Thanks for doing the tag!! You're just so awesome I can't stand it >_< I just got The Name of the Wind the other day because I suck at not buying books! I really can't wait to read it, but damn is it hella long! "Here in LA we get like one day of rain. And that's winter." Lol. Damn, why do I not live there? Loved all your answers! You mentioned a lot of series which I have the first books to and now I'm so excited to start them! XD
HEY BAE HEY! I'm just gonna shout that out at every attractive male I see! COFFEE FOR KAT! THIS TAG WAS PERFECT AND SO WERE YOUT ANSWERS! You have 2 months before Outlander comes back. TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
You are so right about the Infernal Devices being like that. Also, the Percy Jackson series is just so great. I read it two-ish years ago I think, and I flew through it! It is one of the best middle grade series out there!
I agree with so many of your choices! I haven't jumped on the Outlander bandwagon yet either, but I keep picking it up and putting it back down every time I go to the bookstore.
The Name of the Wind is hard to get into in the first couple of chapters, but once you're in farther, you won't be able to put it down. Back when I read it the first time, it took me two weeks to read to the 4th chapter, but then I finished the rest of the book in a day. The beginning doesn't make a ton sense until you read farther on.
I totally understand you about the name of the wind. A friend of mine wouldn't stop talking about it for months after reading it and when I first started reading it it started quite slow and not nearly as amazing as he said But once you get over the 8 chapters of frame story it starts picking up really quickly and it's actually fantastic.
The book for "The perfect blend" is such and obvious one... It's basically the definition of Clockwork Princess! I wasn't surprised when you said it was your choice, but I jumped a little bit, because I love The Infernal Devices sooooo much!
I looked at the questions in the description before watching the video, and the moment I saw the last question, I thought of The Infernal Devices, so when you showed TID for the last question, my heart shattered again because of that damn epilogue. Definitely bittersweet.
I can image you creating this kind of tag!!! Starbucks is so amazing!!! I swear it is like heaven!!! I may just have to do this tag!!! Lol best tag ever Kat!!!😂😂😂
For the Black Coffee question, it's The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy for me. It's taking me SO LONG to get through it. Pushing myself is an understatement. There are things I like about the story but the things I don't like seriously outweigh the likes. But I'm determined to finish it. You're totally right about Percy Jackson, though. I l really liked it. Guess that means I should read The Heroes of Olympus Series too?
Starlight was better than Smoke and Bone, yeah. I'm on Monsters right now and they are just equally hard to get through for me. I can't wait to be done with it. Definitely unhaul material.
I love Jennifer L. Armentrout! You should totally read the Covenant series! It has a Vampire Academy feel to it at the beginning and I absolutely love it! :)
Interesting choices for this tag. I don't drink coffee, or even tea, but this tag is perfect for you. I'm excited to read the Mara Dyer trilogy this year.
wallflowerstories I always thought she looks like the secret twin of Alyson Hannigan (aka Lilly from "How I met your mother", tbh. But I can sort of see where you're coming from :P
Definitely give The Name of the Wind another go. I had a hard time getting into it with the first 70 pages or so, but then it picked up and it really sucked me in. I am now halfway through and I am enjoying it!
I agree with you on The Retribution of Mara Dyer, it was good but not as great as it could have been. Evolution was AMAZING so I had higher hopes than what it ended up being.
I think the first half of Retribution got my hopes even more up than Evolution and then the big reveal of the story happened and it pretty much went rapidly downhill for me from this point on. :( SO sad it had so much potential.
Omg I totally predicted that you were gonna pick TID for the last question. My favorite series ever for sure. In my opinion, Cassandra Clare is extremely good at nailing those finales. Clockwork Princess, City of Glass (I'm saying this since it was the finale to the first trilogy), and City of Heavenly Fire were all really amazing in my opinion.
Ohmygoodness I just had a feeling Cassandra Clare would make an appearance. Also I just read "City of Fallen Angels" and I am DYING because of the cliffie. And I wanna read City of Lost Souls so badly but I need to sleep!! Also I don't have City of Heavenly Fire this is such a problem. I cannot deal.
This tag looks so fun! Harry Potter is really good to read around the winter, it gives you that warm fuzzy feeling on the inside when it's freezing outside
Hi Kat! :) This is just a suggestion but can you please do a hardcover or paperback video? Pretty please? I mean you discuss about what you prefer more, paperback or hardbacks and their advantages and disadvantages. I'm a book collector and I am really torn between the option of paperback or hardback.
