The average woman buys shoes, we buy books and in my case, art supplies as well.

I think it's beautiful that you can look at your shelf and discover new stories you haven't yet experienced yet. It's like you have an entire shelf of worlds not yet conquered. It's awesome. Wish I had an income.

I feel like im the only person who actually LOVES lending people books. As long as i trust them and let them know how careful i want them to be (it depends bc sometimes my books are so old/in such bad shape it doesnt even matter anymore) then i'm like, fuck yeah, let me give you the joy of reading. Please read my books so then you can love them and we can talk about them and cry together and life will be great.

When I had books I used to lend them out all the time too, mostly cause I want people to read the same books I am and talk about them with me. But now I'm poor and use the library lol.
I'm just done because someone has had one of my favourite books for like, six months and keeps forgetting to give it back

I also don't read in public, i need to read in peace where i can cry and laugh by myself :) but I was at a friend's house and we were watching Rent at the end I was balling in front of all of my friends and our parents (I'm pretty sure they thought I was crazy)
We were all crying, so I guess we are all crazy :)

once again Katytastic explodes with unbridled enthusiasm for reading and for book ownership. She is always funny, quite a good actress, and seriously answers a lot, about eleven, questions any reader could and should ask himself/herself. For the insight, for the entertainment her short clip is worth your time.
HOW ARE ALL OF YOUR BOOKS THE SAME SIZE
She said in another video (I can't remember which one) that hardbacks tend to have just two main standard sizes (and she has a lot of hardbacks), whilst paperbacks don't really have any standards so are all over the place (she points out a top shelf of paperbacks in the video this was in where you can see all the mismatch torture).
+Chantelle Riches I like how my paperbacks are uneven, gives it that library feel. Plus, paperbacks are much cheaper (coming from a reader who cant afford hard bounds)

Hey Katy! There's a Mexican Booktuber called Clau Reads Books, she has a link to download a file that contains a Dust Jacket for Shatter Me with the new cover. You just have to take it to a print and get the size you want. The result looks like you had bought it in Hardcover with the pretty cover originaly.
I can stop looking at your top shelf, its so satisfying to see all those matching series' together and they're all hardback and the same size and it just makes me so happy :')

I just recently stopped lending from my home library. I used to happily share my books and even had borrower cards so I knew who had what book, but I never got them back or they were damaged in some way. I now direct people to the public library, which is no lie incredible.

I totally understand the marathon book reading thing,I do the same.and it has its own share of advantages:
1:u don't forget what happend in the previous book
2:u don't have to wait for the sequel to come out,because u already have it with you.as soon as u are done with d book you can jump to the sequel (saves so much pain especially if the previous book has a cliffhanger)
3:u don't go nuts waiting for the next book to come out
I really hate when the US and UK have different book covers for different series, Cassandra Clare's books have the same covers in the US and UK(but they are of different height)but Rick Riordan's books have totally different covers in the UK and most of them are a disaster!!! DX (Note: The first 3 PJO books I have are the UK editions and the last two are US editions! and with HoO I have the first 4 with the US covers and the last one is the UK cover! and with Kane Chronicles, I have 1 with the UK cover and the other 2 with the US covers #TheStruggle)
Also my HP collection is a similar mess too and I cant decide which editions to get!!!

I love how you put emotion into your videos, it makes them funnier and more awesome. Anyway, some books I recommend are "Micheal Vey" and "The Girl at Midnight (comes out in 2015)". Micheal Vey isn't my fave series, but it is a very good book and its pretty much about a boy with the ability to shoot lightning out of his finger tips. Its pretty awesome. Then there's The Girl at Midnight and I haven't read the book but on 'goodreads' it says that this book is for people that love Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series. And I heard in your "Best Books of 2014" that the Mortal Instruments was one of your top books so hope you like these books.

A few years ago, after a very bad experience with loaning out a book, I decided to only let people I trust with my life even touch them. I rarely let people borrow them, but when I do, they have to sign this contract I made that states that if they do ruin my book, they have to buy me a new one that looks identical to the one they took. it might be a bit too much, but it does come in handy.

No I Do NOT Lend Out my Books... ( Lesson Learned) I Hate Unmatching covers ( Why Do these Book ppls feel the need to screw with us...) & I read at home 99% of the time, I like the confines of my walls Only to see my feels..
I lend mine out. I also donate and trade in a lot of books. Books are meant to be loved by the masses and they're not doing that just sitting on a shelf. Like the tree in the forest, where's the story if there's no one to read it. I did have one person whose kid destroyed one of my books but she replaced it so it wasn't an issue. :)

Hahaha! Yes, you can use your income how you damn well please :) Might have forgotten that there was a bit of controversy about how many books ppl own when I made this up. I have a whole bookshelf + of books I haven't read and that's ok because it gives me options when I want to read.

I didn't realise when I first picked up Throne of Glass that it wasn't a trilogy. I'd seen everyone excited about Heir of Fire, so i just assumed that was the last one so I planned to marathon all three. Then i realised it's actually a six part series. Now i'm hooked and I can't believe i'm going to have to wait for more! (although I am secretly happy because I love it and don't want it to end)
HAHAHA the Gilmore Girls marathoning part. Totally what I end up doing even before it was on Netflix. But now Netflix has saved me the time of switching discs on DVDs.

I love this tag! It's pretty accurate. :) I feel for you on the Shatter Me issue. Another annoying cover change is what they did to the Across The Universe covers. That one is just so ridiculous. Also for the borrowing question, I said something similar about the bad experiences thing and the person got really offended. Non-book people just don't get it. :/

Have you ever finished a book series that you love so much that you just think nothing else can ever beat this and you just end up rereading the series non-stop in a never ending loop and then you get really depressed when you realise that you haven't read a new book in so long and when you do read a new one and that is also amazing you're like why was i so hung up on this other book when i could have been reading new books like no what

I used to lend out my books, but not anymore, because people either don't give me the book back or they destroy it. But people still keep asking me to borrow my books and sometimes I just can't say no. It's frustrating. Btw, great book tag. :)

I didn't buy the Succession duology by Scott Westerfeld today when I saw it in the bookstore because, despite wanting to own them, the covers didn't match - the styles were the same, but one was matte and one was shiny. Sooooo I feel you on that. :P

Question 10 is my struggle right now! Since discovering the booktube community and watching reviews that yourself, Christine, Jesse, or Ariel post, I am interested in reading SO MANY of the titles! Thank god for Book Outlet and Amazon/Barnes and Noble deals, or I'd go bankrupt. No wait, I've nearly done so anyway... ALL THE BOOKS! Now, I need more shelves!

I lent my Vladimir Tod: 11th Grade Burns books to one of my friends back in 7th grade and I never saw it again. I had to replace it, but luckily they had it for one of those scholastic sales at my middle school so it was only a few bucks to replace. I wouldn't mind lending out books still, because most of my friends now aren't avid readers and the ones that are, they have their own collection at home so...yeah.
"I will buy the books, if it pleases me!!" haha.
my momma had issues with people borrowing her books and not returning them, she did two things, she enlisted my giant of a father to say no every time and then she moved to the country, about 30 minutes away from small town USA and only best friends know how to get there...if they can afford the gas

I lent some books to a friend last year. We were messaging each other about what books we had read or were reading and I said I'd lend her two of my books so as I and my dad were going out to get dinner, I dropped the books off at her house :D
Just binge watched so many of your videos and subscribed, was planning on continuing reading wuthering heights, but I'm finding it so hard to get into it and keep track of the plot 🙄😳
