I love how Valve tried to make the survivors go around the fire on dead center, which could potentially lead to more death charges. In the end we all know we’re just gonna run through the fire.
For Dead Centre, Sometimes you go through the toy shop, other times you go through the route you took. Sometimes the escalator is on the right, others on the left it changes
Actually the changes in the maps layouts are at random, it can be either way in either versus or campaign, and in the case of the graveyard in the parish it can be laid out in many different ways each time you play
Some of these differences were just in how the game director sets up the level paths. Like in dead center either the long or short path will spawn in the hallways, and the barricades in different maps will spawn in or out between map reloads
For those memes and jokes aside: The reason why Versus maps are open, is *to make the survivors more opening and aware of dangers of the special infected.* And also in Campaign some routes are random or blocked because to prevent the game much short, and even to make more for those who plays in expert or realistic.
I kinda like the ideas they just change some parkour in versus so they won’t have the avantages of “I know this place by my heart” by “wait, those stair weren’t supposed to be there?”
Regardless of comparisons, L4D and LFD2 were the best social engagments of youth, I was advised to download the L4D demo when it first released and it changed my life. I just absolutely love it
Map changes are due to the director actually. I’ve seen most of those routes in Campaign. As for its consistency in versus I’m not sure since I don’t play it.
1:46 I thought this was also in campaign when the door breaks and lets the fire into the hallway, so that regular players take the intended path of going through the rooms and windows
The paths part is actually on both, it's a random chance for any of both configurations. I played campaign and got both those paths to disable the alarm on the mall.
The dead center paths are based on survivor health and performance, while the paths in versus are set randomly per match, not round, MATCH. Meaning one match its upstairs entrance, the next could be downstairs. The...stair elevator things can have the shortest path, or the longest path, or somewhere in between. Again, for campaign its health and performance, for versus its randomized per match. Not all map geometry changes are based on health or performance, some depend on rng, but most are health and performance related. Inventory not carrying over is to prevent cheating, to make it all fair, and make sure no more than 1 person gets a grenade launcher, or everyone starts with a molotov, or so that every round, everything is fair except maybe player skills.
It's cool that the devs let the Speedrun and tricks stay in the campaign but patched them out in versus since it's a more competitive gamemode, allowing the hardcore fans to enjoy their mode while letting the casual community do their fun wacky boundary breaks is nice
Did anyone else know you used to be able to combine explosive and fire bullets? I'm not sure if you can still, but when the update first came out you could.
Understand that some of these clips werent played on Normal Difficulty for Campaign mode. Only on Easy Difficulty do you not get interrupted for timed actions (Reviving teammates, filling gas, starting generators, though some may be exempt depending on maps/scripts) VS Map Generation is locked to the fastest path, though RARELY will you see it use the longer route, however certain maps will use RNG no matter what gamemode it is (Ex. Dark Carnival Chapter 4, Parish Chapter 3) Map RNG also applies to what Difficulty the match is on (VS is locked to Normal, even on Realism mode) (PERSONAL THOUGHT, PROBABLY NOT LEGIT, JUST FROM OBSERVATION) - I have almost 2k hours on Steam and have played each campaign numerous times in many different gamemodes.
I absolutely had an identity crisis thinking they're in the same spots and paths for the campaign and versus like I didn't even know they're some removed.

Lfd2 will forever stay goated 💯
Yo thanks for the comparison, i was thinking about these diferences.
It's cool that the devs let the Speedrun and tricks stay in the campaign but patched them out in versus since it's a more competitive gamemode, allowing the hardcore fans to enjoy their mode while letting the casual community do their fun wacky boundary breaks is nice
Ah yes, Campaign Versus Versus
Congrats 1M🎉 HSTop

Это так мило, танк радуется тому что попал камнем и по-сути убил человека е хуям:3
Did anyone else know you used to be able to combine explosive and fire bullets? I'm not sure if you can still, but when the update first came out you could.
I'm pretty sure that has been fixed. It just overwrites your current ammunition type.
Theres a workshop mod that does that
Understand that some of these clips werent played on Normal Difficulty for Campaign mode.
Only on Easy Difficulty do you not get interrupted for timed actions (Reviving teammates, filling gas, starting generators, though some may be exempt depending on maps/scripts)
VS Map Generation is locked to the fastest path, though RARELY will you see it use the longer route, however certain maps will use RNG no matter what gamemode it is (Ex. Dark Carnival Chapter 4, Parish Chapter 3)
Map RNG also applies to what Difficulty the match is on (VS is locked to Normal, even on Realism mode) (PERSONAL THOUGHT, PROBABLY NOT LEGIT, JUST FROM OBSERVATION)
- I have almost 2k hours on Steam and have played each campaign numerous times in many different gamemodes.
I watched like 3 l4d videos a few days ago and now this shit is literally every other video on my feed.
I absolutely had an identity crisis thinking they're in the same spots and paths for the campaign and versus like I didn't even know they're some removed.
I think I remember in L4D1 versus mode the “mini safe room” on Dead Air still has the door.
Very nice video! Keep it up!
Really well made video
i laughed so hard when coach did jump and say im dow- and dead. It's so funny
underrated channel
in the last stand update, on versus, u can't idle in the safe room forever anymore (door will open automatically). and so, gone are the days where if u were losing, u could dupe pistols in the safe room until the server lags too hard and fall apart
well thats a good thing
That’s always been how it worked. The saferoom opens after 60s in Versus ever since the game was released. It’s not new.
@@joao34386 now that i think about it, it was that you could re close the saferoom door after opening it
Fallen Survivor is found in versus. I played it yesterday and he was definitely there
The Fallen Survivor can be found in the Passing in versus but that's the only time I've seen one
I was vibing the entire vid with the BGM
