Honestly man I don't think it's possible to give this game a sequel. I feel like any new gameplay features you could add to justify calling it a sequel would just take away from the experience. Maybe the best thing to do would be to give Left 4 Dead 2 a full remaster in Source 2 and maybe make a new Left 4 Dead game that offers a different take on the IP. Maybe a spinoff.
honestly, i agree. i feel like some games just reach their peak mechanically, and any additions or changes after that just ruins balance. Halo 3 to Halo Reach is a perfect example of that. sometimes you just perfect a formula, and leave it at that :^) kinda like CS:GO

It’s funny, because I’m an older Millennial and my dad was who got me into Half-Life when it first came out. Crazy how time flies. Cherish the moments.
Back4Blood is exactly what was to be expected, L4D without a crazy amount of Valve shine, if anything it perfectly shows why Valve is so highly regarded and why Turtle Rock cant survive without them. The amount of detail and attention that goes in Valve's titles is absolutely insane, but people tend to not really think about half of it until they start comparing with other games, putting B4B side-by-side with L4D2 is jarring as hell, like they forgot about half the game. But then you realize Valve made that other half of the game 😂
Which is a crazy take in my opinion because I love B4B, more than L4D2, but it's difficult to play these days because the playbase is so small. I think a lot of the people who bash on B4B didn't actually play it. As a game it's insanely fun by itself, and it really expanded on the L4D formula quite well. But I guess most people care more about graphics than gameplay and want a simpler, bare-bones experience and don't like change and complexity added to the formula. Specializing in a specific weapon type or gameplay style? That's no fun, apparently. Let's all play the same character with the same basic abilities that never change and approach each situation the same way! Character choice, card choice, weapon choice, etc all matter in B4B, but in L4D your choice of character is irrelevant to the gameplay, and there's no card system to allow you to change how you play. But hey, the zombies ragdoll with more realistic physics, so who cares about player choice.
@@jazzyj7834 What you point out I do agree with to an extent, I love the increased weapon variety and the cards system was a pretty interesting spin on the formula imo. With all of this combined, I just lost interest. Obviously most of these gripes are subjective, but I think if a few were addressed, B4B would still have a decent sized player base.

Actually if they ever wanna make the new l4d2 and need a new idea, I got one. Just the characters are kids, maybe most preteens. Revolve around early apocalypse. New melees like hockey stick, kitchen knife, taser to stun (on police), bludgeon, tennis racket, pipe wrench, gardening rake, trench knives and so on. Maps like suburban neighbourhood, museum, the zoo, prison and beach. New special infected; spidey (just children climbing the wall), drowners (tries to drown you in water). Any more ideas are more than welcome 👌
L4D2 is the game i play the most by a huge gap compared to my other games. Nothing in my library comes close. Yeah it would be nice to have a L4D3...but im still having fun with L4D2 to this day...
If anything is really done for L4D3, it'd probably have to be some big infected overhaul and source 2. The infected in both games just aren't very well explained, especially in versus. I imagine the 1 year dev cycle had to give something the slip, and it was the zombies experience. So when you play this game, it's really no wonder why versus is so terrible. The lack of a tutorial for the zombies, their non-existent or otherwise lacking team play, and the lack of explanation for their origin and nature due to it being 2 weeks into the outbreak basically made that half of the game lack polish. It kind of forgets that part of the halo design where it's supposed to be fun to hit and get hit and goes to any old multiplayer game. Unlike the survivors which absolutely nailed this. The campaigns helped you get acquainted and familiar with all the mechanics, weapons, items, locations, stories, etc. as survivors, and it felt really fun and casual. Something I always wanted, but never got was infected campaigns. The zombies and the campaigns are pretty clearly designed for PVE as survivors first, and it's really no wonder why they just don't play as well in PVP. It's fun to shoot zombies, but it's not really ever fun to be shot at as a zombie. While there are pretty rarely great moments with coordinating zombie attacks, that's about all they are. Moments. Unlike the survivors, it's not really easy or fun to play as zombies casually, leading to pretty terrible matches, and people just turning off that part of the game entirely. If I need 7 friends just to have even an ok time to play your game in the pvp mode, I'm not playing your pvp mode. Fixing that could be another game in itself. But it's fun to dream.
he is not wrong l4d2 will not die it still in top 100 games played on steam me who has played it for a long time still enjoys it some times with workshop sometimes without how big would the game would become if there was a l4d3 same with a update on tf2

I use to come home from middle school and play this on the Xbox 360 everyday... fun times
THE HUNTER CAN WALLJUMP?!?!?!?!
I keep playing l4d2 with my friends to this day
That was (is) literally one of the best games ive ever played, ive got such a good memories from playing with random people

My tank is shrek, and the tank music is all star. Mods are great.
I was one of the best 10 vs 10 players in the world (vanilla mode) the fun I had with lfd2 still make me smile.
he is not wrong l4d2 will not die it still in top 100 games played on steam me who has played it for a long time still enjoys it some times with workshop sometimes without
how big would the game would become if there was a l4d3 same with a update on tf2
It's totally possible to play truly solo, there's even a mutatuion for that, but yeah, it's really hard and you can't save yourself from Special Infected, only other people can. So if you are not a L4D god who avoids being caught - you're donezo
I bought lfd on the summer sale when it was 0.99 cents, and by god it was the best 99 cents spent on a video game ever
Left 4 dead was the first video game I played when I was 4 years old and now I’m 14 I’m am older then left 4 dead 2 by a few months
mixing a classic with a classic, love the intro

I really hope if they ever make a Left 4 Dead 3 they add an open world version like Dying Light, because that would be amazing
15:50 bro caught some slugs ☠️☠️
Still play to this day. Community servers are fun to mix it up from playing versus.
I still love this games !. This is my second game hrs on steam with over hrs and hrs of game play with some greate times and favorite moments and the mods creative with new maps.
Took me a month to finish all L4D1 campaigns solo on expert.
God L4D2 has so many fantastic memories with me and the boys staying up until 2 trying to be serious but absolutely failing hardcore and trying to not wake our parents who’d get on our asses for playing til 2!
youtube recommended suprised me... cool vid.. subbed
Deep Rock Galactic is 4 player co-op game that imo measures up to l4d as one of best co-op games out there.
Always is good to return to the good times and have fun
The left 4 dead back 4 blood joke i subscribed bro
I remember thinking Back 4 Blood was going to be Left 4 Dead 3, boy was I wrong. My interest in that game died after the first week, haven't touched it since and haven't even though about playing it again.
I'm glad that, even though we'll never get L4D3, we at least have Deep Rock Galactic to carry the genre's torch.
Watching your vids makes me wanna join you in some games man, looks like a great time
WE CAN GET HIM! (famous last words)

I loved evolve, not sure why it died but I really want a remaster or something
