For people who are confused about the green helmets, if they drowned, it's easier to find as they slowly sink to the bottom because green stays green if they choose any other color then it ends up either turning blue black or brown. And it's really hard to see because then it starts blending in with the water, so if they wear green, it stays green

I have actually seen the Coast Guard in action before. My dad's brother and I were with my grandfather out deep sea fishing off the coast of Oregon and for those of you who don't know that water is flippin cold and all of a sudden there is a boat calling out for assistance because they were starting to sink and they had three men aboard. So my grandpa has this polar lines and we start heading the direction of the MayDay call along with every other boat in the area because if you were going to provide assistance he was navy back in the day. So his moto was if somebody needs help he was going to provide it if he could. We can see the ship and it's probably another 20 ships around there and then suddenly over the CB radio we here and I quote, "BACK OFF, THIS IS THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD. WE'RE ON OUR WAY!!" Then suddenly you can hear a high-powered motor going up and down in pitch and then we looked up towards Land and Sea one of the smaller boats one of the metal ones with the float Ring around the edge I can't think of what they're called. And there's 4 guys on board one is up by the console on the tight holding onto a bar, one on the left side doing the same. The pilot and someone behind him leaning up against a virved seat. The motors just screaming and the reason the pitch kept getting louder and quieter was because they were hitting the waves and catching are they were literally out of the water and then they would land back down and these guys didn't move it was like they were made of stone I didn't see them stumble I didn't see them full I didn't see them shift their weight and they just come ripping across the open ocean. Just skipping waves I mean they are just clearing two or three waves at a time so when they hit are they're probably getting maybe 10 15 ft before they land again and they are just running at full throttle. Anyways I get to the boat just in the back end is down it's about halfway up the boat and it's going out of 15 degree angle they run this boat up onto the deck they pull the three guys off of the fishing boat and then you hear the motor kick on again and they back off about 10 - 15 ft and within 30 seconds that boat was underwater. And they turned around and high-speed back to their base which just happened to be located down the street from my grandparents house in Garibaldi Oregon for those wondering where that is if you've ever had Tillamook cheese it is literally 15 to 20 mi around the curve of the Bay from Tillamook. So yes I have seen the Coast guard in action and I am super impressed with these guys and gals

The Warthog Force Application Vehicle, more commonly known as the Warthog or simply the Hog, is the name for a series of vehicles serving as the United Nations Space Command's primary joint light tactical ground vehicle. Its variants are capable of performing armament carrier, utility, command and control (shelter), ambulance, reconnaissance and a variety of other tactical and logistic support roles. It is a highly mobile, all-wheel-drive, all-wheel-steering, hydrogen-injected ICE-powered vehicle equipped with a manual transmission. The most ubiquitous model is the M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle and its variants, which is equipped with advanced surveillance and a turret-mounted machine gun for a basic defensive capability. The M12 has been a part of the UNSC's mechanized infantry divisions and armored vehicle divisions since 2319, and is the most publicly recognizable vehicle in their arsenal. The Warthog is a four-wheel drive, all-terrain utility vehicle[6] capable of going over any obstacle without difficulty. Under the hood the M12's power is generated by a forward-housed low-profile liquid-cooled hydrogen-injected ICE I/C plant, coupled with an automatic infinitely variable transmission (IVT). The hydrogen fuel is burned at a very high temperature with a synthetic carbon/silicon catalyst to achieve even better fuel consumption. This hydrogen engine is the standard among all UNSC ground (and most air) based vehicles, replacing fossil fuel-based engines some 400 years ago. The Warthog features a Graf/Hauptman solar/saline actuator, which is capable of converting up to twelve liters of fresh, brackish or salt water into hydrogen on the fly. Detritus from the process is compacted on board and disposed of manually by the crew. This allows the Warthog to travel 790 kilometers (490 miles) before it needs to be refueled, a range that can be easily extended by the addition of any container capable of holding liquid. Older models boast a fully independent swing-arm suspension system and four in-hub wheel motors.
I have been watching all army reacts and military videos, etc. Especially the narrator to cope with the fact my husband just left three weeks ago to army, boot camp.
11:29 This reminds me of Cadet-O-Rama in Girl Scouts. The knot tying. I *still* am bad at them, kept forgetting how to tie them. I know the square knot, bowline, figure 8, and that’s it. I’m pretty much useless, trail signs were my strong suit. I let the others who spent everyday tying knots to bring our score up, I would uphold the trail signs part of it. I even made flash cards. 24:23 God that reminds me of PE. The mile. Hated that shit. I did have a strat that I learned from friends: jog the straights, walk the curves. Also the curl ups, that was my forté. Core exercises was one of the things in PE that I was good at. I would be one of the last people doing them, the minimum was like 15, but I would do 35. I made it to 40 something one time after the strict PE teacher (not mine, he was teaching the other class in the gym) complimented me on the curl ups. Immediate ego boost, and I’m still proud of it to this day. No clue how many curl ups I can do now.
