I must admit, I'm really turned off by Tesla letting brand new reservation holders skip ahead of reservations holders from over 4 years ago just with referral credits.
It's because underneath it all, they don't have the buyers they say.
Tesla's policies and procedures are THE WORST. They're such an awful company. Their cars are cool, but the company sucks.
Fam you can’t be mad at that. They brung in more money to Tesla than you did., think about those credits. It’s a business at the end of the day. Don’t hate, money talks! We know that
@@HDHQDIRECT Not for 120K, no.
@@DiasSaid99Think about it... If They had a bunch of paying customers ready to go... They wouldn't need to come up with redeeming credit programs.
"This is slimy, here's my 30k points"
Basically 😂
FWIW I love watching your videos! One of the most genuine, real world testing and feedback Tesla channels out there!
Slimy business practices happen because people accept it and go along with it.
Congrats on getting it! Whether slimy by Tesla or not, you played your cards well, and you’re going to get an awesome truck. Very cool!
Used your referral code on new Model Y. Picked up on Feb 14. Have watched you for years, keep up the great work.
Thank you so much and enjoy your new Model Y!
I actually cancelled my order when I got the prompt to order the foundation series.
Because I think it's BS that they are taking advantage of early pre-order holders, by charging them 20,000 extra, and not telling customers what the wait time may be if they don't' order the foundation series or at least ensuring them that they'll still have an early spot in line if they decline the foundation series. It's super slimy. I pre-ordered the truck immediately when it was announced, and had a pretty good spot in line. I've been talking it up for years and as a thank you, I'm allowed to pay 20,000 more? lol uh thanks tesla but no thanks.
Also yeah, I was kind of put off that I've been seeing people claiming they had order numbers 10s of thousands of order numbers higher than my order position that are ordering the same make and model as me that already have delivery. It's kind of bs.
I agree 100% on the cybertruck v2 note. Cybertrucks are going to depreciate rapidly when v2 comes out with better battery tech. So charging you 20k on top of that? I was willing to eat some depreciation but uh no, at some point I had to take Elon's d*** out of my mouth and buy a different car.
bang on
It's probably the greatest automotive bait and switch ever.
Legit Ive been saying this since 2019, Tesla has a track record of doing things like this, I am not surprised whatsoever.
If you don't order the founders series, does tesla cancel your reservation? Or do you wait in line for the non founders trim?
Really smart move by Tesla. Tesla knows that content creators covering Tesla have enough referral points to jump the line which will also create additional advertisements paid by google.
I'm very curious to see how the CT handles and holds up with the atrocious Michigan roads. That's awesome that you've got the CT coming, congrats!
Hope you get your CT asap!
That’s awesome you got a cyber truck!!! Slimy or not you got to the front of the line and you have no regrets
Congrats! Looking forward to your CT content with road trips and everyday use.
Looking forward to watching your road trip videos in the cybertruck
Congrats! Expensive, but probably worth it. Kudos to your hard work 💪
Please do a range test on county highways at or around 55-60mph. Thanks!
I asked people to do the same and they said that's too slow...
Either they want to get early trucks in the hands of the most loyal customers because you’ll tolerate issues more or they just want to reward people who have been contributing to the system.
...and another brilliant video. Thanks Chris.
Maybe FL is prioritized to avoid winter weather; that and flat terrain for a new vehicle that doesn't have locking differentials yet? Hope you get it for your trip!
Awesome news, Chris, but I agree that Tesla should just organise deliveries by waiting time. I would love to see you doing some towing videos that show the effect on range when you tow different things: big caravan/trailer, hybrid trailer/pop up caravan, camper trailer.
Thanks for your candor . It matters !
I cancelled my orders awhile back. Day 1 orders. No where near worth what they are asking for it.
💯
Yes, i wait for the 3rd version RWD Long Range. I hope for 60-80K Euros.
Time to Put your Order in for your Super special Ford YUGO! On Sale for 101K. Ready Next Week!
As a michigander too, I hope to see ya on the road!
You may not be the biggest, but you are definitely our favorite. 😂 I am glad you got to move up in the line a bit so you can help us make our decision. We have been “all in” since the beginning, and day one reservation holders, but I have some concerns (range while towing, etc.) that I am sure you will weigh in on once you get your truck. Thanks for all you do!
