I have had a night in the pub with him down at the Margaret River Surf comp in Western Australia. He also used to live close to me in the Perth Hills and met him on the Kalamunda MTB trials too. Like most true Aussies, what you see is what you get, likable, funny and whip-smart.
Not trying to downplay the athleticism required but there's a difference between the lateral Gs that F1 drivers experience vs. the vertical Gs pilots experience. Arguably vertical Gs are more difficult to deal with.

I’m probably biased but all of the drivers from the 2022 season are likeable. The camaraderie, support and general goofiness they show one another is what makes them great to watch
if logan performs well over the next few years (providing he sticks around for another), he'll likely be the one americans will support. hes a good driver and good on camera.

I would say Louis Hamilton in the Mercedes was the face but more and more it is Max Verstappen in Red Bull. This year Max had a car superior to the Mercedes.
Lewis Hamilton is the current face of F1, Danny was one of the background faces until recently, hopefully he can revive his career. Before Hamilton it was Schumacher and before him Senna.

If Verstappen leaves than the Dutch fans will leave with him. The same goes for Italians and Ferrari. The Japanese love F1 unconditionally.

He's a great. Overwhelmed with his popularity and he's not wrong when he said his looks helped make the sport popular. I've always liked F1 and despise NASCAR, for some reason F1 never caught on. Not enough racers or races.
Ive been an f1 fan for 40 years... since i was a ten year old girl... ive been to a number of races... as a fan... i like montreal. Its got all the bells and whistles of amerucan cities, but this french Canadian , european feel. Also the track is on its own island...so that island basically become a mini formula one city. Races i particularly like for excitement, watching the drivers ... monza is up there. I loved hungaroring... magny cours is a great one too. More recently... abu dhabi is a blast to watch. Its hard... for so long there was a very set list of racetracks and countries... then...it was a unique thrill to hear a new track or new country was coming in... then, it went wild...we were adding track upon track.. so of course some were dropped...and thats natural... but there are races and tracks i miss seeing. I still cant believe we dont have a Finnish grand prix race. With 9 f1 drivers over the years... cmon... finland deserves to be on the calendar... we have a few races with zero driver representation ever in the sport...

Danny Ric's interview on Top Gear way back when was what got me to look into F1. His career stats don't begin to paint a fair picture of how great a driver he is, or what he's done for the sport as a whole.
05:11 the look on his face tells me he suddenly remembered he won't be one of 20 drivers next season. Quite sad. People forget sometimes that he was essentially the main protagonist of DTS season 1 and hence is responsible for the explosion of formula1 popularity more than any other driver on the grid.
Let's not forget that what he did in season one was career suicide. Nicely demonstrated by him jumping off a cliff (sort of anyway). The reason he is gone from the grid now is that he couldn't handle that Red Bull had a better driver in Verstappen.
I feel like even if he isn't a regular driver now he'll just be doing netflix promos as long as that show is going, he was always the standout from Drive to Survive, it's going to be interesting on who they will focus on for the 2023 season now that he's just a reserve.
Single handily made me fall in love with the sport and to watch it without him is certainly going to be an experience, but I'm happy he is finally taking a break after all the pain from last season. Always will be a honey badger fan!

Danny Ric's interview on Top Gear way back when was what got me to look into F1.
His career stats don't begin to paint a fair picture of how great a driver he is, or what he's done for the sport as a whole.
05:11 the look on his face tells me he suddenly remembered he won't be one of 20 drivers next season. Quite sad. People forget sometimes that he was essentially the main protagonist of DTS season 1 and hence is responsible for the explosion of formula1 popularity more than any other driver on the grid.
Don’t worry, he will be back with vengeance.
Let's not forget that what he did in season one was career suicide. Nicely demonstrated by him jumping off a cliff (sort of anyway).
The reason he is gone from the grid now is that he couldn't handle that Red Bull had a better driver in Verstappen.
I am going to miss him this season.
I feel like even if he isn't a regular driver now he'll just be doing netflix promos as long as that show is going, he was always the standout from Drive to Survive, it's going to be interesting on who they will focus on for the 2023 season now that he's just a reserve.
Hopefully he'll be back next year.
