I was more pointing out that the more a sequel changes, the more it develops fanbases to certain styles, regardless of if the game is good or bad. Misuse of the word “usually” since it’s more common for good sequels to come out :^) A sequel, IMO, should always BUILD on the original game, rather than changing the formula entirely. I am a proud Valve dick rider and when all my friends make fun of me for playing Team Fortress 2 in 2023 and Counter-Strike instead of Valorant I will always stand proud and defend my decisions. And in all honesty a few months back we had the conversation of Valorant vs CSGO and I told to my friend the EXACT phrase you said in the video. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I simply do not care if the game hasn't been updated in 2 years BECAUSE it is still fun! Very nice video man, you completely speak for me in these "... will never die" videos!
Same, pulled a friend who's been very strongly dick riding every modern title with PC melting graphics into a wonderful adventure through Valve titles like L4D2, CS:GO, Portal 2's coop and TF2 only to see him a week later racking up hours on each one of these.
You touched on it briefly but another overlooked feature of CS is mods and the modding community. SDK's, mods and map creators are a huge factor in making games timeless. Part of the reason why games like warcraft 3 and minecraft have so much longevity is because they also offer endless experiences (through mods) ontop of a game that stands on its own two feet.
I like that the skins and maps are made by the community since it involves the community in ways other games can dream of. We vote for our favorites and then they might get into the game. Personally I really like making maps and skins for the game, there is even the possibility to earn money from it. Something that Valorant will never even come close to. The economy of the skins market is really unique and has probably helped the game a lot.
One thing with CS:2 that got overlooked is in one of their trailers they mentioned that modding and mapping will be easier in the new editor. One thing that was overlooked in CS:GO was actual decent modding (Compared to 1.6 & Source). So I feel like community servers will be even more popular and the potential for custom maps will be even higher and I can't wait for what the community will cook up!
Great video! CS has been a favourite of mine since I first played source in 05. The one thing I'd love to see is for community servers to grow in popularity again. Back in source there was no match making, you had to use the server browser and often you'd find a gem. CSGO had some gems for a while but now I can't find anything beyond russian servers claiming to host ever game mode at once. It'd be cool if CS2 got a boost to community servers but I doubt it, especially with the need to compete with games like valorant.
Yet ANOTHER banger in the "Never die" series. I think the new smoke physics are cool and hate for it will mostly be a vocal minority. as much as I agree that slow movement and forcing the player to stop moving for a perfect accuracy shot is good, there's something incredible about outmanoeuvring a player in a game like Titanfall 2 with tons of movement mechanics. personally, though, I prefer games more in the middle rather than super slow/fast movement. I found one game that was the perfect speed for me, where it has running, sliding, crouching, etc but it's not extremely fast, so jump shots and drop shots are still more critical in movement than shit like double jumping and wall-running. it also has a few movement exploits that take a while to get used to but are still fun to use for your advantage in positioning and taking the opponent by surprise. tldr: I personally prefer games which have a bit of movement but aren't entirely focused around it and instead allow the player to use it more for positioning than in combat.
Also CS:GO skins, the market, all the finance about it, people earning ABSOLUTE money from the game. CS:GO is not just an awesome game. It is a fucking different world.
Generally speaking: CS:GO players love the chickens, are flummoxed by the knives, are in agreement that Dust2 is in some ways the game's only map, and hate hackers almost as much as they hate being called hackers. And of course, like any good game, for all the complaints most people have, they still can't stop playing.
i will say when it comes to Halo i do think the CORE of infinite did a pretty good job at trying to appeal to both sides of the fanbase, the ones that like 4 and 5's style and the ones that like the classic style. if it werent for literally EVERY other issue that came with releasing that game way too early before it was actually complete, itd probably be doing better. and yeah I agree not every game needs to have sprinting or sliding.

