My concern is mostly what they will cost to maintain once you possess one of those older luxury cars. That has to be part of the cost when we’re talking about “cheap”. I’d love to see your take on that aspect for each car
Most of the parts for my Cadillac ats are cheaper than the parts for my chevy cruze. With some minor exceptions but even then they are not expensive by any means
@Basement Berean But would a girl be attracted to a guy with a Cadillac ATS or a guy with a Camry for the same price of 8,000? I would pick the Cadillac ATS
I'm surprised the 3rd gen Lexus GS 350 wasn't mentioned. RWD or AWD with that reliable Toyota V6 engine for under 15k is a sweet spot between affordability and luxury.
MANY years ago, when I owned a shop, we had an older gentleman who would bring in his 80's model Mercedes 420 SEL for work....be it a brake job or simple fluid check and top. It was brown, with tan interior, had the V8 with auto...and OMG, to drive that thing! It rode like a cloud. It was quiet inside, powerful, the ULTIMATE CRUISER or long-distance commuter. He LOVED the car too...I offered to buy it from him, and his reply, 'son, this is my lifetime car...I'll have this for the rest of my life'. To any that might wonder, the central powertrain parts ARE expensive, but most of the electrical, ignition, chassis parts are VERY comparable to what you would pay for an older Camaro or Chevelle part...though there were a few exceptions where 'yep, you're paying for that name'. If I still had the shop now to build it, I'd simply hunt down a 420-SEL from the '80's', pull the powertrain, drop in a smooth American V-8 (my preference would be a 'large displacement' lugging motor...like a 383 or 440 Chrysler, or equivalent...possibly a 7.4 Hemi) with automatic transmission. As for the ride quality...I don't think anyone can come close to that Mercedes...period.
Cadillac seems to get a lot of hate these days, but are still great cars. I still daily my 2005 CTS with 140k miles, they are built like tanks. Aside from normal repairs on higher mileage cars like brakes, front end components (control arms, links, bearings) She still runs like new with no major issues. Great used cars to grab if you can find one owned by an older person (which isn't hard with Caddy)

My '14 ATS4 Luxury package has the 272HP 4cyl. It's definitely no slouch. But at 50k miles, it's still a $15k-$20k car. My MR2 Turbo is still 10x more fun to drive, however.
the chrysler 300 srt8: has a 6.4L V8, crazy interior features, nice screen with performance customization such as launch control and suspension, and 19mpg/15lpk, and surprisingly reliable. only about 15-20k USD. perfect

Id say, hes thinking about it being a German designed car and their 10 year old electrical gremlins that appear since germans since w.e year have been using biodegradable wiring in their cars since mid 2000's. And Rolston is probably thinking about the turbo charged engine problems that can arise with the s class Mercedes that are that is.
@@dmitrishvetsov2980 So you expect a 100k car to be cheap to fix?..but wait if you don't take it to the stealership yes you should be able to afford one!
I actually think there is one AMG that to me is slightly more luxurious and still costs the same and that is the CLS55. Don’t forget that that 5.4l v8 is pretty darn much bullet proof it wasn’t until the 6.2l V8 came out that AMG’s became a mechanic’s gold mine
Probably my favorite list of cars I've seen come out from the channel. Nailed it with the AMG, folks don't know about that one. Definitely opened my eye into the Cayman, probably will make that a goal of mine as, in the words of Mike Brewer, a proper sports car!👌🏼
The Cadillac ATS also came with an optional 3.6 V6 that made 321hp, i have one of those in black with the red interior and carbon fiber trim and it is a very fun, fast and reliable car
I have a 2014 Cadillac ATS 2.0T and no complaints. just over 100k miles, 0 problems with 272hp and 260lb tq. Has more than enough for daily driving. I would avoid the 2.5L models, unless like the point of the video, don't care about performance. The 2.5L pushing 202hp and 191tq. But you could possible get away with using regular fuel on the 2.5L model to save a few $$ at the pump. The 2.0T requires premium fuel so something to keep in mind with this model.
If you are worried about the gas prices that will be nothing compared to the maintenance on these most of these cars are complete junk Watch Scotty kilmer if you want a good education on what cars to buy.
There is always a soft spot in my heart for a Mercedes. The E55 wins for me. But you failed to mention the repairs on that baby are gonna make up for it’s value price.
Nobody talks about the INFINITY M56x/M37x, the Jaguar XF and XJL 3.0L supercharged AWD all 3 of these are pretty good cars with the option of v8s v6s awd or rwd. All while having amazing levels of luxury and bang for your buck performance and you can get them relatively cheap with under 100k miles in good condition.
