I was just thinking “I wish Doug would put something out” and Shazam!!! Great job Brother! That’ll make a great addition to her colab! And kudos for supporting Caitlan.
and another sighting of the Olivet Sasquatch... LOL nice ring...I didn't quite understand what the "Caitlan's Collab" was all about, but nice project as always
Thank You Joe, She is assembling a Makers Chain, she will be making the connecting links, cutting them apart and gluing them around all the rings that were sent to her by other makers
Doug, they look flippin fantastic mate. I really like the look of the pot pourri and pine cones in resin and in something this thin they really jump out at ya! Top job fella.👍😁 Caitlin's got some really beautiful rings going into this collection.😁👍
very nice big fella im sure Cat will get a good few sent to her, like u mentioned its great or very rare to see a youngster doing something other than having a phone glued to their hand i have watched her for a while now and she gets better by the week, cheers mate Ross

Well, well, well .... 3 holes in the ground 😂 you’ve done it again my friend , it’s a beauty, you always come up smelling of roses... or potpourri 😘🌲🦊🌲👍
I love the colors of the rings you made for the collab. They sure are pretty. If she gets a lot of people to send her rings it will certainly be a pretty chain. If you could make them seven and one half.(small).. AND eight inch (large) rings.. they would make beautiful ladies bracelets.
Thank You Kay, they are Bangles but to large to wear. She is assembling a Makers Chain, she will be making the connecting links, cutting them apart and gluing them around all the rings that were sent to her by other makers
Caitlan is making a Makers Chain a ring from each maker, she's going to be making the connecting links . the shop smelled like lavender for almost a week after I made them so I really don't know if they still have that smell.
Love your channel! Amazing art! Fabulous techniques! I have one question...is there additional use or any recycle ideas for the epoxy shavings? Just curious... P.S. No, I am not a Green *nut* recycler...just wondering..
Maureen Millen I saw someone experiment with setting the shavings in resin, and turning that - the result was pretty, but created more shavings than it used. I think the best hope for reducing the amount of plastic trash produced is really precise moulding - which also leads to spending less on resin! I would expect they could be used as filler in low-specification concrete products, like garden paths where it's kind of non critical if they crack a bit, or in solid cast plastic items like decking boards, but that's a bit outside the scope of most artisan turners.
Thank you, in the process of making them smaller for bracelets now, they are for a young girl turner in the UK who is making a MAKERS CHAIN, dimensions are to her specifications, she will be making smaller links cutting them and and re-gluing them to connect all the rings she has received from other makers around the world, it should be pretty cool by the time she is done with it.
Thank You Chris, carbide tools are very aggressive and tend to chip out the resin so I do not like to use them unless they are negative rake, I was taking my time the best I could when using them on this project.
Thank You Erica. It's in the works for the Etsy store, these were to big to wear, it's gonna be a lil while before I can get some in the store but they are coming,
Sir, I wanted to find out if you you be able to make an urn for my brother. He liked Bull dogs, eagles, wolves and Native Amerind, if you could incorporate these into it with night colors, I would be so appreciative if you could... Thank you

You know you have to make a potpourri bowl now. The colors are so beautiful!!
Thank You, yeah I'm sure I will at some point, just have to figure out how to not waste so much resin doing it.
Wooden blank secured to the bottom of the bucket before you pour in the resin.
Nice rings for her collaboration. She should be very happy with those.
Thank You William

Nice one Doug! They turned out great with the potpourri not had much luck with the stuff in the past, might just have to have another go now 👍👌👍
Thank You Sam, I used a resin that takes a day or so to set up so it would soak into all the potpourri, it worked out well.

Cool Doug! Now I’m kicking my self for selling my Cole Jaws. Lol. Well not really. I love the colors of the flower petals in the resin!
Thank You Mert, lol yup the wife now has me making them for the Etsy store, she has already collected bags of different colors for me to use.
The Pohl Barn Productions at too funny! They look like a bunch of fun to make. I might try a couple to see what it takes!
Pretty!

Enjoyed your video and gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank You Russell
Omg this is awsome
Thank You
I have to ask as you did the ring, I was wondering if you could smell the potpourri through the resin? The lavender color is beautiful.
Beautiful...
Try parting off with a hacksaw...with the lathe running as normal...🇬🇧👍
Thanks again Glenn
Loved the video. And that was long set Total boat, then 24 hours under pressure? And great Idea maybe a touch of color in the acrylic.
Thank you Jim, it was thick set total boat, 48 hours or so in the pressure just to make sure
very nice, Top
Thank You Billy
Wish you’d make more and put them on Etsy.
Thank You, Coming soon !
Don't know the story. Looks like Bangles. Great job Doug 👏
Thank You Kay, they are Bangles but to large to wear. She is assembling a Makers Chain, she will be making the connecting links, cutting them apart and gluing them around all the rings that were sent to her by other makers
Little gears from watches, and as well as you did the rings,to make onion rings))
Thank You, I made them to specs given by another.
Is there anything you cant do? Nice project. Looks really cool
Thank You Steve, Yes I can't give Birth ! LOL
Doug, do you know what these are going to be used for? Do they smell like lavender?
I have asked for turners to make a chain - details are on my channel.
Caitlan is making a Makers Chain a ring from each maker, she's going to be making the connecting links . the shop smelled like lavender for almost a week after I made them so I really don't know if they still have that smell.

Wow! Very cool! But I have a question... did it smell like lavender while you were turning it? 💜
Thank you Tracey, yes it did.
Excuse me, can you tell me the connection with the spindle? screws? driver? glued wood? Thank you.
They're beautiful, but what are they for? If they were smaller diameter they could be bracelets.... 😉
Oh, cool! A piece of a bigger project! I happily stand corrected. 😊
Beautiful. Do you sale any of your work ?
Thank You, Links for Etsy store in description
Very pretty, do you find it better to use carbide vs regular chisel to be used on this resin , just curious
Thank You Chris, carbide tools are very aggressive and tend to chip out the resin so I do not like to use them unless they are negative rake, I was taking my time the best I could when using them on this project.
Just a question, couldn't you use a bigger block of wood and less epoxy? Great job though!
Thank You Kevin, yes but I was in a hurry as the first one didn't go so well, I have made bigger waste blocks for the next go at it.
I love your potpourri creations! Do you take commissions?
Thank You Erica. It's in the works for the Etsy store, these were to big to wear, it's gonna be a lil while before I can get some in the store but they are coming,
Τέλειο.
"I will turn him too" Lololol
for some reason the flies like the resin, I have found them in it on smaller pours that were not in the pressure pot.
Very nice sir, potpourri looked beautiful. Did you dry it out first or just use it from store?
Thank you Justin. we picked it up at a second hand store and it was in the shop for quite a while before we used it, no drying
Aren't you supposed to let the resin set a little bit before putting the lavender in?
Thank You Morgan, I have no Idea
@@PohlBarnProductions I know it's light and floats up...just wondering here.
Nice Doug. Shame about the first one cracking.
Thank You Steve. it was already cracked due to exothermic reaction, I just thought I might be able to get something out of that casting. I was wrong.
Like it :)
Thank You
Sir, I wanted to find out if you you be able to make an urn for my brother. He liked Bull dogs, eagles, wolves and Native Amerind, if you could incorporate these into it with night colors, I would be so appreciative if you could... Thank you
I am sorry
What does the pressure help? thanks
it compresses the air bubbles that were mixed in until the resin sets up and hardens so you can not see them.
@@PohlBarnProductions Thanks!