Your point about standing still to kill someone is a bit oversimplified (I know it's mostly for comedy). If you master counter-strafing you can move pretty freely as long as you kill your enemies quickly (headshots). Your spray is also completely accurate if you're crouch-walking, which can add a subtle level of movement to gunfights
Weirdly enough, I have seen some bias toward cs versions. You don’t see it a lot but it’s there. Csgo was actually meant to bring these divided people together and I think that’s why it’s such a great popular game and why there isn’t that much of version clash anymore.
CS:GO doesnt really look like a me game, I praise tf2 as the only shooter I can consistantly enjoy due to its more casual approach towards playing, you can get really good and be top scoring, or low scoring but still having fun because you are slapping people with fish, with cs it really seems like you need to know what you are doing and have fairly precise aim, but regardless I will always appreciate the game for the impact it left and the fans it continues to have!

Call of Duty Warzone -> Last 30 Days -> 52,682,867. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive -> Last 30 Days -> 1,510,231. So... about that being super alive and well thing...
Maybe it's just me but I am abit worried about Counter Strike 2 though. Because it's 12 years apart, naturally there would be some improvement, but what if there are also some downgrade too? Just saying cause although Valve was awesome, I feel Valve games is still good only because they made a live service game when they were still good. Now when then finally made new game after so long, that ended up being bad which was Artifact. But we'll see, hopefully Counter Strike 2 really will be good. Lol XD
Can't agree: CS 2 is a new game with a new engine and a lot of changes. They're not the same. Why doesn't CS die? Because Valve is interacting with players, they analyze a lot of data from players, cyber sportsmen influencers, and even haters. Even bugged jumping system (surfing, b-hop, etc) is alive because players like it.
i think CS2 right now is more of a “prepping for the future” move. i know CSGO has a lot of under the hood problems, so this is a fresh start for them. although they’ve made some changes, nothing really drastic to the main formula, which is a good thing IMO. the quality of life stuff is definitely appreciated
Im not against no sliding in games, but a good movement is 50% of the fun in game for me. Vast majority of "tactical shooters" make you a disabled snail which cant even jump properly, I can count games that got away with this by fingers of one hand. (Also if you a newbie and a main gamemode includes permadeath, that sucks buddy, good luck trying to learn the game while spectating game of other people instead of playing it)
i think there’s definitely a fine balance, but i think some games don’t HAVE to have “advanced mechanics” i think it comes down to the Devs asking, “does this feature really benefit the gameplay, or are we adding it because other games have it?”
Im glad someone made a video on csgo to prove that its a masterpiece, counter-strike can never be good without Valve. And its obviously true, csgo will never die. And I don’t believe cs2 will be controversial since valve hadn’t really changed the gameplay mechanics and neither the recoil, so it won’t be a problem in my opinion. And btw, don’t be sad that csgo will be gone soon. Just be happy that you’ve experienced csgo
I mean at this point CS is a full fledged sport. So i get why they arent changing many things about it. Imagine if in basketball they added something new, like deployable trampoline or some shit.
For me It’s the movement that makes cs soooooo good. It’s literally perfect in every way. Like I tried playing valorant when it first came out and the fact you lose momentum mid air if you swap guns made me instantly uninstall and never touch it again.
The only bad thing I can say about CS, is that it's one of the reasons why competetive to the bone games overtook the industry, everything else is really damn good.
The ironic part here is that CS is not competitive to the bones itself. This is evident with Valorant release who did a great job copying competitive CS while missing the important bits.
Gotta love Valve, They make timeless classics that are still popular today that a potato PC can run, even left4dead and half life is on sale for $2 every now and then, they release the steam deck for literally no profit on their end apart from people buying games for it within their store, and with these free to play games its down to the individuals to decide how much they want to give to get a unique skin, they are geniuses not looking to rip someone off but in the process make millions a month doing so.
that’s definitely one of their biggest strengths, that almost anyone with a computer can play their games. very easy to access. really shows that fancy graphics will always lose to amazing game design
I don't think the smoke change will harm the game in the longterm, maybe the players can get frustrated in the beginning with the change, those who have played it have welcomed the change. It is here to stay and it is such an insane feat that the community will come to love it by themselves even if they were to hate it in the beginning.
One thing that makes Counter Strike more fun is that learning the mechanics will reward you a lot. If you learn how to only headshot people(which fps players refuse to do nowadays) you will be rewarded with being a killing machine. You can later bring this skill into other fps games
Another one of CS's strengths is that it is a fantastic game to watch at a pro level. You don't nessacarily even need to play the game and you can enjoy CS.
yes agreed! CS competitive is so damn entertaining. never a dull moment
Pro CS is the pinnacle e-sport...nothing comes close