Yeah that’s kinda the point. I mean none of these, aside from the Benzes are gonna make you actually look “rich”, but it’s about them looking like they’re worth a lot more than they are and I think a Z4 still looks pretty high end for its price.
People often forget, that after you've bought a car, and dealt with everything at the DMV. There's still the insurance costs and maintenance/repairs. And I've learned from experience that unless you have a garage or second vehicle it's nearly impossible to keep a car nice as a daily driver. That's actually why I gave up and bought a Hyundai. It's actually very reliable, parts are cheap, it's great on gas and the insurance isn't too bad. Also... it's not hard at all to find a nice newer looking car like an Audi or something like that. But definitely, do your research first. Some of these cars are cheap for a reason. Like the engine doesn't get that many miles before it's finished. Or there's a major repair about to come up on it. And then if it checks out, bring a mechanic along with you to look at it. Test drive it. I recommend BMW if you're looking for that fast type of luxury car, but whatever you're looking at, just do a little research first. Because a bad ass looking car, for cheap, isn't hard to find. It's just not always the deal you want it to be.
The E52 Z8 and the E85 Z4 are the best looking BMW Zs in my opinion 👌🏻 [Edit] yes the E36 Z3 does looks gorgeous too but I'm with my own opinion on this one since it's such a great design improvement for the Z4 since the it came out 😬

The problem is these are Young inexperienced morons don't have real knowledge about cars. A lot of these cars are not cheap to buy in most areas, including Canada and they aren't reliable when it comes down to reliability. Performance isn't everything if you're emptying your wallet and spending your paychecks on car replacement parts or paying for labor at a shop every month or two. The only cars that make you really look rich are Exotic cars, cause real car enthusiasts knows anyone that's making under 70 Grand a year will never afford a High end Lamborghini, Ferriari, Aston Martin and A McLean.

I never thought I'd be in a Cadillac. Was hunting a 4 door replacement for my E46 M3 ZCP. Started looking at E39 M5. To get a mint one you are looking at $50-60k and even then you will still have the issues that a 20 year old car will have. The other newer 5 series didn't do it for me. Drove a 2017 CTS-V3, wanted it. A dealership screwed me on the deal we made after I took a 3.5 hour drive to pick it up. Same night another dealership looking for V3's for me told me about something called a VSport. Going for a Schmidty Tune and e85 plus a full suspension and brake build. Better than stock V3 power and the same luxury for 1/2 the price.
One car that is overlooked is the Chrysler Crossfire 2004-2008... Coupe. Not the roadster. Mercedes bones and Karmann Body. Solid as a rock and performs excellent! Makes you look rich without being rich, and will increase in value over the years being as there were not many made. Another thing they DON'T say is that they were Imported from Germany to the US, and were priced almost as high as the similar SLK-320. But, you won't have the issues with the hydraulic fluid issues either. Something to consider. Reasonable to maintain and own. That's my input. If yu drove one, you'd understand why.
I had one of these and it would just randomly die. Left me stranded on the highway in dangerous traffic. One of those problems you need to take to the Mercedes dealership and let them run up a bill in the thousands just trying to figure out what's causing the issue.
Kind of surprised didn't have my car the Lexus LS430 it's big comfortable possibly the most reliable car I've ever built as well as helping you look rich
Seriously, the ATS is wayyyy too slept on! I have a 13 ats, turbo with a manual! About $1k in DIY bolt on parts parts and you're around 350hp at the crank. All that in a car that weighs just a bit more than a Civic type R, with RWD and a luxurious interior, for less than half the MSRP. Also, he's not kidding about the handling dynamics, this chassis was the best in its class and still holds up today. I got some BC racing coilovers and Michelin PS4S tires on it, and I keep up with cars way above my level around canyon roads (think mid level Porsches and recent M cars). If the potential in this car was more well known, I seriously think people would start cross shopping it with daily trackable cars like new STi's, Type R's and even later model 3 series.
@@nmlearnerforever I want it because my dad asked my what type of car I want. My top picks are a used c7, a use 911 or cayman, and my favorite the genesis coupe.
The Lexus IS 200t (2016-2017) are sooo good and very underrated. Absolutely incredible to drive. 250hp, great sounding turbo, great torque, nice grip, sporty, luxurious, 8 speed automatic, paddle shifters and manual mode, and it t u r n s heads. I like its modern design language. I just don't love modern cars. But it is still an awesome car. BMW as a car company kinda freaks me out a little bit because B.M.W. = Brake My Wallet. But still, this little thing is my favorite car on this list. The Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG isn't one of my favorites design-wise, but it has an awesome interior and its performance is awesome.