Congrats! Enjoy. Gonna gold on to my R1T for now. Maybe CT v2 will be more appealing to me
R1T is awesome. In excited to see R2!
Tesla treats you pitifully with this CT early reservation. Good luck Chris!
$12k of the extra $20k for the foundation series is paying for FSD. So for people who are intending to get FSD anyway and who want to get the truck quickly, it makes sense to get the foundation series. For everyone else, it is better to wait and pay less for the truck.
Wrt to the 30k credits, it's just marketing. They want to encourage more Tesla owners to recommend to their friends buy Teslas so they can get the credits to move up the Cybertruck queue, and it's also rewarding the Tesla owners who have worked hard in the past to procure a few extra sales for the company. I doubt that it will make a lot of difference, but it might got them a few extra sales. Currently, there might not be more than a few thousand people who have 30k credits. That's probably about one month's production at this stage. So, chances are, it won't be setting back the delivery times for everyone else by more than a month. And you can always move up the queue by getting a few referrals. It is your choice.
Watching this made me so thankfull for your content once again! This is not just content, you are literally fighting for us the costumers to be fairly treated by Tesla. There are alot of creepy stuff going on, but i too believe that if Tesla really buckle down and fix these things, we can all go back to unconditionally love this brand once again! Tesla needs to become Tesla again, and not just some big corp screwing it's costumers
Pre-ordered a Model s in 2021 for $92k, it was at $112k when I got it (same spec) in early 2022, and 1.5 years later you could get it for around $77k brand new....so when I go to trade in for Cybertruck they'll probably off $50k or less? Putting me 10-20k+ under water.....And now THIS?! My reservation # is coming up close (according to cybertruck forum). And this just turned me off worse than I already was.
You bought during crazy covid inflation. Not Tesla’s fault
@@ec4146 prices hadn't gone up from covid, that happened after I bought. Thanks for that insight though 🤪
In 2022 3-4 year old Toyota trucks and jeeps were going for more than the brand new ones of the same make/model. It was indeed a buying frenzy and sellers paradise. Buying a used Tesla now is not a bad move IMHO.
Yeah I had purchased in 2021 before price inflated heavily (again the price of my build went up over 20% after I purchased). But now you can buy it for $77kwhich is cheapest it's been in a long time xD@@alexp.6406
Dude, you 💣in'! I'm waitin' patiently for some Cybertruck videos!
Looking forward to seeing it in person here in Michigan!
Excited for a cybertruck in Michigan! Where are you planning to have the event? I might have to wait until you’re on the west side again.
Thanks Chris! Would be super fun to see a pond / water crossing. Cheers
Looking forward to your feedback on the Cybertruck body shell,
Conduct various contamination tests.
Congrats
I placed my order that same night in 2019. I don't mind waiting another 2 yrs for a better product. I still drive my original M3 from 2018 VIN 50k with 190k miles and works like a charm
Wise!
Wow, incredible, on original battery? what kind of battery degradation or loss of range have you observed over the almost 200K miles?
Recently took it to a Tesla service center for battery testing. It has about 8% degradation so far. Still feels like new@@alexp.6406
I also have a 50k VIN Model 3 (LR RWD) on original battery, but with only 80k miles. BMS says 100% rated range is 301 miles. I have not performed a proper range test nor bothered to recalibrate BMS though.
You have class, my friend.
I can't wait, I live in Brighton, MI and winter in Florida. One way or another I can't to see you on the road soon.
Do you think they implemented the 30k credit thing because not as many people who preorder are taking a foundation as they hoped? So now they are opening up to people who didn’t reserve and are willing to pay and not wait? I was offered a foundation model over a month ago and have decided to wait until the regular addition comes out. I’d be willing to bet many are doing this. I actually have decided to look at other Ev’s while I wait. I have purchased two teslas since I preordered the cybertruck. I’m with you I feel a bit screwed by the company.
I guess you are right. I want a RWD Long Range but not a foundation and certainly not one of the first batch or even the first version. I have to wait anyway for Tesla importing the CT to Europe.