I'm a CS in the coast guard and with my job they still require me to learn how to fix everything (engine, reefers, steering control, etc..). Thats the cool part about the coast guard is everyone becomes a jack of all trades
5 days and I will be going through this as well. Can't wait, also this is not Cape May this is CG academy. I would recommend watching the Cape may video.
US Navy here. Key notes on the Firefighting training. There are 4 different types of fires: Class Alpha is ash fire - stuff that burns easily and leaves a white smoke like wood, trash, and cloth. Class Bravo is flammable liquids/chemicals - oil, NON-oxidised fuel, certain types of cleaners. Class Charlie is electrical fire. Class Delta is a self-oxidising fire, fuel that has oxygen in it and ammunition. In the video, they were simulating a class charlie fire. The primary way to stop the fire is to turn off the power to said electrical component that is on fire. If fire is still going, and power is turned off, treat fire as class Alpha fire. Use CO2 extiguisher or fire hose. In the video, they used AFFF (Aquious Film Forming Foam). This can be used in on a piece of electrical component AS LONG AS POWER IS OFF. Because AFFF has water inside of it, it is not recommended to use on Charlie fires, until power is off. Now in the full firefighter gear part, the reason why they are in "gremlin mode" is because heat and smoke rises; they do not want to be blinded nor pass out from heat exposure. Their gear - FFEs (Firefighting Equipment) helps protect them from heat to a certain extent. However, if they get drenched by any type of water, the only thing they can do is egress the drenched individual from the fire space so that they won't burn to death from steam in their suit. Navy and Coast Guard share the same firefighting principles and take it VERY seriously. There are three different types of fire extinguishers - AFFF, CO2, and PKP. Everyone knows CO2. AFFF is also in the same familiarity. PKP is Potassium Bicarbonite. It's a powdered extinguisher that basically stops the chemical reaction to fires. For a fire to form it needs Heat, Oxygen, Fuel, and the Chemical reaction. Simpily remove any one of those factors from the fire and the fire will go down.
I was in the Navy and it is pretty similar. The swimming portion is done pretty early into training. Its not part of the PFA. Te part that you couldn't hear was the instructor telling them that anyone that can't swim to tell them now. You would be surprised at how many people join the Navy or Coast Guard that can't swim. In my division of about 90 people there were about 10 that didn't say anything then jumped off the platform and immediately started drowning. They do the swim part early because of this. It isn't a disqualification if they don't pass it the first time. They just send them to swimming lessons on the half day we had of time Sunday mornings. By the time basic is over they will know how to swim and haven't missed any training or had to be pushed back.
It saddens me that Narrator thinks that ppl don't mean it when they say "Thank you for your service". I for a fact mean it each and every time cause I know how hard they had to work to even get into their positions let alone see any action. They sign their life away to the government to do whatever they want with them mentally and phyically. It's hell. I don't know if maybe it just a self concious thing of Narrator to think that ppl don't mean it but I really hope he understands that ppl do mean it. Thank you for all your hard work and dealing with the suck.
They look happy in a few of those scenes because that was towards the end of bootcamp when they just got liberty for the first time, their CCs start to relax and are a week away from graduation
Day 109 I will be posting this on ever video hence forth until dnd. All right the challenge, a call to arms if you will, you need a dnd video. i will even DM if you so choose but do not test my resolve it is not required.
I joined the army at 16 in 1983, went to fort Leonard wood Missouri and became a combat engineer. Sent me to benning in support of an infantry unit. By 1985, instead of letting me reenlist, at 18, I was honorably discharged. I then joined the coast guard and had to go to boot camp all over again. I spent 8 years in the coast guard, got out in 93 as an E6. I remember being in the army and sleeping in a tent in a thunderstorm. I was pretty scared, then I got caught in a hurricane out at sea rescuing people. I wished then for that tent.