So... about that being super alive and well thing...

Other games may be cool but the CS is the emotion.
only game that is not pay to win
Im not against no sliding in games, but a good movement is 50% of the fun in game for me.
Vast majority of "tactical shooters" make you a disabled snail which cant even jump properly, I can count games that got away with this by fingers of one hand. (Also if you a newbie and a main gamemode includes permadeath, that sucks buddy, good luck trying to learn the game while spectating game of other people instead of playing it)
i think there’s definitely a fine balance, but i think some games don’t HAVE to have “advanced mechanics”
i think it comes down to the Devs asking, “does this feature really benefit the gameplay, or are we adding it because other games have it?”
@@kel_ski fair.
2:03 the rifles itself isn't 80 bucks its like 20 but still not good
Halo 5 gameplay coming soon confirmed?? 👀
The funniest thing is my math teacher has access to cs 2
tell him to slide me his account info

outro song?
House of monogon by michael wyckoff, you should also check out his other songs
Oh Nooo CSGO didnt get a update for a whole year !
A WHOLE YEAR MAN !
Meanwhile TF2:
LOLLLL real
How could you forget the surfing 😢
Like I tried playing valorant when it first came out and the fact you lose momentum mid air if you swap guns made me instantly uninstall and never touch it again.
bunny hopping and strafing in source games is just
*chefs kiss*
@@kel_ski Yeppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp Chefs kissss
what? U can strafe easily in valo, raze movement is satisfying asf
@@bbotch5026 also neon and jett
@@bbotch5026 He isn't complaining about strafing. Read the comment slowly
The only bad thing I can say about CS, is that it's one of the reasons why competetive to the bone games overtook the industry, everything else is really damn good.
i think others are trying to get some of that ESPORT pie lol, because some games definitely can’t hold their place in the scene
@@kel_skivalve started the gold rush, others flud the mines
The ironic part here is that CS is not competitive to the bones itself. This is evident with Valorant release who did a great job copying competitive CS while missing the important bits.
So the only bad thing about CS is that it's too good, basically.
yeah, public/community servers don't receive any love anymore....
Can confirm, i managed to run HL2 and L4D2 on a celeron, truly the best optimization of all time, unlike these.. games.
Csgo free. Prime costy
Csgo needs more game modes
Sad, I am unable to run L4D2 on parallels desktop on mac, tho I can run TF2 perfectly
Great video. Can’t believe I missed out on the chance to play with Kelski during matchmaking in cas or comp.
yoooo thank you for the super thanks man!! honestly i’ll probably be playing more lol, maybe i’ll come across ya
hatdog mo
The game will never die. BUT I ALWAYS DIE.
lmaooo real
I don't think the smoke change will harm the game in the longterm, maybe the players can get frustrated in the beginning with the change, those who have played it have welcomed the change. It is here to stay and it is such an insane feat that the community will come to love it by themselves even if they were to hate it in the beginning.
One thing that makes Counter Strike more fun is that learning the mechanics will reward you a lot.
If you learn how to only headshot people(which fps players refuse to do nowadays) you will be rewarded with being a killing machine. You can later bring this skill into other fps games
“The only thing that can kill Counter Strike, is Counter Strike”
