Every repair on a Bentley will be insanely expensive, not just the engine. Goes for every expensive car really. I am currently looking for that Top Gear clip where they bought a Mercedes CL 600 for 5000 £, only to have an ignition coil go wonky after 2 weeks - which was a 1250 £ bill...

Theres a reason why all those old exotics are DIRT cheap, because everytime they break, they cost more than their worth to fix, so no one wants to deal with that. Not to mention, trying to find a certified Aston Martin or Bentley repair shop can be quite the hassle too.

They are all priced about right, being the soon upcoming repairs will cost double what the car is actually worth. It would be a gamble to buy a car like one of these with the odds not in your favor.

Wrong. The cars are worth 80-120k. The issue is dummies buying them thinking they are getting a 15k car. When they are actually getting a 120k for 15k. Then they'll complain about how unreliable the 120k car is that they treat like a 15k Toyota.
That's what happens when you sink your money into these "luxury" cars, you gotta think deeper into it before you just buy it, my grandfather has had a few Cadillacs and he's probably paid more money for maintenance than the car itself.
insurance, repairs... hell, even regular maintenance is a killer. For the Bentley, I want to say that the standard service will run 4 figures easy and you can't take it anywhere, you have to take it to someone that specifically services Bentley. This is also no longer even close to valid as the used luxury and exotic market has blown up

You show up in a beat up 94 Corolla and the clients go to someone else. But those are rare exceptions. In most cases you are much better off getting a regular commuter car and putting the money you save on car payments into index funds or stocks. Some day down the road you will earn so much dividends they alone will pay the lease on a new Tesla or any other car of your choice. This is the lesson young people need to understand.

Is it due for service? What is the mileage? Put two Mustang GT500's side by side, same year, same motor, one has 50k miles, the other has 140k miles and been wrecked, they will not price the same. If your dealer prices them the same, get a new dealer, you're getting hosed all day.

Personally I think it's better to buy a Camry and wait for disposable income but we all need some fun in life. Good luck

I have the Maserati Granturismo and love it. It really turn heads but very expensive maintenance. It's not about looking rich, its about enjoying life. Once you have reached certain goals in your life It's ok to reward yourself.
You might snag them cheap, but you'll find out how much it costs to keep them up, the first time you take them into the shop to replace a broken taillight.
Ten years ago I bought a brand new vw polo for 20k. I still own it and drive it daily. My car didn't make me look rich then and certainly not now, but it still runs like a clock with no single engine problem at 250k km. Guess I wasn't born to "look rich". 😅 🤷🏻♂️ 😊 Great video btw! 👍🏼

You show up in a beat up 94 Corolla and the clients go to someone else. But those are rare exceptions. In most cases you are much better off getting a regular commuter car and putting the money you save on car payments into index funds or stocks. Some day down the road you will earn so much dividends they alone will pay the lease on a new Tesla or any other car of your choice. This is the lesson young people need to understand.
Or buying a cheap car that you will only need for four years and if your income amount supports it, you could save up in that time and buy a different car.

You should list the mileage for the vehicles you found. That obviously plays a huge part in the price as well as practicality
Sometimes You can get 200k in better shape than 50k. All about previous owner and honest service. My passat 1.9tdi just passed 600k miles.
He should also add why they depreciated so much in addition to high mileage. There are so many factors that can make these things a huge burden especially for someone who is on a budget

I have the Maserati Granturismo and love it. It really turn heads but very expensive maintenance. It's not about looking rich, its about enjoying life. Once you have reached certain goals in your life It's ok to reward yourself.

Ten years ago I bought a brand new vw polo for 20k. I still own it and drive it daily.
My car didn't make me look rich then and certainly not now, but it still runs like a clock with no single engine problem at 250k km.