I'm sitting in my 2013 cadillac ats while I'm watching this. It's a v6 naturally aspirated 5 second car. It's plenty fast. I got it for 16 k and felt life i robbed someone when i left the lot
First car already a miss. Be very careful with those Mercedes from that era and make sure you avoid all the models with the air suspension. They are notorious to fail and cost a fortune to replace.
Hyundai has a 2015-2016 Genesis that come in a 5.0 420hp package, same thing as the G80. Just that it was rebranded into G80 in 2017 but they got rid of the V8.
My friend drives a 2016 MKZ and it's certainly really nice, but I def prefer my 2014 MKS. Extremely roomie interior, greater HP/Torque, and has a more commanding appearance.
The 2004-2005 Mercedes e55 AMG. I have a had an E320 2004 since o9 ,that looks exactly like the e55 minus the badges. I even have the quad exhaust. The e55 are getting cheaper. They are hard to fine here in Toronto. People are asking 30k. Cheers

Bro broooo broooo... Last time I bought a e46 for my brother... Same week you made a video about why to buy a e46. I felt like, I made a great decision. And now i bought a cayman s last month... Seeing that in your list made me feel I should work with you guys 😂 . I feel happy ..😌
Congrats on that Cayman! What car should I mention next for you to buy?
@@IdealMediaChannel what do you think, e36 328i or 99" 4.6 V8 mustang ?
Hell yeah another list
The more lists the better
@@veal2169 yup
I like the fact if you wreck the Volvo with your family in the car they won't die! Safety is always overlooked!
It’s super important but it never really makes for a compelling UA-cam video.
Kind of surprised didn't have my car the Lexus LS430 it's big comfortable possibly the most reliable car I've ever built as well as helping you look rich
nice to watch during this test 😂
Yeah who needs that test anyway
I don’t think I’ve ever been this early to an Ideal video. Sure made my morning nicer
The Best UA-cam Channel In My Opinion
Me too!
3 video ideas:
Most iconic car from each car brand .
Most iconic car of each year/decade.
Best first car from each brand.
Love these ideas! Keep an eye out for them!
@@IdealMediaChannel thank you! Skipped school for this 😂
I love the idea of best first car from each brand
@@nmlearnerforever I want it because my dad asked my what type of car I want. My top picks are a used c7, a use 911 or cayman, and my favorite the genesis coupe.
@@ShaSha-pj6jq used cayman and genesis coupe are great choices
Nice never been this early before
Only when Brad use to do honorable mansions lol 😂
I don't want to look rich, I perfer to be quietly wealthy.
2013 ATS you can still blend in while looking like you are doing well for yourself.
I like the last two and the MKZ. I don't care about looking rich, I just want excellent value on well made cars that can be bought cheap.
Volvo wagon...he’s lost his mind😂
maybe a little bit
I have a 2006 CTS with the 3.6L V6 and it’s damn nice, got it for $4800, it’s a nice balance between comfort and performance
Hey same here but I currently have the engine pulled because I'm swapping the engine also the first gen cts v is around 10k
If you could choose any car to take your drivers test with what would it be. Mine would be McLaren P1
I did mine in a 1987 BMW 325e. It was definitely not a McLaren!
@@IdealMediaChannel i was negative 16 year old when you went to your first date 🥴😂😒
@@IdealMediaChannel classy man over here 😂
@@rohanfahad7220 this guy, assuming I've been on a date.
@@IdealMediaChannel I would dream of doing it in a P1
Mine will be the Cayman 987, The Squidd.
To this day I still have people compliment me on it. The price ranges from 20k-27k so it’s in line with the cayman but I have seen them as low as 15k with 40 something thousand miles. I promise that car is so great. Plus it’s a Lexus so the reliability is there 😂.
It’s not the fastest car around but it’s definitely worth it if you aren’t trying to break your bank and wanna hit a lot of points.
I agree it's a good lookin car but the ones I see are all well over $20,000, so maybe in a year or two these become an ideal value!
@@IdealMediaChannel hopefully bro !!
Sure if you're 5'3". The car IS models are tiny and cramped inside.
@@ClarenceMD23 it’s a sports car…most of them are that way 😂. And no I’m 5’8. I agree it’s a bit cramped but if you are a large person you don’t need to be looking at smaller sports cars anyway. Nothing wrong with the size of the Is
Thx you so much another awesome video...I didnt know the ats have 4 cylinders ...that what I be looking sexy cars with 4 cylinders that's very good in gas and very good to maintain instead of swallowing my wallet..