Proud Coast Guard veteran here! Our basic training we are in squad bays. Everyone in the same room. What you watched is the CG Academy, but I wouldn’t know about that since I worked for living 😂
Oh god this brought back memories☠️ Sad to see that they aren't putting out real fires in the tank anymore, and aren't doing any firearms training in boot camp from the looks of it. Always love to see other vets' takes on our basic🫡💕
One of my animal science teachers in college her son joined the Coast guard and so we asked what he did and apparently he was on one of the big Coast guard cutters and their tour took them from San Diego to Hawaii and back so they would spend a few hours when they were still within view of land doing drills and rescue and stuff like that and then as soon as they were out of sight of command and they were certain they weren't going to get caught the captain would order them to break out the fishing poles and they would go deep sea fishing for like 2 days on their way to Hawaii
In military, they disrespected people don’t handle from one of those people yelling at them get a consequence, and he took off his jacket and was a professional fighter, he said if you want to get one of these batteries work on time or do you want
I help run some of those simulated fire training stuff, the key is you wanna hit it in the right spots to go out, kinda like those watergun carnival games, and when you think it's over and it's almost out, you fuel it some more so they practically have to start over (which can happen irl). You could technically sit there and fuck with them for a hot minute. It's not too bad, plus I do it with civilians and people are stupid in emergencies, so getting them comfortable with it ain't too shabby.
I'll tell you one thing the Coast guard and navy and whoever else does knots. They don't have nothing on crocheters. We crocheters can turn a knot into flowers, shirt, anything we want we can turn it into. Crocheting is just turning knots into something pretty. And boy do we have a lot of knots
😂 I still remember the first morning after getting dropped off and getting grilled for not sleeping under the covers. They were so damn crisp and the corners perfect I didn’t want to ruin em.
For some context on why the guy had very little medals, unlike in the army in the navy it’s very very hard to get any medals. My father was in for 11 years and he said just to get one medal you’d have liberate a whole country on ur own
Hey Narrator. Can confirm the beginning is the Coast Guard Academy, not normal boot camp for us peasants. The confidence course and the after is at Cape May though.
I have my boating license (done by the Coast Guard) i also use to be a fire cadet two things that woulda 100% helped me i've been on the water since about 3 years old and i was gonna go into the Guard but sadly i'm no longer able to but several of my family members have been in the guard also that pool water...COLD very cold every step is to basically prepare your body for the extreme cold and not go into shock people can talk mad smack on the guard and say they do nothing but they do better than the DNR (Department of natural resources) mad respect to all branches...except the space people.
When i saw basic training, I was expecting Cape May off the get-go. The first few minutes is the officer academy in New London before it transitions to TRACEN Cape May.
For a branch of the military the swimming tests would be something I enjoy doing for fun and with the speed there doing it at I could get like 2 laps before they get one
as a non army veteran i can confirm coast guard training is easy, but to prove it i have done the military training test and never missed a single day i have managed 100 days
My dad was in for 30 year and he says that’s the academy training because cadets are not the people who are company commanders for the enlisted he retired at a E8 he was on the bigger ships out at the baring sea when he went thorough boot camp he went to a actual ship board fire fighting school
13:30 ah yes that big red ball not sure what the Coast Guard calls it but here in our military we call that a "Monkey fist". Its a weighed ball, ours looks more like a bunch of heavy rope rolled into a ball the size of a base ball or softball that you attach to the end of your ships line upon throwing it, helps carry the line further onto the pier or jetty for the person on said pier or jetty to beable to retrieve said line by pulling onto the monkey fist line and help secure it to the pier or jetty as your ship docks. Also im always jealous of our US counterparts witht he amount of cool shit they have access to which I wish we had but being a tiny nation in comparison with a waaaayyyy smaller budget we could only work with what we got XD. At the end of the day though we love working along side the coast guard during joint ops all the time. :)
Either you changed the name of the video, or you somehow made the notification say this: "Silly Little Brother of the MILITARY (Coast Guard Basic Training) | Veteran Reacts"
lol my dad was Army and when you mentioned your hearing was affected by the gun I had to pause to laugh. My dad was tank certified and during training once he ended up losing some hearing himself lol. He was told SOP was put in really good ear plugs and then turn your radio up all the way so you hear it and put your headset on. Only this time my dad decided NOT to use his ear plug and that just happened to be a day they were doing target practice with live rounds 😂 If you don’t understand the inside of tanks is all metal, small, and it’s basically an echo chamber. The gun went off and the sound bounced around the enclosed area where my dad with the wisdom of many a young men didn’t have any ear protection on 😂
As a certified FireFighter and about to be 18 the drill instuctors can help you learn how to put fire out with an extinguisher or 1 3/4 attack line, but they were doing it wrong, the steam expansion ratio is 1 to 1600 which would cause an explosion and you would be steam roasted to death, and for the extinguisher you do somthing called P.A.S.S, also known as pull, aim, squeeze, sweep, not just blast the fire directly, yw for the facts lol
For people who are confused about the green helmets, if they drowned, it's easier to find as they slowly sink to the bottom because green stays green if they choose any other color then it ends up either turning blue black or brown. And it's really hard to see because then it starts blending in with the water, so if they wear green, it stays green

I saw that too I'm surprise narrator didn't see it.

