here I am, a dry tree.” For thus says the Lord: “To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And HOLD FAST MY COVENANT, Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name BETTER than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Isaiah 56:2-7
Hi Rob, what is your opinion on Romans 14 specifically from a non hebrew roots perspective in what you do on your channel

As it is of the law of nature that, in general, a due proportion of time be set apart for the worship of God; so, in his Word, by a positive, moral, and perpetual commandment, binding all men in all ages, he hath particularly appointed one day in seven for a Sabbath, to be kept holy unto him:a which, from the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, was the last day of the week; and, from the resurrection of Christ, was changed into the first day of the week,b which in Scripture is called the Lord’s day,c and is to be continued to the end of the world, as the Christian Sabbath.d

Michael Heiser says, ""The creation narratives in the Bible are not so much about material origins as they are about God bringing order to chaos, establishing function and purpose, and inaugurating sacred space-the cosmos as God’s temple." I think the big problem is we need to understand what the bible says SIN is. once we understand this then there can be no doubt that the Sabbath must be kept.
@@EM-vb8gxwhen were you in Noah’s covenant or even the Mosaic (Moses) Covenant? Are you not a Gentile? Read Acts 15

Hebrews 4
The introduction of Sabbath on Israel was to eventually go out to the whole world.
Jesus is our sabbath. We enter into rest when we enter into him.
That is not what Hebrews 4 is saying. Jesus did not do that as our example in Mark 1 and Luke 4.
Blessings 🎉

"Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one-who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith" (Rom. 3:29-30).

Claim:
"The Sabbath was made for Jews."
Answer:
It is called "the sabbath of the Lord," but never "the sabbath of the Jews" (Exodus 20:10). (Biblical Fact #1)
What did Jesus say? That the sabbath was made for Jews? No! Jesus said: "The sabbath was made for man" (Mark 2:27), for all men. The Greek word translated here as "man" is "anthropos" meaning "people, whether male or female". (Biblical Fact #2)
The fact is that Adam was the only man in existence at the time God made the Sabbath (Genesis 2:1-3). There were no Jews in the world for at least 2,300 years after creation. It could never have been made for them. (Biblical Fact #3)
And the fact that God specifically gave his Sabbath day to the stranger, as well as to the Jews, is proof that the Sabbath was not given exclusively for Jews, but for whoever else wishes to serve the Lord (Isaiah 56:1-8, Exodus 20:10). (Biblical Fact #4)
These Biblical facts debunk the message listed in the video description that suggest that the Sabbath was for Israel/Jews only. The Bible speaks for itself. These facts must be debunked (from the Bible) if one is to believe that the Sabbath was only for the Jews.

Spurgeon and the Sabbath: A Theological Conviction
Spurgeon argued, “And yet the Sabbath had not been instituted according to the law, which proves that its foundation lay deeper and earlier than the promulgation of the Ten Commandments; it is bound up with the essential arrangement of time since creation.”[1] Thus, he believed the Sabbath to be for all people, and it was not abolished with the Old Covenant.
Why would Paul say the following:
(Col 2:16-17 NKJV) (16) So let no one judge you in food or in drink , or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths , (17) which are a shadow of things to come , but the substance is of Christ .

Just watch this videos and see if you can argue with the speakers. ua-cam.com/play/PLru2qbCMGOi4gBY-eR6TEI5ugbM-yh1Vv.html
And while these biblical scholars may not be perfect.
"The word Sabbath is not found in english",, that is correct. If you say it is not there in Hebrew you are simply misrepresenting the truth.
it seems like a huge amount of gymnastics to not just simply follow the plain pattern established by YHVH, if we are trying to represent HIm why not follow His pattern? how is it honest to suggest that the instruction spoken by the Divine from the mountain & inscribed upon in stone is the Law of Moses :( shameful to mix truth & error. the Messiah clearly elevates all His instruction to the heart level, not just rote obeisance.
Amen. God wrote the same Law on our hearts. those were the Commandments of God. All of a sudden we are allowed to kill and commit adultery? is it not the wicked who think good is evil and evil is good? The one Command God says REMEMBER, is the one people forget.
Why are you bringing up blood sacrifices in relationship to the Sabbath? It is apples and oranges.
Your only argument, supposedly in favor of keeping the Sabbath is to spiritualize it away, as if the spiritual negates the physical. Which in fact you agree is not true in the case of water baptism.

Galatians 3
King James Version
3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Sadventism is built upon false proof texts and out of context texts just like what you just posted. Galatians 5 tells us the law was given until 430 years AFTER Abraham. Adventism is cognitive dissonance, stick between two opposing thoughts and yet you also claim to know God’s word. Acts 15 tells you that no Gentile ever received the law. There are verses that tell us that nature was a law to some. Lastly, EGW received her false gospel from her accompanying Angel. Galatians 1 says that if we (Apostles) or even an Angel deliver to you another gospel, not that there is another, and you believe, you are cursed, fallen from God’s grace. Galatians 3 asks who has bewitched you? The Greek meaning, who has cast a spell upon you that you cannot reason? 1 Timothy 1 the wanna be teachers of the law who boldly and arrogantly teach what they do not know, the faith is of a good conscience and love. Adventism is a msg of condemnation not salvation and there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ.
