      It was annoying when they changed the ork lore in the codex to say all the orks must be from the same clan. It made far more sense having a mob with all the different clans filling different roles.

    Glad to see another snakebite scheme with a lot of browns! I do agree that the problem they have is no official scheme for armour panels and plates. I think the best thing is to just make them metal and show the wear and tear of it. That’s what I’ve been doing with mine but yours look great too mate

      If you wanted to do Ork skin really easily with less colours, go with Orruk flesh for a base colour and then a wash of Biel-tan Green shade. After thats dried use an orruk flesh Glaze to lighten the raised areas. it looks great. If you wanted to do more later then you can always invest in a highlight colour.

    Well, the painting tips and methods are really great. I watch a lot of painting videos, videos about lifting weights, crafting, all sorts and with some people the information goes in and sticks and with others it just goes in one ear and out the other. With this tutorial, the editing and composition of the video, the multiple shots, that works for me: fantastic! 👍
    As an aside, I often have up to 150 videos to watch on youtube on any given day so I've started watching most of them on 2x speed and even then I often find I'd like them to be quicker or a bit more snippy with the edits. That isn't to say I won't or don't watch videos at 1x speed or that don't go on for an hour, many of the videos I watch do, but I do find myself getting a bit impatient when I video seems a bit long winded. With that in mind, I especially appreciate the way you're presenting this tutorial, for me personally, it's a really great video.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  3 роки тому +1

      I really appreciate the comment, thank you. My goal when I started this channel was to make painting tutorials that people can actually use and that are practical. I always got frustrated with long form painting videos because I would get impatient just like yourself and I would just want the information to paint what I wanted. My aim is to give as much information as possible and visuals are really important for this. I didn't want to dumb down or over complicate techniques and I want to show people how you can achieve great looking miniatures and it's not too difficult to do. I really enjoy making these videos and I'm so so happy that people are enjoying them and are actually using them to improve their own painting. Thank you you again for the support

      @@TableTopReadyUA-cam You're very welcome. I can only imagine the cost and effort that goes into making a decent video like this, and then actually conveying information is more of a skill than anything and we can all point out a poor teacher but an explanation of how to do it well is less forthcoming but you seem to have come up with something very effective here. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate you taking the time.

    Fantastic tutorial! One question though. Being a beginner, I've always believed painting the bits separately (e.g. somehow fixed on a stick/handle/holder) is better to paint parts of the model that would be difficult to reach if it was assembled. But seeing so many pros painting the minis fully assembled makes me think I'm wrong. What are your thoughts on that subject? Thanks a lot for the video! Subd.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  Рік тому

      I would imagine most pros paint in sub assemblies. If I’m working on a small amount of miniatures then I’ll generally always do sub assemblies. It’s a quality of life thing. Areas are easier to get to and it’s less daunting. I have a video going on how I get my miniatures ready for painting. At the end of the day it’s a choice, I don’t always do sub assemblies, always try different things and see what you prefer. Everyone is different 😃

    So barely getting into 40k myself and I was wondering since I have the same combat patrol pack you have in the video on what color to paint my army. On the box it seems they have the Goff paint scheme but do I have to paint them that way or could I change them into Badmoons or Deathskullz? Not sure yet on which clan I want to be.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  2 роки тому +1

      Every colour scheme you see painted on boxes or in publications are just one way of painting your miniatures. You can paint your Orks how ever you want to. In the video I give a basic guide to painting some of the different clans. The different clans have different play styles and rules in the table top game so it depends on how you want to play them. But honestly paint them how ever you want, they’re your miniatures and go with what gets your creative juices flowing 😃 have a look online and the Ork codex if you have it and read the lore and back ground on the different clans and see if there is a clan your drawn too

      The great thing about the hobby is we can paint our miniatures how ever we want. :) I'm a huge fan of the Goffs, I like having loads of orks all rushing in to combat and overwhelming enemy units, you get to roll tons of dice which is always more fun as well

    • @thegametroll6264
      @thegametroll6264 4 місяці тому

      @TableTopReadyUA-cam I like the goffs for close range combat perks, the bad moons for ranged combat and the blood axes are fun for commandos and kunin tactics. I like snake bites because of gretchin and squig perks. Probably because my first orks model and 40K model in general was a runt herd with gretchin and a pet attack squig.

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  2 роки тому

      The thing that lets you know what clan they are in, are the colours. So this tutorial already kind of goes through that. If you know people already in the hobby then see if they know what you have. You could also go through the games workshop store and see what miniatures you have or get yourself the codex which will tell you everything you need to know 😃

    great video ! very helpful ! I`m planning to do my Deathskulls , but looking more for blue tones in new codex - there is a picture of a Deathskull beast Snagga - Do You have maybe an idea what color to use ? seems more like base of Kantor Blue mix with Caldor ( looks more saturated blues then Maccrage ) . What do You think sir ?

    • @TableTopReadyYoutube
      @TableTopReadyYoutube  3 роки тому +1

      Go check out my painting deathskulls tutorial, if you havn’t. I based that off the buggy painted in deathskulls colours which they pretty much did for their snagga in the book. If you want to go darker with the blue, you could mix that colour if you wanted or you could just give the macragger a wash of nuln oil all over. When your looking at games workshops images, they can be deceiving because of colour correction for printing and the highlights they do also effect how the base blue looks. So always experiment and make sure it’s what your happy with 😃
