The F1 purists (bless them) will forever criticize this series for being overly dramatic and misleading etc.
But you can't ignore the truth of how important and beneficial the series has been for the sport. I used to watch Schumacher and Hakkinen battle when I was a kid and at some point when going through high school and eventually college I stopped and forgot about the sport.
This series re ignited my passion for F1 and I didn't miss a single session of the '22 season. Looking forward to 2023.
i think the over dramatic reality tv aspects have been toned down over the last few seasons

Drive To Survive helped me convince my now fiancé to watch F1. Which in turn makes this show a bit of a must watch for us! 🇨🇦
As a person that manages fire safety at the AusGP im so glad I get be inside the paddock and mingle with the drivers and teams. Some of the drivers are very nice and glad to have a cheeky photo 😉

I’ve been watching F1 since 2010 but I am as well a massive hockey fan since birth since I’m Canadian, from seeing what Netflix has done to F1 I can strongly start to believe the same thing would happen to the NHL if they had their own series like Drive to survive.

Good info Kym. I have been a fan since the sixties. So I go back to the old school cars and drivers. When cars were cars and not computers. I did not need any extra encouragement to become a fan. I've been a fan before it was popular here in the US. I had to get my information on the secondary basis. Because they did not broadcast much of it over here. I'm glad to see that it has grown so much and is popular here in the USA. Looking forward to the new season. Stay safe, stay healthy, cheers mate.

Drive to Survive is a Formula One reality show for people that don't watch F1. The amount of things they omit or just get straight up wrong is staggering.

This was great, I saw you in Bahrain last year looking at that Mercedes prototype I wanted to say hello but you seemed busy. I just wonder how much walking you do because in Bahrain I did plenty.

Kym is on Sky sports more than some of the presenters! Especially Ted's notebook. The DTS storylines are very contrived faction and designed for short attention spans.

Many years ago, as in Williams Renault being unstoppable and Nigel Mansell era, I watched F1 quite a lot but drifted away from it. Then DTS came along and I binge watched the first season, that led to finding F1TV and subscribing to it. Then I saw some guy named Kym Illman had a UA-cam channel that was pretty interesting. Pretty sure I haven't missed a Race in 3 years.

so where we are, DTS is easier to follow than say watching live as most folk will have Netflix at £5 per month where watching racing live is like £33 per month! no wonder its popular!

I am from Texas and nobody knew about f1 before dts now most people at my workplace know …the only bad part is tickets are very expensive and there are too many people on the track .. not as enjoyable as 2016 2018 times

It's funny to me how older fans huff and puff about the "drama" when they've been creating their own drama on Facebook and Twitter long before the first season of DTS was released. I remember seeing how hateful "fans" were toward Seb during his RBR days. And the constant bickering about Hamilton and calling him all sorts of names. And for what? Because they (and their team) were at the top of their games and winning a lot? So silly.
Thanks DTS tickets are now too expensive for the average true F1 fans