It could be but they could also just keep going down the list. I doubt they've exhausted the entire reservation list but hey maybe they did. Many people wanted to spend 50 60 or 70K on a truck and it's just so much more than most thought, especially the foundation. I know they will sell as many foundation series as they can why wouldn't they
@@DirtyTesla I understand why they are doing it and if they can they might as well. When I originally ordered the duel motor was 60k and I was willing to pay the 80k that it ended up being. Even after I lost 30k on the MYP I bought. The pill was to tough to swallow at 92k and losing the $7500 federal tax credit and $3500 MA tax credit. That was a 50k swing. I could buy another Tesla with that money if I wait. I’ve decided to invest the 50k and wait for the non foundation. First time in my life that I have waited for anything. I will be looking forward to watching your channel and hear your thoughts, keep up the good work.
They haven’t, I’m an early reservation holder in AZ and still haven’t gotten an email for the foundation series.
@DirtyTesla there's no way! I paid $1k and configured mine back in December and I'm still waiting for my vin! Wth is going on? D:
Slimy is a pretty accurate description. For some people in lower population density areas that don't have online promotion of their referral codes, 30,000 points=pretty much impossible.
I've had an invite to configure a Foundation edition for over a month in Idaho but am waiting for non foundation pricing. I'm surprised you needed to exchange referral credits to accelerate this
Yo good on you for speakin your mind!
I would love to see all season tires on the Cybertruck just to see what range improvement can be had especially on a long road trip! Looking forward to you receiving the Cybertruck!
yeah I really wanna get some smaller road tires for it
Interesting points. Small channels are essential for companies when it comes to influence. So it's right that the system is attainable for smaller influencers/ UA-camrs etc.
Chris I just got V12. The hype is real. Massive improvements
Congrats Dirty Tesla. You are one of my must watch channels. It’s suck how Tesla treats their customers. But I am a Tesla fan. I like their technology.
Make it happen Captn!
I’m really hoping this helps ‘unlock’ Michigan. I was slightly ahead of your RN and order date (Dec 24). Maybe they’ll want to fill a train car to optimize logistics 😂. If not, looking forward to your event!
It almost sounded like it is going to be brought on a truck but we'll see what they do!
Great news mate, give it hell :-), looking forward to hearing your thoughts
We always knew Tesla delivery order is set by some weird internal algorythm, trying to optimize for some non-public metric, possibly influenced by attempts at marketing.
The system (and employees) are most likely trying to match customers to whatever supply chain issues they are having with Cybertruck parts... it probably makes perfect sense if you're an insider.
I live in Michigan and I just saw a cybertruck drive by yesterday!
Would love to see you driving around in this thing in Michigan.
We are near Ann Arbor. Please consider coming to a locally event so that we can see that brand new cyber truck. Everyone here is anxious to see it. Even for a brief time.
You can also buy premium connectivity and supercharger miles with the credit. My miles from the last referral program, expire in a year and I hope that I can extend them by buying some more with points.
You can extend them! It adds 6 months per claim, I've done it
Having had a Tesla in the family I can tell you straight up , they don't give two cents about regular customers .
Agree with everything you said! It's just "rough around the edges", there are just a LOT of edges 🤣
I appreciate your video and sharing the truth. I’m very upset - my cybertruck may never come at this rate when people are allowed to ’skip the line’. Feeling extremely disrespectful and my 7 years of Tesla enthusiasm has taken a major hit - I usually hold Tesla’s decisions in high regard, but this is disrespectful.
Hopefully you do receive the truck prior to your trip. I’m really interested in how it performs for you in the cold that could make or break my decision on if I keep my reservation. Keep up the good work I enjoy your truthful videos!!!
I believe they are doing this promo as a triage technique cause a lot of reservations are not for a 120K$ Cybertruck. So it’s wasting time to go through the whole reservation list. Maybe I’m wrong but Canada won’t get anything soon anyways. 😢
Would you rather get the Cybertruck or FSD V12 first?
Probably V12 lol
FSD 12 as long as it makes my normal daily driving LESS stressful, not more so as is the case with 11.4.9 😅
What part of Florida are you going.? If you happen to get the ct I’d love to see it
Heck yeah!! Can't wait to see it!! FSD beta drives in the CT is going to be sweet!