I just found this channel yesterday and I'm hooked 😂 love these man
The Warthog Force Application Vehicle, more commonly known as the Warthog or simply the Hog, is the name for a series of vehicles serving as the United Nations Space Command's primary joint light tactical ground vehicle.
No clue how many curl ups I can do now.
cost guard are badass AF the stuff they do especially up in Alaska is terrifying and no way i could ever do it.
Hey Narrator!!! Love your vids man! You’re my fave member of the boys (Eddie is a close second)
Thank you for serving your country and saving your people from the evil
You need to find a USMC boot camp video I want to see your reaction on how bad its gotten since I went
It looks like Narrator got a haircut. If you did, It looks nice 😊👍. If you didn’t… it still looks nice☺️
Otter, respect, devotion, and duty!
1:10 "jesus Christ my guy. Breath man!"
🤣
They look happy in a few of those scenes because that was towards the end of bootcamp when they just got liberty for the first time, their CCs start to relax and are a week away from graduation
attempted Navy here and the fire segment brought back memories
Day 109 I will be posting this on ever video hence forth until dnd. All right the challenge, a call to arms if you will, you need a dnd video. i will even DM if you so choose but do not test my resolve it is not required.
Thanks for the quality content Narrator
14:42 Ah yes green stands out in water, just like blue
My dad was a US veteran as well. He fought in the Iraq war and hurt his leg twice.
😂😂😂😂 9:50 that's an E5 yelling at future 0-1's!!!!
I bet he is loving this gig!!!
Yup! lol😂
As an army vet I would love to get your take on some of the videos the fat electrician puts out because a few of the guys he covers were army as well
In military, they disrespected people don’t handle from one of those people yelling at them get a consequence, and he took off his jacket and was a professional fighter, he said if you want to get one of these batteries work on time or do you want
2:30 Good freak-ing shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Keep it simple. Clean. And efficient.
If Narrator responds it will make my year 🥹
God watching this is hilarious, I've been in for 4 years in the coast guard already
😂😂😂
@@ETC_Rohaly_USCG I'm just stating the truth lol
I like how the cost guard has a cover that says “recruit” and other branches just go “here have some peace of clothing we got for you”
The fire fighting was pretty awesome
Hi Narrator i love you! Both my parents are part of the coast guard. Much love 💕
Nice to know as I am going into the coast guard. Thanks narrator 😂
My father was in for 11 years and he said just to get one medal you’d have liberate a whole country on ur own
National Guard here for almost 11 years now Its been crazy even though i do it part time
Hey Narrator. Can confirm the beginning is the Coast Guard Academy, not normal boot camp for us peasants. The confidence course and the after is at Cape May though.
You should react to national guard training video.
Or do army training video and compare it to your experience
Thx for your service
5:16 y'all got to sit in training on Parris Island we stood outside in formation screaming knowledge to our drill instructors
4:29 was driving me crazy. I was waiting for the DI to come out of nowhere "YOUR OTHER FUCKING LEFT!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
as a non army veteran i can confirm coast guard training is easy, but to prove it i have done the military training test and never missed a single day i have managed 100 days
Yea, this is the Coast Guard Academy
My dad was in for 30 year and he says that’s the academy training because cadets are not the people who are company commanders for the enlisted he retired at a E8 he was on the bigger ships out at the baring sea when he went thorough boot camp he went to a actual ship board fire fighting school
I watch your videos with great pleasure. Your videos are a real treat for the eyes.👀⛏⛴
Love your videos
Only this time my dad decided NOT to use his ear plug and that just happened to be a day they were doing target practice with live rounds 😂
If you don’t understand the inside of tanks is all metal, small, and it’s basically an echo chamber. The gun went off and the sound bounced around the enclosed area where my dad with the wisdom of many a young men didn’t have any ear protection on 😂
As a navy vet, our basic was so much easier than this. Spent most our time folding clothes.
When I’m older I plan on joining the navy soon!
Better to join the Airforce. Trust me
As many others have said this is CG Academy. Basic Training in Cape May, NJ was muuuuch different
As a certified FireFighter and about to be 18 the drill instuctors can help you learn how to put fire out with an extinguisher or 1 3/4 attack line, but they were doing it wrong, the steam expansion ratio is 1 to 1600 which would cause an explosion and you would be steam roasted to death, and for the extinguisher you do somthing called P.A.S.S, also known as pull, aim, squeeze, sweep, not just blast the fire directly, yw for the facts lol
they are the brother that acts tough
NARRATOR THE THUMBNAIL YOU USED IS OF THE INDOOR POOL AT MAYPORT NAVAL STATION IN FLORIDA, I WORK THERE AS A LIFEGUARD!! :D
I love your videos I’ll watch even when no one does u-u
Love your new video keep it up your Amazing😎😎😎💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