Tbh, I've been in a reading slump for months now!! I didn't even feel like watching UA-cam videos :( But after watching this i'm ready to pick up where I left off and drink more coffee while doing it !
you live in LA? How did I not know that before. That's cool. My sister just went to new York from the UK, she was so excited. I agree with harry potter for winter, I'm slowly collecting them and want to read them again from the beginning
I also find The Name of the Wind to be intimidating. I haven't tried to read it yet though. Too scared, lol. I definitely need to pick up the Percy Jackson series. Have not read them yet and I'm just now making my way through HP for the first time.
Hey bae haaayy! Hahaha! This tag was MADE for you. I'm currently reading Outlander, you should read it with me! ;) I didn't really think about it before, but yeah Clockwork Princess is the only series finale I can think of at the moment that was really satisfying. It had something for everyone, but I think it was really that it was a prequel to an already established series that worked so well for me - getting to see all the little things come together that you already knew about in the 'future.' I wish more series were like that! Fun tag, and great answers.
Kat, please read the Covenant Novels by Jennifer L. Armentrout! They are amazing and wonderful and is definitely a favorite of mine. I actually got introduced to Jennifer L. Armentrout through this series and it is so wonderful and satisfying.
I really need to read the Infernal Devices Trilogy. Like.. now. With a cup of coffee near me, obviously. Very nice video, by the way, that was really fun! :)
You need to read Outlander! You just need to do it - it's just so..... something. I can't even find words to explain to you what you are missing out on if you don't dive into that series. I highly recommend the audiobooks - the narrator is very good and I think if you have time to listen they help you get into the series.
I didn't expect to enjoy this video because I hate coffee but hey, I clicked the like button and I'm commenting so I obviously lived it. Another great one Kat.
It was hard for me to start Name of the Wind, but after fifty pages, when he starts telling his history, it got sooo much better. However, I'm going to wait for book three to come out before I continue with the series. I have a feeling that I will want to know the ending as soon as I finish the second book.
I was also disappointed with The Retribution of Mara Dyer. I really only liked Jamie in the book. Maybe because Noah was barely in it, who knows. But omg for Indie authors everyone should check out A Matter of Fate by Heather Lyons and that series. It is so amazing!! It was one of my favorite series I read in 2014. It has magic and a love triangle that isn't horrible but makes you want to cry. Ahh I just love it!
Alright, I really despise self-promotion, but I'm a young girl who just started a UA-cam channel about my passion of books! Katytastic is my role model and I'm so happy that I finally worked up the courage to start a channel!
The infernal devices series is just the best thing everrrrrr i can't wait for the last hours triology which will be about the generation right after will tessa and jem.. 3 Cassie mentioned that'll be more heartwrenching than TID .. God take the wheel
i think it's great, i'm currently reading the last book and having much fun with it. A lot of people say the last book is bad but from what i've read so far i don't agree. Just read them and get your own opinion on them because i love them and i was also unsure about it before i started it.
Definitely check it out. Even the people who say the last book is bad usually like the first two quite a bit. I liked all three, tbh, so check them out! :)
You have GOT to read the name of the wind. It's one of the best books I've ever read and I've reread it 5 times and every time i read it it's just as wonderful. i agree that the beginning is a bit hard mainly because it's a bit slow and uneventful but once you get to the actual story it is AMAZING!!!! The world is fantastic, very detailed. And the magical elements of the book are explained so logically that you almost believe you could do the magic if you tried. It's a bit like an adult version of harry potter. the difference is it's a lot heavier and philosophical.
I completely agree with you about The Retribution of Mara Dyer i was so disappointed with the end and it used to be one of my favourite series. It feels like Requiem by Lauren Oliver all over again. -.-
For me 1 The infernal devices, read book one but couldn't get into the second. I will get back to it though. 2 Wrinkle in time quintet - I have read three so far the next is many waters the fourth book. 3 Harry Potter - obviously. 4 The unseemly education of Anne Merchant ... oh goodness , Dark, mysterious , supernatural and down right spooky. Edge of your seat yet you CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN - Kind of book. 5 Divergent. . This series is everywhere I turn. 6 I can't remember this option... 7 The fault in our stars , It didn't live up to the reviews and reactions I heard about it. I heard so much about the book that my expectations were unexpectedly high. 8 Oliver twist. Definitely has it's ups and down.
self published is kinda like when a musician is on MySpace or releases there own mixtape. traditional is like a publishing house releases a book for the author.
