faulty vacuum pump on Ford f250 7.3 l diesel.. teardown for curiosity

I traded recently for this 1994 Ford F250 Diesel 4x4 - has about 115,000 miles on it. The previous owner working on the brakes had replaced the brake booster, but still had stiff brakes.... the problem is/was the Vacuum pump.
-- I removed the vacuum line while engine running ... and the pump was not producing any vacuum... (also was not locked up, and not making strange noises).
-- I removed the vacuum pump ... and just because I am curious I tore it apart to see what the malfunction was... there was a tear in the diaphram ... (went to town today, 3 parts stores... nothing in stock)..

The cam and plunger were totally shot on mine..
