If you are having ablation very important to have a good dr and ask if he or she gives pain meds before procedure. I had one 9 days ago left side of neck going back in 5 days for right side. It can take up to 14 days for pain to stop after ablation the nerves have to die. It is worth it. I give God all the credit for a good dr whom is very caring and gentle.

I had this procedure done yesterday it’s about the same pain as having a Facet Blocker my doctor only did the right side I’ll go back next week to have the left side done the most advise I can give is to not think about any pain but to think positive thoughts and that you’ll having this done to relieve yourself of your current condition.
A lil more painful than the steroid injections. Thankfully they give me 2 weeks between each side. It’s longer too. Takes over 2 minutes to burn the nerve. Just had mine done for 2nd time.

Im having procedure done. I was told it is a 3 part series. My first one seemed to be going ok but at the end, i was crying and gripping the table so hard because of the pain. Im going in later today for my second one (maybe) but im scared to death due to all the pain i was in from the first time. If this extreme pain is normal, i cant even imagine cauterizing my nerves or the pain that it will cause. Id like my life back but damn, the pain is so severe.
For insurance I had to do two tests where I went in and they inserted the needles by looking at an x-ray and two were the nerves are and injecting them with pain reliever and the first test lasted 5 days it was wonderful and the second one three days and 2 days ago I had the radio ablation I just have tenderness in my lower back which should fade away and about 2 to 3 weeks it wasn't painful at all and I wasn't awake for any of them

I still can't do things from a bent position but a little relief is better than none. I am doing much better so I am keeping up with back strengthening exercises to hopefully get stronger. I would recommend it.
I had the procedure done last week on both sides of my neck. The doctor did not give me anything to relax me or for pain before inserting the needles. Needless to say I was crying because it hurt extremely bad. He finally just before the ablation gave me lidocaine for the pain. Well, I was in extreme pain for more than 30 minutes solid. I don’t know if I will ever have it done again unless they give me before hand. I could have done the anesthesia but you still feel the needles and the pain because they don’t want you completely under and they don’t numb you at all. So still feel everything.

I had the lower left side done in November 2023 and the lower right side done in March 2024, with great results. I hope, my middle back and my neck are next. I was sent for physical therapy, for them, first. It strengthens the muscles, but does nothing for disc pain.
I have lower back pain not due to any injury. I have done this 3x about 12 months apart it is only temp but you can't get this done before 6months of the last procedure .Due to the level of pain I was having daily everyday ,every night it was the Best decision I could have done or afford thanks to insurance I wish it was permanent. I was told I can maybe get it dont about 8x then after it may not work😢 but over all after the procedure you will feel pain because of the process of the procedure after that you can be lucky and be that patient who get long term relief OR you may be that patient who gets very short term relief OR No relief at All. You will not know until it's done . I was the lucky one it last about 1 year until the pain return,but on my 3rd round it last about 8months before the return.

Question...i have to get a fusion no matter what.l4l5s1... my pain trigger went i start moving . If they burned the nerves. I know the pain will come back sometime again .Butt it will be the same paint like before?that went i don't move doesn't bother me. Or it's going to b a permanent pain. That i have to get the nerves burned again.? The reason its i need to try to get a better position at my job now before i get the fusion. My insurance is requiring my pain doctor to make me go through 4 faucet joint injections before my RFA. 2 on the right and 2 on the left. So a simple xray did not satisfy the governing force of my insurance to determine that I can have the ablation.
I've had facet injections done & didn't help me at all, I have osteoarthritis, disc disease, neuropathy not diabetes. Numbness, tingling, burning, itching, severe neck pain, scalp pain, blurry vision, burning mouth syndrome, I have tried so many medications nothing helps, toradol shots 2 time's a month, slurred speech, light headed, spinning symptoms, weakness, my left temple hurts more everyday, so I'm taking my chances to drive to Columbia Missouri to see a doctor to hopefully get my nerves burned I need help bad it's too hard to live like this I'm nauseous everyday, I want a solution & help more than anything.
You might want to have a CT melodramatic by a neurologist office and see if you have a CSF leak. (Spinal fluid leak) look up the symptoms, just a thought. Good Luck !
Sorry for my poor english, the pain is my from my neck to head and the doctor said i have a "occipital nerve" pain (I use gg translate and according to Vietnamese that is the name of my pain). This information is wrong. The probe uses radiofrequency energy not emission of electrons. The radiofrequency creates oscillation of ions within the tissues which as a consequence creates frictional heat. The temperature being measured is primarily to monitor the induced heat in the tissue, not to monitor the average kinetic energy of particles in the probe.

It can and does. My treatment lasted 12 months the first time and 8 the second time.

No one explains the "whys" of how the surgery fails--doesn't work. It is surgery! I still have pain FROM the surgery 8 wks afterwards.