Thanks for doing the tag!! You're just so awesome I can't stand it >_<

Loved all your answers! You mentioned a lot of series which I have the first books to and now I'm so excited to start them! XD
as soon as i saw that ben tagged you in this i was like OHP KAT IS GONNA BE ALLLLLLLLL OVER THIS TAG
great video :)
Sometimes I wish I had a channel, just so I could do these tags.
I know how you feel :c
hmmm....I'm gonna venture a guess and say that you do have a channel.
Do it! Its never to late to join the Booktube community it's such a beautiful experience ! :D
You should do it!! It's so much fun!!
Do it!!! XD
Before BookTube I had never even heard of Jennifer L. Armentrout. Now she is everywhere I turn!
omg same!
Always great to see a new Kat video :)
Still waiting for that bookshelf tour, though...
Totally agree, The Infernal Devices series is definitely satisfying and ahhh yes Will Herondale *swoon*
I feel like the only person who grew up with Percy Jackson books rather than Harry Potter books
I grew up with both, and I still read them, but they are both my favorites
+Lily R I totally did too. I was too young to have grown up with Harry Potter, but I was and still am obsessed with Percy Jackson
+Lily R I grew up with Percy Jackson and I am just now starting harry potter
+Jessica Golden really? me too, I'm in the middle of the Harry Potter series
yeah i just startedd im on the second book!
"You bet your sweet ass I'm gonna do this tag!" Instantly subscribed
I agree with you Kat!! Retribution was so disappointing.
I totally understand you about the name of the wind.
A friend of mine wouldn't stop talking about it for months after reading it and when I first started reading it it started quite slow and not nearly as amazing as he said
But once you get over the 8 chapters of frame story it starts picking up really quickly and it's actually fantastic.
wow, these questions are amazing! I admire people who can come up with these tags
The bookshelves are so pretty!
The book for "The perfect blend" is such and obvious one... It's basically the definition of Clockwork Princess! I wasn't surprised when you said it was your choice, but I jumped a little bit, because I love The Infernal Devices sooooo much!
I really want to start a booktube soon just so I can do these amazing tags and talk about books
Yea Lux series. I had no idea it was self published. That is awesome
I totally agree for DOSAB ...I wanted to like it but I couldn't
Elena P I really did too. But it's difficult for me to.
I read the hole series and I am not very pleased with it..
Starlight was better than Smoke and Bone, yeah. I'm on Monsters right now and they are just equally hard to get through for me. I can't wait to be done with it. Definitely unhaul material.
So obviously it's only fitting that I'm drinking coffee while watching this video.
Yep. Same.
StrangerInBooks Good job :)
me too
I have the exact same feelings about The Name of the Wind (and I also need to try to read it again soon). You are not alone!
You need to read the name of the wind is just AMAZING, great video :)
I love Jennifer L. Armentrout! You should totally read the Covenant series! It has a Vampire Academy feel to it at the beginning and I absolutely love it! :)
YES Read Outlander it's just the best book ever!!! I would love to see a review of it by you.
Oh my this looks great ! Loved all your answers
Interesting choices for this tag. I don't drink coffee, or even tea, but this tag is perfect for you. I'm excited to read the Mara Dyer trilogy this year.
I JUST REALIZED HOW MUCH YOU LOOK LIKE NATALIE DORMER HERE (if you dont watch game of thrones or dont know who this is look her up, shes gorgeous).
Kind of ueah
wallflowerstories I always thought she looks like the secret twin of Alyson Hannigan (aka Lilly from "How I met your mother", tbh. But I can sort of see where you're coming from :P
lol she watch game of thrones, and have read the first book of it I think
+thinkingofyou67 YES THAT'S WHAT I THINK (and also Willow from Buffy The Vampire Slayer)
I read the Percy Jackson series when I was in university and it's possibly one of my favourit ya book series! x
Definitely give The Name of the Wind another go. I had a hard time getting into it with the first 70 pages or so, but then it picked up and it really sucked me in. I am now halfway through and I am enjoying it!
I know you're probably sick of hearing it but The Name of the Wind is great! You will fly through it! Great video!
I agree with you on The Retribution of Mara Dyer, it was good but not as great as it could have been. Evolution was AMAZING so I had higher hopes than what it ended up being.

I don't think I've ever heard of a tag better suited for Kat.
