Why are the screens on electric cars not itergrated into the dash? They look like they've been stuck on as an after thought

It rotates. It can landscape or portrait. That's likely why it's not actually *IN* the dash.
Don't know, but older Tesla Model S cars like 2016 do have screens integrated into the dash, but the newer Model S cars do not have screens integrated.
You need screens, especially touch activated screens, up near your line of sight. If you have them in dash and have to look down it can be very hazardous.. That's why, in general, buttons are so much better. One quick glance and you're on the button, not going into the third layer of touch screen menus to activate your massaging seats.
They are on many. Tesla just hasn't figured that out yet. I would guess Elon doesn't let them.

I guess I didn't notice the speed limit signs that you were looking at. Most of the fast driving work in areas where it was two or three lanes and traffic was light. In all the other areas I felt he was driving reasonable although the lane changing was more than I would do he didn't seem to be cutting anyone off. And as far as age goes I've seen people well into their 60s driving like maniacs so older drivers are not necessarily more mature.

Is it just me, or does charging batteries from a battery doesn’t exactly make sense? If the truck recharged while driving like hybrids do, this could fly, but draining your main battery while in the desert so you can charge you bike(s), or what ever, doesn’t make sense when the main battery is your way home.
The truck battery is massive and the bike batteries tiny. Not really an issue.

@@GateFather There are no special "logistics" to loading it onto a rollback. Use skates or GoJaks under the tires then winch aboard as usual. Contacting Tesla for their towing guidance (AFTER checking the owners manual for winching and towing info!) would be wise.

19:03 - You can buy a 12v to 220v converter. In normal cars, the battery will not be a problem if your car is running. If you have a strong battery, it will be enough for a while, even if the car is not running. How long, of cours, it depends on how powerful the converter is.
I have one, and it's great. It plugs into a cigarette socket, this is more for less powerful converters.
You can run a new cable line from the battery to the cabin or trunk in case of buying more powerful converters or even two, etc.
In any case, they are great, and you can connect almost any device to them.

I don't expect Tesla will ever redesign the truck for a longer bed, not for many many years if ever. It looked like the Surrons fit fine at a slight angle.
It actually looks like you don't have any brake lights if you leave the gate open. I carried bikes several times like that as I have a double cab, and a full size 450 Enduro doesn't fit on with the gate closed, but it doesn't cover the plate and the lights are visible. If you want to be 100% legal, you hang a red cloth on the bike for the extra 40cm the gate hangs out on the bed, but no police would bug you for the gate being open if you carry something longer....

A truck without mud grip tires is just a car.
Park the bikes facing aft, and the handlebars will be able to turn wheels towards the sides further shortening overall length thus allowing two bikes to fit more straight axially within bed of truck. As you had them the handlebars couldn't be turned due to body/roof restraints... I think you'll find reversing them allows two e bikes squarely aligned with chassis, though your statement they don't fit is incorrect, you may not like the fit, but they DID fit with bed closed up.
A company better think twice before they let you borrow their vehicle... learn to drive responsibly man. If you want to "test" the speed then go somewhere away from others.

First: That "truck" is more like a smartphone with wheels. Not a truck ! Second, driving 70 mph in 35 mph area... We don`t do that shit in Europe. Here the limit is 30 mph, in city. You can also have 20 mph limit. Yeah, you can go even with 120 mph on the motorway if the traffic goes like that. But speeding in cities / crowded areas is not tolerated at all.

I think it's dangerous and stupid. If the battery malfunctions due to an accident and fire is starting inside the truck when the person inside is unable to open the door because of injury or unconsciousness, how can people from the outside open the door to save the person even if the door is unlocked?

Charging a battery with a battery sounds like a great idea. How is he going to recharge his useless EV in the middle of the desert?
@@simon6071 I saw this happen (not in person thankfully). An EV crashed and the battery burst into flame while the driver was inside. The door would not open because the battery failed and there is no mechanical linkage to the door handles. It's all electronic. The fire department was unable to open the door or even break the glass and the heat prevented them from doing much else. they had to back off and let the guy (who was still alive) burn. EVs are NOT a viable replacement for real cars.
Things Tesla needs to improve are: More bed space, a driver display and a better center display like S and X, better range 500 mile (Lucky you get 300 miles) signal stick at a minimum. Maybe the refresh will be better.

Those extra batteries take up a lot of space on load bed. The Japanese had 4 wheel steering in the 1980's, at slow speeds the wheels turn the opposite way to front, at higher speeds the wheels turned the same direction.