People will already be staring and now this thing is going to be wiggling all over the place with FSD 😂😂
What's the value of the thousand credit? Does it affect other than the position of your delivery?
Oh what a tangled web. Don't forget to get some green scotch bright pads. All the best.
In fairness to Tesla, at least 2 Cybertrucks appear to have sold for over $200,000 over the last two weeks. Plenty are being offered on various social media platforms. With this Tesla offer, a person can buy 3 of the cheapest model Y’s and a Cybertruck for just over $200,000, and receive all of them in just over a month. That benefits Tesla, and TSLA holders. Scalping Cybertrucks hurts basically everyone.
Great video. The honesty is truly appreciated. Slimy is the perfect description. Disappointed by the ability of jumping the line.
I am considering pausing my delivery for a non-foundation series. The $4k estimate to install the home hookup kit plus $20k upsell is silly. Hopefully I can do that without losing the $1k deposit for the order back in December. Slimy is a nice way to put it Chris.
Maybe a class action suit filed in Delaware would get their attention. Tesla is certainly violating implied delivery timing when taking a deposit through a system that was activated ahead of availability. I’m not a lawyer but I’d bet there’s some grey area here that could be used to formulate a claim.
The points are vauled at about $1000 per 10000 points. Thats spending 2k worth of points.
The only reason why I bought one was because they said I could get it faster than people who bought it before I could. That was part of the advertisement at the dealership. Oh you buy it now. You get it sooner before people in 2019
Chris, could you do a Michigan meet up when you get it? Maybe at the Ypsi or A2 chargers? I want to see it!
Yes, I will asap. One will probably be at the Clarkston service center, but I may do another.
@DirtyTesla awesome, Clarkston is too far for me, and I know you're in A2 a lot.
Used your referral link to buy Model Y. Picked it up today. I am glad it goes to worthwhile cause of getting CT early. I don’t mind people using 30,000 credits to order Foundation Series sooner since not a 2019 reservation holder.
Thank you, I see your referral credits come in! I appreciate it, enjoy your new Y!
@@DirtyTesla you’re welcome and thank you for the FSD content and hopefully FSD v12 beta comes soon, so I can try it in my 3 month free FSD trial. So far very impressed with v11 (all zero intervention drives so far). I also appreciate all the early foundation series CT adopters paying a premium to help ramp CT production and also make it better before my CT reservation turn comes in 2+ years!
I also was notified late last year to configure while paying $1,000 for committing more. I don’t have an UA-cam channel and I don’t have 30,000 referral credits to “get in front of the line” Makes me getting a CT, to go back farther in line. Slimy!!!! Worthwhile cause? I try too chew on that comment
Super Awesome for you! I got the foundation series email almost 2 months ago and I am not paying $25,000 over where it is already over $30,000 more than I reserved. I am about 30,000 in, but does it mean anything with Foundation Series? I agree with you, slimy!
My guess is that due to interest rates and the ever increasing recession fewer people will redeem their Cybertruck Reservations than expected.
I wonder how you will like driving the Cybertruck without FSD OR AP. I use FSD 95% of my driving so driving a long stretch of highway without anything would be annoying!
Chris did your order include the Gateway for V2H and I heard they pay for $4000 towards the installation of the Gateway? I know you already have the gateway because your home has Solar and PowerWall.
I canceled my orders the day after the disappointing 2nd reveal and pricing. I knew that there would be a lot of politics surrounding the Cybertruck. First, they mark up the price by 20k, and now that they have tasted the sweet money, they are letting people jump the line for even more profit. Shame on you, Tesla
Yep,dealers mark up by 20k, Tesla mark up by 20k.
I made my reservation back in 2019 and have the design studio option for my reservation. BUT, I can only choose between two $100K plus versions. Can’t afford that, so still waiting.
I was going to trade in my 2019 Model 3 in on a new Y and do the FSD transfer for free and buy one they had in stock locally, I went online and did the trade in value which was only $19,300 which was super low I thought but since I was transferring the FSD I felt it probably was worth it. I then test drove one, picked one out and put down a $250 deposit, then they came back with a final offer of $17,500. I was pissed and told them to kick rocks and lost $250. I looked at their used inventory and similar cars like mine with similar miles they were asking between $28 to 33K so a good $12k more then they were offering me for mine. I totally now have a horrible taste in my mouth about Tesla. I will not go through with my Cyber truck purchase and will just keep my Model 3 until it dies since its paid for and I've had zero issues with it.
