Nottingham Forest boss Brian Clough unveils his latest signing - striker Trevor Francis - to the assembled press. Francis' transfer from Birmingham City sets a new British transfer record. Will the first player to command a seven-figure transfer fee be able to cope with the pressure?

Incredible how the the first club spent the most money on a player was Nottingham Forrest.They were a great club for a short while and i was thinking of being a fan.Remember also seeing Peter Shilton being interviewed on Swap Shop.

What part of the player’s salary was in the transfer fee? Did the player get the 1 million or did his former club get the money and the player got a smaller amount as salary?

Transfer fee goes to the club 100% (sell on clause maybe applicable) a player will recieve a signing bonus separately normally 10% and wages probably around 5k a week for 79