The goal is to be rich not to look rich
😁
Facts are being smoken
Goal is to be both. You build more connections when you look like you are doing well for yourself. Which makes you more money in the long run.
I just bought a 14 ats 2.0t performance trim rwd in January, Already have tons done to it. Still have bunch more to do. My goal is 400rwhp so about 435-450 at flywheel. This summer she gets tuned and running e47.
Those cars you just shown, yes you have to be rich to keep them up, they break down a lot and will keep your wallet empty for years to come! lol
If its not a old Toyota/Lexus or Honda/Acura. Your setting yourself for failure.
Awesome episode, besides the countless adds this was definitely enjoyable
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@IdealMediaChannel great video. I just subscribed but the number of ads was over the top. Not sure you have control of that.
In 5 years time the Camry 2020 will be looking like a good deal with those gorgeous looks
Eh no , yuck looks
@@93mlo you think? Those Camry looks insane for a Camry. It doesn't even looks like a Camry anymore. Camry have a boring looks for a lot of years but this year? Damn it looks sooo FINE😂
As a Volvo-owner myself I can tell you this, they aren't cheap to maintain. But I wouldn't change it for anything. :)
Is it just me or that genius look like a infinity
Apart from the Ats cadillac the Cts should've been added starting at 15k n below from a 2003-2013 with a 3.6L V6
I am warming up to the Volvos design language and they are pretty awesome cars in general. I prefer older Volvos but most of their cars are awesome.
The Lincoln MKZ is pretty cool. I like its modern design language. I just don't love modern cars. But it is still an awesome car.
BMW as a car company kinda freaks me out a little bit because B.M.W. = Brake My Wallet. But still, this little thing is my favorite car on this list.
The Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG isn't one of my favorites design-wise, but it has an awesome interior and its performance is awesome.
agree on a lot of these points.
Maintenance costs on some of these Brand's cancel out the price of a cheap Mercedes Benz for example.
I like the look of Volvo's before the Chinese bought the company.
The Q45 should be on your list. Luxury on the inside, powerful & fast , low maintenance and dirt cheap.
We got a 13 Ats base with 4 cylinder for 15,000, and a 14 Ats with a 6 cylinder all wheel drive for 20,000.
My main goal is to be rich before i look rich but i still like there videos
@18:22 “you’ll be drowning in a sea of...leather trim” we all know what you were trying to say lol
More like "You'll be drowning in an ocean of leather appointed repair bills"
I got a 2016 g80 ultimate package awd with 48,000 miles last year for 22k and I absolutely love it
I'm sitting in my 2013 cadillac ats while I'm watching this. It's a v6 naturally aspirated 5 second car. It's plenty fast. I got it for 16 k and felt life i robbed someone when i left the lot
due to the inflated used car market you need to add about $10K to every price shown in this list
I have never had a single issue with my "cheap" used Maserati, while all the hate car world? It is a stunningly beautiful car and sounds like heaven.
First car already a miss.
Be very careful with those Mercedes from that era and make sure you avoid all the models with the air suspension. They are notorious to fail and cost a fortune to replace.
only Gripe i have with the ATS is the Delamination with the Cue Screens (i have a 2016)
The Caddy ATS and the Lincoln Mkz for me.
I got a ATS 2.0t built engine with 500hp shits fun af definitely a good car to buy just don’t get the ones with the CUE display system
The Genesis, Lincoln and Cadillac are my choices and in that order. Maintainece is also something I consider and benz no matter how old is pricey.
The AMG was one I like and the genesis
I have a tuned Porsche i bought it for 24k and have 15k tunes its like really good really fun to drive and can hit the track as well
Really love your videos
From India
Lincoln MKZ is a beautiful design. I think it was a awesome build. Pulse I like the BMW Z4 from Mission impossible 2, I believe...
USA: 9000$ nissan 350z
here in Portugal: that'll cost you 20k
In Myanmar, prices rarely ever depreciate and sometimes we even profit from selling back 😂
Just bought an Ats-V
You can also get an ferrari modial for under 40k!
Also with just some more money you could make it look like an ferrari testarossa.
It has 239hp.
Hyundai has a 2015-2016 Genesis that come in a 5.0 420hp package, same thing as the G80. Just that it was rebranded into G80 in 2017 but they got rid of the V8.
And that's how ideal plays around with the car market... You guys wanna make a review on how good my yaris ativ is so it can appreciate
I got a 1975 Cutlass Supreme for $5000.
Maybe not officially a luxury car but it looks fancy as hell to me.
Cheers