Had a cyber truck order in as they rolled it on stage through a group that found the store link a few days before.... We sat and refreshed and processed it as they threw the ball and broke the glass 4+ years ago. According to the seed reservation I was ~1087th in line, was able to configure the actual order the day they actually released.
I shared a lot of the problems and feelings you did. So much so that I bought a Ford Lightning after swearing I would only buy Teslas. To be honest, the lightning has exceeded my expectations and I bought a used lariat for literally half of the AWD cyber truck price... and anyone who feels burnt by cyber truck but wants a electric truck still... Go drive and try a lightning. They are an awesome alternative.
Once prices drop to a more realistic cost, I think we'll have a model 3 moment with cyber truck but not right now.
Do road trip video like out of spec kyle style detail charging, view outside
Like this? ua-cam.com/video/07EnZpZKAVs/v-deo.html
This is why I cancelled my order yesterday! Tesla did not care at all! Told me others are more than willing to take my order. I've waited 60 days for my delivery with zero updates and then this came out! They did a hard pull on my credit unnecessarily ... They refused to fire me my deposit back!
Looking forward to a video on Powershare!
How do I join the Michigan owners club to see your cyber truck?
Please do a towing range test at speeds less than 70 mph. Washington speed limit for towed vehicles is 60 mph.
You got it
Now they had me pay $112,045.53 and still no update on when it'll arrive.
I’m waiting until I can get the dual motor for under $80k anyhow. I have no problem with pricing based on supply and demand. I’m American afterall. 🤷🏼♂️
I hope you get FSD 12 soon too as one of the select few.
The longer I wait, the more I’m thinking about passing on the CB based on how Tesla is handling this. I pre-ordered on day two and people are just jumping the line. I also don’t really care about paying more for the foundation series or the depreciation.
I feel the same. I ordered the same day maybe an hour in and I’m in Illinois. Still waiting hearing all about taking delivery from others. I’m considering Rivian and possibly going back to my Jeep Gladiator
Great video! I also ordered my around the same time and will be picking up in Grand Rapids. I’ll message you when I get my vin hopefully get same day you get yours!
About the Cyber truck lacking Autpilot... in current year when nearly all near passanger vehicles sold have it... Like why? How is radar cruse and lane keep that hard to enable in a $100k vehicle?
I have a reservation.. I am totally okay with this. I am not getting one until there isn't a 20k markup. I don't need it that bad.
Slimey it is.
FYI according to the facebook CyberTruck group, some people in Arizona have gotten VINs
People keep mentioning the bad charge curve of the CT. Please remember this was the same case when the M3 was first released. They gathered data and made changes. The CT uses new batteries and they need data to see what's safe and efficient.
I’m one of those customers that got that same slime ball feeling from Tesla. They treat customers like scum. I still love my cars but I’m fed up with the way they treat customers.
I bought 3 cars now from Tesla. My 2018 Model 3 dropped from $62,000 to $52,000 within 6 months of my purchase. My next Tesla was a 2022 Model S Plaid. It dropped in price from my $130,000 to now $95,000 within a year of purchase. Next l traded my 18 Model 3 for a 2023 Model Y. The list on that car was $53,000. That list is now down to $45,000 without incentives. So between the 3 cars the total, I lost a total $53,000 in instant depreciation.. The saving grace for me is that I made a load of money with the TSLA stock. Love the Cars. But they treat their customers like shit. You might think they would offer some perks to us losers.
Chris, I believe Elon has referred to "Dirty Tesla" a few times on his X account so don't sell yourself short. You are a VIP in Elon's eyes.
Most confusing thumbnail i ever seen 🤣, HOWEVER, it got me to click the video and type this
Always trying new and sometimes dumb things lol
Roadtrip with no Autopilot will suck
It will be so awful 😭
I ordered my tri-motor Cybertruck and paid a deposit the first day it was possible to do so years ago and I have heard nothing from them
Space coast + SpaceX is in Florida
