Feminism in Black & White

When the #feminist movement took root in America in the 1970s, #africanamerican women and their needs were largely left out. In 1971, #tonimorrison wrote an essay for the New York Times Magazine called "What the Black Woman Thinks About Women's Lib." It pointed to the long standing antipathy Black women had to the idea that White women needed liberation. This video looks in depth at this history, focusing on how it played out at NASA in Alabama.