Coffee and books?!?!?! YES BEST TAG EVER
Those bloopers though :)
Love the video, as always :)
And I agree. William Herondale
Really liked this tag!
Surprised you didn't choose Daughter of Smoke and Bone for the perfect blend of bitter and sweet! I would've! :D
"We get one day of rain...and that's winter." Lol!
I knew you were going to say The Infernal Devices for the bittersweet category!!!!
DO A BEW RECOMMMENDATIONS VIDEO PLEASEEEEEE. LOVE YOUHH
William Herondale.
Word.
Ohmygoodness I just had a feeling Cassandra Clare would make an appearance. Also I just read "City of Fallen Angels" and I am DYING because of the cliffie. Kat! You have to read The Goddess Test books! They involve a lot of Greek mythology! READ THEM
Oh goodness I need to do this tag.
THE NAME OF THE WIND YAS
I also find The Name of the Wind to be intimidating. I haven't tried to read it yet though. Too scared, lol. I definitely need to pick up the Percy Jackson series. Have not read them yet and I'm just now making my way through HP for the first time.
I loved this! I did this tag as well it was so much fun!
The Name of the Wind is like the best thing ever.
Black coffee: Twilight. I can say I used to be one of those hard core fans xD
YOURE AWESOME
I love this tag
YES, Clockwork Princess was SOOO satisfying
Hey bae haaayy! Hahaha! This tag was MADE for you. yes, you need to read outlander, it took me a month to read though lol
This video was hilarious! You never cease to entertain me. :)

I WAS EXPECTING YOU TO HOLD UP DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE AT ONE POINT WOW KAT YOU SURPRISED ME TONIGHT.
I didn't expect to enjoy this video because I hate coffee but hey, I clicked the like button and I'm commenting so I obviously lived it. Another great one Kat.
For sure you should give Name of the wind a second try. It took me about half of the book to love it, so I'm with you saying its hard to get into
It was hard for me to start Name of the Wind, but after fifty pages, when he starts telling his history, it got sooo much better. However, I'm going to wait for book three to come out before I continue with the series. I have a feeling that I will want to know the ending as soon as I finish the second book.
This was the perfect tag for you !
I thought she was going to say: "Three of my favorite things in the world: Coffee, books, and Ben." LOL!
what a great tag!! loved the video :D
First time watching your videos, and from someone that has worked in a bookstore before... HOLY HARDCOVERS in the background! :-D
I was also disappointed with The Retribution of Mara Dyer. I really only liked Jamie in the book. Maybe because Noah was barely in it, who knows. i think it's great, i'm currently reading the last book and having much fun with it. A lot of people say the last book is bad but from what i've read so far i don't agree. Just read them and get your own opinion on them because i love them and i was also unsure about it before i started it.

I love it, and highly recommend.
Definitely check it out. Even the people who say the last book is bad usually like the first two quite a bit. I liked all three, tbh, so check them out! :)
Thanks everyone :))
It's a really cool tag tho!
Would you recommend reading the Infernal Devices or the Mortal Instruments first?
you need to read The name of the wind, its one of my favorite books ever
Kat, your side comments are on point 👌
Chapter 73 of Retribution was able to make up for the ehhh feelings I had for a lot of the book
The Infernal Devices... Yesyesyes!
If you haven't already I think you should ancient chronicles or darkness series because it's AMAZING it's written by michel Paver
Χαχαχα!!! Αυτές είναι ερωτήσεις και ΑΥΤΈΣ είναι απαντήσεις!!!
this tag is genius
Here in Scotland, we get a few more days of rain :(
In Canada, we get another month of snow
Loved this! :)
I love your channel so much! please know that you are amazing ^^
I completely agree with you about The Retribution of Mara Dyer i was so disappointed with the end and it used to be one of my favourite series. It feels like Requiem by Lauren Oliver all over again. -.-
This is life.
Hey kat! I just created a new tag called the starbucks book tag! I would love to see you do it!
Lol "My three favorite things. Coffie, Books, and the Internet. So you bet your sweet ass I'm gonna do this tag.
Basically any video that mentions books by Cassandra Clare is a video I like
Ur bookshelves *__*
For me
1 The infernal devices, read book one but couldn't get into the second.
Definitely has it's ups and down.
what do you mean by self-published and traditionally published?
self published is kinda like when a musician is on MySpace or releases there own mixtape. traditional is like a publishing house releases a book for the author.
